Great video Thomas! You totally downplayed our fear of the metal hummingbird, it was totally homemade with zero security implemented! Haha. What a journey! I’ll get my video out in a week or two! See you on the next adventure!
Thanks for taking me along. I find rain forests one of the most enchanting places to visit. Not sure if I could live there. But I hope we can find a way to preserve this environment for my grandchildren.
Nice one! Been there a few times, the cloud forest either side of the Andes is definitely something special. I do think you missed out on so much though, the insect macro opportunities there are off the scale. But then you haven't had much outdoor macro practice, totally addictive in the tropics! The birding can be fabulous but takes a lot of practice and experience.
I kept hopng the cable car's "wings" would flap!! What a wonderful adventure. Thank you for taking us along. Oh, and your accommodation is like something out of Lord of the Rings! Gorgeous.
Congratulations on visiting this wonderful place, on which landscape photography is not likely spend. Wildlife is abundantly present, and seems to ask for a different approach. Hummingbirds, being the diamonds in the sky, need to be seen from the same angle as the lightsource, in order to let their special colours stand out, not as you both did, from the shade. They are very approachable and not scared of you, as you're movements are way to slow. But the pictures you've taken, with such a high image quality, are stil stunning. Thanks for the post Thomas, I hope you've enjoyed 🙂
What a fantastic adventure, Thomas. I loved the toucan picture and the waterfall. I have photographed birds for the last several years so I know a bit about what you were experiencing with the foliage and the lighting. Last year I concentrated on hummingbirds and I kind of got my fill of them. This year I haven't tried to attract them with a feeder but I do have out some of their favorite flowers. That last cablecar "hummingbird" was enough to give you pause, wasn't it. I can empathize with that. About the accommodations: one night couldn't possible be enough. Glad you gave us a tour of that, too.
Been a subscriber for almost probably 6 or 7 yrs now. Kinda got out of photography the past 4 or so. Coming back to your channel, it's insane how much better your videos are. And your photography has just gotten even more amazing.
In the hills of Appalachia we calls those bridges swinging bridges. I'm sure you figured out why they are called that, lol. Beautiful images of the birds and the waterfall.
Hi Thomas. I'm following you for several years now. I'm a Belgian who has been living in Ecuador for 32 years now, because I fell in love with the nature beauty and richness of this country. I'm very glad that you came visit Ecuador and that you enjoyed it. I hope that this will motive more photographers to write the name of Ecuador on their bucket list. This country is little-known in the world of landscape photographers and it's really a pity. The potential for creating beautiful images here is infinite. Welcome and has always a great video and amazing photos. Congrats I love what you do.
@@JonasPaurellUnscripted Hi Jonas. Great news. I didn’t know you were living in Ecuador. Welcome also and it will be a pleasure to meet with you. Maybe we can have a coffee and chat about the beautiful places in the country
Loved the video, I can tell how much excitement and appreciation this day brought to you Tom. That fear in your face realizing you have to take the hummingbird to get back is priceless.
Such a fun video to watch. Your accommodations - amazing! What a view to wake up to. Loved the hummingbird images. That was quite a way to end your day - on a hummingbird ride.
Muy bien Thomas!! I always love your videos! This was so much fun! I love seeing you in such a different environment! I would love to see you head to Central America (Panama, Costa Rica or Belize) where some of my family lives next!!
When I saw thumbnail and title, I went nuts! Always wanted to see a master like you photographing a rainforest. I live in Rio de Janeiro and strugle to capture the beauty in the caotic scenery and lighting conditions it brings. Actually, you should come here some day! We have beaches, rainforest and mountains (and wildlife). All in one place!! It would make a fantastic photography trip!
I was smiling all through this video! Just wonderful! Especially the end (and the hummingbirds). Omg if I were your wife I’d be very jealous! I think you need to go again with her! 😀
What great timing , this video! I’m heading to Ecuador next week and you have solved some photography problems I have been wracking my brain about! Thanks!!
I am from Belgium and living for 32 years now in Ecuador. Trekking, hiking, photographing and crawling all over the country. I've never ever had any problem.
Pretty please.... more bird photography! 🐦😀 Particularly since this spot is so amazing for birds & wildlife!! I would love to visit there but it's so off my travel list... but I love seeing what you are seeing!! ~ Karen
Epic end to your circle route! Fantastic photos too. With all your wildlife adventures I started wondering if you will you upgrade your cute little lens for more reach? 😂 But seriously, I appreciate you using what you have. Miners would repurpose old vehicles to fill a need. It's cool seeing the car repurposed for the ride back.
no snow and no cold weather this is extremely unusual for you channel and I love that…. put you in places out of your comfort zone and you still can produce fantastic images.
Looking at your outdoor spa bath, all I can think of as an Aussie that lives with bush all around is you'd be sharing it with some massive spiders! 🤣 Thankfully, your wildlife encounters looked much more enjoyable 😁 You've been absolutely killing it as a wildlife photographer...love it!
I know that I might be a little bit biased because my dad is Ecuadorean but I love our trips down there from Canada and it’s only been since I’ve gotten older that I’ve been able to go and explore the country a little bit more because when I was younger, it was all about Visiting our very large family. Now I split the trip in half and visit family and then mini adventures but unfortunately, it’s a little harder now that I have a spinal injury 😔. A bucket list item is still the Galapagos islands!
Great to see you outside of the usual places, I see you had a great time, especially when riding the Hummingbird or "Colibri" as it is called in Spanish or "Tucusito" as it is called in Venezuela, down back to the car!
I really like the photo at 13:36; it's bringing back some memories of my visit to Ecuador in 2016. I idiotically drank water -- without filtering nor treating it -- from a small waterfall I was photographing in Mindo. It was very similar to the one you shot. I ultimately paid the price with a prescription of antibiotics and haven't made that mistake since, lol.
Wow! Great Video! 👍🏻what a place to stay and fantastic images of the birds and the waterfall and as you said an awsome end to the video with great drone footage. Looking forward to the next one as always.

Wonderful. If Simon d'Entremont was watching I bet he was saying "I knew you can do it"!

Very stunning pics of those hummingbirds. I love Ecuador. I have traveled the Río Napo Yasuní region and it was amazing. Cheers.
