    Point at the end was key for me. (Almost) Nothing on a tour truck that you couldn’t get off the shelf from another manufacturer… but contracted guys don’t have that option.
    Also why my bag has Ping, Callaway, Cobra, Mizuno, Taylormade, Titleist and Evnroll.

  • @benross422

    J Dubs a “shh” a ton 😂. I wish more manufacturers would do digital lofting and face angle measurements. That’s the only benefit IMO for Tour Issue (except if you’re one of those bonded hosel metal wood players).

  • @davead6578

    It seems the tour issue clubs help these professionals with consistency more than anything else. For me, adding the Taylormade BRNR to the bag basically helped me improve my consistency off the tee several fold and is the closest thing to a “tour issue” club I have. I was able to yet improve that by changing the stock shaft out to a GD AD-DI shaft. It’s a phenomenal fairway-finder that also delivers the distance I was after.

    I always enjoy the videos but Johnny saying "There's 150 Tour players and 25 million others" is a problem. It ignores the other Tours, especially the women's Tours. The fact that Club Champions two biggest marketing faces are Paige and Lexi makes this an even bigger error. Simple mistake on Johnny's part and an easy fix with future content.

    This is great info! Totally agree there are no unicorn tears in Tour Issue gear, but I have really enjoyed knowing exact specs for heads I have owned in the past.
    @wunderboy5195 quick question on the Apex UW: Is there any chance the TC 23 degree head will ever be available at retail? I'm sure the market is smaller for it than the average hybrid at that loft with most people needing help turning it over, but I can't be the only one that likes the idea of a UW with square to open face and bonded hosel at that loft for gapping purposes.
    I've been searching for a while and have had a helluva time finding one. It'd be perfect between my 19 degree UW and 5 iron.

    Question, I’m 62, my swing speed is slower BUT I find that when I hit a stiffer shaft I have better distance and speed. I was hitting a TSR TX shaft better than a regular shaft. I’ve always been told slower swing speed softer shaft. I’m almost 20 yards longer.

      if it works it works! try it out on the course for a round or two if you haven't already but I say its not a law that you should be in a softer shaft. getting fit is a science but its also an Art. that means there's room to break the rules! if you can, give a Stiff shaft a try and see if that works for you as well.

    • @RansomGetty
      @RansomGetty 11 месяцев назад +3

      Last I heard, tour issue faces were THICKER. Because they take a BEATING, and the faces wear down on drivers, so to keep from constantly changing, dealing with the higher speed impacts than amateurs, breaking, and holding the durability throughout a season, they start a tad thicker.

      This is a select few players that play “tour issues equipment”. If you’re calling hot melt, different weight screws, lead tape and different adapters in that category, then yeah 99% of the general population doesn’t use the same equipment as pros. But all of those are easily attainable, relatively cheap and available to the public.
