Hey Clay, Quick question. During the resistance test, you say that the resistance should be under 5 ohms, yet the meter says 476 MegaOhms. I am getting my traction control activating on my front left wheel but the wheel speed sensor has identical resistance to the one you tested. Meanwhile, my passanger front wheel sensor has a resistance of 1 MegaOhm.
Clay, dear sir.... thank you for your time...please...on a 06 liberty, front wheel speed sensor, are they replaceable or is it part of the whole wheel bearing assembly? I am not seeing anything on YT for this. THANKS! God Bless!
As far as I remember they are replaceable you remove the bolt and remove the sensor. I believe they are held on by 10 mm bolts and then sometimes you need to wiggle the sensor out of the hole it is not a bad idea to spray it with penetrant before trying to remove it. Even if it breaks off inside the hole you can still take a drill and drill out the plastic then re-insert the center make sure you don’t drill too far and it hurt the reluctor ring underneath it
It means it’s doing what it supposed to do that your ABS sensing ice on the road as long as there’s ice on the road…… If there’s no ice on the road and it’s not losing traction then that means you probably have a bad wheel speed sensor on one of the wheels
No, I’m sorry it cannot normally that’s the timing issue on the Jeep or a vacuum leak. Highly unlikely it’s a vacuum leak though. Could also be a dirty throttlebody, plugged air filter lots of things, but a very good suggestion on a video I should make in the future.
@@sharpcarco I got it hooked up to a computer and that was the only issue that came up. at 1st it would die when I came to a stop. now it's just having trouble accelerating
Could be a plugged catalytic converter to, vacuum leaks, and depending on the timing situation, dirty throttle bodies plugged air filters, will not come up on a scanner
@@sharpcarco it was having problems a few days ago for the 1st time. it was dieing when I came to a stop or when I wasn't pressing gas. now it starts and runs no problem but when I accelerate I feel something like it's having trouble accelerating. I didn't think a sensor could make your car die either
@@sharpcarco I got it hooked up to a computer twice the first time at O'Reilly's they said it was a EGR position sensor AutoZone told me I don't even have a EGR position sensor in my truck their computer said left front wheel speed sensor circuit and when I asked if that would make my truck die they told me yes it would make my truck do a few funny things
Yeah, I think I made a video on that but even if I didn’t, I’m pretty sure that if you look in the description there’s a link to the manual to be able to change that you have to remove the steering wheel. It’s an expensive part I tried to fix mine.. no Cuarto
That may not be the case because it’s either one or the other generally not both…. I might would take it somewhere else and get a second opinion. I could also recommend if you don’t mind convictional brakes, unplugging the ABS pump and I do have a video for certain on how to change that control module without bleeding the brakes system I’m certain you can do it yourself just look underneath my jeep playlist it’s there I’m for sure
@@sharpcarco Thanks I definitely will but it was 2 separate codes 1 for clock spring esp light and 2nd code was abs pump module for traction light on. I did ask to check the speed sensors he said they where fine and it didn't show on the scanner it would had said right tire rear ext.
Well, that’s because one is causing the other. I would lean heavily towards it actually being the clock spring more so than the ABS controller because the ABS is controlled by the clock spring because it needs it to know where the steering wheel is so it knows how to actuate the ABS controller. It is possible that both of them, but if it was mine, I would be changing the clock spring first. Even though the ABS controllers much simpler to replace of course you could just replace the ABS control her and see if that code goes away but you might be just wasting money and time.. Knowing what I know about these jeeps I know for certain that the clock spring goes out before the ABS goes out but in the past I had to change both, so anything is possible
Well it’s not because of Covid……. Well it kind of is because of Covid I guess during Covid my dog ate my false teeth and I was embarrassed about it for a long time so I wore the mask….. I felt as if this question needed an answer immediately lol

I don’t remember sorry but I do remember putting the factory manual in the description so it definitely will have the answer your looking for
My Jeep Liberty is a 2010 and the wheel speed sensor reads open on the continuity check. Does that mean it’s an active system?

Buen video gracias
Can fixing the wheel sensor problem cause battery problems such as a drainage problem?
Yes also the alternator
Can you add the link to manual?
Thank you
Yes sorry forgot

Why does my jeep feel like brakes are grabbing for split sec then my traction control light flashes

It could be the wheel speed sensor or the module My car was doing the same thing. I fixed both and the problem was fixed
can a front wheel speed sensor cause your car to die at a stop sign
