All of those old pipes could be repurposed. A shame they were just left to sit there. And gotta love the hydraulics on that beast, sounded like that brush hog was being controlled by a tank!
Ya Falkreath, Every time we go out there they clear the pipes, I was surprised that this one row got missed. Been doing this here for the last 10 years and this was a first.
First time watcher and love the video. I have subscribed to your channel and I hope to see more videos like this. That was one amazing machine to bring down the tall grass like that.
Hi Rodney, Yes It is driven by a Cat 299D and a Brush cutter we modified is a Cat BR378, The width of the deck is 7' and the length is 96". Hope you enjoyed.
Was all the debris raked up & hauled away? How'd you do that (if it was done at all) ? I'd love to buy one & have my son & nephew do the work- they'd love it! But I'd want it all picked up, hauled away & area ready for regular mowing. Any insights on how to do that, please? Thank you
Hey Patrick, No , That's a 4" aluminum pipe that was buried in the ground that the cutter cut in chunks, All the bolts are there.. lmao, But thanks for watchin.
Hey Snoberry, That is a #2 grade 1/2" X 4" old shear bolt that connects the hydraulic drive motor to the gearbox, probably from another job, when they go, the blades stop turning but good eye, I didn't even see it.
Hi Blair, At one time, back in the 50's I was a 30 acre chicken ranch and has been a mushroom farm since then. They use these fields now for dispersing their ponds so the growth here is only 3-4 months worth. Thanks for asking.
Slow down? Any slower then ya gonna have Grass flavored Jamba Juice running down the hill..... Trust me, In 3 months it'll look just like this again, then I'm gonna kick myself in the azz for listening to you. :) Seriously though, Every 3 months we cut this hillside and they have to shut all the valves down and stop operation while we do this, so they want it done a fast as possible. But I do appreciate the comment tho brother. Thanks for stoppin in Electric.
Frank Orosz hemlock is toxic to all animals goats included! 30 acres of the stuff is enough to kill a thousand goats! Spray it, pull and dispose, or keep it cut way back not allowing it time to flower/grow much is the only way to control it! Need a machine designed to pull it out root included to get that much pulled.
I'm telling you right now before I would get into the middle of that grass I would first make sure that I had a flare gun in case something happens and you need somebody to find you.
Hey mybrotha, It was a hidden 4"X20' aluminum irrigation pipe, cut's like butter.. lol...didn't hurt anything cause it's soft but they should have had it removed prior to doing the work..good eye bro..
Sometime we map the irrigation from the air with the aid of our drones prior to starting, so it gives us a "general" grid of the irrigation, usually they hand cut a 4' buffer from the pipes before we start but in this case they didn't, Thanks for askin Catcher
It's cutting, but I'm not seeing brush, just tall weeds. I'm not seeing anything that the average farm tractor and bushhog couldn't easily handle. Maybe cut actual brush next time?
BTW You aren't going to get a wheeled tractor on this property, It's 2' deep in mushroom compost and sand, but I sent you a link right above that you might like. Thanks for watching

This is oddly satisfying to watch and kinda relaxing too. Just hope there aren't any birds or furry friends being harmed in the process.

they should hire several weed trimmers for all pipes manholes walls or fences and tress it is a must!
Agreed Mark and they usually do, but this one line was missed by their crew. Thank you
There sure were a lot of bees at one point.... A few actually.. Did you hit a bees nest?
Hey dronetek, Yes it's pretty common to hit underground yellowjacket nests.
Whoa! The Godzilla of mowers!
Yes, they have worked great for many years Mary, the key is to keep them maintained. Thank you

Great video! What kind of mower attachment is that? Brand and size?
Hi Rolina, It's a Cat br378, we modified that gear ratio and the blades, but even stock it cuts fine.
Man that thing is mowing it down
It should, its only easy peasy weeds, bushes looks different
Thanks David, it does the same with brush.

3-4 months worth!!!! Holy cow.
@@AdamSmith-uv6kr 6 ft. High weeds is a bit more than 3-4 months growth from a clean mow but yeah... it grows quick.
Amazing! How long for those weeds to get that tall?
From my experience about a year
Ryan is close, depending on the rain, we have cut them 2 to 3 times a year.
The camera angle could have been better if it was mounted on the top.... Nway nice video m8
I'm terrible at videos Wathy, We have some with drone videos on them.
When you started going towards the tree I wasn't sure you were gonna stop.
LOL, Brasshound. I think the video put a little more drama into it, Thank you
299D. So is that Cats largest skid Steer. Bout 100hp?
You're right CV, We use the XPS and not the XPH, it has more HP and high flow pressure
This looks fun.
Thank you Ultraa, It can be.
The machine from Hell!
It does a number on this stuff.. Thanks David
What was all of that PVC piping for,
Hi Ben, no, it was 3" aluminum pipe they missed on clearing. Thank you

What do you charge per acre?
Brian, We usually charge by the job and also depending on the terrain.
Should have brought in a herd/flock of goats.

Indeed Jayknee is correct, the only way we're able to do this is because the machine have a pressurized cabin.
