The Sony a7III was my introduction to mirrorless cameras and I’ve not looked back. Having just bought the Sonya7IV, I am very happy with its bird AF and tracking. Thank you for the vlog!
I would absolutely love to see that one. I'm shooting the 200-600 on my A7 III and A7 R III and I'm thinking about upgrading to the Sigma 500 f4 Sports with the MC11. How does the adapted Sigma lens hold up with BIF in comparisson to the Sony lens? Thanks a Lot :))
Something else to consider is the A6700 now that it's readily available. I used to shoot with the A7iii and ended up having to decide between the two. As mainly a bird shooter the A6700 gives me 900mm at the long end of the 200-600. After watching quite a few comparison videos it really doesn't suffer much being an APSC over the a7iv full frame sensor. The sensor's new, it's got the latest autofocus system with the AI chip, shoots 11 frames ps and it's a good chunk of cash cheaper. Overall I'm happy with it.
Awesome video and a beautiful selection of images. You're blessed with a beautiful country. Sweden is a hidden gem to us Brits. The first time we visited, I was blown away by the air quality as we left the plane. A 3 hour drive, I was blown away by the beauty and colours of the landscape.
Nice to see that there’s is someone who don’t have a 20k setup to shoot wildlife. It’s just enough to have a good camera like the a7 IV and and good zoom lens to shoot nice pictures as I see at your channel. Thanks and keep it going!
A7 IV has the A1 tracking algorithms which is better than the A9, but the A7 IV lacks in shooting speed. A9 II and A1 will still be better, because that's what theyre geared for
I own the A74 and the 200-600 like you do. I was a little bit disappointed when photographing birds in trees. I expected that the Atificial-intelligence in this camera with bird recognition would be able to auto-focus on a bird behind a branch, which sadly is often not the case. RUclipsrs often tend to praise their cameras, you are the first one that I found who mentions those problems in this video which I'm grateful for. I already suspected that something is wrong with my A74! Has anybody tried that very scenario with an A1? It's not the same sensor, but the same processor. The A1 has faster readout and should be faster. But object recognition should be the same... Has anyone compared the A74 vs A1 with birds behind branches?
Thanks for the feedback. My guess is that the object recognition is the same as you mentioned. Good thing though is that this most likely are 100% firmware and might be updated in the future?
Maybe bump into manual focus. The autofocus seems to pick up faster in weeds etc., on my sony a6000 with the new 200-600. It seems to "remember" somehow once it gets focus where I want. Might be similar situations for the newer cameras.
Hired an A1 and an A7iv for photographing wild hares in the north of Scotland. The A1 is incredible (obviously) but i the 30fps just meant I was filling memory cards in the span of 15 minutes. Ended up buying the A7iv as it just felt like a much better all-rounder. Not had any issues with the eye-tracking. Seems to work just as well as the A1
@@jerjaws no, i sealed my a1 also for the a7iv, its enough and I spend 5000€ its crazy. a1 colors are not as good, the shutter sound is like from a toy camera, display is not as good as others (canon) with the same megapixels... when I buy the a7iv it was 2100€ against 7300€... no-brainer to sell my a1
For video the much older GH5 still performs very well (except in low light) & the new OM1 does a very good job as a hybrid with the advantage of both micro four thirds being that weight of gear & price is much lower - any thoughts?
I've just shot indoor with 12800 ISO, even under exposed (Green Python). The quality coming out of this cam is insane, especially after a Topaz treatment.
Already had a Sony 7 IV but after watching so many of your videos I decided to buy the Sony lens 200-600 for 1.3k €. Can't wait to run around with so much focal length. Took some nice pics already with my 24-105mm but being able to go till 600mm ... can't wait for it to try it out! :)

I just sold my A9 like you I shoot mainly stills and I was not using the A9 what it was intended for. So I already have a A7riv which I love the pixels.
