Memphis may not be everyone's top pick, but hey, beauty is in the eye of the beholder, right? 😄 What cities do you all love or have mixed feelings about?
Tennessee is an amazing state I’ve met amazing people there that have impacted my life for the better and the worst but if you are moving to this state remember there is a lot of other people so a lot of jobs will start to make this place seem like the most average state once everyone is there to ruin it
It sounds like you've had a mix of experiences in Tennessee. It's true that as more people move to a place, there can be changes and challenges. The influx of new residents may impact the job market and the overall vibe of the state. It's essential to consider both the positive and potential challenges when deciding to make a move. Have you found ways to navigate or adapt to the changes you've observed?
This video is awesome! It explains why lots of people are moving to Tennessee, and I totally get why. The mix of low costs, job chances, and beautiful nature is super appealing. I'm seriously thinking about investing there. Thanks for sharing this!
That's fantastic to hear! I'm glad you found the video helpful. Tennessee does offer a unique blend of affordability, job opportunities, and natural beauty. Investing there sounds like a promising idea. If you have any more questions or need further insights, feel free to ask. Best of luck with your considerations!
It depends on where you're coming from and what you are looking for. No state tax is a big attraction. But no money for public infrastructure and schools. A lot of corporate welfare. Scenery is beautiful in east Tennessee may be attractive to some but that doesn't pay the bills nor give quality of life. I think there are other states that have a balanced tax structure with a good amount of high performing public schools, useful transit for their cities with less violent streets. Tennessee needs to look to safe states to take a look at what is working in their cities to make them more livable and stop being political.
You bring up some crucial points! It's true, the absence of state tax is a big draw, but there are trade-offs, especially in terms of public infrastructure and schools. Finding that balance is key. Which states do you think are doing a great job in creating a livable and safe environment? It's always valuable to learn from what works elsewhere. 🗣
@TroyKearns livable safe environments? Minnesota, Massachusetts, Washington, to name a few. Minneapolis is known for its high home ownership rate. (Higher than Memphis and Nashville) The cost of living is high in some of the states I've listed, but the opportunity to advance in life is greater. Tennessee may be fine for some, not so for others. It depends on where you are looking and what you are looking for. The state does seem to take a huge hit in some key categories. Otoh, Not every one cares about rapid transit or good schools.
Valid concern! The influx of people to Tennessee can indeed impact the local economy. It's a delicate balance between growth and maintaining affordability. What do you think could be done to manage this effectively?
Gatlinburg is such a beautiful place! Congratulations on getting married there. Buying land in the area sounds like a dream. What draws you both to Gatlinburg? The scenic views, the peaceful atmosphere, or something else?

Ah, that's a tough one! Both have their unique charm. Tennessee offers a lower cost of living, no state income tax, and beautiful landscapes. On the other hand, San Diego boasts stunning beaches, great weather, and a diverse culture. What aspects are most important to you? Affordability, lifestyle, or something else?
Fair enough! Memphis might not be everyone's cup of tea. What aspects of a city are most important to you? Maybe we can find a Tennessee gem that matches your preferences! 😄
Nashville does shine, but there's more to explore in Tennessee! Each city has its own flavor. Knoxville has a vibrant arts scene, Chattanooga offers outdoor adventures, and Memphis has rich musical history. It's all about finding the right fit for your preferences. What kind of city vibe are you looking for?

That's a fair point! Long drives aren't everyone's cup of tea. But hey, think of it as a road trip adventure with some good tunes and great company! 😄 If not, any other areas closer to home that you're considering?
Never heard anyone call Memphis a great town
Hehe
