You know I am 19 years old right now and watching your episodes feels like someone is broadcasting a session in my screen inside my room and presenting the visuals of how I want to live my life in coming days. And I want to thank you from my whole heart for this gift. Lot's of love, Abhishek
just remember...you only see the glamour side of this lifestyle. Scenery is not edable...its hard work to live away from civilisation..... but yes if you can manage an succeed in that lifestyle, it is very very rewarding.😊😊
that's a really good advice. Hustle is there in every work you wish to do. And I am practicing these things since three years and I really find the inner peace and solitude in the middle of the woodland. And I am aware that making a living out of art is really hard these days. And there is no guarantee of me reaching where I want to. But still, I wanna walk the path. By the way thanks for the chat dear.
I feel truly humbled when reading through all these beautiful, encouraging and just amazingly heartwarming comments. Everyone of you should know that even though I do not answer all of them I am reading every single one and I appreciate them so much. WHO KILLED THE PIGEONS? We still don't know but I will definitely follow up in the next episode from Norway - and yes if the circumstances allows, I am planning to make more videos in this series. PLEASE BE AWARE If you are feeding the birds in your garden or elsewhere. Do not use bread as we do in this video. Bread is "empty" calories for the birds and do not provide enough fat/nutritions for the birds to survive the winter. If the birds get a lot of bread, it will take up place for the "real food" - just as if we were only eating candy. On this location there are thousands of hectares of untouched forest and plenty of food in nature. The bread we give to the birds is only a fraction of what they eat during a day, and therefore it should be seed as a snack rather than a meal. WHAT GEAR DO I USE IN THE VIDEO? Sorry for not mentioning the gear I am using in the video. I know many are curious about what tripod, tripod head, lens etc. I think there are videos enough on RUclips focussing on gear and tech and even though I am a Nikon Ambassador and that I every so often make a gear video, I do not feel my purpose on this platform is to encourage you to spend your money on new equipment . I would much rather inspire you to get out in nature and get some unforgettable moments with the gear you already have. I am looking so much forward to sharing my future adventures with you. See you out there... All the best Morten
I'm still willing to bet it was a falcon of some kind that he been murdering the pigeons. Can't wait for the next video is due course, at this time of year when we are stuck indoors, it's lovely to get cosy with a hot drink and watch your adventures.
Thank You Morten for sharing all these lovely videos and this one with Jostein is just wonderful! I really hope that you will get there soon again and be able to share your visit once more. Jostein and your are really inspirational!
Brilliant video and scenery is stunning! Thank you for transporting me to Norway :). If I had to guess it could be a hawk or a owl..Only leaving the wings... Raptors are unable to swallow those parts but it could always suggest it being a fox or a weasel..
Thanks for mentioning the bread, Morten. Using it is absolutely frowned upon in Scotland. Great video. I hope to visit Denmark and Norway next year and find your work very inspiring.
I watched a Hollywood film last night and regretted it instantly. Several hundred people in the credits, cost a hundred million to make and it failed miserably like most films. Then I watched this. It's incredibly impressive on every level, and I can't wait until the net episode. The entire production has only two people in the credits?! Simply astounding! Bravo ❤🙏🌞🙌🔥
No one will see my comment 7 months after uploading the video, but this video makes me cry a little, especially at the views after ''plane crash" moment ... The beauty of this world, this nature and its inhabitants is as beautiful as it can be. I am an ecology student and being a naturalist is more than just a lifestyle, so you are my heroes. I am so thankful for people like you who do this work and share it with others. I agree with the other guys who tells that such trips are better than the official channels. I mean, it's not just about science or photographic, it's about our life.
My favorite, slow paced wildlife channel on RUclips! BBC or NatGeo have nothing on your production and story telling. Seriously, the imagery, music and soundscape, and how you weave these trips in to an interesting story makes me jealous every time! I look forward to more winter content as always. Thanks for the amazing work you put out. Very inspiring!
Totally agree with all of the above. Absolutely mesmerising the composition and production. Ive only done a few RUclips videos and the work required as well as taking some photos is hard work. Bravo from Cambridgeshire UK 🥰
Also for the forest - the English word you may have been looking for is either ‘Ancient Woodland / forest and or Majestic’. FotoBoden in English we call them a Hide as in ‘Hiding’ from the wildlife. Really appreciate you speaking in English also thank you 🙏 I’m a lazy Englishman with regards to speaking other languages so also appreciate you translating through the video 🤗
Just WOW... 52 mins gone by in a blink... Watching this, me and my wife enjoyed it more than when we watched frozen planet from BBC... I think sometimes we as viewers forget how much time and EFFORT goes into making something like this... And especially when you are a one-man team...
There is nothing better than relaxing from a hard working day with a Morten Hilmer Video. Thanks for taking me on this amazing journey with this amazing people, landscape and wildlife. Love to see more of this.
I read some of the replies and surprised how some didn’t like you providing food for the birds. I fail to see how it’s different when people hang up bird feeders in their backyard and plant gardens all to attract birds. Several do that to take pictures. Others do it to enjoy the beauty and music. So don’t get discouraged on what they say. Keep up the excellent videos and thank you for sharing.
Wow Morten, you talk about the BBC and Nat Geo in such high esteem but your story telling and video work is up there man, how they are not banging on your door to work for them I do not know (On a purely selfish note don't work for them as we will miss your YT content ). Thank you again for transporting me to Norway and to Jostein and his wife for being truly amazing human beings.
you know its a fantastic video when your 15 minutes in, not knowing how long the video is, and excited to see how much more of the video there is to watch
I have nothing but praise for your work and your videos. i am so IMPRESSED by your work in several ways. 1- this video looks like is the work of a whole crew shooting this amazing footage, editing, story telling, music and everything. If you really did this all by yourself, then YOU ARE GOD. 2- your work ethics, your patience, your amazing photography are superb and take my breath away. I can't tell you enough , how much I am in awe of your work and what you can do. THANK YOU FOR SHARING everything you do.
One of the best videos from you till now. Absolutely stunning Morten. You have this extraordinary ability to weave poetries in your videos and photograph. I swim in the ocean of calmness and a sense of utopia envelops me everytime i get to watch your videos.
I have a meeting to attend in a hour and just clicked on it planning to watch for a minute, and then BOOM !! 53 min already done. I am at peace and thanks for showing the real beauty with blissfull sounds and footage. Absolutely love everything on it !
Just one thing. Many people simply do not understand how hard it is and how much effort you need to put into a video in order to be able to tell a strory though it. It's like living 3 lives simultaneously, one of the cameraman, one of the actor and one of the storyteller. Love you guys! Love you from the bottom of my heart! Greetings from Romania!
Watched Fotobonden last Christmas when I was back in Norway visiting family. Love how you’ve got a similar feel of the show in this video series! Excellent work Morten
After video I think that 20 minutes is too short for this kind of masterpiece, then I realized that it was more than 50 minutes long. But now I think that 50 minutes is not enough 😊 Thank You Morten!
I have been watching both of them since I was a broke teenager. From the camerastoretv to DPreview and now here!! I now have a wife and a kid and still enjoying their humor and the way they present and review the cameras. Also, I visited Calgary years back so it's fun watching them when they test the cameras in downtown Calgary. Excited to watch more videos of them! 😁
From the music to the images, everything has an incredible harmony. Watching these videos gives us a peace that cannot be described. Thank you for sharing so much with us and for giving us these beautiful images
Videos like this are so soothing and pleasant to watch... After a week of work, dealing with problems, all that's going on in the world, the millions of little annoyances... this calms and reminds me that beautiful things exist.
Morten this was a masterpiece of storytelling in one video! We have fallen in love with Jostein and his mistress and the animals and their home... and definitely want more episodes! This was not just a video about wildlife photographer messing around with his camera and lens, it captured a story in life of a men and we loved it! You are really stepping up the level of nature photography videos. And we definitely need to know what killed those poor pigeons and if Jostein managed to keep the killer animal from the shed! Please :) Hope you all the best, you are a true inspiration! ;)
I’m so glad you like this way of telling stories. I truly enjoy bringing more to the table than a photo trip from start to finish and it is my big wish that more families will spend time together watching my stories, while they are having a cozy time😊
Very beautiful! Beautiful nature and delightful landscapes. Thank you Morten for introducing us to this fascinating place. Very high quality photography and an enjoyable and entertaining story.
Just WOW.. Watching these beautiful Norwegian landscape and wildlife is awesome.. Not to mention the hospitality, knowledge of the forest/wildlife and the amazing craftsmanship was great.. That slow paced lifestyle on that farm was very addicting..
I have been a subscriber since 2018 and have to say the story telling and production value of this collaboration is the best ever and is so good that it exceeds most big network television shows. You have grown so much in the ability to share the pure joy of being in nature and finding the beauty in ordinary and extraordinary species. Thank you for the value you have added to our lives and connecting us to nature--you are fulfilling your mission.
Mark, I started becoming serious about photography about 3 years ago as I approached my 63rd birthday. I couldn't have imagined how much joy it has brought me. I enjoy many types of 📸 but I specialize in landscape and wildlife photography.
You have outdone yourself again Morten, Your videography is amazing and your storytelling brings a warm feeling while I watch. This experience is one that most photographers can only dream about. I am happy that you have made a new friendship because that means more wonderful videos from this location. Thanks for bringing us with you!
So the 'how-to' turns out to be very simple: Just go somewhere so stunningly beautiful you couldnt take a bad picture if you tried and take some pictures. The happiness of this video is inspiring and lifts my heart. I'll try to use your method.
some of the visuals and landscapes in this video is enough to bring someone to tears, and at this point there have been no real bird photos....what a journey this video has taken me on. Very grateful you have shared this. As I scroll through the comments I see I am one of many who feels this way! Thank You very much.
I loved everything about this. It's literally my dream to live in a place like this and spend my days photographing nature and wildlife. Jostein is a character for sure, it would be an experience to photograph this location. Beautiful storytelling, and the bird photography was an absolute gem!
Thank you Morten as always for yet another incredible story of your adventures !! You really showcase what exactly it takes to capture those amazing wild moments of these beautiful animals and birds instead of only glorifying wildlife photography with photos and gears that are found on other channels and brodcasts.
I'm Norwegian and recently got into wildlife photography, this video felt so scandinavian in spirit. Loved it! Now I'm motivated to get back out there again.
Morten, your storytelling, your photography and connection to nature is simply outstanding. And the connection to your audience is so strong - as you can see in all the comments, your work is resonating so deeply with many, many people. Thank you, Morton, for sharing this with us, your art makes us happy.
I was napping when this video came on and I was half awake/half asleep. It was so relaxing, calming, and beautiful. I woke up at the end and watched the whole thing again. Amazing. Whenever I feel anxiety, I'm going to this channel...which is daily! Thank you for sharing and creating such a wonderful thing.
Whenever I feel a lack of inspiration, you always seem to come out with a new video that makes me even more motivated to photograph and record wildlife! Thank you so much for this amazing video Morten.
My ABSOLUTE favourite wildlife photographer. Thank you once again for an amazing way to spend an hour with my little girl. You rock Morten!! Keep up the phenomenal work!
I'm watching this again for the second time- it still moves and amazes after all this time. Thank you, Morten, for sharing the beauty in your soul, expressed in your mesmerizing photography.
Well, I guess that settles it. My new life goal is to live in a cabin in the woods of Norway taking wildlife photos. What an absolutely GORGEOUS video. Thank you so much for sharing. You're such a huge inspiration. Mange tak!
What a beautiful video Morten. The video shots, the photos, the location, the music, the voiceover, the people around you and the animals, omg. Very well done!
Hi there Morten, thanks for showing such a soothing and beautiful film as well as your amazing pictures. You just shared a part of your life. Jostein has a good sense of humor. I wish u very best for your coming project Morten.
One of, if not the, best videos I've seen on RUclips. I stumbled upon this when looking for wildlife photography tutorials, and instead came across this breath-taking film of beautiful nature in an incredible setting. It is lovely to see the enthusiasm and respect you both have, and how such a way of life has been sustainable in the 21st century. Thank you for the ideal escapism. (Would love to know who was picking off the pigeons though!).
Really love this series of videos as they show so much :) I've had a terrible week so far and these 52 minutes were a much welcome distraction. Jostein seems like such an interesting man with lots of knowledge and it seems like you had an amazing time out there. Looking forward to more adventures :)
I wanted to watch a movie with my girlfriend, but I remembered that Morten released a new video two days ago, and instead we watched this masterpiece! Best decision ever! We were absolutely in awe with the scenes and all of the story telling! It felt like we were there with you, for at least one day, not 52 minutes. Can't wait for the next years calendar! I will finally get my hands on 150-600 lens very soon and start my own wildlife adventure! Thank you Morten, you are a great inspiration to me!
And this is what i have been waiting for. Such a pleasure video to watch. Follow your passion is such a great word & Morten is a perfect example for that. Great going Morten!
Nice to see that you enjoyed your time in such a beautiful place. Taking the opportunity to gain wisdom from a unique man as Jostein. Amazing that you gathered the content of this video in the little time you spent there. Hard for me to tell you to keep up the good work, since you always provide us with excellent work. Really loved this video. Very inspiring.
Definitly one of your best videos Morten ! Thanks so much for all the kindness and simplicity you put in your work. Thanks to you, I started going quite often to the forest for wildlife photography. And I won't stop ! You're really inspiring and I think you make all of us realise that we better run away from big cities et get closer to the nature and its beauty. Thank you so much.
You have a way of expressing yourself clearly with your videos and photography. Every single moment was genuinely enjoyable and heartwarming. thank you morten for giving us such a wonderful glimpse into your photography experiences. I loved the story telling, your videography is getting soooo much better, and most importantly you are happy and enjoying what you are doing. you inspire us all everyday. sending you love from texas! take care of yourself.
Absolutely stunning! The BBC and Nat Geo would be lucky to have you, your content is always exceptional. I look forward to your videos the most and cannot wait for the notification of a new one from you. Because of you I now have a little bird hide in my garden which gives me so much happiness, you are truly inspirational.
Thank you for sharing this well-made and inspiring video. Enjoying nature being in itself in its natural state and feeling everything it offers with all the senses enriches us. And making such good photographs and films, it allows us to eternalize these memories and share them with other people. Congratulations on this great video. All the best from Malmö.
The silence between your videos is getting longer…. But I enjoy the silence you give us. The silence tells me that you are working on great content, like these videos. And those videos I love to sit and watch. This is pure love to nature and photography. Thanks Morten
Thank you Thomas. Yes Im just trying to take you a bit more behind the scenes in my daily life rather than on a single photo trip. I’m really glad you like this.
Stunning videography morton, I think you should contact the BBC to ask them if they'd be interested in commissioning a video from you. I think they probably would pay for something similar to this. They recently had a series on primetime TV self filmed by a canal boat enthusiast and the video and production work wasn't a patch on this. I think this would go down well on mainstream UK TV.
Oh, what a lovely, stunningly beautiful film!! Thank you so much for sharing it with us! Jostein is a wonderful character to watch and listen to. The scenery was so beautiful and of course, the photography was as well.
Truly a masterpiece. The way you conduct yourself, your manner and calm way makes everything worrying in the mind disappear and we are transported into your shoes, there, in that moment. Superb.
Morton, this video is an extraordinary piece of work, in every respect. It is as good a nature and/or photography story as I’ve ever seen. You are to be commended. Thank you so much.
A really relaxed film just what the doctor ordered for a chilled afternoon’s viewing. Thanks Morten the production quality of this film is first rate and makes me want to visit Norway 🇳🇴 sooner rather than later.
What a lovely place, lovely people... so peaceful and yet full of action. What a lovely video! As much as I enjoyed the bird watching it was so nice to see you taking the time to make friends with the horses and other animals... Funny, just yesterday as I was out in the woods with my camera, taking in all the beautiful autumnal colours that Canada has to offer, I also noticed the many variety of fungi and mushrooms that are so prolific this time of year. Then last evening I settle down to watch your video, (so excited), and what do I see... you taking photos of the fungi as well. :) Too funny! The sun will be up soon now, so I better finish my coffee and get myself 'out there'. Thank you, Morten for following your dreams. Thank you for enriching our lives. Big hug and cheers from Canada! Coral 🍄🍂🍃🍁🐴🦆🦫
Awesome Morten! This is one of your best videos. Jostein is such a great guy. You have to come back in the winter for the eagle season would love to see that!
What an ethereal experience you have brought to us! Thank you so much Morten for your wonderful storytelling and your ability to share peace with your viewers; I always tell people that nature heals us and these scenes have solidified that belief further. I am in awe of the variety and beauty within Norway, and you have validated my goal to visit one day. The combination of a wide, eagle-eye view of the Norwegian scenery laced with your conversational inputs made for an exceptionally well crafted viewing experience. Thank you again, you have definitely earned a new subscriber for life! Best of luck in all your future endeavors, and hopefully I can one day start a similar journey of exploring nature.
Morten you are the boss! I come here all the times i can to see your movies. I love it! All your movies have soul, passion and quality. We feel a guest at your home. Thanks!
Absolute stunning Morten!!! Cant imagine all the work you put into your videos but the result is just soooo good. Its like watching a high budget production but much more personal. Thanks for the beautiful video🙏 very nice photos you got also Tobias 🇸🇪

My favorite, slow paced wildlife channel on RUclips! BBC or NatGeo have nothing on your production and story telling.

I look forward to more winter content as always. Thanks for the amazing work you put out. Very inspiring!
Thanks Jarrett for a really encouraging compliment. More winter content is definitely coming.
Jarret Steil So you are saying the footage that David attenborough has filmed and presented and narrated over the years isn't up to par ..
Totally agree with all of the above. Absolutely mesmerising the composition and production. Ive only done a few RUclips videos and the work required as well as taking some photos is hard work. Bravo from Cambridgeshire UK 🥰

This was better than watching a documentary and a fairytale together. Loved Every minute. Thank you !
Love the slowness of your videos. So calm and peaceful!
Thanks a lot Dani. I really appreciate.
I love your videos a lot and I’m very jealous on your amazing squirrels 😊
imagery, music and soundscape, everything is out of this world.
This video is just amazing. Love the music, the story, the scenery. Wish it would never end!
His host was so nice, and seemed so happy that he was there, and so helpful with laying all the food for the birds.
It’s not just your photography that’s supreme, it’s the story, friendships and joy you reveal in every episode. Just lovely!
This is one of the most beautiful films I have ever seen!
There is nothing better than relaxing from a hard working day with a Morten Hilmer Video. Thanks for taking me on this amazing journey with this amazing people, landscape and wildlife. Love to see more of this.

What a compliment Espen. Thanks a lot.
@@MortenHilmer would you do a video interview for my youtube channel
I was speechless when I saw this beautiful nature footage. And the most impressive fact is, that this was only produced by one single man.
a 52 minute video of pure joy to watch - what a treat
Everything that we wished and more. Thank you Morten for the wonderful sharing. Till that last sparrow song.

Me too, who's the culprit, I go for the hawk!
I blame the cat
@@shimmeringreflection nah it never the cat
I reckon it’s a small mamal like a marten. I suspect a hawk would take the whole bird or sit and pluck out the featers.
i watched everything without even switching tabs, the storytelling and the pictures, the mood, the scene, everything is just awesome.

You have grown so much in the ability to share the pure joy of being in nature and finding the beauty in ordinary and extraordinary species. Thank you for the value you have added to our lives and connecting us to nature--you are fulfilling your mission.
Ohhh what a compliment - thank you so much 😊
Mark, I started becoming serious about photography about 3 years ago as I approached my 63rd birthday. I couldn't have imagined how much joy it has brought me. I enjoy many types of 📸 but I specialize in landscape and wildlife photography.
Oh Morten, this film was absolutely amazing. The scenery, the wildlife, what a dream place to be. I love it. Thank you for bringing it to us 🥰
Thank you for taking me with you. I felt as if I was right there.
You have outdone yourself again Morten, Your videography is amazing and your storytelling brings a warm feeling while I watch. This experience is one that most photographers can only dream about. I am happy that you have made a new friendship because that means more wonderful videos from this location. Thanks for bringing us with you!
I can promise you there will be more videos from this location together with Jostein. Thank you so much for your nice comment
So the 'how-to' turns out to be very simple:
Just go somewhere so stunningly beautiful you couldnt take a bad picture if you tried and take some pictures. The happiness of this video is inspiring and lifts my heart. I'll try to use your method.
Morten, this was a complete masterpiece. Thank you for being such an inspiration!
some of the visuals and landscapes in this video is enough to bring someone to tears, and at this point there have been no real bird photos....what a journey this video has taken me on.
Your videos are always so inspiring to watch. Thank you for sharing .
Thank you Morten as always for yet another incredible story of your adventures !! You really showcase what exactly it takes to capture those amazing wild moments of these beautiful animals and birds instead of only glorifying wildlife photography with photos and gears that are found on other channels and brodcasts.
Thank you. I really appreciate your compliment 👍
The love, within yourself, is making this magic. Wow
Mange tak!
Ein wahres Paradies für alle Naturliebhaber mit Kamera.
What a beautiful location and a great story. You are living the dream Morten. Thanks
Really love this series of videos as they show so much :) I've had a terrible week so far and these 52 minutes were a much welcome distraction. Jostein seems like such an interesting man with lots of knowledge and it seems like you had an amazing time out there. Looking forward to more adventures :)
I’m so glad you like it Pica. And yes, Jostein is very skilled and such a great person.
Awesome. And did your girlfriend survive 52 minutes of bird photography?
And this is what i have been waiting for. Such a pleasure video to watch. Follow your passion is such a great word & Morten is a perfect example for that. Great going Morten!
I really appreciate your encouraging compliment.
The drone footage is spectacular, giving a totally captivating perspective that is missing in other productions.
What an amazing life you are living Morten! Greetings from Tbilisi, Georgia
I love how joyful the men are to discover and journey together ❤
Nice to see that you enjoyed your time in such a beautiful place. Taking the opportunity to gain wisdom from a unique man as Jostein. Amazing that you gathered the content of this video in the little time you spent there. Hard for me to tell you to keep up the good work, since you always provide us with excellent work. Really loved this video. Very inspiring.
I always love your positive comments Ann😊
I am so taken aback by your documentary style. It is so great to see someone so passionate about their craft.
One of the best videos I've seen. Great job and thank u for sharing this.

Absolutely stunning! The BBC and Nat Geo would be lucky to have you, your content is always exceptional. I look forward to your videos the most and cannot wait for the notification of a new one from you. Because of you I now have a little bird hide in my garden which gives me so much happiness, you are truly inspirational.
most beautiful documentary from this year.
Thank you for sharing this well-made and inspiring video. Enjoying nature being in itself in its natural state and feeling everything it offers with all the senses enriches us. And making such good photographs and films, it allows us to eternalize these memories and share them with other people. Congratulations on this great video. All the best from Malmö.
great never seen someone get so excited about jays. scenery is amazing, production quality superb
Thank you for a new masterpiece
is it a drone shot at 16:13 ??? WOW!!! Great Job, also with the perfect sound on it... I LOVE THIS STYLE
Love from India
❤️
ew. just ew lol
Love from a secret kgb prison in long and forgotten Soviet bunkers don’t let them fool you the soviets are still here
Truly a masterpiece.
Hi Coral and thank you so much for a lovely comment. Sounds like you are enjoying nature just as much as I am😊

Awesome Morten! This is one of your best videos. Jostein is such a great guy. You have to come back in the winter for the eagle season would love to see that!
That is definitely my plan😉
Man this video is a thing of beauty. It's actually spiritual.
What a presentation - marvellous, top class again..thnak you .
