    It is better to use the bell of the stethoscope for low-pitched sounds in this case. For the longest, I couldn't hear anything when using the diaphragm. But when I used the bell I could hear it. I also practiced on myself for like 6x and then finally the sound clicked and I knew what to listen for :)
