    BTW LifeHackster, All of Reolink's camera and NVR boxes come with seals/stickers on top that say "DO NOT ACCEPT IF SEAL IS BROKEN" yet all someone has to do is unfold the bottom flaps of the box and access the contents inside leaving the main top seal intact. Then just fold the box flaps back up negating the purpose of the main seal. Next time you speak with Reolink you should mention they should seal the bottom of their boxes perhaps as well as the top. Security companies should always be mindful of the "backdoor". Just a thought. 🤔

    I have the PoE version and I like it. I'm just waiting on Reolink to provide an update to their Reolink Client so that I can access both the 4K and 1080p feed when the client is connected to the reolink NVR. Currently I need to connect directly to the Trackmix instead of the NVR to have access to both feeds.

    I have track mix cause of your channel... I wanted another one for my back yard and was going to get a Nvr and a poe version of Track mix for yard.. then this came out.... My only grip is that that battery will drain very fast if there alot of Motion in yard.. IE birds,. squirrel's , cats ,dogs. rabbits , crooks. I like to see you mount this on your shed with the up and coming solar panel and see how it performs long term.. Great review as always and Props to Reolink for this new camera which im a big fan of Ring Who?

    @LifeHackster I have the POE version. You should double-check how the “Auto return to monitor point” works. Try this with “Pan/tilt tracking first”: Walk in front of the camera and have it track you away from the monitor point. Stand there until the auto return to monitor point “Interval” ends. Does the camera stay on you or does it return to the monitor point? What do you think it should do?

    • @LifeHackster
      @LifeHackster  Год назад +1

      It is motion based so, if you stop moving, then it thinks motion has stopped and it will go back to the monitor point. Adjust the motion sensitivity to dial in how soon it will do it.

    I think I'll stick with the Reolink Trackmix POE version and RLC-823A POE for my PTZ needs and the Eufy S40 for my wireless solar needs for now. Would only get this version if a specific need called for it as the best/only security option.

    For me the battery powered camera is a back up for the poe nvr camera's that won't do anyone any good when the power goes out. The battery camera will still record to the memory card &, if fitted with a sim card, send messages &video to mobile phones &/or cloud accounts.

    Hey buddy, after it has tracked the motion event does it return to the home position automatically or do you need to manually reset it? How does the PIR register on this model? Reliable most of the time? I see the range is good. Keep up the good work, your reviews are what I 100% go by.

    • @LifeHackster
      @LifeHackster  Год назад +3

      You can set the time( secs) to when it will go back to the home position. As to the PIR sensor is pretty good but you do have to crank up the sensitivity to 100 and the person detection to 100 also for it to detect you at around 40 feet. No false notifications in this setting but I’m guessing it kills the battery quick. Thanks for watching.

    • @darksaigon

      it does, but overtime it will not. and you will have to reset it over and over...It is happening to both my trackmix (they are barely a few weeks old on the latest firmware). Reolink admitted thru emails it is an issue they have been trying to resolve for months. not sure if they will fix it.

  • @75inka2002

    Just installed the TrackMix Wifi, good overall but the night vision leaves a lot to be desired and I didn't realize that the TrackMix PTZ would set Preset points, but there is NO patrol capability which is a deal breaker for our application. One has to wonder WHY they didn't include it from the start! Guess I should have watched your video twice before buying, lol. Thank you for great reviews of the different manuf and models!!!
    Question on the 823A wall mounting bracket, is it's mounting bracket footprint wider than the TrackMix??? Hoping to replace the TrackMix with it but the width of our mounting spot is pretty tight.

    I owned two of those Reolink Trackmix Wifi on the latest firmware and both get stuck after a while and refused to go back to the reset monitor position, you have to either recalibrate it or you have to reconfigure it to reset the position. It is a flaw because I have reached to their customer service and admitted that it has been an issue for MONTHS and their R&D is aware of this. I even told them I was going to get a replacement thru amazon, and they told me it wouldnt matter because it is happening to all of them ( most likely a software issue). They are trying to offer me a compensation instead of trying to return it. Now my question is , is this happening to the other PTZ models as well? they did not answer that and im waiting to get transfer (email) to their RMA department? It has great hardware in comparison to Ring, but this flaw on the MAIN feature (tracking) makes it almost useless especially if the camera tracks and gets stuck toward the wall for the entire night, good luck capturing anything after that.

    At night with the lights on the camera turned on it's pretty good. Night vision is pretty good too for a wifi camera. Maybe if they have wifi 6e with 6 ghz in the future it can have better bandwidth and low latency like POE. Need foam on the mic to deal with buffering issues. Looks like this is battery version for power too so notification slower, ideally better to have wired power.

    DON'T BUY! I am sending mine back after 2 days... If you dont have at least 3 hrs of direct sunlight... no clouds, it won't charge enough to make it through the night.. A full charged battery, if you turn off the pir tracking , will go about 20 hrs.. from that point it must be charged with a wall wart. The panel (6w) will charge the camera between 30-35% with 3 hrs of direct sunlight. I am suprised all the reviews didnt catch this or just glossed over it... If you want the wifi cam get the one you plug in. or if you have the equipment POE. I am sending the battery version back and bought both the wifi and the POE versions. Hopefully Ill have better results.... BTW my autotracking quit working after 6 hrs

Ugh am I making a bad decision and should I cancel the alarm system, too? I have no outdoor cams at all and was sold on having it all in one. I like being able to use the gutter mounts until I can get someone out to do a CCTV. In Spring. 🫤🫤🫤

    • @LifeHackster
      @LifeHackster  Год назад

      Ring is a pretty good system. Their alarm works and with the PRO base station, you will also have an internet backup in your home if electricity and internet are out. The spotlight cam plus is also still good and they are currently on sale which should be the MSRP of this camera in my opinion .The Spotlight Cam PRO on the other hand is the one that its price doesn't justify its extra debilitating features ( Bird's Eye View). Wired or CCTV NVR systems are still the best though as to security cameras, there is just a bit of work to do when wiring them.
