Thank you for this! Very helpful insights! I'm new to this and got the Defender TRX4m, and planning to keep it simple like your setup. currently I actually ordered the 40.3:1 injura tranny gears, and those beadlock rims and some brass weights and injura 58mm tires. I'll look more into swapping the bushings soon.
@@jmacsgarage tried to order one from Traxxas today but, not in stock. Instead I ordered the orange aluminum servo mount and hardend axcels. Still need light kit and trailer. It's a fun little rig!
@@jmacsgarage not ten minutes ago I ordered the center axcels in blue. I originally wanted the white body but ended up with blue. The white body will look better with what I've done do far.
I’ve been thinking about an aluminum servo mount too, but I wondered if that plastic flex would protect the servo gears more to absorb stress when you turn the wheel and it hits something immovable. Maybe just wishful thinking and probably over analyzing, but who knows.
I just got this for me and my son. Its amazing out of the box but I will be getting 1. Trailer 2. Traxxas Light Kit 3. Heat sink for the motor 4. beaded tires
I ordered some Injora bead lock wheels like that but they will not tighten down all the way with stock equipment. They were loose and unstable at least on my Defender.
I got the same red ones in his video and i cant fit the stock tires as well. The stock beads are atleast 3-4 mm thick each and the aftermarket accepts a really thin bead between the edge of the rim and the wheel weight. Back to the shop i go, i hear injora tires are a good buy
@@bmtlocksport5587 traxxas wheels are only compatible with traxxas beadlocks...learned it the hard way xD djcrawler is a great tire brand, if you haven't tried them yet
They are a lot of fun. Me and my son play with them for 30 min to an hour and they vary rarely go dead before we are done. They have a good run time. Very cool little trucks
Thank you They did not. I just replaced one at a time. As I removed each bushing I would match it with the bearing. There are only a couple different sizes so it’s not to bad. Hope this helps. Thanks.
You can swap in the lower gears(the crawler gears). That’s the cheapest way to get what you want. Later on if you go brushless you will notice even more and have a lot of top end even with the low gears.

Thank you for reminding me to get bearings, I think I'll get the metal servo mount too.

Sick! Just picked up a defender. I got the steering linkage and the tie rods;). Can’t wait to get modding!
That’s awesome! Those bodies look awesome! Very scale looking! What color did you get?
@@jmacsgarage blue. Blue links and all. Just took it for a spin, all stock. Needs weight in the front. Very impressed for what you get out of the box.
Nice video! I am getting a Defender this weekend. I will probably do everything you suggested.
Thank you! That’s awesome!
Looks good man , I just burnt out my servo on my bronco so it's upgrade time !
The stock ones burn out pretty easy
@@jmacsgarage I just purchased the trx4m bronco and keep hearing about the steering servo issue. How and why is this a problem?
@@StudioMike_AV I just replaced my servo on my blue trx4m , it burned out , I used a emax servo 15 bucks, it's half the price of the stock servo
Pretty nice fleet!
Thank buddy
Cool video! Subscribed. Aluminum servo mount sounds correct. I want to get the light kit too.
Thank you! The light kit is worth it in my opinion. It’s a nice kit.

It would be helpful if you listed the size of the different tires that you bought.
All injora brand. 62mm on the white one, 60mm on the red one.

That’s odd I haven’t had that issue. I like the little guy racing parts stuff as well. More expensive but pretty nice.

How did you manage to cut the fenders off
I Just used lexan scissors and a razor knife.
Great mods. Did the bearings come with an installation diagram?
Thank you

Injora 7kg comes with aluminum mount
What’s the size of the bigger tires.
Nice bro!
Thanks man! I just subscribed to your Channel!

Thanks for the video, can i know from were are the rims
They are injora. I have recently purchase some tires and wheels from little guy racing and those are great as well.
What would you recommend to give me a little more throttle control? I feel like In a bind it’s all or nothing
