Matt, like the content and all, but I noticed you're either using the afterburner too much or you're leaving your airbrakes out for way too long. These are kind of newbie mistakes.
I love that the block 10 and 15 F-16’s are still so competitive
for dog fighting they are arguable the best in the game outside the potential exceptions of the grippen at times and with missiles the su-27
The tigershark needs to be at very high speeds to have a respectable turn rate. You are just smashing W and hoping for the best. Learn your planes before trying to teach your audience
And how often are you at such high speeds in 12.0? Dogfight capability isnt all. Migs and Su's have more trust and better missiles. F16s rince it.

@Valata9 the other dude is right what he's pointing out is that mat is using afterburner the entire time while dogfighting which is a pretty nooby behavior because after burner dosent provide much advantages when it comes to rate fights
@@foxboydestroyer1227 no, not at all. In the mig29 fight for example, you gotta keep afterburner all the time and try to get a higher sustained turn rate at about 800kph, while doing 2c, the mig29 is far better at 1c and close at 2c. So for the f20 the best bet is to force the 2c and try to out rate
Dont go into the 1 Circle it is a rate fighter so stay in 2 Circle you can't keep up with the trust of mig 29 or Su 27
The F-5/F-20 likes to be fast, so keep your 300kt and you will be a very competitiv enemy (treat it like a F-16)
Some people doesn't realise that in Wt every plane is pretty much different.
Mig21 turns the best at around 750kph
The Mirage F1C's can pull 13G-14G's (my personnel best) at higher speeds(Around 1100kph).
I heard that from a lot of ppl the F1C is sh*t while watching them getting slow on purpose.
Off course the Mirage F1 is not designed for low speed dogfights at low altittude.
I slapped a lot of F4's with that plane,but once i lose my speed then its over in SB battles

Okay, I can already see a slew of mistakes made throughout the Mig-29 dogfight along with a few mistakes in the F-15 and a few misconceptions being said (mean no disrespect to MATAWG nor the one's he was dueling).
1: The F-20 actually has pretty good energy retention. Not to the extent of say the F-16 or Mig 29 (any variant), but really good. Honestly its energy retention is that of a F-5, which makes since as for the platform the F-20 is based off of. So in a rate fight it'll be fine for an extended duration against aircraft's that suffer in energy retention such as the Mirage 2k and F-15, however those aircrafts introduce another problem to the F-20 that I'll get to in a later point. So energy retention is pretty good, however other Flight Performance issues emerge that become the real problem for the F-20.
2: The F-20 has one of the worse turn rates. It's turn rate compared to most of what it's up against is straight up worse. Now you may look at other aircraft with horrible turn rates like the F-15, Su-27, Mirage 2k, etc and say that turn rates don't matter much although those other aircrafts bring another thing into the dogfight that the F- 20 doesn't have.
3: 1-circle fighting. The F-20, much like the F-5, is not a good 1-circle fighter. Aircrafts like the F-15, Su-27, Mirage 2k, etc that have mediocre to horrible 2-circle fighting flight performance typically are monsters in the 1-circle fight (F-15, Su-27, and JAS39 being the biggest 1-circle top dogs). So the rare few who can't rate like the F-20 can, will just kick it's butt in another fight of which those aircraft's have the capability to dictate the fight in such a way.
4. T\W, for those who don't know Thrust-to-Weight-Ratio. Now this is the biggest advantage that the F20 has. It's on a very light and small platform with a very powerful F-18 engine that allows it to have insane acceleration......but.....even in this category it'll suffer against a majority of what it goes up against because of 3 aircraft. The F-15, F16, and the Su-27. These 3 aircraft can out accelerate and regain energy stupid fast along with be a majority of the server (be it sim or rb) which takes that title away from the F-20 (would need someone to confirm this, so this is only an educated guess because the F-16 is on this list of better T\W aircraft, but the Mig-29 might be able to be included into this conversation of T\W).
Now I'm not gonna say this video is useless because he does make a decent point of the vertical, constantly being in the defensive, and ultimately most of the bfm dogfights you're gonna have is very similar to the ones in this video. Ones where both you and the enemy slow to a near stall speed, trying to make each other overshoot, and honestly energy is an afterthought. This is more or less what I can gather from watching other fly it, flying it myself, then comparing it towards what I usually fight (I'm an American main so I do have to fight against all of what the F-20 is up against every time I'm in top tier).
Now this is all with the F-20 stuck in top tier only. If it went down to the 3rd gen tier of 11.3, it would be a good aircraft to fly. The F-5 is already the most maneuverable aircraft in that tier, the weaponry used by the F-20 is already in that tier on other fighters and even CAS, and lets not forget the small amount of countermeasures it gets to use when against IRCCM missiles. It would barely affect the 11.3 bracket, be fun to fly, and migh even be worth the money to buy it.
Each plane has there weaknesses and advantages never underestimate the other plane

Hey Matt great video, console is suffering from the new update as their are a lot of bugs and glitch’s going on. Don’t know if anyone is but I have had a lot of problems with the fuel slider, the new tv guided bomb launch thing and the tac view not working on console got no idea what’s going on. Not really liking the update so far. Again great vid.👍

Now that even the F-20 can ride the F-15s ass in a consistant basis, can we actually get the F-15C? or we have to wait another millenia to get an actual F-15 with meta avionics?
Why are u pushing a one circle? The whole point of the tigershark in a dogfight is its excellent energy retention. In a sustained rate fight it should beat the mig29 and maybe the f16, even if it loses the first few turns.
mig29 maybe, f16 no. defyn and others have done tests and the f16 beats the f20 in a sustained fight.
F20 loses to all 12.0 fighters in two circles, most 11.3 fighters and some 11.0 with exceptions being mig-29's, tornados, barak, phantoms

honest opinion, mat didnt use the jet how it's supposed to be used in this video, however that doesn't mean that if used correctly you'll wipe the floor with toptier jets, the thing is better than showcased here, but not material for 12.0, put it at 11.7
You want to put it at a lower BR than a f14b, at a br where it can see the British sea harriers? Are you actually slow?
@@antimatter4733so by that logic the mirage 2k thats at 11.7 should also be put to 12.0? because it faces a subsonic? buddy, the harrier gets aim9ms, great avionics(f18 radar) and a shit ton of flares in the bol pods, sure the f20 can run loops around it, but one wrong move and the f20 has a 9m up its ass, point is, f20 is great at being a dogfighter, but not great at being a toptier jet, its got aim9L's competing against magic2's,9m's,r73's...., its got 45 countermeasures which is barely enough for a full match in rb, not enough for sb, you're looking at the only thing it's good at and thats dogfighting, every con about the jet you just ignore
not to mention the bvr capability, where if you want to do bvr you have to give up 2 of your heatseekers, and even then you get aim7's that can't connect unless the target moves in a straight line

F20 needs 9M's for the wingtips if staying at 12.0 or drop to 11.7/3.
USA has no fighters even in the tech tree with 9Ls below 11.7 it would be out of place

Of course it needs to be 12.0, i also don't understand why the mirage 2000 is 11.7 or the F15 12.3, that being said, this plane is already a pain in the ass, specially when you have a downtier with it, 11.0 planes cannot keep up with it, i know it can suffer at 12.7 but even with that, if you change your playstyle and ambush people. you can do wonders with it.
With ambush style you can do wonders with everything. Especially in SB
