  • The #AcuraIntegra was one of the original cars that the #Acura brand launched with back in 1986. It grew a huge cult following over the years before the name got retired in 2001. Over 20 years later, the #Integra is back and its back to reclaim its crown as an affordable premium car that is based on the reliable Honda Civic platform. The new 2023 #IntegraASpec is also the only vehicle in the segment available with a 6-speed MT and at only $30,800 to start, its one of the most affordable premium cars on the market.

The new Acura Integra is so much more than just a gussied up Honda Civic Si! We had a chance to drive both cars back-to-back and the Acura has noticeable changes to the ride quality and sound of the engine. We also really dig the styling on the outside and the huge practicality advantage with this Sportback design. Expect us to talk about those differences in an upcoming review!

The absence of cooled seats and rear seat climate vents is just baffling. The Honda Accord offers both of those at this price point and there is a lot of parts interchangeability between Accord and Civic/Integra. There are aftermarket rear seat vent retrofit kits for the Civic that basically just use accord parts. Literally all the ingredients are there, but Acura just chose not to use them for some reason. My guess was to preserve model hierarchy. I’ve always hated how American product planners are always trying to push you into a bigger vehicle to get the features you want.

    • @DragonKnightX12

For some reason American spec compacts just don't have rear vents. I don't understand that. I could see maybe not adding cooled seats when you're getting some more premium market features like the ELS audio system. I don't think the accord even offers bose yet.

Of course a GR86 competitor would be great, but there integra never was a RWD coupe. People don’t get that. And Acura/Honda isn’t going to spend millions to build a coupe in an SUV world that won’t sell. If coupes sold well, especially FWD, they’d still make a civic and accord coupe. Nissan would still make an Altima coupe. And Kia would make a forte coupe still.

I'd like to see more bright colors offered on this car.
Hopefully just like the DC2 Integra Type R from 2 decades ago, the Integra Type S is offered in yellow exterior from the prototype with the rear wing spoiler, yellow on black seats with the Type S embroidery, Brembo Calipers front and rear, 6-speed manual. It'll be a Type S, so the Integra Type S should have the same color as the old Integra Type R, but super beefed up and sported out.
At $36,800 for a fully loaded manual, that's a hell of a steal for a luxury car. The Germans are overpriced. The Lexus IS250 is slower, but it and the Cadillac CT4 non-V would really come close to this.
I'd certainly get this especially with these gas prices.

Took away the amenities that the 10th gen Si already had, including adaptive dampers and then raised the cost of the 11th gen Si $2K. Then, added them all back into the top trim Integra A-Spec with Tech Pkg for $8K more. $8K more and you don't even get rear vents. It's a nice car, but definitely not worth $8K more than an Si with the same powertrain.

The hatch is huge for people like myself that don't want an SUV. I do wish it was DCT though. Driving stick every day doesnt interest me as much as it once did. It seems like a real nice car, because, well, the civic already is. I just wish it had more to differentiate itself from the civic. Im now looking at this as a successor to the LS/GS integra and the type S (they already trademarked the name) will be the successor to the GSR/TYPE R. More power would be nice, but I believe it gets 6 mpg more than an elantra N or a Mazda 3 turbo.
