There are a lot of great lines they I died laughing at when I was young, but I do recall for some reason just losing it when Deadmeat gets plowed by the Ambulance “Wendy, I can fly!” As a fake dummy flies through the air. It was so dumb and random, but somehow perfect. Sometimes you gotta just be silly in life and enjoy it.

      @jaakumitsukai8682 3 года назад

      Awesome is perhaps pushing it. Good would be a stretch. It's not that its bad, it's more that it got 'Hollywood'ised.
      Hitchhikers guide doesn't have a 'bad guy' or love interest, no good vs evil. The source material is by far one of the best stories i've ever read and the 1981 BBC tv series was also a fantastic adaptation.
      But almost as soon as Douglas Adams (The author) died, Hollywood bought and butchered something that was once a masterful piece of art. Unfortunately it wasn't the first and most certainly won't be the last (RIP World War Z)

    They did indeed do a fair amount of real flying shots, though not as many as were in Top Gun. The jets used were mostly Folland Gnats, an old British jet that the Red Arrows used to fly. Also used were a couple of BAE Hawks (the current Red Arrows planes), and F5 Tigers (also used in Top Gun as the bad guy planes). The rest of the shots were done with miniatures.

    Hot Shots 1 and 2 (and the Naked Gun movies and Top Secret and Airplane) shaped my sense of humor more than anything else when I was a kid. My mother took me to see this one when I was about seven or eight years old. She thought it was too dirty for me, but I found it to be so hilarious. When the sequel came out, me and my dad rented it and watched it, and we both haven’t laughed as hard or as often at any other comedy. I just love how there is a joke in almost every shot, and some of the jokes are so stupid that you laugh at them anyway because how absurd they are.

    It probably would have helped, if you had seen, "Dances With Wolves", though that's almost a four hour movie. When he was speaking with the chief, he was listing off members of the Jackson 5. I am happy you recognized Bill Laimbeer.

    "doin' all that to change a light bulb"
    The MSDS sheet for 'tap water' says every person that comes into contact with 'tap water' is to wear a lab coat and safety goggles every time they come into contact with 'tap water'.
    You'd be surprised what passed as a joke back then to what things are like now.

    I like the Hot shots 2 more than this first one. The squel movie is a parody to Rambo II and Rambo III. movie... and I think it is hilarious. :D

    AFFF STA is Aqueous Film Forming Foam STAtion. These are all over aircraft carriers and flight decks on smaller ships. It’s the main aircraft firefighting solution. When mixed with water it creates a blanket of foam that will smother a fire.

    Most of this movie was produced before the first Gulf War broke out, when it did, they went back and added the scene with Sadam at the last minute.
