I may be wrong, but at the start when you were reading the instructions, I could of sworn you said "to use the screwdriver to remove the round part" which to me meant the black circle. I have no idea if the m2 has a screw behind that circle or if it's only for the m2 conversion that you out a screw there, but it seemed like that was what the instructions were talking about. other than that, good instructional video.
@@MyTechGearGamingNooo...There is a screw behind the black discs. Take the black discs off. Remove the screw that is behind each disc. Then you can use the screw driver, guitar pick, or plastic shell opener (looks like a large guitar pick) to slip under the white plastic and separate it from the black part of the arm. Then take out the three screws.
@patrickcasey3973 that’s not what the instructions said. I’ll post a copy of them on the community page so people can see them for themselves and hopefully that helps clarify some of the steps for people.
@@MyTechGearGamingFair enough. I just read your post of the instructions. I think they should definitely be re-written. I 3D printed adapters for my headset and installed them using the method I described. The adapter I printed re-uses the main arm, so not breaking things was a priority.
I watched a related video, but to take the old plastic arms off using a flat tipped screw driver and gently prying near the bottom of the white plastic should prevent from destroying it
Are you looking at the retrofit kit of the m1 to m2 or m2 to m3? The first one didn’t come with the black arms as it wasn’t needed. The new m2 to m3 kit does come with the black arms as they’re needed because the arms on the headset of the quest 3 are different to the ones on the quest 2.
I've been hearing a lot of issues with the type of batteries that will work with the Quest 3.. how does the B2 battery fair from usage? Is 5200 mah good enough? You mentioned that it's open for debate at the moment?..
The battery is fine in so much that it works. The issue is that it doesn’t provide enough power to keep your headset fully charged. However, that’s more complicated than it sounds as the headset decides how much power it needs, and that need varies depending on what it’s doing and also whether it’s thermal managing itself or not. Even when plugging the headset straight into a mains plug you will see the wattage being pulled vary. So, short story is that the battery will extend your playtime it’s just that how much it extends it will just depend on what you’re doing.
@@MyTechGearGaming Well I haven't yet got a quest 3 yet.. but I did get another Bobovr B2 battery for my Quest 2. Seems like I can bring over the headset to the Q3 without too much issues..
They were in stock when I released the video. Black Friday and Cyber Monday sales has meant that a lot of companies are out of stock on Amazon now though. Give it time and they'll be back in stock.
Oh so it's okay to destroy the white thing since you're replacing it anyway. I almost clicked off from this video. Can the M2 Pro strap keep the Quest 3 charged or does the headset drain faster than it charges?
Yes, you're replacing the white brackets so if they break it's not an issue. The battery issue is complicated, but in general the quest 3 consumes more power than the quest 2 so you will see any battery drain quicker on the quest 3 compared to the quest 2.
Might be worth aiming a hairdryer or something at those white parts for a while before taking them off, they should be a little more pliable when warmed.
flat head is for removing the sticker over the screw hole... it's not for breaking the strap...

The instructions were to use the screwdriver to pry the arm cover off the headset. Sorry if it wasn’t clear.

lol, I guess bobovr need to update their instruction leaflet then if they meant the circle 😂😂

just 3d print it 😁

It looks like you are breaking just the beauty cover tho cant say for sure
Do the A2 speakers fit on this? I have M2 Pro with the A2 speakers and love the audio.
Just looked on Amazon and the official Bobovr conversion kit doesn't show it coming with the two black replacement arms?..

Why the M2 doesn't fit Quest 3 right the bat?, are Quest 3 side arms thicker or thinner?
The Quest 3 sidearms are just a different shape to those on the Quest 2 so the Quest 2 head straps aren't compatible with the quest 3.
does this work with the non battery version of the m2?
It should do as the only difference between the battery and non battery version is the added battery pack.

There is a quest 2 to quest 3 conversion kit you can buy for the m2 strap( I did a review on it ).
@@MyTechGearGaming Yep, seen that video :D Glad bobovr designed a conversion kit. Would be annoying having to buy a whole new setup
Good luck finding the M3 Pro Retrofit Kit.

They're still in stock if you buy it from their website.
you can do that too! 😊
