Time is money. Paying slightly more and saving charging time = very good value. We have a limited amount of time in life and we can always make/earn more money during this time. NIO battery swapping, albeit slightly more expensive, is definitely 'worth it', in my opinion. Very thorough video...I enjoyed it very much, thank you!
Great video. Nice to get more insights on China's EV charging (and swapping) infrastructure. I understand there are about 1.3 million DC (fast) chargers in China now and most of them are less than 120kW (old GBT standards I believe) but many more are getting faster for the new ones Xpeng, Nio, Huawei, etc rolling out many more of the 400kW and above stations. Western countries do not have these ultrafast chargers and Tesla, in general, are the most popular and plentiful chargers where as in China they are tiny players (11,600 chargers) and hardly expanding at all. Pleased to see NIO expanding the swaps so much in China it is slow going in Western countries though especially with expensive import tariffs on cars now.
It's rather hard to find the balance between implementing more infrastructure and profits. Most of the ultra chargers here are provided by private companies, the process is not super fast but you'll have no problems of finding any once you are living in the urban areas.
I have 4 free swaps per month on one car and 3 on the other. So I rarely pay anything. Also, Nio does sell cards that reduce the service fee, so swapping can be super cost effective when done right.

7 free swaps are fairly enough for ordinary use if not going for longer journey. You must be one of the earlier users, enjoy!

How can the swapping be done in 3 minutes? Also, how do we remove cooling hoses without losing coolant? Pls provide detailed info on this.
