Trade in Canon and get Sony. It’s obvious that Sony will always be ahead technology wise just like focus breathing compensation which no one has or even thought possible. Sony has innovative thinking.
I have never accidentally changed exposure compensation by 'knocking' the dial, so imo the lock is unnecessary. Also I like having a dedicated dial that I can glance at to see if I need to adjust the compensation.
@David Palmer: When you're shooting two cameras (events, weddings, etc), the EC dial on the unused one hanging at your side will get knocked. It's not just a Sony thing either.
@@tebscat 100% it was the bane of my existence rocking two cameras shooting sports. It got to the point I'd check the exposure compensation every time I picked it up!
Ain't gonna lie that breathing comp is clutch. Wouldn't be surprised if it doesn't even make it into the a7siii because it's only 12mp and not enough res to crop in and out...
Did you have a chance to check the reliability of the eye focus (not if the camera detects the eye - if the focus is indeed on the iris or front focus to eye lashes / brows)?
IS is a very personal thing. The IS control loop includes the photographer and the designer cannot possibly design for every photographer. So they have to design for the 'average' camera handler, which depends on the mathematical and mechanical models the designer chooses to use. In recent years this is the CIBA model and that does not agree with a lot of real people, and we see impressive stop number inflation that people do not experience in person. Hopefully this does not turn into the same sort of thing that has been seen in the "designed for test" fuel economy "improvements" in cars. In the end, whether a "designed for CIBA tests" IS is good for someone only that someone can decide after personal testing. If it does not work for you, tough luck as in the future we will only have this type of IS.
I have seen a lot of reviews comparing the A7IV to the A7III and it seems like no one ever noticed that the embedded jpeg in the RAW file is now full resolution. This is an important thing to include when comparing them because it means a lot of AI culling programs will work a lot better with A7IV raws than they did with A7III raws.
How about test shots of the Sony a7iv 4k crop 60fps with Sony 16-55 f2.8 lens? The new Tamron aps-c Zoom lenses and the Sigma new aps-c Zoom lenses. Also, do several similar tests with Fuji aps-c prime lenses for Sony e-mount: Fuji 16mm f1.4; Sigma 19mm f/2.8; Sigma 30mm f/1.4; Sigma 56mm f/1.4.
As somebody who has done the embargo countdown a few times... not only will Sony be pissed, but the other creators will be as well. Popcorn out to see if they're here for the next embargo...
Sony doesn't care. They are a multi-billion dollar corporation, all they care is that people buy the stuff, that's it. They want eyeballs looking at the videos then going out and buying their stuff. Tony's video came out yesterday and this one still has almost 50,000 views, only a handful of people got more views. I mean Sony literally leaked everything the camera had the day before anyway. LOL
are the crops at the end, around 8:35, labeled backwards? Like, because the A7 III crops look significantly better despite having a significant linear resolution disadvantage
Tony and Chelsea this is another great review. Now I have a big dillema. Do I go for the original A9 OR A7IV for running dog photography? A9 has 20FPS BUT A7IV has more resolution for larger prints. NOT sure how autofocus compares between those two. Which one would you get as paid dog photographer?
A9 definitely.the only reason to choose a7iv over the a9 is the video aspect,a9 is lack of PP but if you dont color grade or even dont do video, then a9 will be a better choice.24mp vs 33mp isnt that difference, almost unnoticeable.but the AF and fps of a9 is just way ahead of a7iv.they say it (a7iv) has the same autofocus system as a1 but it’s not,it just has the same phase detection number.but the AF/AE calculation is nowhere near a9,let alone a1.(a7iii is 20 calculation per second,a9 is 60 calculation/s and a1 is 120 calculation/s) it might improve a bit from a7iii but still doesnt even close to a9.
@@rizatamin thank you for your comment🙌 As I’m not interested in video I think I will go for A9 and with time get another body with higher resolution. I like to have 2 different lenses on the shoot anyway 😆😀
We are looking forward to seeing the comparison between a7RIII and a7IV in term of Dynamic Range. I think this will answer if A7RIII owner should swap to A7IV. So far, the only thing we can see is just the megapixels, the thing that we gonna lose if swap to a7IV.
I second this. Currently I have an A7Riii and an A99ii and I am looking to sell out of A mount (even though it means losing my Zeiss 135mm f/1.8) and going all E mount and I am considering a second A7Riii or an A7iv. Or for a bit more an A7Riv.
Tony how do you feel it compares to your A7R4 for a general hobbyist doing landscapes and family stuff? I can get price pretty close (A7r4a) and on paper disappointed by the rear screen and EVF of the A7iv but new menus and controls tempting.
Tony need help looking t a Cannon R5 vs the Sony A7 IV. R5 great except for overheating and soon to be replaced supposedly this year. Sony would be a little cheaper and pretty comparable, which would you suggest. Looking for video, street photography an amateur bird and wildlife. Not a professional
This camera is quite disappointing. It seems Sony is now just playing catch up with Canon with some features (like touch menus) being about 4 years too late. They still seem to be crippling their LCDs with lower resolution screens, and crippling burst rates and stabilization.
I would be extremely interested to see what happens when you use your a7IV with breathing compensation turned on using the Sony G 200-600mm lens. does it correct the problem that the G telephoto has when shooting at close focusing distances? You mentioned using extension tubes to compensate in your review of the lens, but could this feature cure that? This would be very useful for my wildlife needs if so. Could you do a video on the breathing correction and use this lens in it?
I have the Sony a7III and actually prefer the tilt screen being that I do stills vs video. I do like the 33MP of the new a7IV, but I’ll wait a bit and see if the price drops. That or save more $$$ and get the a1.
Which camera do you suggest for beginners who want to take good pictures and video both …and which is best for taking pictures of hotels & Airbnb’s…out of A7 III/ A7 IV
How about Astro and Milky Way (I know this it is not the season Feb 01 or 31, 2022 @ 4:51 [ new moons at the beginning and end of most every month in 2022]), I started with the A7s and found later it was great for MW's but then came the A7iii that was said to be the same if not better and it has a "Night" creative style that helps with lowering the blue sky with sky glow areas along with Bright Monitoring (Mark 2 cameras and up). And believing 12MP to 22MP would be better well proved it but now 33MP is ???. The articulating screen is handy for screen protection when not in use but if you are doing panos is great in portrait view able to see the screen properly instead of bending and squinting for your next spot on the M3 (love it on the A7Siii) of course finally got a clicking stepper on bottom of pano gear before the Siii. But also does the A7iv have duo ISO noise points of low noise like the A7siii?
I connected the HDMI port from my Sony A7 IV to a 4K TV, i see it well, everything all ok. But if I shoot myself eg. Vlog I have everything reversed on the TV screen. This it a big problem for me. I have to discover out how the 'mirror' + 'reverse' mode so that i can see the movements in the correct direction on the TV.
How does this compare with the Canon R6? If you are primarily a wildlife photographer, which camera would you buy R6 or the AIV? What if you are bit of hybrid photographer and you need some video?
I really liked your AF total shots/sharp shots test. How would you say it fares compared to a7R IV? I am sure that there will be a different video on that, but roguhly? Is there a point buying r IV anymore if you do not need that resolution?

This was a pretty quick hit comparison for you guys. Surprising, considering the game changer the A7iii was. No comments about the terrible tracking as Chelsea walked toward the camera!? How about the seemingly loud clackity-clack of the shutter? Compared to A7iii? A9ii? A1? Do you even read any of these comments/questions anymore ?
Is teleconverter worth to spend money on now? Earlier Tony said TC gave worse result compare to cropping. Is that only true for some lenses, cameras or combinations? If im not mistaken he said that about the Sony 200-600/5,6-6,3.
How is this camera for birds in flight? I have the A9II but shoot maybe 5% birds in flight compared to 95% stills. I found that the A9II has worst image quality compared to my previous A7III for still shots (especially visible with higher ISOs > 6,400) hence am thinking of downgrading to the A7IV for its greater megapixel count which would allow me to crop more.
Hi I have the A7IV with the tamron 28-75 and I find the focus point super laggy when I burst shoot The focus point follow the subject when I don't shoot but once it's starting shooting, it doesn't follow at all and It's always a little behind. Anyone else noticed this?
Hello, I'm looking into the Sony A7 iii and the A7 iV. Is it worth the extra €900 euro if the main idea is to shoot newborn portrets ? The video capabilities are less important. The main goal is to do photography with a lot of portrait and some landscape now and then. Are the extra megapixels a huge gain in this ? Thank you for your time and I hope to get an answer on my question.
I don't think the difference in megapixels is that big of a deal, definitely harder to edit & store though. The new menus & improved autofocusing are big upgrades. Screen can be annoying for high/low angle photography. If you rarely use evf then a7C might be a good pick.

iF you read me there is no need to upgrade from a7III to this , and if you wanna buy it , iwould advice to choose a7 III with a great prime lens over putting so much on a "bit evolved that nobody will see the difference" a7 IV
Yeah not impressed with this generation. Maybe we had too many expectations... 4k cropped, 5-6fps, low resolution screen, worse stabilization. $500 more expensive. A7iii still good 👍
Thank you for this video, So what i take from this: the Sony A7III is still an amazing camera, unless you have one of the following issues, you really shouldnt switch: - you like to work with an improved touch screen (here i am missing the screen quality comparisson in the video, but spoiler: there isnt much difference at all) - you already have very good lenses and you already hit the boundaries of the a7iii in animal or sport fotography, but here, why not go for the A7RIII instead? - you shoot a lot of videos and you benefit from the better autofocus I kinda think that canabalizing products is bad, but in case of sony, they really could have made the a7IV stand out more in comparrisson to its A7RIII rival
I have the a7r3 and the eye af kinda sucks tbh. I am a self portrait shooter and I lose a ton of photos because of the af. For me, the improved eye af seems like a game changer
...can I have one of each? I'm attracted by the screen and menu enhancements, but I take low light landscape photos, and it looks like the A7III wins at that.
Tony I need you to make a nerdy video about why the higher MP doesn't show more detail and sometimes even less detail. Atmospheric effects and a poor lens aside I can't wrap my brain around this one.
@M Tech I think you're wrong. It's a 37.5% increase, that's significant and should be noticeable. Look at T&C's video comparing the a7iii to the eos R, where the resolution difference is an advantage for the Canon. You can also see it on dpreview's image comparison. Watch any video about how resolution affects the print sizes you can make. If you think high-MP cameras are over-hyped that's fine, but in the extreme cases like presented in this video, I don't understand why the difference wouldn't be more cut and dry.
You wont get more detail from a 33MP sensor if the lens aren't good enough or the atmospheric effects are bad enough. You should never get worse detail with the higher MP sensor though, unless conditions are changing and then the comparison is worthless anyway.
@@frstesiste7670 I agree with you, but the pictures were taken with the 16-35 GM which should be plenty sharp, and looks like they were taken right after one another. This is why I'm confused and made the comment! ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

How about encryption? When you first get the camera you set-up a public/private key pair and save your decryption key on your pc / smartphone app etc.. so you can easily decrypt your files are you ingest them but anyone else the camera would be useless (they could even offer a cloud backup for your key as you register your camera on purchase). Selling, simply hand over the private key and allow the new user to generate their own new key. This way you're offering zero impact to the usability of the camera, there's no delay turning it on, no having to punch in a pin, wait for a finger print / face sensor, so you'll never miss a shot or be inconvenienced and the whole thing can be done via a firmware update for existing cameras. Doesn't have to be forced, if you don't want to turn it on, up to you, but enough will and that'll be enough to make cameras not worth stealing.
Thanks for the review. The A7iii tracking focus was terrible (dots jumping everywhere). Is the a7iv like the a9ii with tracking (small green box that sticks)? Thanks
Thank you for the review!! I am really interested in how the camera handles the stripe issue that the a7III suffers from in some lightings especially shooting towards the light. What can you say about that?
@@jumpydesign & Chris, no that was sensor thing for stills photo. It was discovered when the A7 III was released, the (first) example picture was from Sony's press event where they allowed RUclipsrs / journalists to shoot a human couple with the A7 III. One of the journalists published his problem photo. I still remember that scene. Just would need to dig out a link. Or, you probably can google it 🙂 It was reported widely (dpreview, fstoppers, petapixel?) Looked like pixel level striping problems, i.e. caused by phase detect pixel rows or columns.
Happy Holiday Folks, Question.... I use the Sony a7III for talking head and training videos at work. One thing that drives me crazy is, when I attach a monitor to the camera and I'm shooting in 4k, I lose face auto detect. Has the a7IV corrected this?
The whole video feels like an ad, tbh. It's just "oh look at this old camera, it's nothing compared to this new and improved version". Dude this is not a real comparison, tbh. Go to Gerald Undone channel, that dude will definitely be objective and give a better comparison.
If your idea of sports is someone walking towards the camera, the A7iv is for you. Should that person be running, the hit rate would drop to 70% with flexible spot at 6 FPS, or 30 % with eye detect at 8 FPS. All this with tracking working perfectly in the EVF.
How does this one compare to the A7Riii? I have a Riii (love it) for my main body and Rii (never used) for my backup. I'm looking to upgrade my backup Rii. Would you consider the 7iv an upgrade from the Riii? This way, I could just use my Riii for a backup and make the new one my main. One HUGE reason for the backup upgrade is the Rii doesn't teather to my computer, which I use a lot in studio.
I recently bought the a7iv and i see the body mirror is not stable, it is totally shaking. Is it common in this model? or it is a damaged piece…? i am totally confused
Very nice review, Tony & Chelsea. I can tell right off the bat you are extremely knowledgeable on the information. I have the A7SIII as well as the A7C. I use the A7SIII for shooting my videos and then the A7C is used for my thumbnails as well as recreational photography. I am deciding whether it is worth it to upgrade my A7C to the A7IV -- it will be used primarily for photography. Though I do not see the A7IV being a good video substitute for my A7SIII as it looks like the A7SIII remains video king -- especially when shooting 4K.
What suggestion do you have for the hot shoe mount. I have a Good V1 flash and only used it twice because it broke at the hot shoe mount. The corresponding flash transmitter is also very hard to get one and off the camera. I think the plastic mounts are terrible, so trying to see if you guys have run across this issue and have a recommendation.
It's incredible that no-one cares anymore about the EVF, they haven't even mention it. It sucks on the A7iii and I hate this camera for this reason. For me is one of the most important aspects in a mirrorless.

Trade in Canon and get Sony. It’s obvious that Sony will always be ahead technology wise just like focus breathing compensation which no one has or even thought possible. Sony has innovative thinking.
If they are so close that you can't make up your mind, what does it really matter what you choose?
I honestly would make that choice entirely based on lenses. The bodies are very close, but in terms of glass you've got two very different approaches.
are you heavily invested in RF lenses or just got a kit?
I am definitely getting a 7R IV off Amazon and starting a new hobby
I have never accidentally changed exposure compensation by 'knocking' the dial, so imo the lock is unnecessary. Also I like having a dedicated dial that I can glance at to see if I need to adjust the compensation.
You're right! This is very important!
I think you can reprogram to shutter speed. Useful for those shooting video. You can lock the shutter speed and forget it.
get a white Sharpie
@David Palmer: When you're shooting two cameras (events, weddings, etc), the EC dial on the unused one hanging at your side will get knocked. It's not just a Sony thing either.
@@tebscat 100% it was the bane of my existence rocking two cameras shooting sports. It got to the point I'd check the exposure compensation every time I picked it up!
Ain't gonna lie that breathing comp is clutch. Wouldn't be surprised if it doesn't even make it into the a7siii because it's only 12mp and not enough res to crop in and out...
ouch good point about resolution, I was hoping it would come in next firmware to A1/a7S3/FX3
Great video 👍 and finally flip screen... 💃💃💃 does it use the same battery 🔋?
yep same big battery as a7iii
I have seen a lot of reviews comparing the A7IV to the A7III and it seems like no one ever noticed that the embedded jpeg in the RAW file is now full resolution. This is an important thing to include when comparing them because it means a lot of AI culling programs will work a lot better with A7IV raws than they did with A7III raws.
Can you put in your descriptions what camera you guys used to film each particular video?
How about test shots of the Sony a7iv 4k crop 60fps with Sony 16-55 f2.8 lens? The new Tamron aps-c Zoom lenses and the Sigma new aps-c Zoom lenses. Also, do several similar tests with Fuji aps-c prime lenses for Sony e-mount: Fuji 16mm f1.4; Sigma 19mm f/2.8; Sigma 30mm f/1.4; Sigma 56mm f/1.4.
Wait. Are you guys at Harkness Park in Connecticut?
As somebody who has done the embargo countdown a few times... not only will Sony be pissed, but the other creators will be as well. Popcorn out to see if they're here for the next embargo...
Why what happened?
If that’s not the gmphotography from fredmiranda forum I’ll cut my head....
@@ARlELATOM They were under NDA by Sony. They uploaded the video a day early which is a big no no.
LOL
Mistake happens. Not a big deal really.
5:27 you say the A7IV had 40% more sharp shots, shouldn't that be 60% more give or take?
are the crops at the end, around 8:35, labeled backwards?
Soooooo a marginal photo upgrade to the A7iii?
You are joking
I'd like to see camera manufacturers come out with a wireless detachable screen. Are there any?
yes I think it's called something MARS ?
hello, is the a7iv good for birds in flight photography? im also looking for good low light conditions as well.
That or save more $$$ and get the a1.
yea the new selfie screen is annoying if you do a lot of high/low shots, even for video
As a still photographer how does the A74 compare to the AR3A which seems to be about the same price or close to the same price.
i come from the future i watched this yesterday
Same. But the title has changed. They called it the baby Sony a1
@@luiscordoba3247 yup... that alone made me super hyped.
Lol yeah I think they unfortunately released it pre embargo
Which camera do you suggest for beginners who want to take good pictures and video both …and which is best for taking pictures of hotels & Airbnb’s…out of A7 III/ A7 IV
if it would had 4k60 without CROP it would be great. I don‘t care for 33MP I want 4k60 Full Frame
100%-I don't want to be changing lenses to get similar shots in slow motion :(
only a7S3 & FX3 make unhindered 4k60 correct?
Love Sony as a company. I have been using the Sony a7II for several years and love the photos it produces in portraits, sports and wildlife.
I still cannot decide between the A7 IV and A7R IV. How much better is the AF on the A7 IV over the R?
I really liked your AF total shots/sharp shots test. How would you say it fares compared to a7R IV? I am sure that there will be a different video on that, but roguhly? Is there a point buying r IV anymore if you do not need that resolution?
Can't believe you left the sensor exposed so long. Can you say sensor dust?
Hello sir I want to buy sony a7iv body and like to use canon EF lenses using adapter so in this case does the camera works perfectly like autofocus and IBIS ?
Actually Sony a7iii auto focus works really good, Tony's hand was shaking that lead the camera misleading in focus.
I tend to agree with you as an A7III user
@@Glasairman agree a7iii photo AF is topnotch, but video AF is lacking some things
@@mirrorlessny hmmmm, I had only praise fit IT when doing a boat Trip with 30 mins Video using a Samyang 14mm AF recently.
Would you recommend this camera for video?
I would, just keep in mind the limitations like 4k60 crop, 1080p quality & rolling shutter.
With uncompressed raw the speed decreases from 10 to 6 or 5. You can only shoot 10 fps in jpg or compressed raw with the A7IV. 😉
Exactly. I wouldve thought this "small detail" wouldve been important to mention in a REVIEW of a camera.
Compressed lossy raw works just fine. People nitpicking some barely noticeable artifacts happening once in a blue moon. Just put it to rest already.
@@ElementaryWatson-123 Still worth a mention.
@@ElementaryWatson-123 Sure...compressed raw works fine but uncompressed raw works better.
@@ElementaryWatson-123 well the Canon R6 is 12 fps for a mechanical shutter and 20 fps for electronic. And all of it is 12-bit uncompressed raw. The a74 is almost the same as the a73
What I want to know is how the e-shutter does in artificial light.
bad
It'll have banding due to the slow sensor readout. 1/15 according to DPReview.
@@gemini-mg6sc Well, possibly. I'd rather have that tested and verified though.
Is it recommendable to adapt sigma 24-70 lens A mount to Sony a7R camera with E mount?
So that means it's therefore not a "must" upgrade over the a7c then
How is this camera for birds in flight? I have the A9II but shoot maybe 5% birds in flight compared to 95% stills. I found that the A9II has worst image quality compared to my previous A7III for still shots (especially visible with higher ISOs > 6,400) hence am thinking of downgrading to the A7IV for its greater megapixel count which would allow me to crop more.
Hi I have the A7IV with the tamron 28-75 and I find the focus point super laggy when I burst shoot
The focus point follow the subject when I don't shoot but once it's starting shooting, it doesn't follow at all and It's always a little behind.
Anyone else noticed this?
try changing to faster AF settings (somewhere in menu) also check lens/body firmware (be careful/follow instructions)
Hello,
I'm looking into the Sony A7 iii and the A7 iV.
@@mirrorlessny thank you for the answer ! But is the A7C not a camera used mainly for video ? We are less interested in video and more in photography. Or am I wrong ?
Im having doubts between eos R6/sony A7IV/ Sony A7III
@@maximlenaerts1055 a7c is like a7iii but with improved af, selfie screen & smaller evf, it's also lighter=great for travel/portability. R6 a7iv a7iii a7c Panasonic S5 = all will do well with portraits
Tony & Chelsea,
If money is not a major factor which would you recommend for all around camera ( Sports, wildlife, family and landscapes on vacation) Sony A7iv, A9-2, or A1? And why?
iF you read me there is no need to upgrade from a7III to this , and if you wanna buy it , iwould advice to choose a7 III with a great prime lens over putting so much on a "bit evolved that nobody will see the difference" a7 IV
Yeah not impressed with this generation. Maybe we had too many expectations... 4k cropped, 5-6fps, low resolution screen, worse stabilization. $500 more expensive. A7iii still good 👍
Thank you for this video,
So what i take from this: the Sony A7III is still an amazing camera, unless you have one of the following issues, you really shouldnt switch:
- you like to work with an improved touch screen (here i am missing the screen quality comparisson in the video, but spoiler: there isnt much difference at all)
- you already have very good lenses and you already hit the boundaries of the a7iii in animal or sport fotography, but here, why not go for the A7RIII instead?
- you shoot a lot of videos and you benefit from the better autofocus
I kinda think that canabalizing products is bad, but in case of sony, they really could have made the a7IV stand out more in comparrisson to its A7RIII rival
I have the a7r3 and the eye af kinda sucks tbh. I am a self portrait shooter and I lose a ton of photos because of the af. For me, the improved eye af seems like a game changer
I currently have the A7III; would it not be wise to get the A6700 since its autofocus is much faster?
The way they hold the cameras exposed to the air annoyed me😂
It is not an issue, they aren't in a sand storm you know
A7iv closes sensor when lens is taken off
@@Chris-ey7zy Perhaps only if turned off and they were turned on? That definitely looked like an exposed sensor
They do that specifically to make _you_ nuts!
@@Mamo878 yes they do. Like how they hold that super big lenses
...can I have one of each? I'm attracted by the screen and menu enhancements, but I take low light landscape photos, and it looks like the A7III wins at that.
Can the A7IV be in tracking small flexible spot with animal eye af? My A7RIV seem to not be able to!
You should also include list of equipment i.e. lenses etc you used in the description
@M Tech I think I would notice it in a print so I guess we'll have to agree to disagree.
@@frstesiste7670 I agree with you, but the pictures were taken with the 16-35 GM which should be plenty sharp, and looks like they were taken right after one another. This is why I'm confused and made the comment! ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
@M Tech - Problem with bad printers we are currently having.
nice ... for wildlife , do you suggest A7 IV or A1 ?? ... ignoring the price point
Is the A7R III still great camera? I am a amateur photographer who enjoys shooting landscaping, can you give you an idea which one should I buy. A7R III or A7iii?. I am going to pair up with FE 16-35 MM 2.8 G LENS.
Stripe? Sounds more like lens issue
Banding in video? This has variable shutter same as A1.
Or, you probably can google it 🙂 It was reported widely (dpreview, fstoppers, petapixel?)
Looked like pixel level striping problems, i.e. caused by phase detect pixel rows or columns.
@@tubularificationed so it would definitely not exist in this model as its a new sensor.
I think there was a software fix for the striping.
Does it have a curtain to protect the sensor… think this was one of your main pet peeves about dust in the sensor
Tony and Chelsea! Compare it to the Panasonic S5 please! I would love to see a comparison of those but I didn't see nearly any on RUclips.
Happy Holiday Folks, Question.... I use the Sony a7III for talking head and training videos at work. One thing that drives me crazy is, when I attach a monitor to the camera and I'm shooting in 4k, I lose face auto detect. Has the a7IV corrected this?
What about the electronic shutter? How many frames does it do? what about the Rolling shutter control?
The whole video feels like an ad, tbh. It's just "oh look at this old camera, it's nothing compared to this new and improved version". Dude this is not a real comparison, tbh. Go to Gerald Undone channel, that dude will definitely be objective and give a better comparison.
If your idea of sports is someone walking towards the camera, the A7iv is for you. Should that person be running, the hit rate would drop to 70% with flexible spot at 6 FPS, or 30 % with eye detect at 8 FPS. All this with tracking working perfectly in the EVF.
Should I sell my a6500 and sigma trio and make the leap to the full sensor world, a7iv??
8:36 - why do the text/lines look thicker for the a74? Adobe raw convertor?
The surprise was yesterday when the video was leaked.
And this video was recorded with which camera?
Not for me with only 3.7Mp EVF. I am used to 5.8Mp EVF so I will not go back, but forward to 9.5+Mp EVF !
It's incredible that no-one cares anymore about the EVF, they haven't even mention it.
It sucks on the A7iii and I hate this camera for this reason.
For me is one of the most important aspects in a mirrorless.
thanks for the info. i have an older dslr but want to upgrade to a full-frame mirrorless camera. i’ve been holding out for this one’s release. one of my problems with the smaller camera bodies, though, are the not-so-great viewfinders. how’s the viewfinder quality on the a7iv?
upgrade with a7 IV if you need video 4K 422 10 bit. If you have no need this specification you can upgrade your dslr with Sony a7 III
Hi, Between A7 IV and A7R IV which one has speedier autofocus acquisition and better tracking and by how much. please help me to make the buying decision, I feel if the AF performance is equal or close then going for higher resolution is better.
