- Hi there, today I'm doing a Sony a7iv vs a7riv comparison and at the same time I'll talk about 21 things that Sony a7iv does better than a7riv. From processor to autofocus to body to video specs, there are a lot of features that make a7iv a better go-to hybrid camera for film enthusiasts.

Hey guys, I'm pleased to share that we're growing channel. Hope you're finding my videos helpful👍
Only thing it does better is the video and the menu system. Everything else, the A7RIV does better. You can create another composition in a composition.
With the A7RIV, you have 2 focal lengths when using a prime. A 24mm can also be a 36mm, a 85mm can be a 127mm, without losing any quality.
Also, the tilt screen is better when shooting with a handle of the left side, when using long lenses or when doing street photography (as a tilt screen is more discreet).
The photo fps of the A7RIV is better as well, it is not handicapped like the A7IV at 8 fps (photo).
I have used both in wildlife photograph and the AF is the same in real world use. The saving grace is that the high res of the A7RIV allows you to recompose your shots.
Also, the A7RIV can use the fake S-Cinetone.
A7RIV EVF and screen is also much better.
IMO, if you need the 422 10bit for video, I'd go with the A7IV or save up a few more for an A7SIII.
If you need a good photo camera and some video. The A7RIV is plenty good.

I have used A7Riv and Riii and Rii, the quality of 61mp sensor is unlikely to be compromised with the current breed of Sony lenses, I have also used simga primes and zooms lenses, tamron zooms lenses. As for pricing they are about the same right now. A7RIV is a camera more dedicated to photography and A7IV is more of something smack right in the middle between a dedicated video camera and photo centric camera.

Why i just balled up on 2 A7R IVA's one for 2100 shipped new open box zero shutter count , one brand new for 2500 shipped in december 2022 just few weeks ago. Is that not a good deal haha. So wasnt expensive to me in comparison to A7 iv .

Speaking as an A7rI V owner, the advantage of the higher sensor was a great asset until about a year or two ago. The advances in photo editing tools like Topaz has largely negated those advantages in all but the more extreme situations or where the situation is so voltile one needs the room to crop. I still love my camera but in today's market, I'd have to go with the A7 IV even being a heavy stills photog. Both are great systems - have fun with them!

I eliminated the Sony A7 IV from the selection because of the flip-up display. I own a Sony A7R IV A and a Sony A7R III ... I wouldn't change. In the future, I always prefer the resolution of the sensor.

Definitely Diego. Sony A7IV is a good options as it offers continuous shooting of 10 fps and has head/face/eye detection. Do you also have any other camera in mind?
Good video! I am more on the photography side and dont do video now though it may be nice to do casually on trips. I can get either camera for the same price but am leaning towards a7iv.....any advice?
Hi Doc, both are great cameras. However, new tech always has an edge over the old, so I would suggest you to go with Sony A7IV.☺️

Hi there. I like the way you made the video. You made everything very clear. However, you made some mistakes as well. A7iv doesn't have a USB Type-A port. A7iv cannot record 600 MPS video. Et cetera.

@@camerathencoffee Oh, you must be in America. I found they 600 mbps when you shoot 60p4k. I’m in Australia, and I don’t have 60p option. I can only choose 50p with PAL mode. Anyway, my apologies. All the best, mate~

the articulating screen a HUGE minus for many photographer who are not interested in selfies
Until you want to shoot low in vertical.. the half a second difference to pull the screen out is outweighed by the versatility.
@@mrwashur1991 never been in that “position” . For that rare moment I can use my body to get that shot. May cameras btw have a screen flipping both ways.

I have the Sony A7RIV and A7RIVA, I will not have less than 61 megapixels sensor (rather more) and I will not have less than 5.8 mega dots EVF, more likely 9.5 or more ! I NEVER do video, so I do NOT care about ANY video functions and I NEVER will ! I wish all video functions could be shut OFF and hide away from the menus !!! I wish that Sony will make the R-series completely still photography only.

@@camerathencoffee I have worked with MANY Cameras for several decades, the best 35mm analog Cameras, the best analog medium format Cameras and 4"x5" and 5"x7" Cameras, today the Sony A7RIV are the best Camera for me.

@@camerathencoffee I shoot most nature, often Macro photography, but also animals, birds, flowers, Landscape. Sometimes I do "street" photography with or without people. But generally I shoot "everything".

You're very biased and you probably don't know much about photography. You're just comparing data from paper, but the real experience is a bit different. But the main thing is you've got a following, right? :D .
