    I've been reloading for 50 years, still learned a couple of valuable tips. Best pistol setup video I have seen. Thanks!

    I just won a Dillon RL550C in a SASS raffle. Never reloaded a round in my life. But now with the help of Gary, the Human Manual, I am confident I can get this thing set up and running in no time. Gary, you are the Dillon man with the plan!

      That is a very nice press and a very nice thing to win. Take your time and learn from a loading manual or three and you will make great ammunition.

    I very much appreciate the schooling in the dye set up. I usually set up each dye & station individually on my super 1050 press. It did not occur to myself to have a fired case in the sizing and flaring station at the same time to have equal upward pressure on the tool head but it does make a lot of sense. I know from previous experience that very small changes can make very significant improvements. From this point forward I will be using this information to set up my tool head as you have instructed.

    Oh wait, there was no RUclips then, just printed instructions in box. Thanks for the lesson

    Did Gary injure his thumb working on a small block Chevy? 😂

      He did indeed pinch his precious thumb while cranking away on a small block Chevy recently. Not to fear, our human manual is back up and teaching.

I have been watching your videos for a very long time but I like to go back from time to time and just refresh with a knowledgeable expert.

    I just ran into your video. Looks well done. I'll have to compare it to how I've been doing it.
    Question though: I just saw you say to leave around nine threads showing on the expander/funnel die. You said it was a good place to start. From the looks of the video you have almost twice that number of threads showing. Did you mean to say to screw it in nine threads?

    I bought an XL 750 about 4 months ago and the Powder drop is so inaccurate that I can not risk using it. I like Dillon generally but I can not risk blowing my hand off with my 500 magnum handgun because of this. Now I just use an electric powder scale/dispenser and double check half the loads as I am loading. Had I known, I would NEVER have bought Dillon

    If you're enjoying life too much and want to feel some genuine hate and rage, start reloading an old bottleneck pistol cartridge like .44-40. Preferably with black powder (but not in an automatic powder measure!)

    Meanwhile, *_all_* the Pistol Caliber Carbide 3-Die Sets are backordered. Still. A year ago, I needed a set for .357/.38 Special and I had to buy Lee. What seems to be the problem?! I detailed the problems I had on the Dillon Forums, but unfortunately, the forums went away, perhaps because people mostly complained about how long their stuff had been on backorder.

    • @76Highboy
      @76Highboy Год назад +5

      From my experience, because I own my own forum and I hear it all, these companies are in a bad position. Supply chains are broke. Virgin material is minimal and expensive. The labor force is depleted and companies are stuck in continual training modes. Then, more than ever, the percentages of new reloaders is at an all time high. On top of that, tolerances and quality of manufacturing is being maintained by companies like Dillon. Due to the shortage of components and the frenzy of the masses of new reloaders, forums have become a place where members tend to be ctitical of companies and so I understand why forums close. For my personal forum, I immediately ban members who tend to grind against these companies because I feel we should stand with them and support them. Dillon has done everything right from my perspective. The wisest thing we can do is be patient and allow the companies to focus so they can get caught up. I do understand your frustration but the fact is, our world has changed and it's not looking like there is any relief in our near future. Until Dillon gets caught up, your Lee dies will serve you well so enjoy them. Eventually, Dillon will get the dies you need and... it will be worth the wait. I hope that helps. Highboy

      I have a neat theory in which you set the market by creating a demand through self induced scarcity.
      Others will blindly defend Dillon and their practices..... ever since Mike died they suck

      @Cousin Daniel Nope!!! Dillon has my respect. So many of my viewers have shared so many positive experiences when dealing with Dillon. Like countless other companies who have had to endure these difficult times, Dillon has remained SOLID!!! I have seen this first hand and have experienced it myself. Highboy
