    1. figure out what your priority is, the most important tasks. instead of doing too much, become concise (3-4) on your goals. if i only had 2 hours a week what would i do?
    2. focus on progress
    3. bargain with yourself about what you want to do what you should do
    4. have a flexible routine
    5. just pick a thing. it is easy to doubt yourself over what youre doing but instead of overthinking something just stick to one thing for a long enough time

Valuable takeaways to be consistent: 1. Make things easy to do, 2. Acknowledge our desires but bargain with ourselves to be consistent with witty desire grants, 3. For every goals, have three high-low level of ways to achieve & maintain consistent momentum 4. Stick to one system that suits you and transform your craft better, 5. Stick to do the things and dont quit

Hey Ali, you may want to research the sponsor. Better help has been involved in numerous scandals and shady business practices that are quite documented for years now. They also don't guarantee that the person you're being given therapy by is licensed either. As well as make it extremely difficult to discontinue their "service". Please up vote so he can see this.

It really feels like a breath of fresh air amidst all the overwhelming advice out there from people like Iman Gadzhi (or Adrià Solà Pastor in the Spanish-speaking community). What a great video! I love the relaxing music on the background too, I put immense pressure on myself to be more productive, and like you said, i take on too much stuff! This helps destress me in order to work on what's important!

Can you post a video talking about drinking and doing drugs? Are you on anything? Do you go out and drink occasionally? Any nicotine?

Discipline motivation etc I believe that everyone will get to those moments of realization when it's time for them to finally learn and digest the lessons and purpose of their lives .
It's a moment that's a fraction of a sec when everything makes sense and there u are Disciplined and fullfilled like never before .

I like Ali's content a lot, but I also like the style of Jocko and Goggins, and I ran into their content first, a few years back. I think Jocko's and Goggin's styles of focusing on discipline are very beneficial also. Sometimes you really need that not-so-friendly attitude of "take a hard look at yourself and realize that YOU are actually the problem, and now it's time to change".

    - discipline
doing something you don’t want to
    - not rolling the boulder up but down
    - whats the main thing
    essentialism
someone doing things and having fun
    vs
someone doing things and being miserable
    strategically mediocre at some things
    eliminates
    DO LESS NOT MORE
    3 goals for whole year
    Inconsistent and large
    vs
    large and consistent
If I only 2 hours what would I do
    4 hours
8 hours - just do that
    - do less and tiny things
no matter how motivated you are
    raise bar slowlt
    - middle ground listen to
    low self
    high self
    - routine
    being doctor vs other times
    doing less work
    GO OUTSIDE
    - Costco go
    - Plan A
    Plan B
    Plan C - just walk
down consistent and some days not every day
    - stick to the system
    thing should feel good

Great video Ali. Thank you for putting this together. The one thing that I am going to be working on is “taking on less things” as I take one too much. It is hard but I have to do this to do the essential things.

1.) Know your main thing and focus on fewer things. We often struggle with discipline because we try to do too many things. Limit yourself to 3-4 major goals and focus your time on what matters most.
2.) Aim for progress, not immediate success. Becoming disciplined takes time - compare yourself to where you started, not experts. Lower the bar enough that you can take action consistently, then slowly raise it over time. The key is doing the process repeatedly to learn to trust it.
3.) Acknowledge the tension between your "higher self" and "lower self." Don't just shut down your lower impulses, but find a way to hear and integrate the different parts of yourself to find a balanced approach you can sustain.
4.) Establish a flexible routine. Having some structure enables discipline, but being too rigid makes it unsustainable. Find the sweet spot by using general principles (e.g. do deep work before shallow work) vs strict schedules. Have A, B, C goal levels so you can adapt when life interferes.
5.) Stick to your system, don't constantly switch. Changing methods frequently undermines discipline. Pick one approach and do it repeatedly - the consistency is more important than finding the "perfect" system. Avoid distraction and stay the course.

Thanks, Ali. This was really helpful. I have a quick suggestion that you might want to try removing the background music or lowering it a bit. The way you discuss stuff is excellent and engaging already.

Such mind opening points Ali, I feel it's been my whole life that I have been struggling with discipline and consistency and everytime as you also mentioned we try to find that new/better path to sort of fix or make it better in place of just doing the easier thing which is sticking to that one thing and not switching. Thank you for this video... it really felt as if it was made for me.
