DAM bro, a lot of information passed on in a summarized, practical and quick way. I can't believe that in 25 minutes you tested, compared, showed how it works and unboxed everything. Incredible.
@kelvinSLC glad it was helpful! Yeah it definitely was quite the process to get it all in 25mins. I think I had about 8hrs of raw footage to start from
That S3 pro head strap is a game changer. I love it so much. I've got a couple of batteries and the battery dock, and frequently play for 4+ hours, at the end of which usually everything is close to fully charged. I never plug my headset in anymore, a fresh battery charges the quest faster than you can discharge the internal battery by alot, and the charge dock charges the batteries faster than you can discharge them. It's really crazy. Plus it's super comfy.
@TurkishKS could you give me the link(s) for the products you bought? I’ve been planning on getting multiple batteries for my quest 3 but I can’t find a charging dock for the bobovr batteries.
How is it in more physically intensive games? The biggest concern I have with halo straps is that it'd constantly wobble and make the experience uncomfortable or worse fall off my head and break the quest. I'm talking about games like eleven table tennis or creed or those fitness games where you are constantly moving around, ducking, punching, etc. Can the S3 be strapped so tight that it stays on securely and not wobble? If it can is it comfortable or does it feel like it's crushing your head? Can it be used for watching movies laying down? Can I just move the back part upwards and have the quest just lay on my face? Or do I have to change to stock strap any time I want to watch a movie on the bed?
The S3 Headstrap was the biggest game changer for me. Have a Quest 3, been playing since Quest 2. Always had a headache problem because the headsets would press on my eye/brow region like a diving mask and constrict my blood flow, which gave me headaches and made things very hot and uncomfortable. I bought the best, smoothest, coolest facepads and even those did not fully remedy this comfort issue. I bought an S3 Headstrap. I realized it sits securely on top of my head like a light hat, instead of pressing the headset onto my face area like a diving mask. So I just removed my facepad completely and let the headstrap hold the Quest 3 in front of my eyes, kinda like night vision goggles. It works perfectly. The Quest 3 screen floats right in front of my eyes. The screen is also much closer to my eyes due to no face cushion, so I have more FOV and immersion. And the best part is - my headaches are completely gone with nothing pressing on my face! And the S3 is not wobbly like that - it can easily hold the Quest 3 just at the forehead/headband area alone. It's like wearing a light hat/band. Plus there is better air flow due my eyes not being sealed inside a face pad. Now there is some light bleed of course, but it doesn't bother me nearly as much as the headaches and poor comfort did. And if I really want to block the light - I just wrap a buff/cloth around the gaps, works quite well!
@@JustinTechTips For me I wasn't really getting that much hype from the recent VR games especially on PC VR as well as the different draw backs that I've been seeing coming from the PSVR2 just didn't do it for me but now seeing this video and the other different games out there. Here's a little tip: I got the Quest 2 carrying case for my Quest 3, and it fits perfectly. You still have enough space for accessories, and it's significantly cheaper than the Quest 3 carrying case.
I pimped my 512GB Quest 3 with an Aubika Battery Strap, AMVR Facial Interface, Maecker VR knuckle grips, Hons VR magnetic prescription lenses and Quest Games Optimiser. I can 100% recommend all of these accessories The Quest Games Optimiser is probably the best $10 you can spend on any Quest HMD.

Your 100% right..however the forctube is a must to me bc paired with the vest it takes immersion to another level on my main shooter which is Contractors anyway. So it's worth it to me.

@@JustinTechTipsI’m getting this for Christmas, I can’t wait to see that silly little quest 3 box! I’m upgrading from my quest 2 considering my microphone is horrilble, my freinds say it sounds like a rift s mic
as someone who used a link cable for half a year for pcvr just use virtual desktop or steam link both are good, steam link is definitely more ease of use but virtual desktop is abit better graphics wise tho more finicky trying to get everything right. steam link on the other hand is alot easier to use as you dont need to launch steam vr it just boots it up for you. all in all virtual desktop for quality steam link for performance. P.S. vd has way more settings to mess with to make it better, but never ever use the oculus app its just bad
Was nervous about getting a VR because i have little to no knowledge on the brands or differences. Thank you for the confidence boost that i can rely on someone to give me the info i need and not take advantage of my ignorance!
Juat wanted to say that the video was well done. I purchased the KKCOVR headset attachment and have to say that it was game changing. One thing you don't mention is that you can remove the facial interface for that style of attachment, which completely eliminates fogging and allows you to be aware of your surroundings. Especially great for heavy excersize games. Now I only need to get an IR emmiter for playing in the dark.
@ThatRandomDude914 lol it is my work though so I do fortunately get to write of these expenses :) Yeah I know there are some PCVR headsets that are better than the Quest 3 and a lot more expensive. Which one do you like the best?
Awesome video! Something important to note about the "Elite Strap with Battery" from Meta tho is that it's the only one that really extends the battery life and doesn't work like a powerbank! Because with the others, you're constantly charging up the battery of the Quest itself, while with this one, it depletes its own battery first, and only then will the internal battery of the headset be used. This is the only reason I myself chose to use it over every other strap, even with it being that much more expensive. I also do not have any issues with the comfort tbh.
I've been using the Quest 3 with my RTX 4080 Super Gaming PC via virtual desktop for almost a year now and its been awesome since then! I also really love the upper body tracking with Virtual Desktop for FBT. Mixed with 2 slimeVR trackers for legs its INSANE!
I got a pair of Soundcore VP10s and 3 dongles from Amazon this week, and I was worried when I heard what you said about no pass-through charging, but mine actually work! Not sure what your source is, but apparently the Amazon models are fine now. Thanks for the great overview! 😊
I'm pretty certain the reason the quest 3 charging station didn't have a charging block was because you were supposed to use the one included with the headset.
I've been watching videos to check whether if i should get one of this to xbox game pass on my lobby, and work 8hs a day coding with three monitors instead of buying 'em. This is the perfect video review and you were pretty clear on what does and what doesn't go with it, this video it's a 100/10 and you've earned my sub as a like! thanks!
Quick question about the Azure 2, Will it be able to handle games like apex legends, COD Warzone, 3 and other titles at over 100 fps on max settings at 1440p. (Or even medium settings im not picky, also sorry for it not being a vr question but im upgrading from a $500 laptop to the azure 2 so I just need a little clarification, Thanks)
@Darkest_Hour590 Yep it will! As long as you get at least this version of the Azure 2 or higher bit.ly/SkytechAzure-2 . That version is the one I tested and at max settings at 1440p COD BO4 got 260fps, COD MW2 got 127fps, and even Cyberpunk got 113fps. I didn't specifically test Warzone but it's very similar. Apex Legends will be cake compared to those games
He said multiple times he wasn't sponsored by Meta so that he could give an honest review, then he barely reviews the headset and shills dozens of products where he does get kick-backs. Imagine honestly recommending people buy haptic vests and faceplate covers. Furthermore, 90% of the comments on this video say some form of, "good video" which doesn't sound natural to me at all.
@beeilve it’s obvious by the thumbnail it’s mostly an accessory review. Amazon gives kickbacks on everything so every product is on an equal level. You have to be an incredibly ignorant person to believe me saying the majority of this is not worth the money is “shilling”.
@@JustinTechTips And at the end you do recommend something from every type of accessory. There's conveniently always something to buy. How absurd would it be to recommend literally everything? That's not a compelling argument that this video isn't shilling.
@@beeilve rarely waste my time with ignorance but just in case there’s anyone reading your nonsense here’s a more detailed argument.. I did not recommend the lightsaber attachments haptic guns or the elite strap which would have made me the most money because it’s the most expensive. I’ve spent about $4k on this video, how dare I hope people use my links to show support for all the $ spent and time spent testing and comparing everything. Shilling removes the bad and only talks about the good. There’s not one thing I said in this video that was false or misleading. Hating just to hate doesn’t make you sound cool or smart, just makes you sound ignorant. Recommending products I liked is a pretty lame argument for shilling in general
It's by far better and I would recommend it for anyone considering upgrading. As of now, there are no games made just for quest 3, so you don't notice huge differences in graphics and textures, but once some titles come out for the quest 3 specifically, the graphical upgrades it will be much more noticeable. The main improvements I have noticed are comfort, clarity, and computing power. The headset is much more comfortable and causes much less strain on your eyes, everything looks much sharper and more clear (there are a lot less pixels visible) and thanks to the enhanced computing power, you can see much farther in games, objects that are far away look much more clear, it runs smoother, and it can have more on the screen at once. Definitely worth it and it's only gonna get better
The m3 was my favorite headstrap for my q2, I use a cord and charge it so It has inf battery but the problem of not getting charge fast enough is definitely a real problem, now that I have longer gaming sessions I'm starting to have that problem more. I wanna get the s3 pro now and this made me want it more
@Ubankaja So glad the time and effort put into this is being appreciated! Sometimes as RUclipsrs we wonder if we are just obsessing over certain videos too much
This video came to my recommendation at the right time. I have saved enough money to get the Quest 3 plus some accessories. I am really excited to get it
Awesome, awesome review. Unlike most "vs" review videos, this one actually felt like it made sense. On a side note, that box trick with the Amazon screen was top shelf!
Incredible video!!!! I can’t believe all the money and time you spent doing this very thorough review. I was looking forward to you reviewing facial interfaces since that is almost as important as the headstrap. The Oblik custom made interface is the most expensive but gives you the best comfort, FOV, and the vents are perfect with the BOBOVR S3. Other than that, what a great review!
@Eagledocstew Thank you so much! Yeah it hurt in the beginning spending so much time and money on something but I have hope that this one will help pay all that back. If people remember to use my links if they decide to get something.
personally for quest 2 headstraps u can probably get for quest 3 is the vive deluxe audio strap and its done me so good you just need a simple attachment for it to work on the quests
Props to the amazing video. I've found myself coming back to this time and time again when I'm considering to buy a new quest accessory. This is truly an ULTIMATE review!!
When my dad bought me the headset i didnt choose the headstrap so he got me the kawaye battery headstrap, ive been liking it and even my friend wants to get it since it can connect to his quest 2 and he can finally have an extended battery too!
Wow great video super detailed highly efficient and also lots of testing something that heavily lacks in traditional vr reviewers. All love to them but most of the, are just dads who are hanging around. This video how ever is very technical with great data.
@@JustinTechTips yeah, bought a cheap ass 3$ silicone pad and it makes a huge difference.. not better than a real headstrap but i dont want to change it out every dam time i feel like laying down, which i do a lot
Great vid man. It shows the halo style head straps are the most comfortable. VR is very exciting at the moment, so much innovation, need some big studios to get behind games though, HL Aylx is 5 years old!
5:21 and 6:18 I dont think it was for the wrist strap, I think it was for the IR sensor to track the controllers to make sure the controllers don't lose tracking
I’m planning on getting a Q3. I have the Rift S, but I’m going to hang onto it since my wife wants to get into vr. Figured set her up with a steam and meta account so we can both play some games together. Or to see if she really likes VR before I buy her a Q3 too. She’s tried once or twice the last 4-5 years, but it was a bit overwhelming for her. But she had fun the times she did play
This is the best review I’ve seen. So much info delivered at such a good pace. Could have stretched this into 10 different videos to milk the content (glad you didn’t)!
I caved and got the official battery strap and honestly It's pretty nice. More comfortable than any 3rd party strap I've used (even the bobovr strap, I cannot stand the forehead contact.) The back has some heft to it and this relieves a lot of the weight on my face. As for it only charging to 70%, this does not affect battery life whatsoever: keeping the battery below 70% while charging is essential for the health and longevity of your headset battery. If you know anything about batteries, the Quest will lose its ability to retain a charge if kept constantly plugged in at 100%
Yo bro, amazing vid but can you PLEASE make another video for budget PC cause I'm really REALLY stuck there and I can't find or know how to find anything good but under 1500$
@SkullGuy123 Thank you! For a budget under 1500 I'd go with this one bestbuy.7tiv.net/damqJ3 . If you can squeeze a bit further to $1700 this Skytech Azure 2 will be quite a bit faster bit.ly/SkytechAzure-2 . That one just recently dropped $300. It was $2000
I was eyeballing the Bobovr S3 Pro for awhile, and I've been using it extensively for a month or two. I'm glad I chose it after seeing your review of the other ones out there. Its absolutely fantastic. The comfort is almost perfect, the battery endurance is fantastic. I have noticed that like some of them, it doesn't seem to charge the Quest fast enough to avoid draining the battery during use, but as long as you make sure the Quest is charged prior to use, it shouldn't be an issue. Absolutely worth the cost of admission.
@@JustinTechTips to be honest i haven't paid attention but it wouldn't shock me if it's the more demanding games like Hellsweeper, Into the Radius, etc. VR Chat will occasionally have this issue, especially in public lobbies with lots of demanding avatars that chew up a lot of memory. But it's usually something like 10% drain for 2hrs of use for me. I just throw it back on my dock and let it and the controllers top back up. Have you had similar experiences with specific games?
@test1223. Thank you so much! I really appreciate that! I wish I could do videos this big all the time but it just takes so much time that I would probably only be able to do one every other month
I wonder if this video made Soundcore update their Amazon ear buds? I just ordered a pair a few hours ago and they're listed as the ones with pass through charging.
I have a challenge for you get a 3D printed adapter to use the Apple Vision Pro head strap on the quest 3 I did that project and I don’t regret the $100 price tag for the headstrap
Awesome video man! I have been using my quest 3 for 5 days now and I gotta say it's a blast! I'm thinking of getting the bobovr s3 pro headstrap since the default one sucks Like I said great video!
Excellent! I'll soon need a new eyeglass Rx and will use that as an opportunity to upgrade from the Quest 2. However... I know right off the bat y'gotta get some upgrades and add-ons!
@@JustinTechTips Not the Rx, which is from a regular optometrist, but the lens inserts I have (twice now) are from VR Wave. My aging eyes are rather awful. I now need three sets of progressives... one for driving/distance, one for the computer/desk, and one for close up/reading. For the VR I use the distance Rx from the driving/distance set. I'm a bit past due upgrading, and when I do that will by my cue to also upgrade to the Quest 3... with some of your suggestions for the strap and so on.
Great video! Thanks for all the hard work you put into it! I haven't made the jump to the Q3, but your hands-on reviews are invaluable to someone getting ready to make a purchase :-D
Something you didnt mention but bobovr sells a battery kit so you can instal the better battery on the cheaper headstrap . They also sell a quest 2 to quest 3 conversiont kit. Im coming from a quest 2 so i just got the conversion kit and the battery kit. Bow im rocking the m2 headstrap on a quest 3 with the newest quest 3 batteries
absolutely ridiculous and insane video that is heaps of leaps ahead of all reviews out there. Only omision is gaming laptops and a review of vr pc software. Zoinks!
I think your Binbok battery strap might have been faulty..? Mine works fine, stick the battery to it, and the Quest 3 charges and stays charged, no problem. Keep in that that for some stupid reason, the battery can be connected upside down, which won't charge the headset! On the topic of Binbok, an excellent alternative to the official dock is Binbok's. It's pretty much the only one that has the same slim "controllers side-by-side with the headset" design, but more importantly, it's MUCH cheaper. It also doesn't go to pieces if you try to charge a headset with a battery strap, since it can tilt so it stays connected! There's also LEDs, so it looks like it's being charged via some sci-fi anti-gravity tech, which is neat.
@fireaza thank you for sharing your experience with it! I saw some reviews that had similar issues to mine so it made me believe that they were common issues but I'm glad yours is working well for you! I'll have to check out the Binbok dock. It makes me happy seeing this video is becoming a nice little hub for people to share other products people might be interested in! :)
i want to mention really quick: with the power dock, they assume you already have the headset. the headset comes with that 18w adapter. so, they assume that you'll use that or buy the 45w.

as someone who used a link cable for half a year for pcvr just use virtual desktop or steam link both are good, steam link is definitely more ease of use but virtual desktop is abit better graphics wise tho more finicky trying to get everything right. steam link on the other hand is alot easier to use as you dont need to launch steam vr it just boots it up for you. all in all virtual desktop for quality steam link for performance. P.S. vd has way more settings to mess with to make it better, but never ever use the oculus app its just bad
@krimson_necrosis8242 which PCVR games do you play the most?
Was nervous about getting a VR because i have little to no knowledge on the brands or differences. Thank you for the confidence boost that i can rely on someone to give me the info i need and not take advantage of my ignorance!
I have the bin bok head strap. I have been using it for 9 months and think it works great!
@survivemichsurvivemich4280 oh dang.. Not even any weird quality issues on the tightening nob?
@JustinTechTips No. And I use it everyday
@mikemcgeary2306 thanks man! Yeah I thought about testing out IR emmiters as well but the video was just getting too long
Great video! Quick breakdowns/recommendations. I subbed and will be using your links for some purchases. Keep it up!
@Isidore22 thank you for remembering to use my links!
This has to be one of the best, straight to the point reviews I've ever seen
@stinkysocka1291 thanks man!
Don’t let this guy fool you. He did all of this to say his Quest 3 is the best and spend 15 hours in VR and call it for “work purposes”
@ThatRandomDude914 lol it is my work though so I do fortunately get to write of these expenses :) Yeah I know there are some PCVR headsets that are better than the Quest 3 and a lot more expensive. Which one do you like the best?
Have you ever played on a quest 3 or 2 its awesome for a grate price
Your intro is excellent! It isn't a waste of time and it tells me exactly what I need to keep watching. Thank you!
@renegadewolfhound8786 Thank you! Yeah I tried to make it shorter but I just really wanted everyone to know what all this video had to offer
I’m doing chores for my quest 3 I’m so close to getting it
@BlueberryrainVR nothing better than saving up for something you've worked so hard for and finally getting it!
@@JustinTechTips for real!
@@Zippy_GTVR agree
Awesome video! Something important to note about the "Elite Strap with Battery" from Meta tho is that it's the only one that really extends the battery life and doesn't work like a powerbank! Because with the others, you're constantly charging up the battery of the Quest itself, while with this one, it depletes its own battery first, and only then will the internal battery of the headset be used. This is the only reason I myself chose to use it over every other strap, even with it being that much more expensive. I also do not have any issues with the comfort tbh.
@Bl4ckcr0wned thanks for that detailed comment! I'm sure there will be quite a few people that will help
still use my quest 2 might get a new one soon

@Flaredamonk what's been your favorite game on the Quest 2 so far
@@JustinTechTips recroom,beatSaber,gorilla tag,downshotvr,meta horizon worlds. And a lot more
I've been using the Quest 3 with my RTX 4080 Super Gaming PC via virtual desktop for almost a year now and its been awesome since then! I also really love the upper body tracking with Virtual Desktop for FBT. Mixed with 2 slimeVR trackers for legs its INSANE!
"Always use Protection" yeahh...
I got a pair of Soundcore VP10s and 3 dongles from Amazon this week, and I was worried when I heard what you said about no pass-through charging, but mine actually work! Not sure what your source is, but apparently the Amazon models are fine now. Thanks for the great overview! 😊
@kwameryan yeah someone said they updated the listing after I posted this review
I'm pretty certain the reason the quest 3 charging station didn't have a charging block was because you were supposed to use the one included with the headset.
@Sasha10134 yeah but I feel like for something that expensive it should include the 45watt recommended one they mentioned.
I've been watching videos to check whether if i should get one of this to xbox game pass on my lobby, and work 8hs a day coding with three monitors instead of buying 'em.
This is the perfect video review and you were pretty clear on what does and what doesn't go with it, this video it's a 100/10 and you've earned my sub as a like! thanks!
@matias.montenegro Awesome! Thanks for the sub! And welcome to the channel :)
@@JustinTechTips thank you so much, your a huge help. Also keep up the w vids
That’s the most honest review I’ve ever seen
Upload more please bro!
Yeah there will definitely be more frequent uploads now that this big one is finished. This one took an insane amount of time to test and finish
As someone who has played on quest 2 for forever and has a quest 3 arriving in a few hours this could it have been more perfect
@cason5791 nice! What do you think of it now that you've used it for about a month now?
Great review. Thanks you!
@brianmolony thanks man! Glad you liked it!
The m3 was my favorite headstrap for my q2, I use a cord and charge it so It has inf battery but the problem of not getting charge fast enough is definitely a real problem, now that I have longer gaming sessions I'm starting to have that problem more.

If you know anything about batteries, the Quest will lose its ability to retain a charge if kept constantly plugged in at 100%
Yeah I've heard that. I prefer for it to still go to 100% though and then give me a notification so I unplug it
A lot of efforts went in this video and for that you owned a sub.

@bansheebacklash3730 do you notice you are playing similar games when the headset drains faster?
@@JustinTechTips to be honest i haven't paid attention but it wouldn't shock me if it's the more demanding games like Hellsweeper, Into the Radius, etc. VR Chat will occasionally have this issue, especially in public lobbies with lots of demanding avatars that chew up a lot of memory. But it's usually something like 10% drain for 2hrs of use for me. I just throw it back on my dock and let it and the controllers top back up. Have you had similar experiences with specific games?
This is such amazing work on this video! Keep it up! 🌟🎥 You’re doing a fantastic job, and I'm really impressed by your effort and creativity ❤

@nsbd90now where do you get you eyeglass Rx for VR?

Now you can turn yourself to meta quest 3. 😎 (amazing products btw, hope you will like them!)
@nugetdot I liked most of them :)
