Thanks Tom! Will attempt this in my Peugeot 2.0 diesel as I've noticed smoke coming out. There was a small puddle of oil around the top of two of the injectors.
Thanks Tom, the link to the cleaning kit is very important, I diy the 4 injectors for the first time, on the 8 valve 1.6 tdci Ford DV6C, and cleaning the bore is essential, I think. After pulling out the injectors, there was crud in the bore.Everything worked out just fine, the injectors I pulled them out by hand, after 240 k kilometers, they did need programming, but hey, that's just fine. Well done !
do you have to reprogramme the injectors if they are the original injectors? even if they go back in the original locations they were pulled from? last diesel i DIY'ed was a 2007 Vaux veccy :)
Only on RUclips channels injectors go easilly out with moving a bit with fingers while in reality total other story so peoples be aware what you watching because many here just insert them after they already are pulled and then they record videos how it is easy !! if that was so easy tools for remove injectors would not exists and costs hundreds of euros
I was very lucky with these, none seized and I filmed the genuine removal. I've had success removing seized ones with a 13mm spanner on the injector feed nut twisting the injector in the port whilst pulling up by hand. If that doesn't work, slide hammer away!
@@ToolTimeWithTom i am very unlucky because seems that previous owner never changed seals so seems i will must remove all upper cover of engine because its not possible to remove injectors without broke them
If there is a leaking, should go super easy. If you need to repair injectors and there is no leaking, than I wish You all the luck! You'r gonna need it...
You make it look so straight forward. If I felt I couldn't manage it myself, what's the expected price from a garage on this repair? (all 4 seals)? I'm getting a fumey smell in the cabin when I turn the fans on and the engine's got a noticable regular tapping. When cold outside, I see an occasional whisp of smoke/gasses sneaking out from under the upper bonnet. I assume my seals need replacing.
Hi, great video thanks for the upload. My leak off pipe connectors seem to be sitting very loosely, I see your using a spanner to tap yours in gently. Is this common when changing the little green O-rings as mine don't seem to want to connect at all? TIA
Hi, at 11:12 I've seen that you already put the injector seals on the injector and you put the injector in the hole while the seals are on it! Is that correct way to do? I have seen in other videos that first the seals are placed at their location and after that the injectors are mounted!
You can do it either way, it doesn't really matter, I found it easier to mount the seal on the injector and drop it in together because then you're not having to line the seal up with the injector hole in the head
What were the symptoms of this i have a nemo 1.3 hdi and it hunts at idle for a minute or so and sometimes takes a long time to fire up like a long crank situation 😎
Great clear video, thank you. What about depressurizing the high pressure fuel lines. Can I assume(don`t like this word 😆) that once the car is switch off, the pressure in the fuel lines subside ??
Never safe to assume anything!😂 On petrol cars sometimes I remove the fuel pump fuse and crank it over to relieve the pressure, something similar would work on diesel I assume. Either that or release the fitting very slowly with appropriate PPE on at your own risk
You'll need a priming bulb, I can't remember if I showed it in this video, put the bulb between the filter housing and the line for the injectors. You'll need this to pull the fuel through the filter.
Thank you so much.Great teaching video. I asked a garage for the price of the labor: £300! Another one was guessing this can get really nasty. I have one leaking in exactly same place (No 2) for my Focus TDCI 2010.I wanted to give this to a guy that has done this before but I cant afford to pay the kind of money they ask..I will try to clean the one which is leaking..If it goes well I do the rest. If not I just leave it. Also I was just to replace the o-ring on the returns (the seal is cheap) .Can this help? Thanks again.
It won't be the return causing the carbon build up, will be the copper washer at the bottom. The worse the leak is the harder the injector is to remove.
the black oil seals is where i always have an issue done this job 3 times and the oil / diesel always leaks past the seal and fills up the well on two different carrs aswell so annoying having another attempt at solving my oil leaks been a few years and the mess is horrendous, if it leaks again im thinking intake manifold seals because ive never done those they look like a pig of a job
@@ToolTimeWithTom yeah done them they don’t stop it cleaned the injector wells spotless aswell. apparently the high pressure fuel lines are single use maybe it’s leaking fuel from them they are very slightly oily on top of the injectors but barely who knows I give up now

Good luck, I hope it works out for you! Could try turning the injector in the port as I mentioned above, that's helped in the past
i have too less space for serious maneuvre so taking behind of injectors that cover will give me more space for wrench @@ToolTimeWithTom

They normally need a little tap but use a little bit of oil on the o-rings otherwise they'll tear
@@ToolTimeWithTom thanks 👍, used your method, worked out.
Glad to hear it!
Thanks Tom. How many hours it toke you to perform that?
I think this was about 60-90 minutes if you're going at an easy pace. If the injectors are stuck in the head it will certainly take longer!

Great video. Thank you!
Can I ask where you bought your injector hole cleaning kit please Thank you
I think I linked it in the description, let me know if the link is dead
@ Bought one now mate Thanks
Can I also do the same process with my 2016 ford ranger 2.2 diesel as it also has the same problem?
Thank you sir!
Thanks great video
How much is torq on bolts nm in injectors?
What were the symptoms of this i have a nemo 1.3 hdi and it hunts at idle for a minute or so and sometimes takes a long time to fire up like a long crank situation 😎
It's possible, best thing to do is have a look around the injectors for any diesel or sooty carbon build up

@@ToolTimeWithTom Thx Tom. Will try your advise. Forgot to mention it is a 1.6 TDCi Fiesta
The link for the injector seal kit is gone, angbody have a link?
It was a generic kit from eBay, there's quite a few on there, should be quite easy to source
Please tell me you live near Northamptonshire, I really need my injectors doing on my Alfa? Could you please let me know ?
Hi Tom,
Does a leaking seal cause lots of black smoke from exaust when engine is revved up?
I'd more expect a leaking or faulty injector rather than the seals
you didnt set the black seal first in the body and then put the injector. how do you know that the black seal is in its place
It should sit flush, the injector and bracket can spin until it sits on the studs, you can tap the seal into place or press it in by hand
its important to change the seals as it can cause loss of power on tdci engines

Dose it work same way on 1.3hdi
Yes, should be similar
Why so poor? I had 7 cars in my life lucky never had one injector problem. I was quite shocked to watch this video. PSA need to fix this awful issue.
They get a lot worse than this! PSA design is very poor, you should have seen the last one I did!
PPE?...
Good
Carb cleaner better for carbon deposits...brake cleaner not as good :)
