Lee rocks, actually. I don't have any of their presses but I use their dies and trimming tools a lot. And their Autodisk powder measure is great for loading tons of pistol or .556 rounds. I have a Redding turret press for working up loads, and a Hornady progressive press, but I still use Lee tools all the time.

I don't reload anything for my semiauto rifles without using a Lee crimp die. I separate it from bullet seating bc that just makes it less complicated. I also check with a case gauge if possible.

I'm looking to get into this. I already reload for 300 Blackout, and I already have am Aero ( DPMS pattern) 308 lower and 2 uppers in .308 so my startup costs won't be NEARLY as high. And my 308 lower is set up with a pistol brace because one of my 308 uppers is a 12", so I'm thinking a 12" 8.6 barrel for this new upper. I'll just need to get a barrel, stripped upper receiver, and handguard and I can reuse my 308 lower, BCG and charging handle. And now, 2 years after this video, you can get Lee dies in 8.6. And there are vids here on YT about making 8.6 brass from 6.8 casings. I live in Montana and this should be an awesome hunting round.

The 338 specter has the same issue as the 8.6 blackout. They went with a 338 projectile instead of 9mm. I already own multiple 9mm suppressors and i don't want to start all over with another bullet diameter. I tried one of my cans on a buddy's 8.6 and it helped, but it was significantly louder than it was with a proper .338 suppressor. Q went with 338 because it was one of the most uncommon calibers for suppresors so they had a monopoly for a short time after it was released. And the fanboys line up and said "take my money" for guns with mediocre build quality.

I just assembled mine. The locks are useless if someone wanted to get in they could by force. I will change the locks to handles.

I'm sorry but 338 spectre is silly imo. 300 blk out and 8.6 cover the range imo.

Use red rouge polishing compound about one spoon full and three hours later you will have to wear sunglasses to look at it.

These plastic scales are sensitive to static electricity, especially if you use a plastic powder pan with them. There are fixes for that. The manufacturers don’t want to mention it because it would make their scale appear inferior. But the truth is, all the cheap plastic reloading scales have this sensitivity. Easy to fix if you know how.

I have had my 550 for just over 40 years I think, and I still use it all the time. Did 1,000 rounds of 9mm about 2 months ago, then been churning out 300 blackout since lol

So…why do we need this round again?

How fast can that 8.6 fly, and how damn much magic dust do you have to sprinkle in that casing to do it

I have had one for a little over a year. Works great. I heat the brass until I can just see it glowing red in a dark room, then it drops. I get very consistent results.
