      I've tried the Globular Cluster F3 and AMVR Q3FC1. I prefer the F3 - the magnetic design is very nice to easily remove when you want to use the S3 Pro in a halo-style setup.

    Nice peekage section, I have wanted a flip up strap for a long time but as I wear glasses I was cautious about them getting in the way for the flip up to work, but that kkcobvr with the extra dial makes me wonder if it would be more glasses friendly if it can slide forward enough to avoid snagging.

    • @ThisKory
      @ThisKory  21 день назад +2

      I would invest in VR lens inserts long before I purchase a head strap for glasses. If you cannot use VR lens inserts for some odd reason, then the KKCOBVR strap is your best bet.

      @ThisKory Great Video Kory! Seriously man, very helpful! I made sure to sub and like the video, I would have hit the bell but for some reason there wasn't one.
      So I probably should have done a little more research, but I already bought the BoboVR S3 Pro because everywhere I read said it was the best, and even after watching your video I still believe that to be true. But I probably would have went with the KKCOBVR Q3 Pro due to the flip up design, and it also has a hot swapable 10,000 mah battery like the S3 Pro does. It also is $30 less than the S3 Pro as well.
      My S3 Pro will be here Tuesday, so I guess worse case if I don't like it I can return it and buy the KKCOBVR Q3 Pro. But I'm sure it will be fine.
      Anyways, thanks again for the great video! Can't wait to see more from you!

    Not sure if they have since changed the design but my recently purchased KKCOBVR does not articulate anything like yours at that joint. It requires a LOT of force to flip it up. So much so that it is easier to just take it off.

  • @arilotringer

    Nice video and very informative! Have you tried the Kiwi design H4? What do you think about that one? I'm gearing towards the KKCOBVR because of the fit but the the Globular Cluster is also appealing because of the interchangeable materials, I have over the ear headphones that I use that have that same PU leather finish as most of the pads on most headstraps and as time passes, that material starts to peel off, what has been your experience with durability on materials? the globular cluster one is appealing to me because if a pad wears out, you have a couple more to just change it. Still, I'm gonna purchase my first headset ever being the quest 3 and I still don't know which headstrap to get hahah. Also there's a KKCOBVR facial interface that has a fan, how would you compare the S3 Pro vs the KKCOBVR with the fan interface? they would have kind of the same features and price point. Thanks!

    • @ThisKory
      @ThisKory  6 дней назад +1

      Hey thanks for the kind words! I appreciate that a lot.
      I have not tried the Kiwi H4, and only have experience with their non-battery K4 design. I like Kiwi Design products, they seem pretty solid, and I've heard good things about their battery-strap models as well.
      The PU leather material will degrade over time, this is inevitable. Wiping down the material after each use will preserve its life, but these materials will not last a lifetime - but they only really need to last 4-5 years, which is probably as long as you'll keep the HMD around before upgrading, anyway. That being said, I do not have any issues with any of the PU leather pads on any of the straps I have and use. I've had a VR Cover for my Index for 4 years and it is still looking and feeling as good as new. Again, making sure to wipe it down after each use helps to increase the material longevity, and giving it a deeper clean with a little water, a cloth, and some time, will go a long way to ensure you can continue to use these head straps for years. Of course, some materials may degrade sooner, but all of mine have been fine.
      I personally like the S3 Pro, their ecosystem is becoming more robust with their charging dock, controller grips that work with the dock, and a facial interface soon. Their products have been more expensive than most, for sure, but they seem to meet the quality to justify the cost in many ways, with the digital displays, and fan, among other details which just make it an easy head strap to recommend.
      That being said, the KKCOBVR unit is super nice, and I actually find it more comfortable on my head because it grips the front of my head much better, creating a more stable and secure strap.
      Globular Cluster is great if you have multiple users because you can use separate materials so you're not sharing the sweaty pads with one another. I love their facial interface (F3) because of its magnetic design, and the same reason I enjoy their head straps, because they provide you with multiple materials and interfaces to quickly swap them out.
      I have not tried the KKCOBVR interface, so I cannot comment on that, but it seems cool!
      So, I'd say the S3 Pro if you want a nice well rounded strap, KKCOBVR if you want the flip-up design with a more narrow halo design that cups your forehead better, or the Globular Cluster if you are sharing the headset and want to swap out materials.
      They're all good, you just gotta decide what you prioritize here, and go with your gut haha. Hope this helps!

    So should i get the quest 3s with the strap no battery or the quest 3s with a cable link?

    • @ThisKory
      @ThisKory  15 дней назад

      This depends on how you will be using the Quest 3S. The Quest 3S can be used wirelessly connected to your PC, or via a link cable. Most users find wireless to be best for visuals, but you also need to ensure you have a fast router (6e is preferred), and a video card to support the encoding.
      There are far too many variables to give you a direct answer. Although I would definitely get a head strap for the 3S, as the default strap is pretty terrible, giving pressure points from the large plastic blocks on the back, and leaving the headset feeling unbalanced and awkward. A head strap should be a priority when getting a Quest, so that's my vote. However, if you're using it wireless, then you will also want a battery.. so, maybe save up a bit longer and get a head strap with a battery if you're going that route.

      I only included battery straps in this comparison video, to keep things a little more comparable. I do have the K4, and I am uploading the BOBOVR E3 Pro review as I type this out 😁
      I plan to make a video comparing all non-battery straps at some point, but I do not have many, and most users will prefer a battery, so I prioritized making this video first.

      The K4 Boost is a battery strap, yes, but I have the K4 Comfort strap which does not have a battery.
      The E3 Pro is also a battery strap, but I did not receive it until after this video was completed, so it was not added in this comparison guide. This was discussed near the end of this video, but I don't expect everyone to have seen that 😅

    • @ThisKory

    What are your favourite quest 3 grips

    • @ThisKory
      @ThisKory  19 дней назад

      Hmm.. gonna be honest, I don't use grips enough to have a favorite, simply because I use the Maecker charging dock which doesn't allow for grips due to the battery panels needing to be exposed for the terminal connectors to charge.
      Whatever grips you choose, just make sure they have a locking mechanism to the battery slot so the controllers don't fly out from the grips - and make sure they're actually locked in properly, as some can be difficult to get to lock properly.
