What the Clunk is if you look at the inner bell crank on the powder measure as it is moving you will see that the inner bell crank has a bend in it and catches on the lip of the powder measure and causes the clunk. if you don't want the clunk any more just bend the inner bell crank straight and add a spring like are used on the older powder measure the powder measure will operate a lot smoother.

Eagle you will get it, as weird as it sounds I think the clunk is normal. When I got into reloading I started with XL650, very similar press. Welcome to the world of reloading. I’ve got a few channels I’d suggest for getting the Dillon to work to perfection. 1st is WTF SoCal & Squatch Reloading. They both do a much better job at explaining than I, also check out @Georgia Shooting Connection we do a reloading livestream Friday’s at 8pm EST. Reloading podcast is another good stream to check out on Tuesday’s at 8pm EST. Thanks for sharing and keep the content coming.

Thanks for coming by! I listened to a GSC for the first time last night.
I am a fan of squatch. Kinda why I chose the Dillon.

I'm not sure what you fixed ? My 550 has always had that precision at dumping powder with a ball powder .

So you're averaging a 4.9 with a some time 5.0 witch ain't bad at all . I think the Lee can + or - about .2 another thing is different powders will give different charges in a powder throw . Say I use bullseye ( my favorite pistol powder ) then I switch to cfe pistol . It can be off by a hole grain . Reason is that one powder can be bigger flakes or balls than the other . Also with these scales just you're breath will change what it's reading . Notice how the grain went from 4.9 to 5.0 then back to 4.9 well you were talking ? With my Frankford scale and my lee precision scale they will go buck wild if I reload with garage door open and a fant breeze . ( Sorry for bad spelling no coffee yet ) .

I have been noticing that the powder bar is pretty sensitive, sofar I have only run CFE Pistol but ill be experimenting soon. Not a lot of choices for powders.

@@EagleReloads if you can you might like bullseye powder . That's what I use for my 45acp cause it is consistent in my lee powder charge .

So what did you do to “fix” it? Mine is stock and works reliably but I don’t get anywhere near that precision. Thanks

I adjusted the angles on my fail safe rod.

It is hard to know if your "clunk issue" is normal or not. I had an issue out of the box with the failsafe rod and once I corrected it the major clunk went away and now it runs smooth as butter. I wonder if you are having a similar issue as I did until I bent the rod a bit to make it drop directly straight down.
