Tidying up is EXACTLY what I am doing. Small stuff here and there reminds me of other things I need to do. Moving things around made a huge difference in mental clarity and focus at my desk.
I started my personal CRM in Notion and this is soooo helpful! It's so funny, because friends are so happy when I "remember" things they said because I wrote them down. Also what they mentioned they want for their birthday. My boyfriend is amazed by my skill to buy presents for friends. It doesn't matter how I remembered. In the end what really counts is the joy I get from people who feel like I really listened ❤

Seems to me these all have a "high tech/high touch" component in common. Connecting with people who are important to you, reflecting about your life, and reducing mental and physical clutter are all about reframing and reinforcing human experiences. They can all be quite separate from tech, or we can use tech to increase these touch opportunities. I think all five are about "keeping in touch" with yourself, your relationships, and your habitat.
hey Ali, an old subscriber here, have been watching you since 2 years, and being honest and as a student, I still find you older videos more helpful easy as compared to the new ones, not totally and all of them, but yes, i feel some friction in the new ones and old ones help a bit better, i dont dislike the new ones obviously, I am sharing this considering that you read our comments
Meditation is honestly one of the best things I have ever implemented into my routines and I recommend it to everyone who works with me. Completely takes you to a new level of focus and calm, love the tip!
personal crm is a GENIUS idea. as a former mentor from my state university mentoring first-year students, it is so important to have community map to keep track of the progress of individuals and always updating/following up with them about things they are experiencing. i def should do this for my friends as well since we do forget at times, but going the extra mile really does make a difference! thanks for that:)
Something random I’ve noticed watching this video is that Ali has started to speak slower with more purpose. Not that he didn’t speak with purpose before but I remember when I watched him a couple years ago I had to sometimes slow down the video speed. He just seems way more content and calm.
How about 5 fun and relaxing things you can do instead scrolling on your phone? I am productive for most of the day. I scroll when I need to relax and just dont know what else to do. I imagine that's a bigger problem for a lot of people...
The tidying up thing is so real. I always feel wayyyy better when my desk is clear and my kitchen table is clear (the two places I tend to drop random stuff).
Love your content Ali. But I haven’t been bored for over 4 years. I have 2 children under 5, work full time, run a RUclips channel, married, learning a new language, learning the piano and have just completed a Masters plus travelling & vlogging at every opportunity I can get and I wouldn’t want it to be any other way.
Regardless the topic, there is always some positive energy that I get whenever I watch any of your videos! This tells me that you are genuine. Keep up this high quality content.
This was so kindly useful, really thought out suggestions that actually brought value for me, simple things that I actually needed at the moment and will try to practice. Thanks for taking the time to bring these ideas.
I've never been good at maintaining relationships and I think the CRM is just what I need. I've been tossing it around in my head for a couple years now after hearing that the upper limit for interpersonal relationships is around 150 people. So, I've been considering who my top 150 people are and this is motivating me to actually make that list
❤ Yes, notes on friends. I have ad hoc been doing this. This allows me to be in tune in with them. To pick up our conversation from where we left off. Thank you for affirming this to me. 😊
I was feeling very anxious before watching this video. So I decided to focus on something that could help me organize my mind and this content made me feel more calm and gave me ideas, opened my mind. So thank u for your videos!
I’m taking from this video the Apple notes to have a record of my people’s interactions. We are getting older and it’s harder to be friends with people but we still need the sense of belonging to a group. Thank Dr. Ali. I bought your book and I’m finishing another one in order to start yours. Looking forward to it. Gracias
oh my gposh you have Kaelyn in your team now! Didn't know that, super happy for her! I've been watching her content for awhile now and so excited to see what's next!
An idea to sell the personal CRM to phone manufacturers have the feature on phone after a call ends to take notes which pops up the next time the caller calls you back-optional...
You don't need a separate CRM system to keep track of these thing. You can put them in with your contacts in the notes section or other fields in your built-in contacts app.
Very astute observation there Ali. I am indeed a very good looking over-achiever. In seriousness though, you've inspired me to return to doing weekly reflections :)
This grabbed my attention 17:06 "...play videos which can be very productive, if you're doing it intentionally". I'm probably not alone when I say I feel a sense of guilt after playing video games (even though I was enjoying it at the time) because it seems like time wasted/unproductive. I know you sometimes request ideas for videos from your audience, and I wondered if there might be something in this i.e. activities that feel like time wasted but can actually be productive/intentional.
Spending a few min in front of a video from Ali that gives ideas and reminders of ways to make productivity more enjoyable and inline with my “why” is a very good use of time in my book. Thanks, Ali! And I loved your book. I have been rereading portions of it regularly.
Boredom occurs when we are unengaged or unstimulated by our current activity. It happens because our brains seek novelty and challenge, and without these, we feel a lack of interest and motivation.
This was such a great video! I had been thinking about figuring out how to keep track of people and relationships I have been building. I'm working on being an entrepreneur and having to make a lot more connections with people than I typically do. This advice is so helpful. I think I might use notion to organize my "people" folder and keep track of things. It makes so much sense and I really want to be the kind of person that is really thoughtful but I am so forgetful it makes it difficult.
These are such interesting suggestions! A podcast with friends or family?? Such a great idea. I have wondered about recording discussions with my parents for my son, but never thought of it as part of a podcast. Also interesting to think "I might upload, but I might not. Let's just see where it takes us."
I just opened the video and was caught off-guard by Ali talking in Hindi. Then I found out that RUclips has just added the feature in, and let me tell you, it's insane!

Hey Ali, a question. I was reading your book, congratulations btw, where you say that 'feel good productivity' works better than just straight-up resilience and grinding our way through, as traditionally thought. However, would it suffice Muhammad Ali if he changed his philosophy from his 'hating every second, still continuing' to the feel-good productivity into becoming the Muhammad Ali we know? Would it work when the other students are studying 16 hours every day in a country like India for a University entrance exam?
Watching ali to find the right answer to my problem and then take action is the best feeling ever. My life literally changed and I can’t thank you enough. Hope to meet you in person one day!
Amazing, i love the book. Always enjoy listening to you, but just please slow down - just a little, please! You talk so fast it seems that you're trying to rush through everything.

Simple way to keep a personal CRM is to just use your phone and/or Outlook contacts. You can add birthdays in there and notes etc.
