This is one of the top 5 Mary wrote & performed in my opinion. She remains a deep lyric writer with a deep beautiful voice & guitarist of excellence. She is easily loved for reaching our human core/heart. Spiritually deep, it is impossible to compliment in words. "Please continue to write & sing all that God gives you, Dear."
About all you really need: a warm place to lay your head, sustenance for the day and a musical soulmate playing at your side. More than I can ask. Thanks, darlin'.
Can't wait until Ms MCC, Ms Colvin and mr Cohen are out touring together this fall, even if borders to 🇺🇸 remains closed or custom officers go on strike as they stated may be the the case today. Just to know they are back at their craft, safe taking all measures in covid times and enjoying their careers that have been put on hold a good year and a half. Beautiful song...I have so many of Ms MCC that are favorites. 🇨🇦
I've been blessed to of seen her twice and she is hands down my favorite all time artist. Love to you Chapin and thanks for being a constant in my life.
Don’t need much to be happy Four walls and a roof overhead Books and food in my belly Cool sheets upon the bed A fire that warms up December The sound of a thaw in the eaves Sometimes it’s hard to remember How tough we are to please All in good time Somehow I find Days that still shine with light All in good stead I’m safe and I’m fed With dreams in my head Good night The feel of my hand being taken Driving at night all alone The breeze on a warm summer evening And coming home All in good time Somehow you find Days that still shine with light All in good stead You’re safe and you’re fed With dreams in your head Good night Don’t need much to be happy A friend to soften a fall And something to show for my labors After all I had to learn to be grateful I had to learn how to see Mistakes that might have proved fatal Are gifts I now receive
A beautiful new song. I'm so glad Mary's decided to do a show this September in Arizona's finest little city - Prescott. Can't wait to see her in person!
I've recently rediscovered Mary Cahpin Carpenter allIcansay is wow every song every woed from this womans mouth I'm in love again thankyou thankyou thankyou!!!!!
Thanks for your comment bourgion64...You spoke the words of my heart and soul. I lost my 20 year old son, eight months ago(Jan 17, 2014). It's so comforting to know that artists like Mary Chapin Carpenter can touch us with her honesty, and make us all feel more human. Bless you and take care my friend, from Tim in Ontario, Canada.
Very heartbreaking loss - your beloved son and so young. Trust your faith and believe that you will see him again - "and in that day you will ask Me nothing" (John 16:23) Jesus promises. Not to preach at you, just that I lost my newborn son (29 years ago). opened the Bible and my eyes fell upon that passage starting at verse 21. It spoke to my heart and I pray it comforts you, too.
I know the feeling. Would give it all, past, present, and future to have my Daughter back. Dave Matthews said it best, "You should never have to bury your own babies."
+Robby M I am putting in the same request, more Mary Chapin Carpenter please. well that's 2 actually visable votes might count for 10 or 50 more. thanks.J.
Oh Mary...women feel the fibers of life that men never do...there is a depth of this world... a sense like the vibrations on a spider's web foretelling futures unknown except through a mother's intuition and love...closer to God than our father's blotted view...

Don’t need much to be happy
Four walls and a roof overhead
Books and food in my belly
Cool sheets upon the bed
A fire that warms up December
The sound of a thaw in the eaves
Sometimes it’s hard to remember
How tough we are to please
All in good time
Somehow I find
Days that still shine with light
All in good stead
I’m safe and I’m fed
With dreams in my head
Good night
The feel of my hand being taken
Driving at night all alone
The breeze on a warm summer evening
And coming home
All in good time
Somehow you find
Days that still shine with light
All in good stead
You’re safe and you’re fed
With dreams in your head
Good night
Don’t need much to be happy
A friend to soften a fall
And something to show for my labors
After all
I had to learn to be grateful
I had to learn how to see
Mistakes that might have proved fatal
Are gifts I now receive
Thanks for the lyrics .
VALUABLE.

Anyone know what kind of guitar she is playing?
My guess is it might be a Huss & Dalton, she also plays
a Greven type J maple body a lot she has had 30 years.
