@@Michigan4Conservative O.K., I am familiar with that but casting bronze is not something the average person has the ability to do. Maybe zinc bullets would hold up and that is possible to do at home with traditional casting equipment.
@@HobbiesHobo Yea, I am not sure which is the "smart ass" emoji.🤪 Seriously, I was wondering about a polymer jacket, like a sabot round... maybe 3D printed? Or injection molded, then the sky is the limit to projectile. (Well, anything that will spin "true" and not fly apart) I'll leave the projectile to the imagination of the reader, as to not promote any AP rounds. 😎
I've heard a rumor.... All you need to do for making 8.6 Blackout brass: Feed a flock of unicorns an equal mix of nickel, silver, and brass. Then a few hours later, they poop out your cases. (Of course they will need to be sized, trimmed and polished) 😅
Very cool. I ordered neck turning equipment from midway because I’m building mine to be a plinker and I’d like to be able to use range scrap brass. I’ve reloaded.308 from 30-06 and 270 and had issues in the past but it was just an experiment to see if it’d work. Looking forward to your results
@@EagleReloads i got a Franklin armory universal trimmer to trim to length. I’ve used a “worlds best trimmer” for .308,300bo,7.62x39 and had good luck. I’ve trimmed 270 down to .308 with a wbt so I’m a bit of a hack but had good results
ammo should be a fully protected industry so we don't have to "pursue other means" like smuggling, DIY, trade event groups, etc.: it is an acid test for our legal apparatus, systems of 'justice'.
Unfortunately, ammo is boutique only or reload your own. Hoping that changes, but with ammo supply still catching up, it could be years before its on a shelf.
Update: I reloaded my first super sonic rounds last night. video on that soon!
Sweet!
You gotta start considering casting bullets, the price of those bullets is gonna be hard to handle if you want to shoot much.
Bronze cast.
1:3 twist
What does that do to hard cast lead?
@@Michigan4Conservative 1:3 twist adds a new factor to casting, maybe that caliber needs jacketed? Not really sure what "Bronze Cast" is?

A long lost Roman technique for making strong, pointed things. 😅

I am collecting brass making gear now. still need a turner, and a different trimmer.
@@EagleReloads I’ve heard good things about hornady’s neck turning setup. Pretty sure midwayUSA had in stock for under $100
@@jeffhuntley2921 ok I’ll check that one out. Got my harbor freight chop saw today.
