In theory it should do but only if you can install them perfectly. Something I unfortunately wasn’t able to do

Dust will still get in cosidering the back is still open.

That’s a smart idea actually. I was thinking of no nailing an L bracket to the top of the window (on the inside) and then screwing it into the kallax so the original fixings will still hold it in place while the bracket makes it sturdier and if I wanted to open it I could just swing up for the bottom
