It seems to be never ending with this Jeep Liberty KJ CRD, however; we're getting close to having all of it's issues worked out. Today, we take a look at the ABS system and more specifically the wiring of the system.
We just replaced both front wheel hubs/ABS sensors putting the rear ABS wheel speed sensor front and center of our next troubleshooting point of this work.
Both the BRAKE and ABS lights are lighting up the dash on this vehicle, which has been the case for well over a year now.
A couple symptoms have been a non-working ABS system, meaning the wheels simply lock up when the brake petal is heavily suppressed as well as a non-working odometer.
We would love to have you join our 2StallGarage family. Tell us what you've got going on in your shop, driveway, parking lot, or wherever you are working.
    What are we doing today?
    Jeep KJ ABS system troubleshooting.
What are we using to complete the work?
Pretty common hand tool and a replacement pigtail connector for the rear speed sensor.
Do you have any concerns about today's work?
We are about to embark on a 3,500 mile round trip to Pensacola, FL and would like to have a working ABS system for safety reasons.
Why did you decide to do this?
    Safety concerns.
Any advice for others experiencing this issue?
There are several threads online that discuss this issue to go along with several RUclips Videos. Take some time, do some research and hopefully you'll be able to resolve this issue on your own while saving a good amount of money along the way. You can do it!
How are you going to fix this issue?
    Troubleshooting and not giving up.
What's your favorite thing about working in the shop?
Ensuring the job is done right while saving money, which in turn, helps provide for my family. More and more, we are enjoying engaging in our 2stallgarage community of doers. Thank you for watching today and God bless.
What would you improve, if anything?
I would have done this a year ago.
    Any additional thoughts?
We complete this work in a small 2 stall garage with limited space. You can do anything you would like to do, no matter the space you have, just plan accordingly and adjust your plans to the size of your workspace. We Believe In YOU!
What's coming to the shop in the future?
DIY Professional Window Tinting Job For Cheap.
Are you able to do lots of work in a limited space?
Yes, without question. The biggest issues I face in our 2 stall garage is organization. Keeping the workspace organized and both stalls clear of clutter really helps with motivation, which then helps with productivity. Basically, if I see a clean workspace, I'm much more ready to dive into a project or even just scheduled maintenance like today's oil change.

This has got to be the coolest Jeep KJ I’ve ever seen. Almost as cool as the Dodge Dynasty of 1988 with the 3L V6. That was 120HP that couldn’t be matched. 👍

Thanks. I have a 2007 Jeep Liberty that the ESP / BAS light, traction light (squiggly lines), and ABS light came on all at the same time. And whatever the cause seems to be causing the acceleration to vary, as if power is being cut to some wheels, or all of them.
I want to disable all of those features to see if the acceleration issue stops. I don't need them. The lights can stay on, I don't care.
Do you know if I can do so with fuses or relays? Thanks!

I found a decent article on (jeep corner . com). Search "How To Fix ESP BAS Light on Jeep Liberty [5 Causes & Fixes]" from GOOGLE and you should find it. The fix should be something simple and might be easier than trying to disable the system all together. I hope this helps!

I also have a 2005 liberty crd. Abs light on. Replaced all sensors and lights goes off when started them comes on after I start moving. I'm gonna look into the plug. Do you have a link to the pigtail for the diff sensor

So sorry for the late reply here. Search "WVE by NTK
1P2047 ABS Wheel Speed Sensor Connector" on Amazon. It's about $26.00. If you don't find it on Amazon, search the same on google and you'll find it. There are a couple other possibilities, but I hope this resolves the issue. Have a great day. -Justin

Hi bro , I have jeep liberty 2006 when I drive on gravel way sometimes ABS lights on when I switch off the engine it will off the ABS light ,whats wrong with that? the video was helpful👌

    • @2StallGarage
      @2StallGarage  Год назад +1

Good morning. It sounds like you have a bad hub assembly. Restarting the engine will reset the sensor and light until it fails again.

Did this cause the speedo to not work as well.
Im getting this problem after timing belt change , where the mechanic said he had trouble connecting wires that he couldnt reach

    • @2StallGarage
      @2StallGarage  2 года назад +3

The speedometer would work about 75 percent of the time. Since I replaced both ABS sensors up front and fixed the wiring on the rear diff, it’s hasn’t had any issues.

Could be the battery is getting weak on the TPMS sensor. That’s the 1st thing I would check without having more info.

I believe it’s in the same places if it’s a 2006. There should be one on each wheel bearing in the front and one on top of your rear differential.
