What did we learn today? Consistency matters cause OF COURSE IT DOES. It's just like 'Chkeovs Gun' and 'Setup and Payoff' a FUNDAMENTAL thing in Writing.
I just realized, Barry's biggest weakness is that he lacks object permanence. If a villain manages to step outside his field of view there is nothing more Barry can do.
@@thephoenix4093 Except snart is good already anyways. Besides just cuz they redeemed a few villains in the show doesn't mean all villains would be like that lol. It ain't like they forgave mass murderers or genocidial dictataors
I don't actually have an issue with the Flash stopping to talk to normal-speed villains, because he's so unbelievably fast that nothing should catch him off guard, and it fits with his personality in the comics + DCAU. The issue is that even when he's done talking he STILL somehow can't beat the bad guy.
Dang. Most of this could’ve been avoided/improved if they added a scene in season 1 where Barry ran in and punched someone at super speed, only to accidentally kill them. Then his whole “stopping right before and punching them at normal speed” could be a character moment where he’s actively making the decision to spare their life.
@@iconicweirdguy8678 Sadly that's not consistent with the rules of the speed force, as you know it already allows his feet to keep steps at the afore mentioned 500mph. Actually every character that has superspeed or super strength must have some level of invulnerability/super resistant body tissues or his power is not really useful.
Barry: Was that the criminal who just got away from me? No it can't be. I, a man with superspeed am clearly incapable of catching up to people walking normally.
The worst part is Barry shouldn't even outrun a bullet. If you search up "how fast does a bullet travel mph" it will say 1,800 mph, but Cisco is saying Barry's average is 1,500 mph
@HarrHarrHarrify these are handguns. They fire at about 1/10th the speed of that. Barry is significantly faster than a handgun bullet, and quite likely faster than most rifles. The show made many mistakes, but the flash being faster than bullets is not one of them
The worst part is that all of his "stop to chat" shenanigans are a realistic thing that a super speeder might do. Because they'd still have plenty of time to deal with the threat after their nice discussion.
@@someotherworldlybeing3167 No he is saying that even though snyder has no understanding for the character of flash and or his capabilities/limitations he did the speedster thing better than a show dedicated to the flash. And that is truly sad.
No one's mentioning how, when *Zoom* escapes, Barry actually searches several blocks to look for him before concluding that he's long gone (or at least, I assume that's what the stream of lightning in the streets was supposed to mean, before he yells "NO!" in a completely different location). But when literally anybody else walks out of frame, he just calls it a day.
The dumbest part of all of this is that the Flash has an actual reason to slow down as part of a weakness, every part of him is accelerated including his digestion. He has to slow down or he will literally starve to death, but they omitted this very understandable and plot relevant weakness and note. He can't do grid searches without literally dying until he has better control over the speed force. Every part of the show is missing the part where the Flash has to catch his breath and eat near constantly, but no they forgot this incredibly important detail.
I mean they do mention Barry needs insane to eat insane amount of calories to not die in season 1 but they definitely just kinda forget about that way to quick and never mention it again
@@alastorrajin8565 They actually dealt with it in the same season when Cisco creates these calorie dense bars ( a way to NEVER bring this issue up again.) personally wish they did use it as a plot device more often.
@@CAPTAINGATSBY yeah I know they had the calorie bar made specifically to deal with and never bring it up again, but I feel like there was still a way to make it happen again. Like when Barry gets faster maybe he starts to need even more calories. The whole episode of flash time when the nuke went off he should been like constantly eating to maintain that level of insane speed
I love when TV shows or Movies "save" a patients life by removing the bullet. Like the bullet itself is the problem, and not all of the damage it did going in.
Yeah. Esspecially since, most of the time. They leave the bullet in. Since they'd have to make a bigger hole to get the bullet out. So its easier just to leave it in unless its lodged inside something important
@@andrewjones9547 Legit, Doctor's normally leave them in, because the small amount of lead isn't enough to actually do damage. Your body will just deal with it and degrade it away over time. Unless its lodged inside something important, there's no point to causing more damage to go in and get it out
All Barry had to do to defeat an invisible Starlight (or whatever her name is) is do a massive serpentine path towards her. She's not immaterialized, so he should be able to run into her if he just runs around the room like mowing a lawn. Or just knock her out before she turns invisible.

@@tuakrayee6657 you know, im convinced that the arrowverse just doesnt have physics to begin with. That guy who "invented" gravity never did in this world
The Flash is too OP for the CW. They should have mad him slower and then gradually built his speed up. They set themselves up for failure. Because given his speed and his reaction time, he's unstoppable.
Nah, they should have made the seasons much shorter. Focus on a handful of well written episodes that make sense. Villain of the week style show doesnt work with someone with superspeed
I feel like a lot of the Flash's problems would have been averted if they didn't make him so fast right at the beginning of the series. Give him super speed, but not to the level that he can run across half a city in seconds. He should have only reached that point several seasons in, and they should have given him some godlike enemies to fight at that point.
they did make him kinda slow in the beginning seasons, like claiming he can only run 700 mph, any slower and it wouldn't be the flash anymore, the problem is they gave him feats of a man who could run faster than light, Also they tried to give him strong overarching villains in the first 3 seasons that's why they are regarded as the best, because the main villains were actually threatening because us as fans couldn't say "well barry you move at speeds that make everyone stand still why are you struggling with a super smart guy whos just a normal human other than his brain", but people got tired of the speedster villains
That's why at this time of me Writing my own DC Universe I have Flash be slower than what he was in the CW. I don't know how exactly fast but for the first project he's not even able to time travel. He's what you'd call fast but not fast enough to beat Captain Cold right away. Maybe he even threatens Barry with bombs in a building but the second Captain Cold escapes and Barry goes looking for the bombs. Turns out no bombs and Snart lied because he knows he couldn't go toe to toe with Barry. Even as slow as he is
Gotta admire the writers for making later seasons so shit that it makes already-shit early seasons look like masterpieces. How do you even achieve that?
It's like they are doing their best to get fired, yet CW just won't fire them, so they're testing CW's lower limit for how much stupidity is allowed in the script.
On CW you could make hundreds of 10 season superhero shows. And if you just said "wait let's think this though" *ONCE* in a pitch meeting your shows would be a million times better than any show they've crapped out in the last 15 years.
Anybody could make a 10 season superhero show. Just find a superhero that's been running monthly issues for the past 8 decades and adapt every issue into an episode. It'll be riddled with inconsistency, but the comics were too. You might even be able to get away with doing a complete reset every once in a while like DC does.
You forgot that when Zoom kidnaps Henry, Barry runs to stat labs first so he can change into his suit. That’s right, his dad gets captured and he makes a pit stop to put his costume on.
@@onyourleft4194That's also inconsistent since when He first fights reverse Flash his without his flash suit his shoes don't burn. And even then I don't think that Barry would care about that fact if his father is in danger.
Snart: "I've got a dead man's switch! If I release this sw-! Whoa! What?!" Barry: "Welcome to the Antarctic! I'll be back in six hours to see if you wanna surrender."
Even in that situation, it's only if he LETS GO. So his options were. 1-Get all the tape and rope in the house and tie it the fuck around his hand. Let go now bitch. 2-Take the gun and keep it held, then take the gun and Snart to Cisco who can easily disarm it, he did build the thing after all. Even if he hadn't, he's so smart it would take him 3 seconds to figure out. Even if he's like "This is impossible to disarm, it has to go off" Barry can run it to the middle of a desert. Snart even says himself Barry can probably outrun the blast. Then Snart is a regular human and Star Labs has holding cells. 3-Just zip Snart to ANY uninhabited area. He won't kill himself for no reason. That was only a viable threat because Barry wouldn't gamble someone's life, and Snart himself said Barry can outrun the blast. So if he sets it off, Snart is the only one who dies and he gets nothing out of this interaction. He'd never do that and they both know it. 4-Just run Iris away then come back. It's fine to hear him out, but take away his leverage first. Never give the villain leverage.
This. Just this. Don't get me wrong, I love Snart on LoT as much as the next guy. On the Flash? Pretty much the easiest fight Barry could have. Unless he has that thing from the comics where his gun emits an aura of cold (I think, going off other comments here), the only power he has is snark. Heh, 'snarky Snart' :)
@@haku8135 I want a show about a Speedster, who's like One Punch Man. Just eternally bored out of his mind because everything is so fucking slow. So a bad guy does this. I love the scene in one punch man where he is trying to kill a mosquito but it keeps not dying. So he is swatting it with more and more strength. I believe he uses more strength in that scene than he does against some major villains. And the mosquito doesnt die XD.
The one punch man is a show where enemies have plot armour from one punch man (unless the plot actually wants saitama and the enemy at the same place). Most of the time the show is about what happens if saitama is not at the right place and at the right time. If it were, the show would be boring.
@@vaishnav_mallya I mean it would be much more interesting, like with the current arc (In the Manga, the Web Comic is so much to beat with ONE's crap art) Imagine Saitama just showing up at the perceived strong villians and kills them in one blow easy that would just be funny.
Season One: starts to lose his speed Season Two: gives his speed to the enemy Season Three: makes bad decisions which causes him to lose his speed more Season Four: becomes too slow Season Five: becomes slower Season Six: loses it completely Season Seven: Speed runs away from him Seven Eight: the slowest person in the world Season Nine: can't run at all
If anyone wanted to know, I did a calculation on how fast the *Flash* can run in this season judging by how fast he was compared to a bullet (3,600 mph at least) and I remembered that *Zoom* took 2% of the *Flash’s* speed, (at least 3,312 mph now). When the glass is flying at Iris in the car crash scene, debris (including glass) coming off of a car wreck can fly at a velocity of around 55 mph but can also reach as high as a couple hundred mph. So let’s just say that the glass was moving at around 300 mph, the *Flash* is moving approximately 11.04 times the speed of the shard of glass in that scene, so it is so stupid that he struggles and then fails to catch it. But Cisco said he usually runs at 1,500 mph, so that goes to show you that the show ignores its own rules and ignores what it has already shown so far, Barry should be running more than double what Cisco says he does usually.
That scene when harry said “all this could have been avoided if you hadn’t stop to chat with her” was golden to me..makes me believe even the writers know they’re making dumbass decisions lmao
I think it was their response to criticism... but they literally didn't change anything, nor learn anything. It's probably because idiots still watch it.

You forgot that Barry can phase . That would make the show even more inconsistent because when he gets caught by for example big shark dude he could’ve phase through his hand
If he would have started phasing while in contact with king shark he would have caused him to phase as well and they would have gone through the floor and died
The show runners do address this. Snart - His gun slows things down the closer they get to him, emitting a cold aura. You would only notice if you were moving at insane speeds though. 2. Speedsters in this show have a weakness based on their intention to act. Their mind decides it, their speed makes it happen. If anything happens between those two points, the speedster still has the continue with this course of action and cannot start a new one until achieving it. This is why Savitar got shot by Iris, he had no way of knowing she had a gun so his speed did not account for the possibility. His course of action was to attack Barry from behind. This is also why Zoom overshoots people while chasing them like Wells Earth 2. This is why Barry waits for oppertunities of distraction to put power dampening cuffs on bad guys with super powers, he doesn't want to be another Savitar. That's how they explained it, and it makes no sense.
The main problem with the "Stopping and Talking" is the fact that Barry doesn't at least restrain them so they can't somehow one up him. If the writers have to include exposition dialogue, they should do it in a good way
Yeah, it’s like the person above me said he restrains them before he talks to them, like in the comics or other shows that portrayed him correctly, he always stopped to talk after he restrains the enemies. Also he’s actually funny when he does this.
Well I guess they should have hired good writers , huh? Idk why anybody expects anything good to come from CW. Is always bottom of the barrel shit that isnt meant to be good but to get views from morons who consume all their media with their brain turned off (assuming they have a brain to begin with)
Stopping and talking is completely fair, since with powers like his he should be able to talk to them to try to get a little bit of rehabilitation in and make them see the error of their ways. If he fails and they try to attack, he can always just speed attack the enemy. The issue is he doesn't do either of these things.
We know that Barry used to be a smart scientist before he became The Flash, yet now he's dumb and seems to be getting dumber. There's only one explanation. As The Flash, his neurons are so fast they travelled back in time in young Barry, making him smart, but leaving The Flash with less neurons in his brain, making him dumb. It's a time loop.
I think they went the route of Whiz in Heroes Reborn where he needs constant stimulation to the point he could operate dozens of pieces of technology at the same time and still be bored. It's not that he's dumb, it's that he has ADHD.
It’s dumb how they keep nerfing him and now he’s faster than thawne when he’s been struggling to keep up with him since season 1 and now he’s faster but he’s of course gonna get nerfed again.
At 24:45, Barry says, "You see this wand here?" This means that he deadass was gonna tell this guy his plan before defeating him. This is the exact template every villain uses before ultimately losing to a hero. You'd think by the second season, Barry, or literally anyone else, would understand this. Only Wells knew what was up.

They should give Flash a reason that he stops to talk. Like he hates fighting or something. It would be then dumb in a Batman not killing the joker way, not a dumbass way
I mean, that kind of is implied in the show. In all these clips, Barry is usually trying to talk the criminal down, or understand their motives rather than just giving them an immediate concussion. Admittedly, that's no excuse for letting know murderer metas walk free without tossing them in a STAR containment cell like the dude in the video mentioned, but it is the reason why Barry doesn't just "knock them out" every time. He *is* trying to be a pacifist, he's just real bad at it lol What's more egregious than him stopping to talk is non-speedster metas, and basic bitch humans some how repeatedly getting the drop on him when his reflexes are so fast he can literally dodge lightning. If that were more consistent, his constant talking wouldn't seem like an issue, since he'd be getting away with it without there being a downside.
The best way i could think of making the cw's action scenes make any amount of logical sense would be adding things like "this flash has very new and unstable powers compared to his older and more experienced versions and has weaknesses like he has to willfully activate super speed instead of it being on all the time (to explain why he doesnt dodge everything every time), its stressful on his body so he has to do it in short bursts or else risk exhaustion and injury (to explain why he likes to stop all the time, to take a breather), and he cant control it super well so hes always terrified of accidentally brutally murdering his allies and enemies so he stops or goes slow around other humans (to explain why he stops in front of people and why he doesnt just do everything at full speed)", but no, its just the flash but dumb
Fun fact: he says "there's nowhere to run" because he truly believes that that is the case. He has no spacial awareness, so he can't figure out that he can actually move towards a villain.
Exactly Oliver told him the same thing when they had their 1st Crossover he doesnt check anywhere b4 fighting the villains that's why they could blindside him all the time
The guy with the zeptar is actually a genius, cays he enters the room already talking. Thereby starting a conversation. Fully aware that fashes powers can't interrupt conversation, he's save to set up his own attack with plenty of time.
Honestly, they kinda understood part of what makes the Flash so loved in the comics, that he treats his villains like human beings, and will do everything he can to reform them. They just executed it so poorly that it makes him seem like the dumbest man alive. More than once in the comics, stopping to talk to the villains (After disarming them like a sensible person) does actually get them to surrender. But this flash can only run so fast when his brain activity resembles the common broom.
The likes of Batman, Superman, Spider-Man, Daredevil and the comic Flashes do trying to redeem some villains right by actually trying to get through to the ones who have remorse for their actions and get them to turn themselves in and make up for what they've done. CW Barry Allen on the other hand is a manchild who thinks basically saying "You're bad. This is wrong" will magically reform all criminals.
@@Xehanort10 yeah, pretty much my point. They understood why that was appealing, but couldn't figure out how to make it work. Which is by making it NOT the only thing he tries. Or by having him win really consistently unless his opponent outsmarts him by knowing him too well (Because he's so nice and doesn't shut up), something Captain Cold and the Rogues manage pretty often. Stakes aren't hard to make with Flash villains fighting Flash, CW just completely bombed the execution
I love the last bit you said about Barry's brain activity resembling the common broom. And I see what you mean. So does it work like this? Comic Flash: "Disarms/disables opponent's weapons/powers the way a smart person like Barry would, then tries to convince his opponents to make up for their mistakes" CW Flash: "Talks to opponents before even disarming or disabling their weapons or powers like a dumbass and gets his ass handed to him because he doesn't think before acting" That sum it up well or is there more I didn't mention?
I personally think that you can only do flash as a movie character as he just seems overpowered to be a freak of the week style show and lots of the villains made for this show can’t much him in the slightest.
the only way the freak of the week could possibly work is if the Flash had to actually eat food all the time during a fight, has another speedster going for kill shots at all times of the day, or had "erectile dysfunction" style problems with his speed
The fact that he fights Dr. Light in this season is just hilarious due to the fact that he dodges a beam of light. This would mean Barry can move at light speed which is approximately Mach 874030. Anyone who isn't a speedster at this point has no purpose in the entire show.
Barry has moved at light speed so much. See his run at the start of 4, yet he still can’t move even a 10th of that in 95% of his runs after that. Also how he went to Asia in season 4 in like 5 seconds but he can’t dodge Ultraviolet’s attacks
Adding on to this, it's impossible for anything with mass travel at light speed, AND it's impossible to travel faster than the speed of light because the speed of light is the literal speed limit of the universe.
I'd love an exact remake of the flash series, but Barry doesnt take anything seriously because he solves every issue in the last second of the episode.
No, they can still use their powers in a cell, but to a unbelievably constrained, and small level to where it doesnt do anything, also because the way invisibility works, theres is no in between so invisibility still works

6:25 Its a WWI helmet from his father (mind you Jay is supposed to be a lot older than he is when he first appears in the show) that Jay modified after the greek god Hermes who was often depicted with a similar helmet design and it was appropriate since Hermes as a messenger was incredibly fast. As for why it stays on in the comics this kind of this is explained by the speed force creating a shield around the user to protect them from the negatives of a human body moving so fast. Its the same reason why Barrys flash suit doesn't burn off his Cowl doesn't fly off how he can breath moving that fast etc.
it pisses me off on how this channel doesnt have more subscribers with quality content like this, hopefully that doesnt demotivate you from continuing this great series
He will give content creators an ideal to strive towards. They will race behind him, they will stumble, they will fall. But in time, they will join him in the sun. In time, he will help them accomplish wonders
I *can* explain Jay Garrick (old Flash)'s helmet. And doing so is going to make about a billion things in this show worse, but you saw that in season 4. The Speed Force canonically creates a general physics-negating aura around a person utilizing it for Speedster powers, meaning anything they grab, wear, or even stand extremely close to is exempt from things like frictive forces, air resistance, *electron loss*, and usually momentum-based damage. For instance, a Speedster running at... oh, I dunno, the incomprehensible "speed of time" could stop on a dime and not have their internal organs instantly leave their body.
The hilarious thing is he has been shown moving faster than lightning which moves roughly 1.7 miles a second which just shows how inconsistent this show is numbers wise
a LOT of the show's problems would've been fixed had they simply reduced his speed to that of a bullet and armed most of the villains with guns. gotta write a scene where the villain strikes at a victim and the flash saves them? make the flash closer to the victim than the villain is. want a tragic scene where the villain hurts an innocent? put the villain in between flash and the victim. want a scene where the flash himself gets hurt? if the villain shoots at him and he can't dodge to the side, he will get hit. it's so easy.

They should have (at least for the first two seasons when he is getting used to his powers) give him some sort of either endurance limit, control problem (like if he runs around too much his speed stops working, kinda like Ben 10’s watch), or just slower then lighting and some projectiles
The only thing I can think of for why he consistently gets hit by things much slower than him is his reaction speed is only super fast when he is using the speed force. So when he has his guard down he is just as vulnerable as anyone else to a normal attack. There’s still a lot of inconsistencies though because there are cases were it clearly is activated and he’s still too slow to avoid something. And like the guy in the video pointed out he doesn’t have to just stop and talk to the bad guy every time. If he just had the speed force activated all the time he would be invulnerable to almost anything.
@@jacobharris5894 I could definitely believe him dropping his guard if it were surprise attacks but getting hit in the middle of a fight is inexcusable. Barry just gonna have to hold that L, during a fight should be when your guard is the highest.
They could also make his speed a danger to civilians so if runs too carelessly people around him could die or something like that. Kinda like L-Train in the Boys

That, and most Flash stories usually give him enough competence to not let his wisecracks be the sole reason his enemies escape. His portrayal in the DCAU Justice League cartoon and its sequel Justice League: Unlimited handled Flash's character and counters perfectly, for instance.
You know in cartoons and shows they do actually acknowledge how competent most flash's are. Wally in the animated show was shown to be very confident in his abilities and rightfully so. Dude would curb stomp guys in seconds. They fully used his abilities in believable ways I think. Yea maybe some plot contrivance here and there but I think with the full line up of heroes they had they established risks really well with all the heroes including Flash.
Did the math, if flash can travel faster than lighting then he can travel over 53 kilometres a second, or over 33 miles a second. The average human's reacion time to visual stimulus is about 1/4 of a second, so the flash can travel over 12 kilometres before any human being can react to him. The level of overpowered this is means that no-one that doesn't have borderline godly metahuman reflexes could possibly stand any chance against him just running up and absolutely decking them.
Also even speedsters technically wouldn't be able to react to him unless they were already running at a speed close to the speed of light. (Not to mention the world would be darkness for him if he's faster than livht)
Tbh. Those were superpowered caused lightning. It doesn't necessarily travel at natural cloud lightning speed. Same for light attack. It's not actually light, more like slow travelling light particle. No, His biggest feat, is tied to simpler things. Like looking through a whole book instantly... Though, The show would be okay if Flash's speed ranged from 400 to 3000 mph dependinf on the scene. The problem is that he ranges from 5 mph to 50 000+ mph. (He literally has super speed moments whwre its just him in slow motion amd every one else in regular speed). The thing is that the writter don't understand relative change, thats the most unconscious bias that makes people not realising how big it is... (Not the einstein thing, I'm talking about a basic concept, that the difference between 0 and 1 lion in front of you is big. 1 and 2 is still big but smaller. And 29 and 30 is inconsequential. It's as basic as object permanance. Just divide the change by the number. Thats relative change. ). Example: 1 second is small to us because not much can be done in it on daily circumstances. So, adding or removing 1s from an action isn't much. Because most actions takes much more then 1 s. if the act took 5s, 1s is just a 20% error. That's acceptable. But if it takes 1 ms to take an action, adding 1 s is being off by a factor of 1000. It's 100 000% error. So, they non stop add a fixed time like 1s or 0.5 s or 2 s to things barry can do in ms or μs... From barry's pov, its like a whole day.
In the comics he can travel like a quintillion times faster then light, and can time travel, jump through dimensions, and like change the atmosphere of the earth. He is so stupidly overpowered there is nothing they can do to write a good plot and have to reboot constantly
@@Vulnresati Yeah, if we're counting comics there's no contest. But I was sticking to show since they've established his abilities and what he can definitely do
i recently learned that there was a 90's flash series, and several actors from it made cameos in this one - the flash's actor plays barry's dad, for example - and mark hamil was the trickster in that series. kinda neat.
To be fair, pretty sure besides for the fact that he seems to be immune from friction killing him (probably something speedforce related), his body is that of a normal human. So he's not meant to be resilient. The problem is that he's taking these hits that he should never be taking.
y'know the thing about the villain "The Turtle"? In the comics, Zoom isn't a speedster actually has the ability to slow down time without making a field of energy like the Turtle does.
I think even a "hero" with about three times the speed of a normal human would be nearly impossible to beat in hand to hand combat. The flash is much much faster. He shouldn't even have any problem with any of his none speedster opponents.
A way to counter this, would be to apply actual physics. So if you punch someone at 5x the speed of sound, it would be like being hit by a truck and the fist would go through them or turn them to jelly. So he has to move at regular speed when he touches anyone or he'd obliterate them. He'd still be impossible to beat in hand-to-hand, since he would see them fighting t slow motion. But would mean he couldn't do more damage than a boxer can with a punch
@@Canadian_Zac just because an insanely fast punch would go through someone doesn't mean he would need to fight a human speed. He could still swing as fast as a blink of an eye and slow down half a second before he hole punches someone. Even if that is too fine of control of his abilities for you he could still swing at least 3x as fast a normal human. The flash really is beyond fighting normal humans. Gorilla Grod is a good base level flash enemy. He isn't just the flash but bad and has a way to combat him on more equal footing.
@@IsaacClodfelter True. A regular person wouldn't have a chance. But an unnatural tough gorrilla could take a 3x power human punch... Im pretty sure a regular gorilla could take several of punches at 3 times human strength. At the least, it would limit his abilities. So he can't just instantly relocate people without breaking their necks and liquifying their organs. he can't just punch someone at light speed to instantly KO anything. It would at least, make it so the people he fights, actually have a realistic chance. Since its also veyr hard to knock someone out without causing brain damage. So he'd need to be REALLY careful with his punches to not just turn someone into a vegetable or break their neck with the whiplash. Would let him punch someone, move back so he can see what happens, then needs to move back in for another punch. Giving the enemies a chance to use their powers in some way
And therefore everyone that dies in the first season that show can be added to the list of people Barry could have saved. Let’s see, Rip’s family, Hawkman, Captain cold, the random murders of people who witnessed him, and everyone who died in the wars and plagues Vandal savage started when he took over the world.
Forget reaction speed. Whenever he is cornered or being grabbed/held by a villian, he can phase. It literally makes him untouchable. He could literally phase his entire body except for his hands so he can go around punching people without getting hurt
Was going to suggest that a villain could grab his hand somehow then slam him around, then I realized the guy that could react to bullets as they touched his neck could probably phase his hands faster than someone could yank him.
The fun part is that depending on the writer phasing doesn’t always exist similar to how Superman forgets that his ice breath can defuse most enemies……
watching this gives me so much joy. back when this was still running I had the same issues but everyone liked it for some reason so I said nothing, but oh boy am I having the time of my life right now
@@J_The_J He and Iris' love rebirths the speed force and 3 more forces which take over human bodies and all 4 of them call Barry and Iris mom and dad. I haven't even mentioned yet how Barry and Reverse Flash have a lightsaber fight with Godspeed.
Honestly there are quite a few villains in the series without super speed who absolutely have potential and reasonable explanations as to why they’re a problem but one way or another their potential is thrown out the window Hunka Hunka is basically Not-Angry Hulk but less OP, but his default state has a normal Human weight so even if fighting doesn’t work Barry could easily Relocate him That Poison Gas guy from the very first season could’ve just been like Sandman and technically ALWAYS be gas but able to look kinda Human sometimes. But we see occasions where he’s punched and doesn’t turn into Gas so we know that’s not how his powers work and he does indeed have a default flesh-based form so Relocation can still work on him Explosion Lady explodes people who touch them so logically neither fighting or relocation should work, but we see people touch her and not explode so times so the power isn’t ALWAYS active meaning fighting and relocation can work Hell even CAPTAIN FUCKING COLD has potential. If he were to say freeze the ground behind him whenever he starts a robbery as preparation for the Flash, this would give the unique setback of Barry slipping and sliding across the icy floor and thus being unable to use his super speed because it’s ineffective. Even Captain Heat or whatever his name is could just set fire to stuff around him if he thinks the Flash is near, creating a literal wall of fire out of burning buildings he’s within, Barry would be unable to fight him because fire fucking hurts and there’s fire between him and Captain Heat Peek-A-Boo or Doctor Light or whoever it was can apparently turn invisible which means Flash has a viable explanation on why he can’t find or catch her but it’s extremely inconsistent on whether or not she needs to take off her clothes to do so Slow-Mo over there, aka Hobo Oswald, can make anything around him super slow, so even if the Flash is around him using super speed he’d only be able to be like at normal person speed so they’re on an even playing field. However the reasons as to why Flash doesn’t immediately Relocate him before the power activated are Stop To Talk and Lack of Object Permanence as always The CW has had SO FUCKING MANY potential instances where many of their non-speedster villains can logistically pose a threat to Barry and they somehow fuck that potential up every single time without fail The only exceptions so far as Sandman and Tar Boy, and like maybe King Shark
Yea, I mean, it's not like a guy with super speed and super thought could possibly see ice on the ground. And turning invisible is completely irrelevant. He could headlock them before they even finish turning invisible. And if not, he could get to where they were standing in less than a fraction of a second before they could even move a toe making invisibility completely worthless. Even if he didn't see them turn invisible and they walked into a bank already invisible.....he could run the entire area with a blanket in again a second.

Then his whole “stopping right before and punching them at normal speed” could be a character moment where he’s actively making the decision to spare their life.
Or if he wasn't so absurdly fast to begin with. They should've gradually built up his speed over time, culminating in what we have now.
Or they could have just introduced the fact that his fist would shatter into thousands of little pieces if he punched someone at 500mph

If the writers have to include exposition dialogue, they should do it in a good way
That's what he almost always does in the comics
That's actually a nice explanation but the things is.... ALL of the characters in the show are stupid, not only Barry.
So this theory doesn't hold up
I think they went the route of Whiz in Heroes Reborn where he needs constant stimulation to the point he could operate dozens of pieces of technology at the same time and still be bored.
It's not that he's dumb, it's that he has ADHD.
It’s dumb how they keep nerfing him and now he’s faster than thawne when he’s been struggling to keep up with him since season 1 and now he’s faster but he’s of course gonna get nerfed again.

this is actually a fair move tbh
there's memes about batman not finishing the job but it doesn't bother anybody, so clearly it would have worked
He *is* trying to be a pacifist, he's just real bad at it lol
What's more egregious than him stopping to talk is non-speedster metas, and basic bitch humans some how repeatedly getting the drop on him when his reflexes are so fast he can literally dodge lightning. Fun fact: he says "there's nowhere to run" because he truly believes that that is the case. He has no spacial awareness, so he can't figure out that he can actually move towards a villain.

Comic Flash: "Disarms/disables opponent's weapons/powers the way a smart person like Barry would, then tries to convince his opponents to make up for their mistakes"
CW Flash: "Talks to opponents before even disarming or disabling their weapons or powers like a dumbass and gets his ass handed to him because he doesn't think before acting"

@@doofer6863 but flash could still take his gun away there should be no humans with just a gun any kind pretty much
the only way the freak of the week could possibly work is if the Flash had to actually eat food all the time during a fight, has another speedster going for kill shots at all times of the day, or had "erectile dysfunction" style problems with his speed
And we'll give a pass on how ftl speed breaks physics since it's a super hero show
I haven't seen the clip but you can avoid where the guy is going to shoot without being ftl.
Adding on to this, it's impossible for anything with mass travel at light speed, AND it's impossible to travel faster than the speed of light because the speed of light is the literal speed limit of the universe.

DC animated stuff is so good honestly
that scene where he runs around the earth to beat the shit out of Lex Luthor is 🔥🔥🔥
Did the math, if flash can travel faster than lighting then he can travel over 53 kilometres a second, or over 33 miles a second. The average human's reacion time to visual stimulus is about 1/4 of a second, so the flash can travel over 12 kilometres before any human being can react to him. The level of overpowered this is means that no-one that doesn't have borderline godly metahuman reflexes could possibly stand any chance against him just running up and absolutely decking them.
lmao
But I was sticking to show since they've established his abilities and what he can definitely do
i recently learned that there was a 90's flash series, and several actors from it made cameos in this one - the flash's actor plays barry's dad, for example - and mark hamil was the trickster in that series.
kinda neat.

@@ravenhart4387 And while it may be distracting at first, you eventually end up getting used to it.
The thing that pisses me off the most in this series is that in most fights he just takes one hit and f*cking faints, out for the whole fight.
To be fair, pretty sure besides for the fact that he seems to be immune from friction killing him (probably something speedforce related), his body is that of a normal human. So he's not meant to be resilient. The problem is that he's taking these hits that he should never be taking.
While Batman and Green Arrow takes literal gunshots, heavy blows and actual sword slashes at them.

@@Spoantaneus You thought I was Jay Garrick, but it was I, ZOOM
@@Canadian_Zac True, but he could at least not take the hit or just tie em up
Origin of the perfect crime buster: Flash buys a taser and tranq gun. Crime goes down 90% in one night. Tranq darts sale skyrocket.
Giving the enemies a chance to use their powers in some way
This is some of the most addicting editing ever. I was laughing and engaged the whole time, great video series!!!
*WHEN YOU REALIZE LEGENDS OF TOMORROW WOULDNT EXIST IF BARRY HAD KNOCKED OUT VANDAL SAVAGE FROM THE GET GO*
omg ur so right
@Rasb3ry :O OH the burn is hot
@Rasb3ry But it wouldn’t of existed though.
And therefore everyone that dies in the first season that show can be added to the list of people Barry could have saved. Let’s see, Rip’s family, Hawkman, Captain cold, the random murders of people who witnessed him, and everyone who died in the wars and plagues Vandal savage started when he took over the world.
Half of the villain's in legends of tomorrow would not exist if barry did his job
Forget reaction speed. Whenever he is cornered or being grabbed/held by a villian, he can phase. It literally makes him untouchable. He could literally phase his entire body except for his hands so he can go around punching people without getting hurt
That require him to be smart enough to think of that. But as this series is called " The Dumbest Man Alive", It's pretty much impossible
Was going to suggest that a villain could grab his hand somehow then slam him around, then I realized the guy that could react to bullets as they touched his neck could probably phase his hands faster than someone could yank him.
Maybe when he is in the speed force his IQ dropped 100
The fun part is that depending on the writer phasing doesn’t always exist similar to how Superman forgets that his ice breath can defuse most enemies……
Only Amazo used this ability like that. And Zoom few times and thats all. Such missed opportunity

The element of surprise
Nice one my G
Lmao
Honestly there are quite a few villains in the series without super speed who absolutely have potential and reasonable explanations as to why they’re a problem but one way or another their potential is thrown out the window
Hunka Hunka is basically Not-Angry Hulk but less OP, but his default state has a normal Human weight so even if fighting doesn’t work Barry could easily Relocate him
That Poison Gas guy from the very first season could’ve just been like Sandman and technically ALWAYS be gas but able to look kinda Human sometimes. But we see occasions where he’s punched and doesn’t turn into Gas so we know that’s not how his powers work and he does indeed have a default flesh-based form so Relocation can still work on him
Explosion Lady explodes people who touch them so logically neither fighting or relocation should work, but we see people touch her and not explode so times so the power isn’t ALWAYS active meaning fighting and relocation can work
Hell even CAPTAIN FUCKING COLD has potential. If he were to say freeze the ground behind him whenever he starts a robbery as preparation for the Flash, this would give the unique setback of Barry slipping and sliding across the icy floor and thus being unable to use his super speed because it’s ineffective. Even Captain Heat or whatever his name is could just set fire to stuff around him if he thinks the Flash is near, creating a literal wall of fire out of burning buildings he’s within, Barry would be unable to fight him because fire fucking hurts and there’s fire between him and Captain Heat
Peek-A-Boo or Doctor Light or whoever it was can apparently turn invisible which means Flash has a viable explanation on why he can’t find or catch her but it’s extremely inconsistent on whether or not she needs to take off her clothes to do so
Slow-Mo over there, aka Hobo Oswald, can make anything around him super slow, so even if the Flash is around him using super speed he’d only be able to be like at normal person speed so they’re on an even playing field. However the reasons as to why Flash doesn’t immediately Relocate him before the power activated are Stop To Talk and Lack of Object Permanence as always
The CW has had SO FUCKING MANY potential instances where many of their non-speedster villains can logistically pose a threat to Barry and they somehow fuck that potential up every single time without fail
The only exceptions so far as Sandman and Tar Boy, and like maybe King Shark
Well said!
@@dissrapsIn the comics, Captain Cold gun can actually generate a cold field of near absolute zero temperature but then I realize that this is the Flash writers, so why I even bother lmao.
