“Use your unfair advantages” is really opening things up for me. It changed the game from “How can I develop the best skills for RUclips?” (which can be daunting) to “How can I use the skills I have to make RUclips videos that only I can make?” … though to be fair, I probably still need to brush up on my RUclips skills.

This is regardless of your level of education.

Good day Ali! I really like how genuine and helpful you are in sharing your best practices to your audience who are also aspiring to become known with their passions. I started my channel on 2020 with the same reason of uploading contents that I am passionate of (Excel VBA and Music). At first, establishing a name as an Excel Content Creator was really hard because of competition. Only the ones with higher subscriber counts and good vlogging gears are being recognized. But with the help of RUclips analytics and its other features, these helped me figure out that there are also viewers who are into straightforward contents like they want to get the answer with quick explanation right away. Now, I am about to reach 3000 subscribers, monetized, and somewhat gaining a generous number of views from supporters of straightforward approach. Thank you for helping all aspiring content creators to continue sharing what they are best at and that their peak will also come. Take care!

Another tip I'd add which I'm learning as a beginner is don't let not knowing something stop you from uploading contents. For example I have been working on editing about a 20 minute video, I also have hour long videos that I have yet to even go near since recording. There's so much I got to learn about editing. And instead of getting so caught up with learning everything and not uploading any content: I decided to balance it out with working on smaller projects in between, that I know I can work with at my level. In the same token you also don't want to avoid bigger projects that you want to get done. So it's about finding balance. Don't get demotivated and every little bit you learn gets you closer to your goal. Slow and steady can win too. :)

Best ad experience, glad to give you Ad views because Outlander trailer and an ad for my employer!
Pottery class analogy resonated with me because pottery this actually happened to me in sculpture class (yeah both involve clay), we were divided into quantity projects vs 1 project, and I chose to do quantity to spend more time on developing skills and my professor was impressed with my work towards the end and I got an A. Also it was more fun to do more projects.
I am working on my first video and yes, sculpture is a primary component 😉 I definitely believe your advice.

I agree with everything you mentioned in this video! I've always loved recording videos but never felt confident enough to put them out there.
