@@17Lupus Here are the broad strokes of what I’ve come across: 1. Characters. Aside from a few stand outs, the characters are mostly weak. @@alwaysabiggafish3305Not really. If you look at G1 without nostalgia goggles it’s a pretty flawed production. Animation and continuity errors are all over the place, and none of the characters or story arcs are as well-developed as they would be in later shows. G1 was a bastion of creativity and often had a lot of heart, but it was certainly improved upon.
Honestly one of my favorite things done was making the earths core unicron cause it gave a reason for why out of all the planets in the universe the cybertronians were attracted to earth of all places.
it also provided a great reason as to why energon was there and why the autobots chose the planet as their hideout, unicron is teeming with the stuff, and no sane cybertronian would ever decide to go live on the world eater of all things
While I agree that a lot of storylines weren’t able to reach their proper conclusion (dreadwing, MECH, breakdown, airachnid) I feel like most other criticisms against the show are relatively minor. Honestly the thing that frustrates me most about the show is that it never gets talked about outside of the transformers fandom. Seriously how does a show win 9 Emmys, an Annie, and other numerous accolades and then is just forgotten about. It infuriates me to no end. Despite its flaws, it’s still amazing overall and is definitely up there shows like Star Wars: the clone wars, atla and samurai jack.
MECH was fine for me since it would have fractured when silas was dead unless of course silas ended up killing what remains which cant have been much left after silas was crushed
There’s a few reasons it’s not as talked about. 1: Location. Those other shows you mentioned were on basic cable channels and easily seen by many. Prime was on The Hub, which was less widely available and less well-known. Consequently, less people saw it. 2: Robots. A lot of people have a hang-up about seeing robots as people rather than mere machines. Thus they’re more likely to dismiss Transformers. 3: Merchandising. It’s well known that Transformers as a franchise exists to sell toys. There’s even a page for it on the wiki. That also turns people away, convincing them that “no true art can come from such a *commercial* product”. 4: It peaked too soon. A lot of great sci-fi shows take time to find their footing, but become amazing when they do. This is true of Transformers as well. Prime is an exception. The first season is easily the best, and the other two don’t fulfill its potential. That’s a common occurrence in prestige television these days, and it leads to the shows fading from discussion as they fizzle out while the new hotness comes along. 5: The movie association. This is the least convincing reason, I’ll admit, but I think it is there. Among people who care about art the live-action TF movies are held in disdain. Prime not only looks visually similar to those films, it was also produced by the writers of the first two. Some people will be put off by that.
It is above them. It is my in my top 5 favorite cartoons honestly and after recently rewatching some of the episodes, its still as good as i remember (maybe not the humans designs quality (mainly jack and his mom) but the autobots and decepticons? Top tier 3d models, i dont think any new show will have such beautifull and unic designs as they had for this show.)
What I liked about the show is that every character looks like they have a unique fighting style. Bumblebee looks like a kickboxer, Predaking looks like he just destroys anything in his way and megatron looks like a gladiator and puts strategy into his fighting
14:09 A word that I remember learning from Transformers Prime's wide range of vocabulary was "pontificating", when Starscream was referring to Optimus' "preaching".
Same here! Glad I'm not the only one it's something the show doesn't get nearly enough credit for so it's amazing he talked about it here, I didn't know what the words meant and I couldn't Google it at the time so I always subconsciously relied on context clues to figure out the meaning 😄
Poor Ratchet getting his tools broken broken at the worst possible moment. That gag never ceased to get a chuckle out of me 😂 I seriously can't believe that it's been 14 years since the show began, I just absolutely love it and have watched it religiously ever since
Then they do the bumblebee show that leaves so many plot holes, changes the tone, and totally makes the earth defenseless against decepticon attacks even though ratchet spent 10 hrs preparing them
@@invader3456 even still, literally one of the episodes where the decepticons manage to construct their citadel tower has them talking about how they need to keep their anti-air defenses active to prevent the humans from blowing it up, for how squishy and small the humans are the decepticons did not underestimate their firepower.
17:41 the way Prime wheeljack manages to jerry rig explosives is an interesting way to characterize him as a Wrecker while also maintaining his intelligence, he just uses it in less mad scientisty ways
Bulkhead and the Shredder from TMNT 2012 sharing the same voice actor is something that I've never thought about, but now that You pointed it out, it feels like something clicked inside my brain and now I'm weirdly hyped about it for some reason I can't explain lol.
Those are both great performances, but for my money Kevin Michael Richardson’s best performance was Jolee Bindo in Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic.
I really dig how slick Soundwave have become. And then I giggled upon seeing his thick version in the flashbacks. As you proposed an idea for a prequel I instantly thought: "Yes, that would be nice. I NEED TO SEE MOVING WIDEWAVE!"
@@leshiy_ndbro this theory is really dark and sad, but also really cool. Im honestly not that cultured with the entire lore of transformers and origin stories, not really familiar with the old cartoons, novels and the comics cuz i got born after 2000 and this stuff didnt appear in my country. I heard he had more minicons like Laservick but I dont know how and why he had so many and also how they died. I am writing this cuz id like to know more about Soundwave's past and id apreciate if u could tell me such informations
@@mayor_theo I honestly don't know, it's just his thing. Just like since very beginning he was special by being the only transformer with robotic voice. Maybe there's an explanation in one of books or comics, but I haven't ever checked those.
Robots in Disguise should’ve been Smokescreen’s spotlight show following up on the Matrix scene, I would’ve loved to see him follow up on Optimus’s final speech and become a leader without the Matrix. Bee getting his voice back and becoming the leader was a mistake
My favorite characters are Dreadwing, Predaking and Knockout. Dreadwing because he had the potential to become an Autobot and even Optimus saw that in him. Predaking because he was just a force to be reckoned, he had the strength to defeat Optimus, the only other character to do that was Megatron. Knockout because of his design and funny one liners.
My favorites were Ratchet (guy's always dripping with sass and sarcasm), Smokescreen (one of the only reasons I like season 2), starscream (was literally never a boring scene with him in it) Breakdown (thought he had the most potential to change sides), Dreadwing (always loved the classic noble warrior trope), and Predaking (Loved him in predacon's rising.) I also really liked TFP's version of Optimus. I know some people don't like him, but I found the take on the character more realistic and battle-hardened. He was a bit cold and tough, but still kind and strong enough to be gentle and warm. Gotta say, though, season 3 was a little disappointing. But, it gave me a sequence of Ultra Magnus kicking some serious predacon tail pipe, so It won me over.
I admite that when i think of Dreadwing i really like his character. He is fighting for a good cause, for the enslaved decepticons with no names, but the people in power in this movement got corrupted. When i was a kid i didnt like for not wanting to become an autobot and fight with Optimus, but now i admire his passion for sticking with the decepticon name since he still belive in that cause that is no longer represented by the people in charge. My favorite characters are Ratchet for his personality and for being the suport character of the team, and also Soundwave for his quite but badass character but also loyalty for Megatron. I always loved those type of characters that no matter the cause, good or evil, they stay along side their boss/leader. I can only respect the loyalty, for both Ratchet and Soundwave.
Transformers Prime was definitely one of THE shows I’ve watched as a kid. Even more then watching G1 episodes on Netflix or Rescue Bots or even one of the movies. Prime took the best parts from both G1 and the Bayverse, and combined them into what I think, was the best of both worlds. It had badass fight scenes, gritty atmosphere, and a serious & compelling story that the Bayverse had, while also giving the Autobots unique personalities & characteristics that stands out from each other, as well as giving each of the major characters go through arcs that evolves their development that G1 had. It’s really baffling how Transformers Prime’s now getting a ton of fan backlash, while the Bayverse are actually getting more praise. It’s a messed up world we’re living in. Now granted, I do think the show has its problems, such as how some of the characters get killed off unnecessarily because of celebrities being unavailable, or how Bumblebee doesn’t talk until the very end of the show, however, the same could be said to all of the Transformers shows. I mean look at G1, sure it started this whole franchise but it’s still a bit campy & over the top. Even Beast Wars, and Transformers Animated had its issues (Like all the CGI in BW looks very ugly & nightmarish, or how some of the characters like Elita-1 & BlackArachinia are somehow one in the same in TFA, when they shouldn’t have been the same character.), so I really don’t think we should only criticize TFP when we should criticize all the Transformers shows, even if we think they’re good. For a long time, I considered Transformers Prime to be one of the last great Transforrmers cartoons, as everything after RID15 became more G1 based, or at least inspired by G1. The War For Cybertron was one of the worst things I’ve ever seen, and Cyberverse didn’t make me feel interested into the show because of how bland it is. Sure, I love the Bumblebee movie but that was an exception in my part. But, after a few episodes/several clips of Earthspark, as well as seeing Rise of the Beasts, I’d say Transformers is back to its glory… and now that it’s been 14 years since Transformers Prime first aired, I can’t help but applaud the show despite its flaws. I think TFP’s a flawed series, but I still rank it up there with some of the best Transformers has ever come up.
I enjoyed this show a lot as a child, Prime’s soft spoken voice and attitude fits..it gives him character instead of “RIP AND TEAR” and being aggressively impulsive in his behavior.. And I appreciated the part during the space bridge fight where they added his menacing line “I might derail its objective…by removing its head”… Loved that they kept that touch from the movies lol.. As for how the rest of it played out, I feel indifferent..I definitely felt it hanging super low by the time the beast hunters crap came..so I have no opinion to the ending but it makes sense.. Also I am SO HAPPY you mentioned the broad vocabulary ! That’s like the biggest highlight that I loved about the show along with not having shame to be semi-dark/gore-like..
Man, I wish I grew up with this show. I wish I grew up with transformers. But sadly…I didn’t. I just recently got into transformers a couple of months ago, and transformers prime is the first one I watched. And I…Love this show, it is so freaking good, really…ahead of its time in my opinion. The animation, the character designs, the music, the world building, it’s all…So freaking good! And as for my favorite character…Optimus Prime, easily…hands down my favorite. Heck I’m gonna make a video about him and why he’s my favorite…also why I find him to be…Strangely relatable. Anyway, great video…and an absolutely wonderful show
The constant scavenger hunts also prevented a massive battle every single episode. If Arcee and Bumblebee are getting wrecked by Knockout and Breakdown, where's Optimus? Oh, he's in Venezuela getting pinned down by Starscream and Soundwave
Transformers Prime is my definitive Transformers incarnation that I will watch till I die. And as a person of age 24, I'm still terrified of Frank Welker's Megatron to this day. It only shows how powerful voice actor can be if they can voice cruel dictator and talking mystery-solving dog and you would have no idea they are the same voice actor. Also RID 2015 is non canon in my eyes.
13:31 anytime I’m looking for something, think I see it but it isn’t I just instantly go “no, that is a rock” and it kills me every time I say it to myself
I can never forget the impact this show had on. It taught me a lot about how people behave and interact, showed a good sense of humour and had really good characters and action. Really inspirational show for me
Sometimes I forget that my perspective on this show is entirely different then most because of how little knowledge I have on any other form of transformers media so it’s a little reassuring to hear that prime still holds up.
i grew up with this show (i was like 7-9 when i was in this phase) and i must say, i've been rewatching it recently. it absolutely holds up. i'm only on the one with the harvester (i believe knockout and breakdown's debut???) and i must say, i was really surprised when i noticed that Silas (from mech) sounds almost exactly like Long Feng from Avatar, or Mr. Krabs. my one critique on a technical level is that jack looks like my xbox 360 profile character (yes i'm that old). but overall, it looks really cool, and it has some really good moments (i skipped the scraplets episode tho bc that one kinda gave me ptsd). i think this was my introduction to darker themes. i don't i'd seen something where the show's main villain was once bffs with the protagonist, and i'm really interested to see how they incorporate those themes of caste and megatron's corruption arc in the new Transformers One
Not mentioning soundwave was tragic, one of the best characters, beautiful design and his death scene was one of the coolest in the show. Sorry not trying to hate, loved the vid bro
I would have liked to see more Predacons in season 3. If you just moved Sky Lynx and Darksteel to the show rather than the movie, you can still have their fight and make it work. Like say because Predaking lost his battle with Unicron, the other two question his leadership and role seeing as he lost. He could then fight them both and still have the same result. Now what the two of them could add to the series is just Predaking actually having forces behind him and also add to the fear of them raised by Starscream.
Great video! Ive seen this show many times and I actually never noticed Megatron's Fusion Cannon gone from his arm when he injects Cliffjumper with the shard. You made really good takes, and a couple i disagree with. Overall, very solid!
I love prime, it was like the 2nd exposure i had to transformers. After either they bayverse movies of another show i forgot the name of. It was great i was around 7 or 8 years old during the original run
honestly, the only negatives I can think of are the unfinished plotlines. season 3 getting rushed was noticeable but not really enough to bother me. Prime is easily the best TF show.
My favorite part of Tf Prime was its version of Soundwave Even if it doesn't look anything like the original, I always thought it was cool and menacing Like in the episode where he actually goes to the field and even when he gets captured he remained as strong as steel
I’ve been really liking your videos, thanks for all the effort you put into them! Also, I’d love to see a Cybertronian biology video, it’s one of my special interests sooo
I watched the series a few months back for the first time. Yeah, it ain't perfect, but i just had so much fun with it. The action scenes still blow me away
Transformers prime was the first transformers cartoon of my childhood. Now when I am grown up I just wonder how such type of incredible TV show was made possible in 2010. It is an emotion for me. After realizing that this series had ended I felt so bad. Like why?? This type of TV show is just no match to any other shows right now and don't know if it ever will be. My only wish is that some one just revives transformers prime in this way of language, art and graphics.
16:34 that arm actually belongs to leige maximo Also i really think that the wheeljack in this show is more like wheeljack as this is the first ever Transformers content i saw so the wheeljack here is most most fitting according to me rather than an inventor
@@FakeJake5843I think it's because the va being the rock was too expensive, a lot of the prime voice actors were expensive and they wanted to avoid replacing actors mid season so charecters like Breakdown and Airachnid were either killed off or written out of the show
I remember growing up with prime but not beast hunters because some complications happen. But I missed this show once I got older until at some point it was on Netflix years back and I finally got to finish the show. It was worth binging and I remember making some paper swords because of the Star saber and dark saber swords then my mom caught me up in the middle of the night.
Thanks for defending the action, I watched a youtuber (who will remain anonymous) complaining that the fight scenes were the same throughout the whole show yet he defended Beast Wars where the show BARELY has any non ranged fight scenes (like no joke, I can count on one hand the amount of CQC fights that lasted close to or over a minute in beast wars (Primal vs Dinobot, Dragon Megs vs Optimal Optimus, TM2 Cheetor vs TM2 Dinobot, Depth Charge vs Ramapge (still hate how they died) and that's all I can recall for CQC fights)). Like pretty much every fight in BW was "both sides shoot at one another till one side dips". I also remember him mention the plot was boring when BW also felt boring (seriously did season one even HAVE a plot other than "Maximals screw up Predacon plan number XXX). also G1 Transformers never had a plot to my knowledge (I don't care it was a 80's show, BW had a friggin plot in season 3 and so G1 has NO excuse) yet he still defends that thing likes its the second coming of christ. Not to mention he also called the characters boring and lifeless ESPECIALLY Optimus which is straight up false saying how "Prime should be funny not serious" when that defeats the whole purpose of the friggin show. How out of place would it be if the show remained the same only G1 optimus was in it and he kept makin jokes every episode. 12:00 I'll never be able to unsee Bulkhead with shredder claws and now I want a toy of that
I think I know who you're talking about, and have different gripes with his video despite agreeing with him mostly on other points. Mainly the idea that 'only one allowed to defeat you' instantly destroys a character's respect (I sympathize with this due to the number of fanfiction roleplays I've been in where fights that were supposed to be personal were interrupted) and Soundwave being boring instead of creepy. The Soundwave bit is just a lie. He DOES emote, quite frequently honestly, and I honest-to-God doubt that anyone who sees TFP Soundwave doesn't know he was clearly inspired to some degree by Slenderman, unless they just don't know who Slenderman is. I also hate the idea that characters who don't speak or have obvious faces for the sake of being mysteries are boring. Is Pernida Parnkgjas boring?
Think there was a poll somewhere for when Prime was supposed to pass the Matrix, who was gonna get it. Optimus name was in the poll and obviously won but I think Arcee was nominated second highest on the vote. There was a name even made for her 'Prime' form but for the life of me I can't remember it.
I believe you’re thinking of the Power of the Primes poll. Arcee was on it, as well as Ultra Magnus, Hound, Megatron, Shockwave, and Deathsaurus. But it was Optimus Primal that won. Funny enough, that poll and eventually that web series is the reason Ron Pearlman voiced Primal in Rise of the Beasts.
My favorite characters are Optimus Prime because I have never seen a Autobot leader like in this movie. Clever, peacful and he believe "every sentinel beings posation has change" especially Megatron. Optimus never tries to kill Megatron unless it's about Rafael. Optimus was a family man and had a personality that appeared to be knowledgeable. Optimus was an archivist in this movie, not a warrior but he is very strong. Optimus Prime has a power that can easily be among the top 2 strongest characters in the series but an innocent Orion Pax is hidden within it. I think the main characters of this series are Optimus and Megatron. I am 20 and still rewatching it. İts perfect movie.
4:32 WAIT UP. I recognize some of these from the game, they've added concept art and even a video of how making an episode is. I played this game a lot and it got me interested in the series. I didn't have any toy (though i wanted a Bumblebee toy as this is my favorite design for him), but i did have the game and watched it all i could. Recently the RUclips algorithm has sent me on a wave of Transformers Prime videos and i never thought this series was considered that great
Fun fact it was originally supposed to be hot rod but they couldn't get the rights to his name in time, they were going to originally bring rodomus prime
before RID2015 was released I actually thought he would be the new leader, but nope, somehow it doesn't look like he ended up being that... now that I think about it, u never hear anything from Magnus or some others anymore
Personally this is probably the best show ever made period i know its an controversial opinion but i dont care this show was the definitive Transformers show every character in this show is likeable my favourite characters being Megatron,Shockwave,Soundwave and wheeljack there are also many concepts in this show like dark energon being unicrons blood, earths core being unicron and the word "Prime" being a title of some sorts are ideas that are genius in my eyes this show deserves to be talked more about i think this show is way better then shows or even movies coming out these years and i dont think i have to mention that the music and animation is this show being PERFECT this may be the best animated show ever i dont think the animation of this show is getting talked about nearly as much as it has to be and every fightstyle and Voices of the characters and even sound design makes this show the perfect show i had seen and yes this show definetly has its problems but i dont care i just love this show its probably the best show ever made even with its flaws
I don’t remember my very first episode but ik one of the very first I saw was the first one with arachnid, which I actually didn’t like too too much after a while cuz it felt like I saw it once every week (watching the show was apart of my nightly routine for a good while)
Here are some ideas autobots that were cut like iron-hide and sea-spray, season three with 26 episodes originally, season four plans, instead of robot in disguise the original sequel would have tied up loose ends in prime.
What always irked me about this show were 2 big things. 1st: The 3rd season was filled with missed opportunities and insanely rushed because Hasbro was pulling the plug for reasons? Idk maybe the animation got too expensive lol. 2nd: Every good thing that happened for the Autobots was almost immediately undone within the same episode or the very next episode, it was awful in season 2. Bumblebee's T-Cog stolen, they get the Forge, Megatron immediately shows up and shoots Bulkhead in the back. (How did he instantly know when to jump in? Was lazerbeak watching?). Smokescreen knocks Starscream out of his armor, Starscream immediately shoots the large chunk of red energon below OP, Bumblebee and Arcee. (You have THREE Autobots there! HOW can you not just hold one down and grab it!?). Optimus obtains the Star Saber, immediately destroyed the very next episode. Autobots open the Omega Lock, cons show up with captured humans. (The single biggest mission of the entire war and you allow the cons to capture your weakest allies? Gross tactical error).
Last time i watched the full series on Netflix I noticed the stakes constantly being big to the point that it felt like the writers never knew at first if our bots would make it, there are definitely a couple of times optimus Comes close to dying before the end I wonder if that was just for marketing or if they never knew if the show would go on, in the case of smokescreen I think originally Optimus Was goes to dye and he would take the matrix of leadership But because most fans Hated smokescreen , they decide to use this moment for character growth. Just thoughts.
I loved that show and fun fact, I give predaking when he is in his beast mode, fang as a non-canon name since Everytime I hear his name, I think when he is in robot mode, I also used to have a DVD of the episode that comes with transformers prime wheeljack but I lost that DVD,
I agree with the fact that other characters could’ve filled certain roles better. I don’t like when the personality of one character is placed onto another, or when an unrelated character is just given a pre-existing name. I’d like the core of a character to be maintained.
I wss never a bkg fan of unicron being the big bad, and what i love about this series is that megatron is front and center for most part as the big threeat. I personally always felt megatron was more dangerous
This was an Incredible Masterpiece for Transformers Prime (2010 - 2013) Television Series My All Time Favorite Transformers Cartoon Series. Transformers G1, Transformers Prime and Transformers Film Series were Definitely My Childhood.
This is My all-time favourite transformer series. Even above G1. I have some issues with it and some personal want like instead of Having bulkhead and smoke screen, I personally would have had Ironhide and hot Rod.
Why do I think prime was Great it’s why the og transformers was 1 world building that’s interesting 2 characters are introduced and have plot points 3 the humans are easy inserts for the audience to empathize 4 serious characters have weight wile balancing comedy
I feel like the only thing that annoys me about this show and other transformers media that feature Unicron is how they brush over the fact that humans are technically his "kids" if you think about it. Transformers prime kind of explored this. Where Optimus tries to convince Unicron that his Resurrection would destroy all human kind. And even points out that humans evolved from him. Of course Unicron called humans parasites. But I think its potential story telling and gives an excuse for why cybertronians are attracted to earth of all places. Like, if humans came from Unicron it could technically give an excuse as to why Decepticons might hate humans. And Primes' sequel show could have explored this to actually. But the writers really choose to not explore that at all. But those are my thoughts. Overall, i do love prime and I like this video you made. Really is nostalgic seeing everyone share the same love I have for this show.
18:19 I literally said hotrod at the Same time 🤣😂😭also I now remember why I hated smokescreen, it's because he reminded me of hotrod whom I also disliked majorly
I think primes greatest strength was its characterization, their characters were well written And my fav characters are always Megatron, sound wave and arachnid

tbf he wasnt really galvatron since normally galvatron has control(for the most part) but in the predacons rising film hes a corspe bing moved about by unicron
What if Transformers Prime comics would be absolutely amazing. They could pick up the dropped plotpoints or just do other things. Some good ones are Smokescreen accepted the Matrix Dreadwing joined the autobots Bulkhead dies in toxic Megatron chose Dreadwing over Starscream Cliffjumper doesn't die Another autobot dies instead of Cliffjumper Smokescreen never arrived on Earth

Honestly one of my favorite things done was making the earths core unicron cause it gave a reason for why out of all the planets in the universe the cybertronians were attracted to earth of all places.
And it is also a great theory in fiction how earth came into existence.. just rocket and space debris collecting around Unicron his body!

it also provided a great reason as to why energon was there and why the autobots chose the planet as their hideout, unicron is teeming with the stuff, and no sane cybertronian would ever decide to go live on the world eater of all things
We also had already been given that Primus is Cybertron and that's why energy is so abundant and how the planet gives life to the transformers.
Agreed. Just a shame the show was so expensive that it was cut short as we could have gotten those plot lines resolved
I’m guessing it’s due to the influence the Bayverse had on many people.
The reason why sentinel prime’s arm is switched to Maximo prime’s arm is linked to how Sentinel isn’t technically a prime.
I'm guessing you mean Leige Maximo
@@Lili-o7-o4eyes he is
14:09 A word that I remember learning from Transformers Prime's wide range of vocabulary was "pontificating", when Starscream was referring to Optimus' "preaching".
“Nadir” was another, when Optimus was talking about the last days of the war (can’t remember the episode).
For real, i have started to use this word now
14:10,bro me too, this show taught me more words than 12yrs schools
Same here! Glad I'm not the only one it's something the show doesn't get nearly enough credit for so it's amazing he talked about it here, I didn't know what the words meant and I couldn't Google it at the time so I always subconsciously relied on context clues to figure out the meaning 😄
Same bro, I'm a non-english speaker. So the fact that my English is even half good is due to shows like these
Poor Ratchet getting his tools broken broken at the worst possible moment. That gag never ceased to get a chuckle out of me 😂
I seriously can't believe that it's been 14 years since the show began, I just absolutely love it and have watched it religiously ever since
This show was good. Peter Cullen and frank welker really upped their performance.
Also like how the show’s aesthetics are similar to the movies. Must be an homage or promotion of the movies at the time.
@@ryzen3010It was likely because the show was produced by Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman, the writers for the first two movies.
Then they do the bumblebee show that leaves so many plot holes, changes the tone, and totally makes the earth defenseless against decepticon attacks even though ratchet spent 10 hrs preparing them
I mean, 10hrs aint a lot
Kevin Michael Richardson is just a GOAT
Those are both great performances, but for my money Kevin Michael Richardson’s best performance was Jolee Bindo in Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic.
@magnusprime962 Oh my god. I never realized. That's awesome
I really dig how slick Soundwave have become. And then I giggled upon seeing his thick version in the flashbacks. As you proposed an idea for a prequel I instantly thought: "Yes, that would be nice. I NEED TO SEE MOVING WIDEWAVE!"
Now the one thing I wonder, is how did he become anorexic? I mean, he does have a lot of cool stuff in his slenderman-looking body, but why?
@@Alex_Fishman I have a theory that it were all his others minicons :(
@@leshiy_ndbro this theory is really dark and sad, but also really cool.

Skip beast hunters, you don’t need to watch it
@akuto5an271 that has nothing to do with what i said???
Robots in Disguise should’ve been Smokescreen’s spotlight show following up on the Matrix scene, I would’ve loved to see him follow up on Optimus’s final speech and become a leader without the Matrix. Bee getting his voice back and becoming the leader was a mistake
No it wasn’t
I disagree that it was a mistake but holy shit that would have been a great idea for Smokescreen!
My favorites were Ratchet (guy's always dripping with sass and sarcasm), Smokescreen (one of the only reasons I like season 2), starscream (was literally never a boring scene with him in it) Breakdown (thought he had the most potential to change sides), Dreadwing (always loved the classic noble warrior trope), and Predaking (Loved him in predacon's rising.)
I also really liked TFP's version of Optimus.
And I appreciated the part during the space bridge fight where they added his menacing line “I might derail its objective…by removing its head”…
Loved that they kept that touch from the movies lol..
Anyway, great video…and an absolutely wonderful show
Give animated and armada a try. They're a bit... different, but incredible in their own ways.
Damn I actually grew up with Prime, it was peak, literally. My favourite was Airachnid... for obvious reasons😂
Watching tfp as the first is a good choice i grew up with rid 2015 :(
The constant scavenger hunts also prevented a massive battle every single episode.
Bro U and I are the same! LOL thanks so much.
This!
13:31 anytime I’m looking for something, think I see it but it isn’t I just instantly go “no, that is a rock” and it kills me every time I say it to myself
Steve blum’s starscream’s voice is burned into my mind whenever i read a sneaky asshole in a book i just hear starscream lol
I've always loved how TF's uses grown up words. I learned 'nadir' from Prime.
I, too, was an autistic pre-teen with copious amounts of plastic robots when this show released. Good to know I'm far from the only one.
00:11 as a fellow RUclipsr THIS IS SO RELATABLE XD
As a school student same😂😂😂😂😂 but in school work.
Just replace the editing the vid with school work
And the copyright thing with making sure the work is on the right paper or book.
Thanks for pointing out the vocabulary of the show. I learned zenith because of this show and its one of my favorite words now.
i grew up with this show (i was like 7-9 when i was in this phase) and i must say, i've been rewatching it recently. it absolutely holds up. i'm only on the one with the harvester (i believe knockout and breakdown's debut???) and i must say, i was really surprised when i noticed that Silas (from mech) sounds almost exactly like Long Feng from Avatar, or Mr. Krabs. my one critique on a technical level is that jack looks like my xbox 360 profile character (yes i'm that old). but overall, it looks really cool, and it has some really good moments (i skipped the scraplets episode tho bc that one kinda gave me ptsd). i think this was my introduction to darker themes. i don't i'd seen something where the show's main villain was once bffs with the protagonist, and i'm really interested to see how they incorporate those themes of caste and megatron's corruption arc in the new Transformers One
Not mentioning soundwave was tragic, one of the best characters, beautiful design and his death scene was one of the coolest in the show. Sorry not trying to hate, loved the vid bro
Soundwave didn’t die, he was banished to the Shadowzone.
"HotRod" was not used because of some copyright issues over the name in a lot of countries at that time.
Tbf wheeljack was a mechanic in prime fixing the jsckhammer and he told miko he wasnt always a wrecker
Its a small thing
My first episode was Crisscross. Really nice way to start the series. I originally thought MECH was a government agency until Fowler showed up.
Yes, it has special place in our hearts. It will always have an impact on us
@@prateekmishra8923 the best
My favorite part of Tf Prime was its version of Soundwave
Even if it doesn't look anything like the original, I always thought it was cool and menacing
Like in the episode where he actually goes to the field and even when he gets captured he remained as strong as steel
16:34 that arm actually belongs to leige maximo
Also i really think that the wheeljack in this show is more like wheeljack as this is the first ever Transformers content i saw so the wheeljack here is most most fitting according to me rather than an inventor
I think the rock voicing him was the worst thing to happen to cliffjumper.
How?
@@FakeJake5843I think it's because the va being the rock was too expensive, a lot of the prime voice actors were expensive and they wanted to avoid replacing actors mid season so charecters like Breakdown and Airachnid were either killed off or written out of the show
They could have gotten cheaper replacements. They bloody wasted Breakdown because they were too bloody tight fisted!
I grew up watching this and reruns of G1 on the Hub so those will always be my favorite and nostalgic Transformers shows.
Great video! Well done. Really informative, thanks!
Love this show!
I am 18 and still rewatching it. Its just sooo good
Kevin was ALSO one of the Primes who appeared to Sam Witwicky in Revenge of the Fallen.
7:55 tfp wheeljacks envious lol
1:14 We are cool! This show is awesome! - Luke
Recently the RUclips algorithm has sent me on a wave of Transformers Prime videos and i never thought this series was considered that great
I, for one, would love a video about cybertronian biology in this universe! It was one of my favorite aspects of this show.
I like both TFP & its sequel, RID 2015.
Anyway, nice video. I liked it.
Best animated series ever imo!
Prime is still my fav ever
19:05 i always imagined that optimus would just be reborn just as the original optimus prime became orion pax
Transformers prime is the best of the transformer shows and I’ve seen them all
The game for Transformers Prime is amazing
Fun fact it was originally supposed to be hot rod but they couldn't get the rights to his name in time, they were going to originally bring rodomus prime
Crazy that my first TFP episode was also S1E7 - the scrap one
I wish TFP had an actual sequel where ultra magnus learns to be a prime/leader of the autobots instead of Optimus returning for the 7337th time
before RID2015 was released I actually thought he would be the new leader, but nope, somehow it doesn't look like he ended up being that... now that I think about it, u never hear anything from Magnus or some others anymore
@@ElleVervain I need the ultra magnus matrix of leadership arc
Honestly one of my favorite TF series
Just saw Tranformers One. Prime is certainly immortal in the legacy it left and impact it had on future tranformers media.
I remember watching it when it came out but also I just rewatched it and it was as good as I remember. It’s so damn good
This show is still a masterpiece
I don’t remember my very first episode but ik one of the very first I saw was the first one with arachnid, which I actually didn’t like too too much after a while cuz it felt like I saw it once every week (watching the show was apart of my nightly routine for a good while)
Orochimaru Starscream is just amazing
It’s funny because my first episode was also scrapheap! I remember thinking “oh… I guess the decepticons aren’t in this show???” 😂😂
TFP is almost the sole reason as to why a 10 year old me at the time had a college reading level haha.
Out of all the TF shows this was my favourite.
4:40 also some of the lip syncing (ESPECIALLY on screamy here) was rough
Last time i watched the full series on Netflix I noticed the stakes constantly being big to the point that it felt like the writers never knew at first if our bots would make it, there are definitely a couple of times optimus Comes close to dying before the end I wonder if that was just for marketing or if they never knew if the show would go on, in the case of smokescreen I think originally Optimus Was goes to dye and he would take the matrix of leadership But because most fans Hated smokescreen , they decide to use this moment for character growth. Just thoughts.
11:22 how are you gonna mention the LEGEND of Nolan North but not mention some of his most ICONIC rolls outside of TF and TMNT twin😭😭😭
Love this show
I had a serious déjà vu of your video, felt like sharing that
I wss never a bkg fan of unicron being the big bad, and what i love about this series is that megatron is front and center for most part as the big threeat. I personally always felt megatron was more dangerous
This was an Incredible Masterpiece for Transformers Prime (2010 - 2013) Television Series My All Time Favorite Transformers Cartoon Series. Transformers G1, Transformers Prime and Transformers Film Series were Definitely My Childhood.
this era of cartoons was peak
This is My all-time favourite transformer series. Even above G1. I have some issues with it and some personal want like instead of Having bulkhead and smoke screen, I personally would have had Ironhide and hot Rod.
2:12 Same for me, that was my first episode lol - Luke
Why do I think prime was Great it’s why the og transformers was
1 world building that’s interesting
2 characters are introduced and have plot points
3 the humans are easy inserts for the audience to empathize
4 serious characters have weight wile balancing comedy
I think primes greatest strength was its characterization, their characters were well written
And my fav characters are always
Megatron, sound wave and arachnid
I loved the art style and character design s of this show. The mouths were a bit awkward but everything else was flawless in my eyes
This shit was gold. Everything following has been downhill ever since.
I'd kill for a Transformers Prime revival :D no, not really, but I seriusly long for seeing Knock Out again :'D
It's hard to believe this movie now 11 years old hack! Thirst not only premiered on my last day as 7th grader but my friend's birthday. Lost contact with him during high school and i only saw prime week after my birthday on Saturday mornings in cw vortexx until i got the show on DVD first two seasons and darkness rising and predacons rising and beast hunters
One of my biggest issues with the show, while mostly a nitpick, is that Megatron wasn't renamed Galvatron in the Predacons Rising film.
tbf he wasnt really galvatron since normally galvatron has control(for the most part) but in the predacons rising film hes a corspe bing moved about by unicron
What if Transformers Prime comics would be absolutely amazing. They could pick up the dropped plotpoints or just do other things. Some good ones are
Smokescreen accepted the Matrix
Dreadwing joined the autobots
Bulkhead dies in toxic
Megatron chose Dreadwing over Starscream
Cliffjumper doesn't die
Another autobot dies instead of Cliffjumper
Smokescreen never arrived on Earth
I love this series so much
.
My favorite character is Megatron
