      Most likely that connection mechanism to the camshaft has wear and no it is loose. I will try to investigate on mine and will definatelly film it 😉

    Well filmed video, it has helped me a lot doing my own repair! Never touched injectors before but after this video I had the courage to do it.
    And it's exactly the same on a Ford Mondeo 2.0 TDCi (euro 5 engine) which is great.
    I just have a question, at 17:25 I can see that you were struggling to attach the fuel return lines. How much force did you use to press them into place? When I tried to press them in, none of them entered the hole in the injector completely. They are just sitting loosely right now. I was afraid too much force was going to break them, so I left them like that. Should I try to press harder?

      Hi. Thanks you for your comment. Well, firstly check if those locks are completely ulocked, then those pipes should go in with some force, created by rubber seals. Be carefull not to brake any plastic part.

    Wow, man, you made my day !!! Awesome ! I have first diesel so I´m not familiar with disassembling of injectors (even if I have had one direct injection petrol, but it did not need this kind of service) and my mechanic refuses me about resealing injectors due to possible damage or at least stucked bolts and injectors, but now I´m thrilled to do it by myself :) Thx, take care ! Subscribed :)

      Hi, thanks. Just be sure to remove air from the fuel system before starting the engine. I have heard, that injectors can get stuck if they get air with fuel.

      @@rustoil Hi, since you have experience with these engines, my injector holder was broken and I replaced it 6 months ago. Now again the same cylinder (cylinder 2, the same one as in your video), the same injector holder broke again. Other injector holders are never touched, they are original. But this one now broke again. Do you have any idea why something like this occurs again?

    • @rustoil
      @rustoil  Год назад

      Maybe the holder bolt is overtightened.

    Hi, thank you for all the videos you make on this engine and the C5 as a car! Stay healthy and safe and I wish you the very best! I have a couple questions that came up during watching your video:
    1) Now, one thing that was on my mind (I am an amateur when it comes to engines) - when you work on high pressure systems like the one in the video, are there any precautions you take when removing the fuel rail or the high pressure fuel lines from the rail to the injectors? Is there like a depressurize procedure of some sort in the Lexia (like the one for the suspension) or a pure mechanical one to make sure that something doesn't fly off during disassembling those specific parts?
    2) When you started the engine, I heard a very familiar sound from the vacuum pump "clicking" (I don't know how to explain it better). I have the same car with the same engine and sound. The way I know it is from there is that a friend of mine had a stethoscope with a long probe at the end and when you put the probe on the vacuum pump, you can hear the clicking in your ears. You can check it for yourself to see if that's the case with you. If it were to be the case, would you buy a new one and replace it or would you use the one from the spare engine to see if that one is better? Either way, would love to see some day a video about this, because I have seen a fair share of these engines with that "ticking" noice!
    Cheers from Bulgaria!
    Alexander

      Hi! Thanks for your support :)
      1) no specific procedure to release the preassure has to be taken, as you can see in the video. All pressure goes away when engine is shut down.
      2) yes, the vacuum pump is ticking, i will try to replace it. as you have probably seen, I have a spare engine, it had vacuum pump on it, hope that it is better and will not be ticking.
      I will make a video when replacing it for sure :)

    Hello
    Thank you for sharing this work, I'm handling also myself on mine same engine with a leak on injector 3.
    I've seen your videos about dismantling the engine, and i would like to ask if is it possible to remove the air inlet cover (i want to change the valves gasket) without removing the injectors?
    Thank you in advance

    • @rustoil

      Hi. Why do you want to change valve gaskets? What do you mean by that? Valve cover gasket maybe? It doesnt tend to leak.

    • @pedrojbrites
      @pedrojbrites 12 дней назад

      @rustoil well, frankly it's an supposition, don't know if this defective injector also created carbon under it.

    • @rustoil
      @rustoil  12 дней назад

      Well, if its carbon, like tar, then its due to leaking injector seal for sure. And to answer you first question: no, its not possible to remove intake manifold without removing injectors...

      @@rustoil ah so bad 😀 ok thank you, I was trying not to remove myself the injectors, I believe that #3 it will be hard to move. Was willing only remove the intake manifold for a good clean and change that gasket. Thanks once again for your support 👍 happy 2025

    My problem is that the motor has locked up, will a faulty injector do this? There is a white foam that smells a little like Diesel fuel in the overflow tank.

    Hi,
    Thank you for the excellent video. i would like to ask if you have ever dismantled one of these type injectors to clean them? I done a leak off test on my injectors a while ago and my mechanic said that fuel was too much coming out of leak off pipes. would you know what he rate of fuel should be leaking off from pipes?
    Thank you

      Hi. Thanks for your comment. I havent disassembled any injector yet. If they leak too much, look for replacement valves on ebay or aliexpress, there are usable alternatives as long as I know.

    The fastener must have been too tight! Tighten it to 7 nm and then 55 degrees (that's 7 clicks on my torque wrench). That's remarkebly untight, so the danger of tightening them too much is real!

    • @rustoil

      Yes, I have mentioned required torque and additional angle for tightening.
