  • Avengers Earths Mightiest Heroes, version of hulk is still one of the most intriguing to me, even though my favorite version is Planet Hulk. There is no doubt that this is the definitive Adaptation of hulk bringing a lot of the niech and nuanced aspects often not adapted for the jolly green giant. Overall this version is great and is firmly my second favorite. Appreciate all the love and support shout out 3000 Subs!

What I love about the EMH Hulk is that he's combination of multiple versions of the character, he's got the goofy personality who speaks in third person and has got an enormous appetite, he's also the brooding misunderstood monster that wants to be left alone, and he's slightly intelligent like the Grey Hulk. It's my favorite version of the Hulk outside of the comics.

You're only saying that because the show was good and came first. Looking back, he's pretty much the debut of the much weaker, albeit more intelligent version of the character. I prefer the raging beast. Which we maybe got a little bit in the first few episodes, then he pretty much became what Hulk is today, a brutish jobber.

@@tronovonflidder775I gotta disagree with you there because the Hulk was crucial in multiple fights considering he was the person who killed Ultron in his first attack, he was the best counter to Gravitron in the Avenger’s debut episode where he literally fights off gravity to get more hits in, he was strong enough to resist Kangs technology, and has done much more. Considering there’s concept art of them doing Planet Hulk you might’ve gotten what you wanted if the show continued but even without it this Hulk is still probably the best written version of the character getting good aspects from multiple incarnations and mixing them together.

@@user-pm6nx1fs2wI think a lot of people don’t realize there’s more than one hulk inside of Bruce banner. They see some of the different versions of hulk as the product of his anger progression but in reality Bruce banner has comic book DID(dissociative identity disorder, formerly known as multiple personality disorder.)
He has multiple alters(the term in DID for the others sharing their mind) which form(Ed) similarly to how they do irl- when the mind is young all the aspects of our personality, ego and super ego aren’t completely merged. If you go through severe trauma it’s possible Those separate aspects don’t merge and they instead form separate awarenesses that tend to form an identity around a function. It can get very complicated but the spark notes is that you have different egos that should have fused into one, but haven’t and all of them run different aspects of the mind. Many won’t even realize they’ve switched if they don’t know they have DID unless they are an alter that suddenly wakes up from dormancy or becomes aware of another alter.
Bruce banner would be the host in this scenario. The first version of hulk is essentially the protector, he’s the one that holds the rage, but since he was formed when Bruce was child and didn’t awake until Bruce was an adult- it lead to him still having that mental state. Technically speaking irl hulk would be what’s called a “little” or a child alter. In comics he’s much more biologically distinct from Bruce so we can say he’s not a direct age translation more of Bruce’s maturity at the time, which was young and was the result of years of abuse and the eventual murder of his mom right in front of him.
There are other alters as well. There’s green scar, Joe fix it, and even a father figure of sorts in devil hulk, and even Kluh and Titan hulk(which would technically be a case of an alter splitting and creating another alter. This happens bc if your mind copes with trauma by creating alters if it experiences trauma again it is conditioned to create alters as a coping mechanism which causes pre existing ones to split)
Sorry for the yap fest I just find this topic cool asf

Imagine in the last battle if Banner was still in the Hulkbuster armor and was fighting Thanos and losing. Thanos rips apart the armor, saying he's still weak and could never have the strength to beat him. Then, as Thanos goes to make one final punch, the Hulkbuster hand catches the fist, and out of it explodes Hulks hand, roaring
"HULK, IS THE STRONGEST THERE IS!"

Hulk is one of the most complex comic book characters and I feel like adaptations tend to scratch the surface of how much of a deeply traumatized and psychologically fractured character both Hulk and Bruce Banner respectfully are. Its a modern day Jekyll and Hyde that reflects the inner anger and and inability to process deep seated emotions channeling inside Banner to eventually become the Hulk and despite how much the too proclaim to hate each other they protect each other. I truly love what this show did with the Hulk and this show has my favourite adaptation of the character. I always love Fred Tatasciore's performances as The Hulk as hes perfect in the role. In this show you get a deeper understanding of how Hulk as a character and how him and Bruce interact with each other, plus how Hulk wants to be seen as a hero but knows that'll always be a true challenge and take time especially when people like Ross and SHIELD see him as a weapon and threat. The Avengers truly saw Hulk for who he was, a hero and trusted teammate and I especially loved when Hulk's name was being tarnished by General Ross/Red Hulk, Captain America and eventually Janet were some of the only people who trusted him and knew he wasn't a bad guy and did whatever they can to clear his name and reveal the true culprit Ross. Hulk became all the more of an interesting character when he joined the Avengers because sometimes he felt like all he was and all he is ever going to be is a monster and force of destruction and the idea of hurting his friends terrifies him since Hulk doesn't know his own strength. Hulks dynamic with characters like Hawkeye, Janet, Captain America, Iron Man, Thor etc were all golden
That's why I really wish the MCU could go back to what made the Hulk such an interesting character to begin with and though I understand why Hulk is smart, I feel like that direction for the character has overstayed it's welcome without truly diving into the psychology of the character and how there is so much more to him that general audiences only get a glimpse of.

I also prefer Bruce's dad in the novelization over the film version, I hate it when they make main characters even a little bit nicer and certain adaptations
It's like how the 2008 Hulk film took heavy influence from the Bruce Jones Hulk books, it's how they came up with that weird clock thing you see Bruce using in the beginning and the Mr Blue Alias Sam uses (Betty used it in the comics) and it's specifically the one page of abomination wrecking the city in those books they got the idea for his Rampage in Harlem in the film.

I even like that he shows how intelligent he is because you get to see what he's capable of.
Even when he's an outcast he's still willing to help and when Janet helped hulk that it felt satisfy to see that someone out there sees him as a person instead of a raging monster.
Especially his pep talk with C.America.

EMH Hulk definitely is among the best versions of the Hulk. The writers of the show understood what the Hulk is: a Misunderstood Hero. Despite his rage, the Hulk has a moral compass, which is amplified by Bruce's desire to help people as well. It's why I couldn't connect with the Hulk in the MCU, let alone Bruce. He was nothing more than a McGuffin in those, even in his own movie.

While I would love for the big guy to get another solo show ( only the first season of his 1996 cartoon demonstrated how layered he and Bruce can be), Hulk working with others did wonders for expanding the audience’s perception of him

This is my favorite adaptation of *The Incredible Hulk* because this beloved cartoon series gave a properly compelling character development and personality.
Here’s my reasons why this show makes him so incredible:
    1. Depth of Emotion: The series delves deep into the Hulk's complex emotions, showcasing the full range from uncontrollable rage to moments of vulnerability and even tenderness. This gives the character tremendous depth and nuance.
    2. Struggle for Control: A major aspect of the Hulk's arc is his constant struggle to control his transformations and his destructive alter-ego. This internal conflict drives much of the drama and allows for meaningful character growth.
    3. Nuanced Relationship with Banner: The dynamic between the Hulk and his alter-ego, Bruce Banner, is richly explored. They are depicted as two distinct personalities with complicated, sometimes antagonistic, but ultimately interdependent relationships.
    4. Heroic Redemption: While the Hulk is often seen as a dangerous threat, the series allows him to become a true hero, using his immense power to protect innocent lives and fight alongside the Avengers. This redemptive arc is compelling to follow.
    5. Evolving Personality: The Hulk's personality is not static - it evolves over the course of the series. He goes from a mindless rage monster to developing a degree of intelligence and self-awareness, which adds further nuance to the character.
    6. Memorable Moments: The series contains many standout Hulk moments, such as his epic battles, his heartbreaking moments of isolation, and his banter and camaraderie with other heroes. These moments leave a lasting impression on the viewer.
Overall, the Hulk in "Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes" is a multifaceted, dynamic character whose struggle for control, heroic journey, and evolving personality make him one of the most interesting and well-developed versions of the character seen in any adaptation. He’s my favorite character in this show and it’s one of the best Marvel animated projects ever made!

The reason Hulk was like how he was in the show is because the creators were specifically going off of how he was in the comics before he went Savage as the foundation, which is smart because they were specifically going off of the original Avengers lineup at 1st.

Intelligent but angry over losing the only life the Hulk ever had to himself and the only time Hulk and Banner loved the same woman and was accepted as both by her. No matter how much Banner or Hulk try to be good it will always be a tragedy because they are just broken.

Favorite Version of Hulk is from the Avengers Assemble series. I used to think that it was a continuation of EMH but after your video I realized that Odin met them in EMH but in AA he acts like he is first meeting them. Even asking Iron man who he is.
Also I like how you touched on probably my favorite Hulk scene in any media, the dialogue between him and captain America, as I think that Highlights the canonical relationship between Hulk and Cap. Steve always being one of the very few beings in the whole universe to actually see Hulk as a Hero and not the Dangerous Destructive monster everyone else sees.
Looking at all media, there are always events where Hulk is doing actual good, but because of the destruction caused in the process he either ends up getting blamed for the whole thing or at the very least his good deed gets overshadowed as non-existent. Few people like Wolverine, Spiderman, Thing and Captain America actually sees when Hulk does good even when no one else sees it.
I'd very much like if you'd make a video Touching on the relationships between him and Characters who provide a well needed and deserve Family dynamic that Hulk was missing his whole life. example, Hawkeye being the bratty little brother, Thor being the Wise and Loving Older brother (who loves competing with each other), Wolverine and Thing being the empathetic understanding Uncles, Spiderman being the Annoying overenthusiastic Nephew (basically how he is with almost every hero), and Cap and Sentry being the Heroes He looks up to with the most respect and admiration.

Which is why I had such a bad taste in my mouth when Hulk got imprisoned for "losing control," and Hawkeye didn't seem to want to help him. It was just Wasp and Captain America, who had only just gotten back from being replaced by a Skrull. I was really annoyed that Hawkeye seemed to just write him off, and we didn't get any sort of fallout from that decision. Maybe it was because it got cancelled for that other Avengers show, but I really feel like we should've gotten a point where Hulk WAS really mad at Hawkeye for leaving him in prison and not believing in him
