    Your video tutorials are the best by far, I tried practicing this stitch while watching other videos and got very confused with where the trebles should go until I saw your video. Thank you so much for this and now I've learnt a new pattern for my granny squares/cushion cover.

    She is literally doing this in 15 mins while I am following what she is doing for more than a hour and I’m not even done yet.😢 I’m done and this isn’t called a stitch square, this is called a stitch pentagon for me 😢😂 I literally have 5 corners😢😢😢😢😢

    • @bellacococrochet
      @bellacococrochet  10 месяцев назад

      Remember I’ve had lots of practise so don’t give up! 😊 If you have five corners you’ve just made an extra repeat in the first round; double check that you have your four corners after round one and each round should be correct from then on.

    Having learnt (maybe not to perfection) the original granny square, I thought I’d try this. Very informative & clear video, thank you. Just wondering though, you say you use that particular yarn as it changes the colour for you. How can you guarantee the colour change evenly on a new row ? ❤❤❤

    • @bellacococrochet
      @bellacococrochet  Год назад +1

      You’re welcome, I’m glad you found it helpful 😊 You can’t guarantee the colour will change on a new row (I think that’s part of the fun) - if you wanted to do that you would need to join a new colour as normal at the beginning of each round.

    Why doesn’t mine lie flat, I’ve only done about 8 rows but it’s so wavy, I have followed the pattern.
    Apart from that I like the stitch.

    • @emma-victoria3350
      @emma-victoria3350 6 лет назад +1

      Marilyn Inns I think it's to do with the tension of the wool. So I'm told as that happens to me. Also might be one row or too have one to less or to many stiches

      Mine is wavy too.. I've taken it apart and redid it.. no mistakes. I don't know why either. I'm using Hygge by Red Heart. I'll try blocking it when I'm done.

    I have watched many videos and by far yours is the best i totally understand all your work thank you for that. I have a question and it is do you by any chance crochet the numbers and alphabets? I crochet baby blankets with all their birth information on it and I can't find a video on how to crochet them 1" alls I find them is in 3" or 4" can you help plz

    • @shawtygotlo1
      @shawtygotlo1 7 лет назад

      I've never done that before, but if you use the larger patterns and choose a thinner yarn and a smaller crochet hook, it'll make it smaller. It might take a few tries, but I can't find any smaller ones, so it's better than nothing.

      It may do yes, in which case I'd recommend blocking it :-)

    Why don’t my squares lay flat??

    • @bellacococrochet
      @bellacococrochet  11 месяцев назад +1

      I would try blocking it - you just need to stretch it and pin it out into shape, and it should begin to lay flatter 😊

  • @shawtygotlo1
    @shawtygotlo1 7 лет назад

    Love your tutorials! How would you join these? Single crochet or join as you go? And is there any way to join these with normal granny squares?

    • @bellacococrochet
      @bellacococrochet  7 лет назад +1

      You could do either depending on what look you were going for. If you were joining with normal granny squares I would probably go with the SC method. Have a play and let me know how you get on :)

    • @shawtygotlo1
      @shawtygotlo1 7 лет назад

      Yes, just like regular granny squares. But be aware that it will be a square (not rectangular) and because the rounds increase, most people get tired of making really long rounds later in the work
