@@GalvatronStudios with all due respect since I think ur cool, that's a very wrong and unnecessary thing to do as aoe clearly does a good job at showing the aftermath of what happened after Chicago battle, the humans turning on them, cemetery wind and ksi, etc. it could've had a follow-up on what happened to the other autobots, but that's one issue as everything else works perfectly. The last knight is a clear followup, but I can see why you'd say something for that as it has many retcons and things that change it's lore, but it was meant to be the start of a cinematic universe.
My only gripe with the Trilogy was the changing of the female cast. Like it doesn't change much, but the stupid decisions of actors lead to breaking the continuity of the elements.

So I'm probably going to stop after this Lockdown ONLY WORKED with the humans because it was necessary, that doesn't mean he wanted to. The same way the humans WORKED with him despite disliking transformers, they HAD TO. As long as it is temporary, and the humans only agreed to help lockdown because it'd involve him leaving after (they don't want transformers on earth in the long run) and after, the humans and society would get a benefit from it while also getting rid of transformers by someone who's not on either faction. Getting rid of prime would prove to be even more beneficial. The writers clearly did it like this for a reason, this is common in fiction and makes sense, your reasons are genuinely proving nothing 2. Lockdown said the species mixing each other upset the cosmic balance, species, that would only apply to species, not the seed. Unless you prove it is referring to objects, then you'd have a valid point. Also, even if it was an unclear statement, that would only be one issue so far out of everything you presented which wouldn't even prove the movie is 3% flawed. 3. Whether Lockdown was being used as an asset or not doesn't ruin his character, because lockdown was ALSO using them as one. Lockdown asserts himself clear when he said "I don't care" to the literal leader of the group The definition of asset: useful, valuable Lockdown was useful, the same way cemetery wind was useful as they'd help each other with goals, temporarily. 4. Lockdown being a feared bounty hunter of the galaxy doesn't mean others can't be a threat or can't be near his level. Optimus is literally a prime and the same species of course he's going to have a threat to face. Humans being involved would make the process quicker and easier, especially when they have upgraded technology that can defeat transformers, it's no wonder he chose to work with them 5. Tlk is not related to aoe, so no point in bringing that up. We can agree to disagree if you want, because this has gotten tiring. Unless you can provide new evidence for your claims I wouldn't mind staying I guess.
These three films are like the new star wars prequels. At first they got a ton of criticism and now that there's a differet interpretation of the transformers franchise, these films suddenly get praise.
It because they were the transformers for the large public, now that there are making more movies about transformers. they just become another element in the transformers universe
Nah I recently rewatched them and the first one is the only tolerable one, dark of the moon literally put me to sleep. Time passing doesn’t make movies great all of a sudden.
TLK is my guilty pleasure movie. I discard both AoE and TLK from cannon, but TLK is just such a silly movie that I just adore it. That and Sir Anthony Hopkins is just a treasure to witness in the insanity of it all.

The only problem is that we know that transformers can have a great and intriguing plot, just look at the comics, they are some of the best transformers stories ever written.

@@nitalukder2108 You can either go by the original Marvel run in the US, or the UK one. (UK run was better in terms of giving characters more recognition and spotlight stories.) You can read Regeneration one as well, IDW's run is beautiful and maybe abit of Dreamwave. It just depends on what you like in Transformers, but I would recommend IDW first.

I seriously don’t get why there was a subplot of Sam finding a job. As you said, he could have joined up with NEST. Hell, he clearly wanted to. And while he isn’t a soldier (definitely couldn’t he hired in that capacity), there was SOMETHING they could have given him like janitorial or maintenance work with the occasional autobot assisting. As long as we worked with the Autobots and hung out with Bee, he likely would have been happy with just that.
Main problem is that Every human on this franchise is a imbecile loud goblin, and Sam is a terrible human being even when compared to other people, NEST would NEVER hire him because 1. @@PoIarisPrime in the 2nd movie, it made sense. Sam was in college and clearly reminded Optimus that he (OP) doesn't need Sam, which Optimus says otherwise. What doesn't make sense to me is how by the time the third movie arrives, Sam isn't in witness protection or secured himself an actual job and still has the get his resume questioned, even after his identity got leaked in the 2nd movie. So yeah I agree with the original comment that it doesn't make sense Sam is looking for a job, but at the same time acknowledge Sam didn't want to be involved in ROTF
I’ve watched AoE recently and it honestly wasn’t that bad. I’d say it’s underrated to be honest. The only thing that ticked me off majorly was the boyfriend Shane guy, other than that it was pretty simple and enjoyable
Actually, we do know why Optimus was redesigned to be a knight in AOE. The thing that brought Michael Bay back was not because DOTM was so successful, but rather him going to Orlando to see Transformers: The Ride and Paramount offering to fund Pain & Gain. As for the former, a big part of the ride is a character named Evac who is the last of the Knights of Cybertron, who were the guardians of the AllSpark. Ehren Kruger (the writer of ROTF, DOTM, and AOE) wanted to use AOE to explore the origins of the transformers, particularly Optimus, and Michael Bay must have suggested that Optimus be made a knight. Ehren Kruger worked out a whole new mythology surrounding these knights which would’ve been explored in his sequel to AOE, but he was fired after the critical reception to AOE arrived. His replacement, Akiva Goldsman, is the one who came up with ridiculously idiotic mythology of the knights having been part of King Arthur’s Round Table, and the canon-breaking Order of Witwiccans. We know Ehren Kruger hadn’t intended to introduce anything like this because his knights had been delivered to the Creators by Lockdown centuries before the events of AOE and were not in stasis aboard a ship underwater on Earth as was revealed in TLK. It was also said that the Knights were fugitives because they disrupted a cosmic balance through the crime of “species mixing with species,” which doesn’t match their crime in TLK of stealing the Staff of Power from the goddess Quintessa, who never mentions a cosmic balance. Instead, she says Optimus’ crime was destroying Cybertron even though that’s also not “species mixing with species” either. It should also be mentioned that Optimus isn’t even a Guardian Knight in TLK as Quintessa had to explain their history to him, he only knew about Unicron. On one final note, the knight redesign for Optimus is the best Optimus Prime design that has ever been created, so it cannot be criticized in any way.
@@savistone7218You’re welcome. I guess I should also mention that my favorite of the five films is Age of Extinction, and that I think it’s misunderstood. The film has just as many issues as those that preceded it, but I think the biggest problem it has is the same one that unfortunately plagues the Synder Cut: That they’re both part of an incomplete story. Michael Bay made the film as a last hurrah, utilizing stuff he hadn’t had access to in the prior films like the CIA and on location shooting in China, but where the film would be going in it’s sequel is the actually important part, and Ehren Kruger set it up perfectly. Lockdown is only supposed to be the first glimpse into the universe that Optimus will find himself in after leaving Earth, and since Lockdown is the best villain in the franchise, it was going to be a really cool universe at that. Kruger even taunted the audience with this information, having Lockdown say “All the galaxies I’ve traveled, you species are all the same. You all think you’re the center of the universe. You have no idea…” to Attinger. The Last Knight completely fumbled this setup though by centering the entire film around Earth again, and don’t even get me started on the Creators. If we had actually seen the Creators, it would’ve been like Darkseid invading Earth in Justice League: Part II. Anyway, other reasons people discard Age of Extinction is out of the accusation that it’s not well written or not well produced, but I’d only point them to a video from RUclipsr John Pattison titled: Transformers Age of Extinction is BETTER THAN YOU REMEMBER. His only failing is not understanding what took place between DOTM and AOE, but I did that work myself on a page in transformers.fandom.com called End of the Alliance. One last thing, the Creators did not cause the extinction event on Earth. They rather arrived on Earth a few years before the arrival of the meteor, carried out a targeted bombing run on like maybe three valleys in prehistoric Antarctica, collected elemental metal, and left to unload their cargo. This is why the elemental metal is said to be so rare and why the film opens in Antarctica, the entire planet was never terraformed. There were no where near enough ships for that.
One crucial thing Michael Bay proved in TLK is that full-on CGI final battles are terrible for live-action films. Which was later on repeated with RotB, which was its major let down.
Even as a child I used to notice all the writing flaws and retcons that came with each instalment but I always loved these films especially the first two but I haven’t seen any since age of extinction
So the reason why the transformation is so satisfying is that the parts are shrinking and expanding. Also, the robots do gimmicks like backflips or transforming while running or falling and transforming. Also, they add fake parts to make illusions so Bumblebees front is small but it turns bigger.
My only problem with 1-3 is how violent Optimus became in 2 and 3. In the first, Optimus killing Bonecrusher is quick and relatively clean. He's more concerned with sacrificing himself than wishing to kill any Decepticon, expressed remorse that Megatron had to die, and part of me thinks he genuinely believed the Decepticons would stop fighting once the All-Spark was destroyed as they would have no reason to. (Likely because the original DOTM ending was something similar). In the sequels he goes from this to ripping off faces with hooks and axes. I really hated the redesign in 4 and 5 so I never bothered watching the last
If I died once already, stabbed in the back (literally), my mentor betraying me, killing my friends and starting a whole invasion to enslave the species I swore to protect, also attempted to kill me and my friends a 2nd time, I'd lose my cool too.
I'm really happy that some people finally appreciate and love the Bayformers franchise. Despite their flaws, the Bayformers movies make up a large part of my childhood. Even now, I still remember the first time when I watched Transformers (2007) and how awesome it was to my young brain. Nowadays, I do not or cannot feel the same about the latest Transformers movies at all. No matter how many times I rewatch Bumblebee and Rise of the Beasts, I don't have the same feeling of inspiration and awe-inspiring anymore. The Transformers in the Bayformers universe feel VERY real and lively whereas the latest Transformers feel... off somehow.
It could’ve been perfect if it just ended at DoTM (which it did, the two movies that came after are failed attempts of a reboot, with Bumblebee being a second attempt and actually succeeding)
They kept retconning stuff even within the first three movies. I couldnt get behind anything other than the first movie and specifically John Goodman the transformer

For the past 3 years or so, the world amusingly went "Yeah, let's forget AoE and TLK", and many people collectively referred to the Bayformers as a trilogy without much prior discussion to kick AoE and TLK out It all started when Sam wasn't the main guy and they turned Optimus into an absurdly large man. With barely any truck parts. I love the og trilogy, say what you want about Bay but at least he had passion for the first three. He was just being generous with that Hong Kong battle in AoE
a lot of people think aoe is underrated tho and it's arguably the best one in the entire franchise bc more character development and more personality for the robots + Megatron is actually pulling the strings here as galvatron and we aren't exactly facing just decepticons anymore

Imagine back in 2014, thinking Prime is embarking on a space adventure only to realize he was back on Earth just 3 years after AoE released. TLK should've been TF 6 or 7, it's too early Optimus to return to Earth after such a threat he made at the end of AoE I'm saying AoE is missed potential because the long runtime was misused, (I love the Hong Kong battle more than ROTF Egypt) but dang did AoE's highway battle suck compared to like 07 or DOTM's, the redesigns were hit-or-miss. They got the plot points right, hunting down both Bots and Cons as fugitives, reusing their parts and tech ceo using Transformers for their own benefit, but it still lacked.

Not really, it's just that the kids who grew up on it now have a voice to speak up and we get to hear how much they loved it. This happens to every generation tbh, you tend to love what you grew up on. Not saying this is 100% always the case, but it's a common occurrence. People nowadays call the current kid shows trash, but when those kids grow older they will be making video essays titled "Why Paw Patrol is the best show of all time" lol.
Grounded. That is the word your looking for. An example for a grounded material is something like monster hunter. Rathalos has 4 limbs like all animals. It had realistic behavior. But elder dragons are more fantastical. Transformers is the same but the elder dragons are the transformers. Sure they are grounded but they are unrealistic.

Okay look, I hate the bayformers movies but I can agree that the main triliogy had its moments. I'm not trying to hate on your opinion to be honest I'm glad that there are fans of theses movies showing that it wasn't all a waste of time for the creators.
I would not say peak, even as someone who likes 1,2, and 3. Besides the weird bay humor in all three, TF1 is alright, TF2 is the weakest but has some kickass fights, and TF3 is my favorite with the most off the wall action. If i can say anything about the other two, its that AOE Grimlock is cool and TLK Barricade is cool, but besides that, im not a fan of TF 4 and 5. Im hoping that Transformers One will be great so we can get a new series, cause im liking its tone and we get a movie without humans so the cybertronians get the full spotlight.

It is my unpopular opinion that AOE and TLK are decent (not "good") movies on their own. Both have some pretty damn cool ideas tbh and I personally enjoy them. But good god. They are actually awful as part of an existing series.
Age of extinction is better than revenge of the fallen and dark of the moon. It also built off dark of the moon perfectly by showing the aftermath of how the humans react to the destruction in dotm.
Heavy agree. AOE had the best line-up of Autobots and Villains IMO, While Galvatron i thought was heavily underused he STILL had more to do than most of the villains in DOTM.
Buuuut, that’s not how “humans” reacted to the events of DOTM, it’s how a select military group reacted. Remember, the president wanted to meet Optimus, even he was kept in the dark about the killings.

This would've been solved if ROTF was skipped, DOTM went ahead and AOE was last. I think it flows better that way If it were reworked: 1st movie = Arrival to Earth 2nd movie = Coexisting in Earth 3rd movie = Fugitives in Earth
I know AOE is a disgrace but I’m kinda happy that we got to see galvatron and the Dinos. I feel like they could’ve just done that within the original trilogy tho instead of them just making the first three movies re-hashes of each other
While I do agree they're not as good as 07 and Dark of the Moon I actually really enjoy Age of Extinction and The Last Knight. None of these movies are perfect, I basically consider them all movies to turn your brain off to watch.
I love the theory that the Decepticons are the most good faction in these movies, still not with good intentions but they are stopping the space satan and his offspring aka humans.
Look I’m not gonna sit here and say I hate the live action totally , but peak…. That’s a stretch , they were technically impressive, had some really good moments even, and entertaining for the most part .. but transformers best strength is its wide cast of diverse characters, and it’s really cool and unique angles of storytelling. It doesn’t have to be g1 but the movies do not respect the transformers as complex characters or story points I think movies 1-3 are great I love the first movie and what it setup but after there’s no characters really just plot devices and the storytelling is frustrating because the transformers which should be the movies main thing are relegated to being barely visible unless it’s bumblebee, or Optimus , half of the time some just sit in vehicle mode for a lot of scenes like dotm could be awsome… but there’s no transformers characters in it just Optimus barely and sentinel megatron just sits out most of the movie. Your entitled to your opinions but the bay movies just don’t respect the characters or what transformers is always actually been about their not just about robots who turn into vehicles in a war , they have always been “more than meets the eye” and the movies simply miss that

What people keep misunderstanding about the Bayformers is that it wasn't made with high cinema in mind. Michael says this as much. It's meant to be a huge blockbuster action packed film that teenagers can enjoy. Key word: TEENAGERS. And even then, adults can still enjoy it. It knows that it is and is unashamed at being so. The plots are simple and straightforward, the humor is outrageous and over the top ridiculous, the action is adrenaline inducing awe and spectacle, some fanservice moments sprinkled here and there for spice. How I see the Bayverse is that it's an action adventure film first and foremost, with the Transformers being these larger than life Lovecraftian (in terms of design) set pieces and backdrops. Do I want a more TF focused film? Obviously. But sometimes, you have to meet a film on its terms to judge it fairly and objectively, not what YOU want out of it. You can't judge a juicy burger with large fries and a Coke fairly if you're going in expecting fine dining with the best cut of steak and wine. They're totally different things. The problem I see with a lot of haters is that they expect Bayverse to be fine dining when it's honestly telling and showing us its just a damn good fast food burger. Also Bayverse still has the best live action designs, at least the OT.
Bro just because a film can be enjoyed by teens and adults doesn't mean it should misrepresent a IP. There's a difference between well written films that aren't citizen Kane but aren't trying to be dumb fun either and just dumb fun that doesn't care if it's accurate to the source material or not. There's a reason why TF animated, tf prime and the cybertron games were met with high praise from fans meanwhile at the same time, these movies got mixed reactions time and time again. As films, the bayverse doesn't represent the franchise properly. Fun films but they're better off as their own things and not what the franchise should of had as the first live action films. Haters of the bayverse want proper representation of the franchise, not the next godfather. Is that hard to ask? It's the equivalent of asking marvel writers to read the comics and stop making unnecessary changes. A simple request that shouldn't be hard to bring to the screen. If we are comparing TF to food then the franchise is a grocery store of many different types of good and bad foods and the bayverse is leaning towards the food that's not healthy but it's delicious side. Meanwhile most of the franchise leans towards the healthy or average food you can eat on a regular basis.

The first three were good. DOTM is the best while ROTF was the worst. AOE’s plot was interesting but it makes up in character designs and actually giving a new character a decent personality, Hound was a blessing. TLK sucked. No way around it.
Yes, peak Transformers. When nothing makes sense, the continuity is all over the place and characters who are either incompetent or stupid. Just because the movie is supposed to be fun doesn’t mean it can’t be good and have characters who aren’t stupid and a story that isn’t laughable.
Bumblebee which was directed by Travis Knight had what the first Bayformers film lacked. Character driven storytelling slowing down on the action to focus on the characters of Bumblebee (voiced by Dylan O'Brien) and Charlie Watson (Hailee Steinfeld)

All the live action Transformers movies have this human Transformer relationship problem where it kinda feels forced and we always get a mcguffin chasing end of the world scenario and the we get action every 5 minutes with a little less slowed down emotional scenes for a couple of minutes but they usually don't last then we are back to the non stop action where we get a little less development in the characters. In "Bumblebee", we didn't get a action-packed end of the world mcguffin chasing scenario nor action every 5 minutes unless you are looking at act 3 and the prologue for the action. Sure "Bumblebee" lacked action but it made up for it with a ET and inspired coming of age story focused on the chemistry between Charlie Watson (Hailee Steinfeld) and Bumblebee (voiced by Dylan O'Brien, in the prologue). So we need to look at all the reasons why each live action Transformers movie are basically the same movie. "Bumblebee" is basically what Spielberg envisioned for the 2007 Transformers movie to be like where Bay would have thought it would be too kidish. Michael Bay (producer of "Bumblebee" and "Transformers: Rise of the Beasts") told Travis Knight (director of "Bumblebee") to make "Bumblebee" the way Travis Knight wants to make a Transformers movie. At least no offense to Steven Caple Jr. (Director of "Transformers: Rise of the Beasts") Knight didn't have to direct a Bayformers movie without Michael Bay
Eh, not really. The first is okay at best, Revenge is terrible and Dark was a fun bad movie. The films pale in retrospect with shows like Beast Wars, Animated or Prime. Even Armada, which, despite being meh compared to other shows, actually bothered to develop the characters beyond the "good guy who's tough". The trilogy is still better than Age of Excrement or The Last Turd, no denying that. Those 2 are just as dogshit as Energon.

DOTM was incredibly boring filled with horrible acting and mushed together characters & villains with lack of screen time while trying to fit in the most possible giving you blue-balls the entire time packed in with weird unsettling & awkward human drama. While AOE was filled with hype until the end where the climax was more than good with amazing action, Actual cool villains and a right amount of Hollywood corniness. Everyone has lied to themselves so much into believing AOE was bad because of audience manipulation from reviews and people that are big in the communities, TLK was bad, AOE was not even close to bad. Most of the people saying AOE don't have an actual opinion on it they just regurgitate others opinions so they can fit into the community. Not only that, Since when was ROTF good? Apart from the forest fight scene the rest of it was absolute (Very rarely joyful & fun) trash so why is everyone praising the "trilogy" even though Transformers 2007 carried it? Stop glorifying a "trilogy" that fell off after the second movie while the rest were just enjoyable guilty pleasures (Some better than others) up until TLK.
You ain't lying I was hesitant to buy the 5 movie blu ray collection because I heard how bad 4/5 were and wanted to just stop at dark of the moon but after watching AOE I actually found it equal if not better than Dark of the moon and leagues better in than revenge of the fallen. Like I understand people have nostalgia towards the trilogy but as a fan of the movies since 07 the first movie I'm not gonna shit on a decent movie.

DOTM is the biggest insult for the most fans of characters like Soundwave and Shockwave also. My boi Soundwave got literally killed by the frickin plot armor character. Not only saying that he's just all silver and in the action I can't even tell where he's. Shockwave... His death is even worse... original trilogy is hands-down the best of the movies. id give AOE a 6/10. TLK was just... they tried to hard. Bumblebee was very different but i loved it! @@GalvatronStudios with all due respect since I think ur cool, that's a very wrong and unnecessary thing to do as aoe clearly does a good job at showing the aftermath of what happened after Chicago battle, the humans turning on them, cemetery wind and ksi, etc. it could've had a follow-up on what happened to the other autobots, but that's one issue as everything else works perfectly.
The last knight is a clear followup, but I can see why you'd say something for that as it has many retcons and things that change it's lore, but it was meant to be the start of a cinematic universe.

My only gripe with the Trilogy was the changing of the female cast. Like it doesn't change much, but the stupid decisions of actors lead to breaking the continuity of the elements.

Lockdown ONLY WORKED with the humans because it was necessary, that doesn't mean he wanted to.
The same way the humans WORKED with him despite disliking transformers, they HAD TO.
As long as it is temporary, and the humans only agreed to help lockdown because it'd involve him leaving after (they don't want transformers on earth in the long run) and after, the humans and society would get a benefit from it while also getting rid of transformers by someone who's not on either faction. Getting rid of prime would prove to be even more beneficial.

You can read Regeneration one as well, IDW's run is beautiful and maybe abit of Dreamwave. It just depends on what you like in Transformers, but I would recommend IDW first.

I seriously don’t get why there was a subplot of Sam finding a job. As you said, he could have joined up with NEST. Hell, he clearly wanted to. And while he isn’t a soldier (definitely couldn’t he hired in that capacity), there was SOMETHING they could have given him like janitorial or maintenance work with the occasional autobot assisting. As long as we worked with the Autobots and hung out with Bee, he likely would have been happy with just that.
Main problem is that Every human on this franchise is a imbecile loud goblin, and Sam is a terrible human being even when compared to other people, NEST would NEVER hire him because

What doesn't make sense to me is how by the time the third movie arrives, Sam isn't in witness protection or secured himself an actual job and still has the get his resume questioned, even after his identity got leaked in the 2nd movie.
So yeah I agree with the original comment that it doesn't make sense Sam is looking for a job, but at the same time acknowledge Sam didn't want to be involved in ROTF
I’ve watched AoE recently and it honestly wasn’t that bad. I’d say it’s underrated to be honest. The only thing that ticked me off majorly was the boyfriend Shane guy, other than that it was pretty simple and enjoyable
Actually, we do know why Optimus was redesigned to be a knight in AOE. The thing that brought Michael Bay back was not because DOTM was so successful, but rather him going to Orlando to see Transformers: The Ride and Paramount offering to fund Pain & Gain. As for the former, a big part of the ride is a character named Evac who is the last of the Knights of Cybertron, who were the guardians of the AllSpark. Ehren Kruger (the writer of ROTF, DOTM, and AOE) wanted to use AOE to explore the origins of the transformers, particularly Optimus, and Michael Bay must have suggested that Optimus be made a knight. Ehren Kruger worked out a whole new mythology surrounding these knights which would’ve been explored in his sequel to AOE, but he was fired after the critical reception to AOE arrived. His replacement, Akiva Goldsman, is the one who came up with ridiculously idiotic mythology of the knights having been part of King Arthur’s Round Table, and the canon-breaking Order of Witwiccans. We know Ehren Kruger hadn’t intended to introduce anything like this because his knights had been delivered to the Creators by Lockdown centuries before the events of AOE and were not in stasis aboard a ship underwater on Earth as was revealed in TLK. It was also said that the Knights were fugitives because they disrupted a cosmic balance through the crime of “species mixing with species,” which doesn’t match their crime in TLK of stealing the Staff of Power from the goddess Quintessa, who never mentions a cosmic balance. Instead, she says Optimus’ crime was destroying Cybertron even though that’s also not “species mixing with species” either. It should also be mentioned that Optimus isn’t even a Guardian Knight in TLK as Quintessa had to explain their history to him, he only knew about Unicron. On one final note, the knight redesign for Optimus is the best Optimus Prime design that has ever been created, so it cannot be criticized in any way.

@@savistone7218You’re welcome. I guess I should also mention that my favorite of the five films is Age of Extinction, and that I think it’s misunderstood. The film has just as many issues as those that preceded it, but I think the biggest problem it has is the same one that unfortunately plagues the Synder Cut: That they’re both part of an incomplete story. Michael Bay made the film as a last hurrah, utilizing stuff he hadn’t had access to in the prior films like the CIA and on location shooting in China, but where the film would be going in it’s sequel is the actually important part, and Ehren Kruger set it up perfectly. Lockdown is only supposed to be the first glimpse into the universe that Optimus will find himself in after leaving Earth, and since Lockdown is the best villain in the franchise, it was going to be a really cool universe at that. Kruger even taunted the audience with this information, having Lockdown say “All the galaxies I’ve traveled, you species are all the same. You all think you’re the center of the universe. You have no idea…” to Attinger. The Last Knight completely fumbled this setup though by centering the entire film around Earth again, and don’t even get me started on the Creators. If we had actually seen the Creators, it would’ve been like Darkseid invading Earth in Justice League: Part II. Anyway, other reasons people discard Age of Extinction is out of the accusation that it’s not well written or not well produced, but I’d only point them to a video from RUclipsr John Pattison titled: Transformers Age of Extinction is BETTER THAN YOU REMEMBER. His only failing is not understanding what took place between DOTM and AOE, but I did that work myself on a page in transformers.fandom.com called End of the Alliance. One last thing, the Creators did not cause the extinction event on Earth. They rather arrived on Earth a few years before the arrival of the meteor, carried out a targeted bombing run on like maybe three valleys in prehistoric Antarctica, collected elemental metal, and left to unload their cargo. This is why the elemental metal is said to be so rare and why the film opens in Antarctica, the entire planet was never terraformed. There were no where near enough ships for that.

One crucial thing Michael Bay proved in TLK is that full-on CGI final battles are terrible for live-action films. Which was later on repeated with RotB, which was its major let down.
Even as a child I used to notice all the writing flaws and retcons that came with each instalment but I always loved these films especially the first two but I haven’t seen any since age of extinction
So the reason why the transformation is so satisfying is that the parts are shrinking and expanding. Also, the robots do gimmicks like backflips or transforming while running or falling and transforming. Also, they add fake parts to make illusions so Bumblebees front is small but it turns bigger.
My only problem with 1-3 is how violent Optimus became in 2 and 3. In the first, Optimus killing Bonecrusher is quick and relatively clean. He's more concerned with sacrificing himself than wishing to kill any Decepticon, expressed remorse that Megatron had to die, and part of me thinks he genuinely believed the Decepticons would stop fighting once the All-Spark was destroyed as they would have no reason to. (Likely because the original DOTM ending was something similar).
In the sequels he goes from this to ripping off faces with hooks and axes.

I'm really happy that some people finally appreciate and love the Bayformers franchise. Despite their flaws, the Bayformers movies make up a large part of my childhood. Even now, I still remember the first time when I watched Transformers (2007) and how awesome it was to my young brain. Nowadays, I do not or cannot feel the same about the latest Transformers movies at all. No matter how many times I rewatch Bumblebee and Rise of the Beasts, I don't have the same feeling of inspiration and awe-inspiring anymore. The Transformers in the Bayformers universe feel VERY real and lively whereas the latest Transformers feel... off somehow.

I'm saying AoE is missed potential because the long runtime was misused, (I love the Hong Kong battle more than ROTF Egypt) but dang did AoE's highway battle suck compared to like 07 or DOTM's, the redesigns were hit-or-miss. They got the plot points right, hunting down both Bots and Cons as fugitives, reusing their parts and tech ceo using Transformers for their own benefit, but it still lacked.

Besides the weird bay humor in all three, TF1 is alright, TF2 is the weakest but has some kickass fights, and TF3 is my favorite with the most off the wall action. If i can say anything about the other two, its that AOE Grimlock is cool and TLK Barricade is cool, but besides that, im not a fan of TF 4 and 5.
Im hoping that Transformers One will be great so we can get a new series, cause im liking its tone and we get a movie without humans so the cybertronians get the full spotlight.
TF2 is the strongest film out of the 3 tho (the others were excellent too tho)

It is my unpopular opinion that AOE and TLK are decent (not "good") movies on their own. Both have some pretty damn cool ideas tbh and I personally enjoy them.
But good god. They are actually awful as part of an existing series.

Age of extinction is better than revenge of the fallen and dark of the moon. It also built off dark of the moon perfectly by showing the aftermath of how the humans react to the destruction in dotm.
Heavy agree. AOE had the best line-up of Autobots and Villains IMO, While Galvatron i thought was heavily underused he STILL had more to do than most of the villains in DOTM.
Buuuut, that’s not how “humans” reacted to the events of DOTM, it’s how a select military group reacted. Remember, the president wanted to meet Optimus, even he was kept in the dark about the killings.

This would've been solved if ROTF was skipped, DOTM went ahead and AOE was last. I think it flows better that way

While I do agree they're not as good as 07 and Dark of the Moon I actually really enjoy Age of Extinction and The Last Knight. None of these movies are perfect, I basically consider them all movies to turn your brain off to watch.
I love the theory that the Decepticons are the most good faction in these movies, still not with good intentions but they are stopping the space satan and his offspring aka humans.

Look I’m not gonna sit here and say I hate the live action totally , but peak…. That’s a stretch , they were technically impressive, had some really good moments even, and entertaining for the most part .. but transformers best strength is its wide cast of diverse characters, and it’s really cool and unique angles of storytelling. It doesn’t have to be g1 but the movies do not respect the transformers as complex characters or story points I think movies 1-3 are great I love the first movie and what it setup but after there’s no characters really just plot devices and the storytelling is frustrating because the transformers which should be the movies main thing are relegated to being barely visible unless it’s bumblebee, or Optimus , half of the time some just sit in vehicle mode for a lot of scenes like dotm could be awsome… but there’s no transformers characters in it just Optimus barely and sentinel megatron just sits out most of the movie. Your entitled to your opinions but the bay movies just don’t respect the characters or what transformers is always actually been about their not just about robots who turn into vehicles in a war , they have always been “more than meets the eye” and the movies simply miss that

What people keep misunderstanding about the Bayformers is that it wasn't made with high cinema in mind. Michael says this as much. It's meant to be a huge blockbuster action packed film that teenagers can enjoy. Key word: TEENAGERS. And even then, adults can still enjoy it.
It knows that it is and is unashamed at being so. The plots are simple and straightforward, the humor is outrageous and over the top ridiculous, the action is adrenaline inducing awe and spectacle, some fanservice moments sprinkled here and there for spice.
How I see the Bayverse is that it's an action adventure film first and foremost, with the Transformers being these larger than life Lovecraftian (in terms of design) set pieces and backdrops. Do I want a more TF focused film? Obviously. But sometimes, you have to meet a film on its terms to judge it fairly and objectively, not what YOU want out of it.
You can't judge a juicy burger with large fries and a Coke fairly if you're going in expecting fine dining with the best cut of steak and wine. They're totally different things.
The problem I see with a lot of haters is that they expect Bayverse to be fine dining when it's honestly telling and showing us its just a damn good fast food burger.
Also Bayverse still has the best live action designs, at least the OT.

Bro just because a film can be enjoyed by teens and adults doesn't mean it should misrepresent a IP. There's a difference between well written films that aren't citizen Kane but aren't trying to be dumb fun either and just dumb fun that doesn't care if it's accurate to the source material or not. There's a reason why TF animated, tf prime and the cybertron games were met with high praise from fans meanwhile at the same time, these movies got mixed reactions time and time again.
As films, the bayverse doesn't represent the franchise properly. Fun films but they're better off as their own things and not what the franchise should of had as the first live action films. Haters of the bayverse want proper representation of the franchise, not the next godfather. Is that hard to ask? It's the equivalent of asking marvel writers to read the comics and stop making unnecessary changes. A simple request that shouldn't be hard to bring to the screen.
If we are comparing TF to food then the franchise is a grocery store of many different types of good and bad foods and the bayverse is leaning towards the food that's not healthy but it's delicious side. Meanwhile most of the franchise leans towards the healthy or average food you can eat on a regular basis.

The first three were good. DOTM is the best while ROTF was the worst. AOE’s plot was interesting but it makes up in character designs and actually giving a new character a decent personality, Hound was a blessing. TLK sucked. No way around it.

All the live action Transformers movies have this human Transformer relationship problem where it kinda feels forced and we always get a mcguffin chasing end of the world scenario and the we get action every 5 minutes with a little less slowed down emotional scenes for a couple of minutes but they usually don't last then we are back to the non stop action where we get a little less development in the characters. In "Bumblebee", we didn't get a action-packed end of the world mcguffin chasing scenario nor action every 5 minutes unless you are looking at act 3 and the prologue for the action. Sure "Bumblebee" lacked action but it made up for it with a ET and inspired coming of age story focused on the chemistry between Charlie Watson (Hailee Steinfeld) and Bumblebee (voiced by Dylan O'Brien, in the prologue). So we need to look at all the reasons why each live action Transformers movie are basically the same movie. "Bumblebee" is basically what Spielberg envisioned for the 2007 Transformers movie to be like where Bay would have thought it would be too kidish. Michael Bay (producer of "Bumblebee" and "Transformers: Rise of the Beasts") told Travis Knight (director of "Bumblebee") to make "Bumblebee" the way Travis Knight wants to make a Transformers movie. At least no offense to Steven Caple Jr. (Director of "Transformers: Rise of the Beasts") Knight didn't have to direct a Bayformers movie without Michael Bay
Eh, not really. The first is okay at best, Revenge is terrible and Dark was a fun bad movie.
The films pale in retrospect with shows like Beast Wars, Animated or Prime. Even Armada, which, despite being meh compared to other shows, actually bothered to develop the characters beyond the "good guy who's tough".
The trilogy is still better than Age of Excrement or The Last Turd, no denying that. Those 2 are just as dogshit as Energon.

I'm so fuckin' tired of people saying AOE was bad.
DOTM was incredibly boring filled with horrible acting and mushed together characters & villains with lack of screen time while trying to fit in the most possible giving you blue-balls the entire time packed in with weird unsettling & awkward human drama.
While AOE was filled with hype until the end where the climax was more than good with amazing action, Actual cool villains and a right amount of Hollywood corniness. Everyone has lied to themselves so much into believing AOE was bad because of audience manipulation from reviews and people that are big in the communities, TLK was bad, AOE was not even close to bad. Most of the people saying AOE don't have an actual opinion on it they just regurgitate others opinions so they can fit into the community.
Not only that, Since when was ROTF good? Apart from the forest fight scene the rest of it was absolute (Very rarely joyful & fun) trash so why is everyone praising the "trilogy" even though Transformers 2007 carried it?

DOTM is the biggest insult for the most fans of characters like Soundwave and Shockwave also. My boi Soundwave got literally killed by the frickin plot armor character. Not only saying that he's just all silver and in the action I can't even tell where he's. Shockwave... His death is even worse... I don't even need to explain why, we've seen this whole ass thing in the movie.

original trilogy is hands-down the best of the movies. id give AOE a 6/10. TLK was just... they tried to hard. Bumblebee was very different but i loved it! ROTF relies on cringe teen comedy but more than makes up for it with the action and music, and some jokes make me laugh ill admit
DOTM would've been the perfect sendoff, and to me it's the last main film, AOE and TLK to me are just very soft reboots that just so happen to take place after the third film, the third movie is legit the perfect ending and i wish they would've stuck to that regardless of the money it made
