In fact without the facial interface (Pro style) you can get closer to the lenses until you can see the sides of the LCD displays. Hi Jay. Great video by the way.
I got my M2 to M3 conversion kit a few days ago, I love it, the face pad went from being "abrasive" with the cloth strap to feeling pretty good with the M2-3 strap. LOL
As for the battery thing, I use my Quest 3 mostly for PCVR so I've set my HMD to 90hz (it defaulted to 120hz), I also turned off passthrough and hand tracking and Bluetooth. My BoBoVR batteries are all 2.6 amps and very often, they will charge the Quest 3 while I use it in PCVR (Virtual Desktop) and am happy with the battery life I'm getting. Agreed, once you start doing MR/AR, with all the Quest 3 features turned on, the BoBoVR batteries don't last very long not to mention the Q3's internal battery. For PCVR, I am very happy with the Quest 3, love the edge to edge clarity of the new optics, the increase in FOV is a pleasant bonus. So far, I am impressed with my Q3 with M2-3 strap!!!! :)

It alerted me today and I was greatful for it. By the way. I make sure to keep the headset fully charged and I only lose between 1 to 5 percent headset battery playing through a full M2 2.6 batterey. I Haven't tested it yet with Virtual desktop. If I plug the quest 3 into its provided power brick with a USB C to USB C cable and use Airlink (Wirelessly) it maintains the charge exactly. It doesn't drop or raise the charge one bit. I tested a higher rated 45w power brick to see if it would charge while using airlink but the result was exactly the same as the provided Q3 power brick.

The Quest 3 draws 18W, to supply 18W you need a battery pack that can supply 3.6A. W/V=I. 18W/5V=3.6. If you buy a 20W battery pack and connect it via USBC PD you won't have an issue with the Quest dying before the battery pack.

Buzzing changed/became less or more intense depending on how much demand was put on the Q3. Switched back to the Elite Battery Strap for now, since that sound just ruins the experience and makes it unusable for me. I've found a few other similar posts with this issue while scouring the internet. I'm hoping there's a solution at some point, since I like the fit/comfort of the BoboVR, and swappable batteries is a huge plus - But seriously considering returning all of it.

I think the problem is that none of the bobo batteries used USB PD of at least 18watts of power. I use a USB PD 20 watt 10,000mah power bank and the battery doesn't drain at all. Even doing PCVR at 120hz. It last about 2 1/2 hours on the power bank alone. And the Q3 battery stays 100% the entire time. Now the battery doesnt go up. It just stays the same.

What I want to know, what does "not working properly" mean? Does it deplete much faster, does it not charge the headset? Logically, what I'd expect happening is the 2,6 A battery would deplete slower, but the headset internal battery would fall to a lower % before the 2,6 A battery is depleted, while the 3.0 A battery would deplete faster but keep the internal battery at a higher % when depleted. This because the 3,0 A delivers more power, and if the Ah is the same, it would deplete faster.

    Hey Jay,
I use the Rebuff Reality VR Power 10k mAh battery pack and I use my Q3 for PCVR 98% of the time and I can keep the battery at whatever % its at the whole time.
If I plug it in at 96%, until that battery dies, it will sit at 96%.
I also have 30k mAh external battery that I keep in my pocket for when that Rebuff dies and that one can hand outputting up to 30W.
I've actually seen my percentage go up while using the Q3 for PCVR with that battery.
You need something with atleast 15W (max the Rebuff can do) to keep a steady charge. This is only an issue with the Q3 since it can sometime pull more than 18w if you are playing Quest games.
I havent tested but im very sure if you use it for PCVR you only need 15W (5V 3A) and you are good to go.
I use AirLink with the slider all the way to the right and 90Hz or VD on Ultra.
You can also turn off the hand tracking if its not something you use often to conserve some battery while gaming.
Hope this helps you and others!!

Had to turn off 120hz and hand tracking to have it keep up...which it does nicely, after 4hrs the quest 3 is only down to 65% Doesn't stop the drain completely, but works! I rarely ever do more than 4hrs at 1 time so this is perfect for me, don't need it to be hot swappable!

0:01 Well, it's not really new, which always can be problematic.
0:37 That is SO MUCH easier now. I always feared I'd break the Q2's arms, because you really had to apply A LOT of violence to get them off...
1:29 Honeycomb above Pleather padding FTW.
2:06 Why is noone talking about how much of the FOV you'll still lose even with the thing shoved up front completely? The brackets totally need cut-outs for the ports, and the left one needs a little more of it for symmetry, because that USB-C port takes up more space than the audio jack.
2:55 OK, you're the first! Thank "meness"! XD
3:04 Wanted to try that as well and wasn't able to shove it around... also, it wouldn't cover up the upper audio openings as much that way.
    3:24 Perfectly valid!
3:39 That's the real issue. They should just have made it similar to the old one, and not the thing sticking out both ways. You'll always have the rear end clearly limiting how far you can lower the HMD. And I can't lower mine as much as I needed to do with the Q2. Blatantly speaking, this is basically the same "garbage" I ran into with the A2, which also wouldn't be able to come down far enough... (also they make the internal fan of the Ques 2 VERY audible and also killing spatial audio, which to be fair, every headphone "solution" does)
    4:06 LOL!
5:01 Weird... thought that was just the Quest while getting charged.
5:59 Same. Even with the drawbacks it has, it's still the best solution out there and I'm happy to have it already!
6:31 Same, especially after looking up (like ~50-60° +).
6:48 That's clearly the main issue. I can easily pull out the facial interface eye relief by one or even two notches with the thing shoved fully forward. But I want the lenses to be up close as much as possible. I actually currently have LESS FOV in the Q3 with the strap than I had in both the Quest 1 and 2! My benchmark is if I can see the left and right bezel borders of the monitor in Virtual Desktop's computer room after recentering without moving my head and the same with the 36° lines in Steam VR when it hasn't loaded Home yet (or you disabled it). In my Quest 3, I can't see the left and right one at the same time, which basically equals a horizontal FOV smaller than 72° (I'm actually shocked, 'cos I totally went into Steam VR to see how many segments it is, and it's 5 per side, so 36° each)! I can see them simultaneously in both the older Quests as well as in the CV1, though, but just barely.
7:10 Still better with the VR Cover cloth thingies on it, but those touch my nose and I keep having to pull the ends away from it everytime I put the thing on.
10:06 Typically does that when I unplug the battery and then take the headset off.
11:01 Got the 2.6A ones, so 13W. Haven't had extremely quick discharges yet and they seem to hold up similarly well as with the Quest 2 in PCVR with Virtual Desktop, set to 90Hz and having auto switching to hand tracking turned off in general. I've set my headset to 120Hz, but that apparently only applies to software that utilizes it. Haven't played a lot of standalone yet, most of it was Linelight, Warplanes Air Corps and a title that's not out yet.

I use a INIU 10,000 mAh slimmest battery pack 15W, the one with the paw print. Same one I used on my Quest 2, but I let my Quest 3 battery drain to about 30%-50% or when it gives me a low battery warning and then plug in the battery, and it charges the Quest 3 as I play. I do it this way because my original Quest 2 stopped charging to 100% because I always kept it at 100% with the battery plugged in. After I got a Quest 2 replacement, I started letting it drain before I plugged in the battery.

Really interesting about the differences in the battery. I marked my batteries (I have 4) and always assumed they were the same however the early batteries I got are the 3 amp versions and the later batteries I got appear to be 2.6 amp which is rather strange (thought it would be the other way round). I always thought that the B2 batteries were the same and it has not been made clear (yet again) by BoboVR that they made a change to the batteries however never told anyone (it would be different if it had been given a different name just like the headsets with M2 Pro and M2 Plus for instances) like B2 and B2 version 2 or B2 pro at least some way to let people know of a change taking place and not having to search for this ourselves otherwise it just feels like they are trying to hide something. To anyone who has this, or even the M2 Pro/Plus: how tight are the front hinges (the hinges near the black plate that connects to the headset)? At the 8:15 mark he shows that it can drop over time when not using the interface. This is a little concerning because that's exactly how I plan to use it - without the facial interface. Very hard to get an M3 Pro right now, so what I'll likely do is get an M2 Plus with an M2 to M3 adapter. But I really want to use it withOUT the interface, so I'm worried if those hinges are loose enough that it will cause the headset to droop over time. Judging from the sound in the video, they don't appear to ratcheted (and they should be!!!).

I do not have the bobo BUT i use an Powerbank with 30W 10000milliamp. And my quest is dying but the powerbank still has like 80% juice left. Is the charge rate slower then the discharge rate? And if yes would it be possible with an update to first drain the external battery then the internal?

      Soooo UPdate:
I played today again with powerbank and i played VRchat and Demeo. Worked wonderful. Battery from the powerbank hot empty first and then headset. Total playtime about 6 hours.
Headset was warm to the Touch.
Im guessing it deppends on the game.
Last time i tried the same setting with "Dungeon of eternity" and headset died first and powerbank was at 80%.

I see alot of complains about the pro headstrap causing forehead pain, and I had that once when wearing it, then I realised, that the image is "not blurry" in so many angles its easy to setup the pro strap completely wrong.
I realised I could slide it down on my face like !! 10+ centimetres !! and still have a clear image. A good way to notice this is if your nose is not completely sitting inside the carved out area for it. Image was still clear, I no longer saw ANYTHING below my chin, and the forehead pain went away completely AND I could tighten the headset as much as I wanted, and it never started to hurt on the forehead.

The AMVR neck battery is the only one I've found that continually charges the Quest 3 while playing. My M3 Pro is shupping from China now so hopefully it runs decently for me as the neck battery is pretty annoying for active games.

How can that neck battery not be annoying for any game?

My m3 just got shipped yesterday. I really hope they'll get this battery crap sorted out cause so far it seems like biggest flaw with m3.

What uses up more battery? Wireless PCVR or standalone? Can the Batterypack keep up with PCVR?

Thanks for the video. Been waiting for this. Still have not been able to get one delivered (and from what I am seeing on discord some people that even ordered it on the 10th have been delayed again and still not received their headsets (M3 Pro)) so it is not looking good. I am going to try the new battery solution you talked about. I ordered the neck battery and the elite battery strap (both really good prices right now with discount codes) and I have already received confirmation that my order has shipped from China unlike the BoboVR product that I have had the conversion kit on order for several weeks and it is supposed to be delivered on this Thursday from Amazon however I do not hold out much hope this will happen. Will keep watching your videos. Hope you can try the PrismXR T1 ear buds as they are basic but surprisingly good IMO. Will keep watching for the next great product for the Quest 3. Thank you for your hard work.
