Sometimes jail is the only answer. Jail plus restitution order is the only way to go.

Honestly I charge 20 to 30 percent extra every time I need to shop for the customer. Sounds fair to me

The absolute cheapest windows you could’ve gone with lmao. I refuse to sell those to a customer who wants to put them in their own house because the sashes literally fall out from nothing

How i wish you could go more into detail about the theft and arrangement

Theft simple over bid or faked the invoices and pocket the difference. I.e this order of plywood is 10k price really 5k. They would pocket difference, seems they did it on a smaller amount added 100-1000 on each home depot run and pocket the difference. Agreement was demo the garage and all debris on your dime out your pocket and we won't call the cops. Fair deal

@@kabby2022 is that actually theft though? I really don't know the answer. If the dude doing the work and getting the materials says he's charging x amount and you pay him x amount, I fail to see where the theft occurred? Is it shady? Absolutely. But theft? Idk.

@@slicedbread5692 if you don't see the theft than I suggest you get your vision checked. This isn't a sub or something who bidding a job that you can add your markup. Their employed contractor you can't steal from your own company

@@slicedbread5692Well, it WOULD be considered theft in this case because they aren’t charging for labor and they are not distributors for the material. They were sent to a known retailer to pick up the materials. The safer way for the contractor to ensure he’s not getting ripped off, and without having to review transaction receipts for every material run, would be to set up an account with home depot and have the employee at home depot do phone authorizations for payment - A pretty common arrangement at home improvement stores. For it not to be theft, the subs would have to be doing a job, in which they could invoice for travel costs or their time taken out to go to home depot, or the subs would have to be the ones distributing the material, in which overcharging for materials would be considered cost of doing business with them. It all comes down to prior disclosure and transparency in pricing.

Oh no your contractor was putting money in his pocket for material cost?!? lol that’s how the game works. Come to California and try to do what you are doing. No wonder you have to work in this state that isn’t worth a damn to live in.
