I added about 200 grams of weight to the back of my deluxe audio headstrap to reduce pressure on the front of my face and it actually helps with comfort a lot. This strap does this out of the box. That extra weight is not a negative imo, especially with the cooling fan.
Yeah that might be the case. The Kevlar helmets in the army weighed a few pounds and even better when you attach a pair of nods to the front so maybe i am used to it. Plus we were in them for 12+ hours during deployment.
Thanks for the video on this VR head strap. I just got my BoboVR S3 and it is really nice and is comfortable. It took me a while to get it from BoboVR since it came directly from Tian China. It came packaged very well and install was very easy. Glad to get rid of that original Meta head strap. Most of my gaming is doing Sitting SIM racing games so my head is not moving around very much. Take care.
I just got mine in. It's got some shortcomings like exposed wiring on the display side. But overall it seems nice. As far as the weight is concerning, its balance and distribution that matters. I used to sell lawn and garden equipment. In many cases a small gas powered line trimmer would be much heavier than a plug in electric or battery powered unit. But it having better balance made it easier to carry for longer periods. Newer battery powered line trimmers have digured that out and push for balance. You can hide a lot of weight that way.
I bought the s3 pro the day it was announced. The fan really makes a big difference in the Australian heat! The weight I don’t seem to notice at all but if you’ve been using vr headsets for a couple of years I guess you’re going to get used to it, but the comfort and fan plus that awesome battery make the s3 well worth it in my opinion!
I’ve never had a neck ache problem wearing the bobo. Also yes, it might be heavier but the weight distribution is a lot better and the quest 3 sits closer to my face so I don’t really notice the extra weight myself personally.
I completely agree with the points you mentioned in your video. BOBO has indeed upgraded the battery performance and fan, but it also adds too much weight. I find the fan feature somewhat unnecessary, and the price of nearly $90 has discouraged me from purchasing it. After some searching, I found the Sonicgrace S3 Duo battery strap, which also features a magnetic battery pack and is well-made. It offers two battery packs and a charging dock at a lower price. Are you going to test it? Looking forward to it!
I have some other battery head straps that I'll be releasing videos for soon so watch this space. I'll have a look at the sonicgrace too. Have you enjoyed using it?

yes, but be careful when disassembling and when unscrewing and recrewing the screws as the plastic is very brittle at least on my headset and if you tighten the screws to much the plastic will break easily. also i want to mention that the price of the headset is very high for the quality. but its very comfortable. two screws where tightened to much from the factory and where broken out of the box so quality control at bobo is not very good in my opinion.

the B100 battery upgrade kit will probably be my move instead of getting a new strap. I don't NEED a fan. Will also probably be getting the hot swappable battery setup I'm sure is in the works.
The B100 upgrade kit will come with a new battery dock that you would just replace your B2 battery dock on your headset with. It just unscrews so it’s an easy thing to change.

Yes. You can either order direct from the bobovr website or wait til it’s available on Amazon uk. There are purchase links in the video description for you.
As evidenced by comments, it's natural to make excuses for new exciting products because we want to believe we're getting "the best" thing. Even people who don't have an S3 Pro are making excuses for its weight. Part of the appeal of a well-fitted halo strap is that it uses the geometry of the strap to counter the weight of the headset, so you can have a lightweight strap while fully supporting the headset. Adding weight to this configuration does not improve comfort. It just makes it clunkier and more noticeable on your head. It's just a matter of tradeoffs.
@@WrathofTron Still a slap in the face, buying the M3 thinking the battery would be enough, when it wasn't, then being forced to get their new battery and adapter. tbh bobo can eat a fat one. I'm not buying their adapter to give them more money for shit like this.
I got both M3 and S3. Returned S3 (pain in the a*** process), because before sleep I game laying on my bed on the big virtual screen on the ceiling. I couldn't tolerate the S3 weight and pressure slowly becoming pronounced in the back of my head, had no such issue with M3. I don't even realize I needed extra battery power because I play for about 3 hours at most, and it goes to overnight charge. For me, S3 was the big slap in the face. I feel sorry in advance for all those who are probably waiting for it to hit the US store and planning to buy this.

PU leather, or polyurethane leather, is a synthetic material designed to mimic the look and feel of genuine leather. The "PU" stands for polyurethane, which is the polymer used to coat a fabric base to create this leather-like material. The term "PU leather" emphasizes the fact that the product is a leather substitute made using polyurethane. Despite the fact that it doesn't contain real leather, it's called "leather" because it's intended to serve as an affordable and animal-friendly alternative to genuine leather, offering similar aesthetics and texture.

I've learned how to make things out of real leather because I was so tired of the faux stuff and how quick it peels away. @@steveybiggunzgaming8118 s3 pro, I eventually got them to come out and go back in although it required a bit of force
Girl at the end of the Jungle Book: “SMH”
is you're bobovr s3 strap a pre production unit or was it a full release vir? I just got mine and I can not remove the head pieces.
They can be hard to remove the first time you do it.
I feel like it doesn't allow you to use quest link with a cable at the same time
If you want to use a battery head strap and play PCVR games then I’d recommend connecting wirelessly to your PC using something like Steam Link or Virtual Desktop.
Does the battery buzz?
It doesn't buzz for me
With 3 batteries I can play Forever. Forget the Break. I need more VR not less....
That $130 CAD price really hurts.
I will change this in meta quest 4
14 hours to charge battery with original charger is this normal
My Bobovr 5200 battery from depleted to full charges in 30 minutes. Is this normal?
best vid reviewing this
Thanks so much! ❤️😊
Can you get this in the Uk
Yes. You can either order direct from the bobovr website or wait til it’s available on Amazon uk. There are purchase links in the video description for you.
"perfect" and "bobovr s3 pro" cannot stay in the same phrasing.
Mine has a non-removable top reach,
I love mine.
"Give your neck a break."...... Wait, what? 😉
Give your neck a break, funny, because my neck is always breaking ;D
As evidenced by comments, it's natural to make excuses for new exciting products because we want to believe we're getting "the best" thing. Even people who don't have an S3 Pro are making excuses for its weight.
Part of the appeal of a well-fitted halo strap is that it uses the geometry of the strap to counter the weight of the headset, so you can have a lightweight strap while fully supporting the headset. Adding weight to this configuration does not improve comfort. It just makes it clunkier and more noticeable on your head. It's just a matter of tradeoffs.
Why does this feel so much more like an infomercial than a review...?
Big slap in the face for those that bought the M3 though...
Not really. I love the M3 and genuinely don't want the forehead fan. If they make a new adapter kit for the batteries I'll be incredibly happy.
@@WrathofTron Still a slap in the face, buying the M3 thinking the battery would be enough, when it wasn't, then being forced to get their new battery and adapter. tbh bobo can eat a fat one. I'm not buying their adapter to give them more money for shit like this.
@@WrathofTronwell you're in luck, they did
I was lucky, my M3 is still in the return window for Amazon. So I'm returning while the S3 is coming
Or just buy the new M3 max with the new 10,000 Mah battery.
Yes, BoboVR have just released their M3 Max head strap which is essentially the previous M3 Pro headstrap but with the newer B100 battery from the S3 Pro added to it. You can check it out here -> amzn.to/3YKnu1e
Kiwi K4 boost is miles better
I've reviewed that too recently. What makes it a better head strap for you?
@MyTechGearGaming more comfortable... Battery is great and doesn't have the fan gimmick
can we stop the PU leather craze! its either leather or its not. PU has nothing to do with leather.
@@arrsenio9875 "It's a substitute. That does not make it leather. You can put lipstick on a pig, but it's still a pig; nothing has changed about that. Saying 'PU leather' is just some bad marketing sales bullshit, and it needs to stop.
@@Factsfun-kg4xcwhat should you call it then
@@arrsenio9875 the problem I have with it is it's nowhere near as durable as real leather. I've learned how to make things out of real leather because I was so tired of the faux stuff and how quick it peels away. And while I personally think everything eventually dies and we shouldn't let the skin just rot and go to waste, I understand if some people don't like using things that came from an animal.
Don’t believe all these paid off people reviewing it. The headset is heavy and the fan is extremely pointless. Just get the m3 and save money.
Bobovr did send me the head strap to review, but they certainly didn’t pay for the review or have any input into the making of it. What you get is my honest opinion. I do mention the weight of the headset in the review. Some people find the fan useful, others don’t. It’s a personal thing. Personally I use it occasionally, certainly not all the time.
The m3 doesn’t keep the quest 3 charged while using it the s3 pro does so don’t listen to this person if you can get it get the s3 pro
Lol do you have a pencil neck? 1KG is nothing.
