Watched this again. It hits home well for several reasons. Just because I'm glad to be away from my ex, I have been in a place several times where this would have been gold for me.
I would just add, for any guy right in the middle of the scenario Anna went through here is that; Know that you can do all of this right, and she still may be gone from you. But you are now a better 'you' and trending up. The success of this is process is not judged by if she comes back. It's judged by if you've moved yourself up a notch or 2 and don't repeat the former errors. You've improved your standing, your conscious is clear, keep moving forward, "wiser".

Problem is: the better me is not so popular as the old one. When I was sloppy, chubby, ugly, loose then I was more popular among women than now, when I am clean, well dressed, fit, sober. I and my ex do not want this guy.

I have question. this part is my fault. I've done NO CONTACT a couple of times. I've never had an ex come back and I Accomplished a lot during those NO CONTACT periods. I know what I accomplished during those times was difficult and substantial but it never made a difference to these few women. Sometimes Women and Life, in general, can be really CRUEL. LUCK is so important!

Stuffy makes a cameo ! -- The ultimate "no contact" is becoming widowed. You can't screw it up even if you want to. You MUST move on, or die. Given time, amazing things do await. After 30 years ( give or take a few months ) someone walked back into my life purely by accident ( check-out line at a discount store ) and it's going very well. If it were possible to reconnect with my Late, I doubt this would have happened. Yes, it's becoming an "Old People Romance" story, and we're both enjoying it immensely.

This is my personal experience. I was devastated and had to go with No Contact but the attachment was too strong and first 3 months were ridiculously challenging.
Still controlled. Started building new hobbies, travelling, learning about spirituality, made new friends, and after one point I just forgot her and became indifferent. After one year, she messaged me asking me to rekindle but I couldn't see anymore what better value she has than the life and people that I've built so far. Kindly said, I don't think it will work. If it was supposed to, things will never fall down in the first place.

I think some of this no-contact rule worked much better pre-Dating apps, at this point, there are so many men available at the click of a finger (literally 100:1 in most apps) that you cannot recover from 30 days of "how many guys did she run through" issues. Very unlikely it's going to recover from that sort of thing.

I think the reason many people decide to do no contact is when talking to their partner and trying to work it out isn’t working. If you’re attempt to connect and fix the problem aren’t working you really don’t have a choice.
I bet most of the people here would rather be with their person than argue or fight or feel like their losing their love forever or whatever their specific situation is. I don’t know how generation matters her. No matter the age we’re all vulnerable to seahorses of the heart.
Change can be a very difficult thing to accomplish in another person and even yourself. Before doing the good things you recommend, it would be wise to sit down and evaluate what things she didn't like about you and what you didn't like about her that strained or damaged your relationship. If those things are something you're not willing to change or you know she won't change, it would be better to move on. Both men and women reach a point in their lives when they're just not going to change, and they may not have the power to change. Are you willing to accept that your partner has changed and isn't going back or you've changed, and you're not going back? If you can't accept the change in your partner and/or aren't willing to change yourself, then move on to a new relationship where those things aren't problems for a new partner or remain single.

I saw my ex-wife for the 1st time about 26 years later when my daughter married. My ex looked like an old frumpy witch. I was wearing a custom tailored suite and my date looked like a model. As wonderful as this advice is and as a person who just went through hell to get access to my children etc, just forget she ever existed and start living your life.
I used to have to do so much for my unappreciative ex wife and now I have everything on a plate.
It took time to get my life back in order but I got a new house, new car, new job, reconnected with friends and family, started doing things I was interested in and the ex began getting really friendly all of a sudden.
Unfortunately for her, my standards have changed and I've leveled everything up to the point where I'm so dissapinted in myself that I even entertained her in the first place.

I made all the mistakes you talked about, the incessant text messages, before we finally broke up, but since we actually broke up I’ve certainly ceased all contact. Don’t know whether it will actually achieve anything, but I’m finding out that although I miss her incredibly, it’s good for my own sanity.

That was the last relationship for me, and i completely lost interest in relationships after that. A country music artist I loved with a wicked sense of humor used to joke in his shows that instead of getting divorced he was going to find a woman could not stand him and buy her a house. He joked that on an anniversary he asked his lady what she would like as a gift and she answered, "a divorce." I wish everyone rekindling well but as I look back I am grateful for those who are out of my life. They wanted to move on and I reflect that I was rejected for various reasons (1) I did not go out enough (2) I was too fat (3) she said she had to give me a social life (4) one wanted her life back meaning being around me was stopping her from living the life she wanted and so on. I've gotten exes back with and without no contact. In some cultures, it's expected to chase because she tests how much you love her. If you ghost her with no contact, she thinks you don't care about her enough. depends on the girl and culture.

First thing to assess is the reason behind the split, maybe some things can be worked on, but other items cannot. Infidelity is one that cannot be fixed, and it best to move on and break contact unless there are kids involved.

I didn't really know about "no contact" but did it by accident as I wasn't particularly into the girl who dropped me.
Sure enough she started to contact me again after a few months, at first grudgingly but then increasingly warmly and submissively.
Unfortunately, this is when it started to bother me that she had dropped me in the first place, I found myself getting resentful at the way she just thought she could drop me and pick me up again.
Eventually I realised I had fallen for her but by that point I had started to act a bit unstable and emotional and drove her away again 😞

This is in opposition to the rule, "If a woman breaks up with you, never take her back." There's also a rule, "It doesn't matter how she feels after she's no longer your problem."

I'm watching these videos because I was in sort of a similar situation a couple weeks ago.
I had stopped contact with my ex for half a year. We met again at college, we had been talking as old friends for a while, so I invite her out.
But when we went on that date, I think I fell in the last key point you said 11:37 . Having her in front of me, plus doing some mistakes in the date planning made me insecure, and I started acting desperate. I tried to talk about my feelings and ask to be friends again, but she made fun of that.
That exact moment, I stopped being clingy for the rest of the date. And haven't talked to her anymore. Fortunately, I was already detached and prepared to leave her if she didn't like me as I am or didn't meet my expectations.
Even though I know I messed a little in the date, I know that's ok. But I'm not happy with her laughing at me. So goodbye

Ive been harsh to her during the break up, but have apologied profusely for that. I havent begged but tried to fix things. Shes said she needs to get over me and that i need to stop messaging her (with a crying emoji. We are also 90 miles apart which doesnt help. But we were very intimate in our 6 months together, opened up a lot and understood eachother vulnerabilities. 1, You did something really bad and you really need to fix yourslef and get the masculin frame wich alows her to feel herself feminin next to you. (that will take too much time for her to wait for, so she will have a new partner therefore you will lose interest and than she will want you back, but it is too late)
2, She probably experiencing the female faith wich is the endless posibilities for have some kind of "relation" with bunch of guys. That make her distant and resentful in your relationship wich is why your relation will be colder so she could feel herself entitled to make a move and "searching for happines". That mean she will have her turns on the c@c& carussel till she feel she is ready to settle (at around 30+ by age and 50+ by body count).
Don't forget that woman have b, c, d, e, etc... options, they don't spending too much time alone.
There are many reasons a woman will pull back that having nothing to do with the man. They are based on her not being emotionally healthy and the very real she has another man she wants... don't mean he is better but she is enticed. Let er go and be move on

Nah, if they break it, forget it. Forget the games. She leaves you once without working on solving it the 1st time, she'll easily do it again. Learnt from experience.

The person that broke it is making that choice then. Either way they had no lasting commitment, and will have a very high probability of not having a lasting commitment the second time around. Of course from a female perspective there is less risk because they typically do not have to expend the same resources as a male in the process. No idea what to. Yesterday gf broke up 15 years of relationship. Said she loves me, I can see she does and I love her but her problem is unhappiness and unsatisfaction...her toughts are that we will be better people apart. I know i messed up, I am more of a static type while she is dynamic, I was not really for regular company, travels etc. And she wanted that.
