  • Pat Travers and was a huge influence in my drumming since I was a teen. I learned all of his albums as a kid and played so many of his songs in cover bands. Heat In The Street has one of those unique beats and tight breaks I wanted to cover for a long time. His albums have inspired me, my band mates and so many of our friends. Truly a kick ass band. Seeing Tommy Aldridge on the drums for the first time back in 1978 was mind blowing and left us all slack jawed.
Thanks again to my wife for her camera work and help. Enjoy!

Songs like this one is a big reason why I quit trying to be a drummer when I was a teenager lol. I love all the complexities involved in this but I could never figure out how to play much of it. You make it look like an easy song to play but it’s insanely complicated. So much creativity is involved in a drummer putting together an arrangement like this. Extremely unorthodox stuff. Again.. you make it look so easy. Thanks for sharing. Great job. Born in ‘63.

Thanks so much! I really loved this beat Tommy created for this song. The Hi Hat work alone is awesome. Thanks again for your kind words. Born in '64 : )

I lost a close friend who was a drummer and we used to play this in his garage. He and I were both Tommy Aldridge fans, who I first saw playing with Black Oak Arkansas back in the mid 70's. A true master of the double bass and the bare-hand solos were always show stoppers. Enjoyed your cover!
