Hello, I got a 2007 jeep jk automatic V6 , I got the traction control system and the red sparkling light on when I press the brakes and the engine starts to be loud, it happens when the car is not moving or in a slow traffic (so I use a lot the brakes)
Thank you for your great video. I have been unable to get any codes for my Jeep since the 2 lights came on, but did not stay on. Is this a symptom of what is to come? Thank you!
The codes can help narrow down which wheel is faulting, but if the lights are not steady, and codes are not stored, does not mean no problem....... I would lift and shake each tire down until you discover the issue. And check all ABS sensor wiring to the wheels to ensure no fraying or breaking..... it may take longer to diagnose without the codes, but the problem is still there. I would not wait until it gets worse enough to trigger the codes full time 🙃 if it were me. Hope that helps!

Hello there! Just came across your video and channel today. You have a new subscriber! I am new to jeeps and they seem like difficult cars/trucks to diagnose. I have a jeep cherokee latitude and I hit a small pothole one day headed to work. Nothing happened the car kept driving smoothly. I was putting on a new belt so I disconnected the battery to be safe. When I reconnected the battery, the ABS & traction control came on. Getting a C1015 abs code now. Took for a drive to see if clears.. Nope. I didn't have any codes or lights before disconnecting battery. Any ideas? Thanks.
Another culprit: If it’s a used Jeep, the PO may have cut the purple wire with light blue tracer under the center console (or installed an inline on/off switch). Fuse J6 under hood could be pulled out or bad as well. Common for owners to do both to stop the ECM nanny control for wheelin.
Hi, I'm trying to determine if I can actually have a code reader/scan tool help determine the problem/narrow it down?. Both lights are coming on and off, along with the green going down hill light, on leftside of panel. I was told the code reader doesn't work on these ABS/Traction lights. Is that the case? I was told that this service would be $117 due to it being ABS related? I'm used to always driving in to local garage, etc. to have a code reader placed on Jeep when an Engine light, etc. pops up and the servcie is free to determine code. You didn't really mention if you used your code reader specifically to determine it was your right-side wheel causing the problem. Thank you in advance for your help.
Being able to read the code helps to narrow down which wheel is faulting, makes it easier and less time consuming for DIYers using a floor jack. But if you can't read the code, then individually check each wheel for excessive play. Odds are one is bad and causing the lights. Check all wires for the sensors as well, if all wheels are tight, a wire may be broken, still leading to the same repair

Is that unusual or normal for the right side to be detected when it was pulling or turning to left? Again, thank you for your time and help.

Need to the get the alignment set properly. And at an alignment shop. My Jeep has been to the steelership 3 times for the ABS. It fixes it for about a week or two and then returns. When mines comes on, the trans jumps a gear and then the down hill assist turns on. Within seconds, the ABS and traction control lights up. It throws a code stating the speed control is producing an impossible value.
@@JeepingForBeginners Thanks. The odd thing is the steelership can't seem to find it. Second odd thing that makes me think it is the module is that when it is cold out, it takes much longer to fail. On a hot day, it will trip out right away.
Knowing logic controls from FCA, it's either a bad module, or a bad star connector. Problem is, if it is the STAR connector, it's so incredibly difficult to diagnose or confirm... and expensive to just throw a random part at it.....
The vehicle is equipped with several STAR connectors. These are junction points that connects and redirects communications between multiple modules. Usually up to 13 at a time. Sadly, you have a half a dozen of these, which in one form or another, share communication with every module in the system. They can fail, bit when they do, it's not obvious. When the traction light and the ABS light are both on and I step on my brake pedal, it kind of pops it up back towards me is this the same problem as on the video or is this something different?
If the tire does not have solid water evacuation channels on them, like a lugged mut terrain or a worn out tire, what you are feeling is called hydroplaning.

I was installing some new fag lights on my wife's 2011 Jeep Wrangler and the abs and traction control lights came on after the installation of the first light, I was checking to see if the light was working. I noticed that the abs and tracks lights came on. I wasn't doing anything with the brake system. After installing the lights and making sure everything was working with the lights, I disconnected the battery to reset the computer, but the lights were still on. It's confusing to me because I wasn't doing anything with the brake system or anything with the breaks at all, Any suggestions?
This video could have been 15 seconds of "Check your wheel bearing". There was no filming of the change, attaching the sensor, or anything remotely value added other than linking the ABS and traction control lights to the wheel bearing.

Regardless, if sensors are not an issue, Bearings are not an issue and weather affects it, it's in the electrical system SOMEWHERE. Make sense?
Thank you for the info🙏
When the traction light and the ABS light are both on and I step on my brake pedal, it kind of pops it up back towards me is this the same problem as on the video or is this something different?
Sounds like a wheel bearing to me. Definitely give it a good shake down to be sure!
How many miles are you at?
I have an 09 patriot not oversized tires have ABS, esp bas, traction control plus ABS!!! Don’t have a clue what it is
It lost power, won’t shift into gear properly and I have to manually shift with sport shift. No one knows what it is
Thx bro appreciate the content
Would this cause my check engine light to come on though?
No. Get that checked out, BUT 5 bucks says, if it's otherwise running ok,it's your THERMOSTAT.
Great info, thanks!
I have same problem with my patriot 😢
black ops 2 intro though lol
Why driving through puddles of water the tire swerve left to right
If the tire does not have solid water evacuation channels on them, like a lugged mut terrain or a worn out tire, what you are feeling is called hydroplaning.
No noice anywhere the mechanic Jeep shop didn’t even know how to hook up radio Bluetooth so all these crazy things happened after first radio check to order part second radio check to order radio this is a stock radio could it be wiring hooked up incorrectly since had no idea how to order readily or hook up
😂 in the beginning im gonna show you how to fix it / end of video i know i didnt record me fixing it 😂 whole purpose of video lol😂
So, it's not just me that feels the excessive need for Oxygen right now.. 😮
Same. Just bought my used Jeep two states over. Get it home and these lights come on and off. After that video, I'm a little scared to drive it. I don't know how to work on a vehicle so I guess I need to call my local tire shop.
Thanks for the time and the vid but your jeep issue isnt everyones issue ... ik because im dealing with it for months now 🙄
walk 45 min a day then jump into an infrared sauna. Thank me in 6 months.
Me did almost the same.I replaced my tierod and when i finished my traction control lights were on..wth?
This video could have been 15 seconds of "Check your wheel bearing". There was no filming of the change, attaching the sensor, or anything remotely value added other than linking the ABS and traction control lights to the wheel bearing.
Go to a Dr. Breathing is really bad. Lungs or heart issues. Better safe then sorry.
I sincerely appreciate it. Have been to a few doctors, all given clean bill of health. I think my video MIC amplifies it worse then it is. Though you are certainly not the first to mention it, I promise I am fine. Working on better sound equipment to clean up the audio so people can focus more on the material presented then my breathing. Thank you again though, hope you do enjoy the content!
If you turn off trash control you save on gas like a m***********
What do those lights mean? It means that jeeps are complete junk.
POINT ME TO A GOOD MECHANIC IN MY AREA 🫶🏼🤍💯
