@3DayWeekend hey did your Cherokee have like a clunk sound when starting to take off also had to hit the brakes hard and now same lights on and an odd clunk
You nip it right in the butt. Thanks for the demonstration. The deal wanted to charge me $500 just to do this job. The part for me only cost $29 with life time warranty, at auto zone. I will do it myself. Thanks again for the tip. You rock. 👍
The same happened with my 2006, V8 4.7. And it was resolved by changing the abs sensor, as you explain in your video. I also had another problem, indicating "4wd system service", which I solved by simply removing the corresponding fuse, starting the engine, replacing the same fuse and restarting the engine. And the problem disappears. I believe that by doing this I applied a reset to this system. Thanks e Regards from Brazil.
Terrific! I have also experienced the "Service 4WD System" error, and was able to resolve it by pulling a fuse. It was in this exact same Jeep! Been working great since though, so here's hoping it was just a fluke. Thanks for watching all the way in Brazil!
Thanks! I've had it 4 years and intend to keep it as long as possible. It's the winter Jeep (to keep the wife's Commander away from the salt) so eventually I will lose the corrosion battle, but I'll do everything I can to keep the wheels turning until then!
You're welcome. Yes, always fumbling around with lights! I have a new camera light that seems to be working pretty well so far. Thanks for the suggestion and for watching!
Thumbs up buddy. You earned it. About to buy used 2006 5.7l hemi, ridiculous low k’s (miles), great condition but with esp bas and track control lights on. Will now buy 👍
Thanks for the video. I have a Jeep Grand Cherokee 3.0 CRD 2005, U140c, after replacing the sensor, everything is OK, but the U140C fault cannot be cleared through diagnostics. Why can't u140c be deleted from the car's control unit even after a successful repair? Thank you for your response
As long as the light goes out, you're good. If the light doesn't go out, it's still unhappy about something in that right rear wheel. If the light goes out but the code stays, you're fine. It'll just take a predetermined number of drive cycles for that old code to go away on its own. Some of them take as many as 50 drive cycles for the old codes to clear.
Thanks. I have a 2007 Jeep Liberty that the ESP / BAS light, traction light (squiggly lines), and ABS light came on all at the same time. And whatever the cause seems to be causing the acceleration to vary, as if power is being cut to some wheels, or all of them. I want to disable all of those features to see if the acceleration issue stops. I don't need them. The lights can stay on, I don't care. Do you know if I can do so with fuses or relays? Thanks!
Hmmm.... good question. The ABS can be disabled with the ABS fuse/relay, but I'm not 100% certain that it will fully disable the traction control as well. The good news is that you likely have a bad wheel sensor, which is a relatively easy fix. If a wheel sensor thinks one wheel is going faster than the rest, it will pull power and could potentially apply braking, depending on the year/make/model. You could see what removing the ABS fuse/relay does as a test, but if you can have someone read the ABS codes and replace the bad sensor, that will likely fix your acceleration issue as well. I'd be remiss if I didn't mention that nobody should drive on public roads with safety systems disabled or inoperative, and doing so could result in some legal ramifications if the vehicle were to be involved in an incident. Hope that helps and you're able to fix your issue soon!
When all these lights were coming on your dash, were you also getting a mechanical grinding sound? You know like the anti slip trying to brake or shift traction to another wheel?
I didn't, but it does happen. If the wheel speed sensor is reading a speed incorrectly, the ABS system will interpret that as wheel slip and will try to engage. This is typically more prevalent at very low speeds - like when you're almost to a complete stop.
Both of you were correct, I separated the CV axle from the wheel hub and the bearing was oozing grease that turned into almost hard candle wax texture. I replaced the hub and steering knuckle with a new bearing installed because it was cheap online. Also replaced the ABS sensor because something was rubbing on it. I reset the stored ABS code with a scanner that has ABS system accessibility and the problem went away.
@@erickaerickson3080 we get nasty winter cold weather here, and all the gremlins in the cars around here start to come out and create nasty breakdowns lol. Thank God for RUclips and people willing to share knowledge.
Alpha OBD is so important to have if you want to do your own repairs. It told me which abs sensor was bad just the other day on my 06 WK GC. Ordered a new one for an easy fix by the look of it. How do you like your Wild traks? I used the Alpha OBD to adjust the speedo too when i put a set of 245/75R /17 Wild Traks on my GC. 31" tyres instead of stock 29" + Inch and a half lift too. Also tells me which glow plugs are faulty, Extremely helpful.
AlphaOBD never ceases to surprise me. Had to replace a tire pressure sensor and after I did, the service tire pressure light came on. Forums say it has to go to a dealer to have the new sensor programmed into the SKIM. Fired up AlphaOBD, found the option, and programmed it in myself! Love it! Those tires have been EXCELLENT. They are a little aggressive so there is some tire noise, but they ride and wear really well. I liked them so much, I got another set for the wife's Commander. Very pleased. When they wear out, I'll be getting them again for sure! Thanks for watching!
Hey i like your screen in the middle my 06 grand cherokee jeep limited 4.7 V8 doesnt have that but anyways when i turned on my jeep it showed the same lights as your dash and when i turned i off and turned it back on it still showed the lights and i turned it off waited like 10 to 15 mins and turned it back on the lights was still there so i put it in Neutral and then pulled up 4wd and then the 4wd turned off and the other lights as well should i have not done that? Oh and btw when i got my new tires and alignment done the guy said i need new tire sensors is that why the lights turned on?
Thanks! I also like the screen. After replacing a wheel sensor, the vehicle must be moved for the ABS system to see the new sensor and clear the light. The tire sensors are just for your tire pressure monitoring system. That's a different light, and you'll get a message on your speedometer screen saying "Service Tire Pres System".
Hi I'm having the same problem with my grand Cherokee I have the same one as you.when I drive the truck clucks every now and then on and off.i was told I need what he brought and that will stop and all them lights will go out.did yours do that
Yes, my speedometer did work. Sounds like you have a different sensor/sensors causing your issue. I believe there is a vehicle speed sensor on the transmission which would be tied to your speedometer. If that is faulty, it would probably throw all these same lights. I could be wrong, but that's where I would start.
Would you happen to know if the connector for an 07 Compass is as easily accessible as this? The wire goes through a clip in wheel well I have yet to remove. Could I get that lucky?? Had to replace the front wheel hubs and bearings and the driver's side sensor was too corroded to come out cleanly. It broke. Thanks for a great video.
It has been a while since I worked on a Compass, but I do recall the connector was right up front, similar to this Jeep. If I recall correctly, it's right behind the inner wheel well. Shouldn't be too hard to get to. Glad the video helped! Thanks for watching!
Thanks for the reply and I actually found it. All you have to do is remove the air box and the connector is easy to get to under the hood. Again, your video is very helpful. Thank you.

Hopefully that's it. You never know with those cheap ones. I put a cheapo EGR valve on the Jeep last year, and my check engine light just came on for EGR valve again. That didn't last long!

If your ABS light is not on for this code, then this fix will not have any effect. Purely a guess, but perhaps there is an issue with the button assembly itself? I'm pretty sure those buttons all go on the CANBUS, so if there was a problem with the button assembly, a reset would get it working again. I could be wrong, but if it were mine, I'd probably start there. Hopefully you're able to get that resolved! I would find that problem very annoying!
I was told this is what i need all the same light are on in my grand Cherokee 5.7 L 4x4.because mine is bad.my truck is clicking and clucking while im driving on and off.is that supposed to do that .
It is possible that's all you need, if your describing the sound of the ABS and/or Traction Control System activating. If a sensor is faulty, it can sometimes make the computer think a wheel is going the wrong speed, and the ABS/TCS will attempt to slow the other wheels.
That's a tricky answer. Here it goes: It won't cause mechanical damage to the vehicle, however, several safety features of your Jeep are currently disabled. If you found yourself in a scenario that required emergency braking or a quick steering maneuver, your braking and stability assists would not engage which could result in an accident. ABS - your tires would lock up under full braking, resulting in a loss of steering. ESP/BAS (Electronic Stability Platform / Brake Assist System) - in an emergency steering scenario, the stability control would not function, which could allow the vehicle to fish-tail resulting in a loss of control or it could even flip over. BAS works with ABS to shorten your stopping distance. I would recommend fixing it as soon as possible from a safety standpoint, but mechanically no additional harm would be done to the vehicle by delaying the repair, provided the light is on for only a faulty wheel speed sensor. Hope that helps!

Any chance you would have an idea how to fix it? Can’t find anything on RUclips, just trying my luck to fix it myself before i take it to a mechanic. From Australia
Just the ESP light? It shouldn't have issues running with just the ESP light, as it is a completely separate module from the engine computer. Perhaps that is a byproduct of some other issue, or an additional issue. I'm suspecting your engine computer will show you some other issue. Alfa-OBD is your friend for troubleshooting. Just like the Check Engine Light, the ESP light could be on for many things. You'd have to run the diagnostics to know for sure. Sorry I can't be of more help.
Ugh, I hate that. Really hate the design on that one. I feel your pain, had to change one on the wife's Commander a few weeks ago. Nothing wrong with the hub, other than the ABS sensor was stuck in there! Thanks for watching!
I have this on my 2008 Jeep GC CRD diesel. All of these lights came on, as well as it’s saying “4 LO” in middle. And it won’t shift now and i can’t get that 4 LO to go away. Any insight ? Randomly happened. I’m stumped
That doesn't sound good.... I'd try a reset first (disconnect the battery, touch the leads together, wait 30 seconds, reconnect). Hopefully that would clear enough to get it rolling, but a code reader should tell you the root cause of the problem.
You need to replace transcase front and back axle, fluid with Synthetic- 4 fluid ( it's usually transmission fluid, or similar, oil, you have to do your own research, if your a diy) All AWD or 4x4 require flush and replace fluid every 30,000 miles. It takes 2 quarts per /f/b axle to fill transcase. Stay safe
That radio is a Kenwood DMX7706S. I put it in a few years ago and it is already outdated! Crutchfield is your friend. Run through their wizard and they will tell you what you need and send you the instructions if you need them.
Make sure you check the codes to find the exact cause of your issue. Mine said it was the front left sensor, but there are 3 other sensors it could be, or it may be a different problem that doesn't involve the wheel speed sensors at all. The ABS unit could be faulty, or you could have a broken/corroded wire or connection too. Definitely have someone run the ABS codes and go from there.
I have the same exact models as urs but my engine size is 4.7 v8 , those kept popping on and off but shifted great still but when I got to point B for where I was going and on my way back to point A it started going into limp mode and kept flashing traction control , and for some reason it’s able to shift like it usually does but sometimes I’m able to go to 40-60 at times then flashes those codes and then goes to limp mode again and does the traction control flashing when it happens , the alignment is great still nothings burning for oil and everything runs like it’s supposed to and this never happened before , is it the wheel speed sensor ?
These wheel speed sensors should not put the vehicle in limp mode. I would highly recommend taking it to a shop and having the ABS system and TCM (transmission control module) scanned for codes before trying to put new parts on it. (Autozone and other chain scan tools can't scan the transmission or ABS computers) Hopefully something is amiss with the ABS that is telling your TCM to go to limp mode, but I would suspect an issue with the transmission which could disable the ABS system in limp mode. Sorry for the bad news. Best of luck to you!
@@3DayWeekend Yeah i found out what it was , so like several months ago i got spark plugs from oreillys gave them all the right info as well like all the info they need for it , and turns out they gave me the wrong dang spark plugs this entire time, i needed spark plugs that were copper , my vehicles been in the shop since like november 22nd as soon as that started happening , and it was also my wheel bearing, had to pay $670 after it got done
So I changed everything read and front sensors I tested the cables if they had power running through out the system and I still get the lights turn. On
Sounds like you may have a completely different issue. Be sure to check the ABS module fuse as well. A code reader such as AlfaOBD, a local repair facility, or the dealership will be able to read the ABS codes to pinpoint your issue.
Mine did a single ding when these lights came on, and this was the fix. If you don't have the readers, I would recommend taking it to a shop that can read the ABS module codes, and it should tell you what the problem is.
That's odd. You wouldn't think those two systems would be related! The Compass is a bit different than the Commander, so I'm not really familiar with them. Maybe disconnecting the battery would be a good place to start?
I just got this error... same wheel... reading the service manual it just says "remove sensor", great i think, easy!, but lacking details.... so i found your video and... the brake rotor has to come out?!?!,.. motherf jeep....
Yeah, the rotor does need to come off, but I've had other vehicles where the sensor is built into the hub and is not changeable, meaning you need to replace the hub just for a bad sensor. Fortunately this one is replaceable! I'm willing to call it a fair compromise! Thanks for watching!
Bummer! You may have a problem with the the plug itself or the wiring. I've seen where moisture has gotten into the plug and the pins are covered in corrosion or completely missing!
I think the wording is wrong here on the video? Maybe not? So there’s a “speed sensor” and there a “ABS wheel speed sensor” I think you would want to replace the ABS wheel speed sensor but not 100% I just bought a car today and having the same issue but thought I clarify that for you.
No need to test. C100A - front left wheel speed sensor. Swapped it out and problem solved! Had the light stayed on, more testing would have ensued, but it was good to go!
I definitely used a lot of music in my early videos, but I don't really use any at all these days. I've changed the way I edit videos so there isn't any "dead space" where I would feel obligated to use music. Always trying to improve. Thanks for the feedback!

You need to replace transcase front and back axle, fluid with Synthetic- 4 fluid ( it's usually transmission fluid, or similar, oil, you have to do your own research, if your a diy)
All AWD or 4x4 require flush and replace fluid every 30,000 miles. It takes 2 quarts per /f/b axle to fill transcase.
Stay safe
Could u help me fix mines where are you located
I'm sure you can do it! They aren't that bad. Thanks for watching!
What spray did you use?
PB Blaster
What brand radio and could you leave a link to it? And install video?
Thanks for this video also 👍🏽
That radio is a Kenwood DMX7706S. I put it in a few years ago and it is already outdated! Crutchfield is your friend. Run through their wizard and they will tell you what you need and send you the instructions if you need them.
Hello. I had the same exact issue with my '08 Jeep Commander, replaced the wheel speed sensor, still lighting up just like yours. Thoughts?
Make sure you check the codes to find the exact cause of your issue. Mine said it was the front left sensor, but there are 3 other sensors it could be, or it may be a different problem that doesn't involve the wheel speed sensors at all. The ABS unit could be faulty, or you could have a broken/corroded wire or connection too. Definitely have someone run the ABS codes and go from there.
Same with me. The repair didn't fix the lights for me
Whats the name of the scanner you use ?
That's the OBDLink MX+ bluetooth adapter paired to the AlfaOBD app on my Android phone.
Same. We had to replace the ECU and that fixed it
What does it mean if you have these 3 lights plus a dinging noise?
Mine did a single ding when these lights came on, and this was the fix. If you don't have the readers, I would recommend taking it to a shop that can read the ABS module codes, and it should tell you what the problem is.
wheel barring?
How do you fix a C2200?
Oof. That's a bad code. Typically that means a faulty ABS module and the whole thing will need to be replaced. Sorry!
I just cleaned my full throttle on my Jeep Compass and the electric stability control came on. Help 😅
That's odd. You wouldn't think those two systems would be related! The Compass is a bit different than the Commander, so I'm not really familiar with them. Maybe disconnecting the battery would be a good place to start?
Can you still drive
Yes, the Jeep was still drivable with these warning lights, but obviously several of the safety systems were disabled so it is not recommended.
IF THE FACTORY WOULD JUST PUT THINGS TOGETHER WITH ''NEVER SEIZE'' MECHANICS WOULD RAVE ABOUT THOSE BRAMDS THAT DID...
That would be a dream come true!
🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍Thank you from Saudi Arabia,
You're welcome! 👍 Thanks for watching!
I have them
Same tires on my wk 32s
They have been a great tire!
@@3DayWeekend it makes it a PITA to interchange left/right to troubleshoot
Thank you 🙏
You’re welcome 😊 Thanks for watching!
changed the whole bearing with sensor, lights still not gone out.
Bummer! You may have a problem with the the plug itself or the wiring. I've seen where moisture has gotten into the plug and the pins are covered in corrosion or completely missing!
I think the wording is wrong here on the video? Maybe not? So there’s a “speed sensor” and there a “ABS wheel speed sensor” I think you would want to replace the ABS wheel speed sensor but not 100% I just bought a car today and having the same issue but thought I clarify that for you.
...check gas cap 😅
Haha yes. I wish it were that simple! :-)
No testing? Nice 👍🏻 😂👎🏻
No need to test. C100A - front left wheel speed sensor. Swapped it out and problem solved! Had the light stayed on, more testing would have ensued, but it was good to go!
Give the music a rest buddy....
I definitely used a lot of music in my early videos, but I don't really use any at all these days. I've changed the way I edit videos so there isn't any "dead space" where I would feel obligated to use music. Always trying to improve. Thanks for the feedback!
