It really needs to be more common knowledge that bulletproof gear is single-use.

@@hackergaming6372 A single hit comprises a very large area of the material surrounding the hit because it warps the threads in the weave and makes it far less effective. It *might* still stop additional bullets but each additional hit greatly increases the chances of the vest failing. There have been people who have died because they were unaware that their vest had already been compromised buy a previous hit.
I seem to recall hearing something about a squad in the military that was issued used vests which ended up costing a lot of them their lives.
Well... It kind of depends on the vest, I know some of the level 4 body armors can take multiple rounds. However, just because the vest survives doesn't mean you will. The sheer force of a bullet can kill you even if the vest stops it. Apparently, you can expect some pretty nasty bruising at the very least even from rounds that don't penetrate and it isn't uncommon to break ribs.
Of course, even with the best body armor there is an element of luck to it. Depending on the conditions, a 9mm bullet can pierce body armor or just bounce right off the human skull.
So it is partly a matter of "getting what you paid for," and partly people not realizing that there is no such thing as bulletproof, only bullet-resistant.
It also burns the vest a bit
My ex told me a true story about a buddy of his. The guy was cleaning his gun in front of his 3-year-old daughter. His wife came in and scolded him for having the gun around the baby. He said "Relax. The gun isn't even loaded." And then to prove it wasn't loaded, he put it in his mouth and pulled the trigger. Needless to say, it had one bullet in it and he basically committed suicide in front of his wife and daughter.

Given their lifestyle (or their projected image of how they live) the suspect pool would be more like a suspect ocean. Further, areas they tend to frequent are areas where the phrase 'snitches get stitches' is celebrated so there are unlikely to be witnesses willing to talk so short of a security camera (unlikely) or a confession (also unlikely) there really isn't anything to go on, or maybe you think police are magical and can just pull facts out of thin air without clues to work with.

You are right. Most rappers have huge egos and probably step on a lot of toes on their way up, so a lot of people would want them dead. And with the egos of people in general these days, a simple insult is enough to kill somebody, which wouldn't be on the police radar like typical things like cheating spouses, insurance money, bad business deals, etc.

the reason the bulletproof vest didn't work is because the more you shoot a bulletproof the weaker it gets. as for the book one. I've seen that story it would have worked if they used a weaker caliber gun but instead they used a 50 caliber apc (a quite powerful pistol round).

The invent actually had successfully tested a version of the suit with dummies and himself back in Austria, and demonstrated that suit successfully with a dummy off the Eiffel Tower the day he died. While the dummy made it to the ground okay, the suit was a little worse for wear. So when the press asked him to test a suit himself, he put on a second suit of a slightly different design. It failed, and he died.

When I test my dangerous theories I always take precautions. Like, I take 3 of them. Always follow these rules:
Precaution #1: Safety in all measures. This means wear safe stuff, take safe place and take a step back at your plan, not forward.
Precaution #2: Plan ahead everything, including all the small details. Make sure everything will go right but first think about all the things that would go wrong.
Precaution #3: Test out the testing objects three times or more (practise dummy, thick book, vest, etc) and make sure that no living thing is testing it on themselves.
And above all, the most important thing is, *never ever attempt to test it on yourself* if the odds of failure are 1/100000000, don't do it. If there's a single thread of possiblity of it failing, don't attempt to do it. That 1% of one million has 40% chance of actually happening. That means it could happen every other day at any time. As someone who actually is a master of planning ahead and beyond, I know this will happen. I literally over think both situations and come to a logical conclusion. Just don't do it. Never.

Exactly. I live in Minnesota and the story was covered extensively here. The guy wanted to create some buzz on his RUclips channel and pressured her to do it. The gun was a .50 caliber Desert Eagle. A real Darwin Award winner.

To be fair the child died of a vitamin K deficiency which vaccines would have done nothing for. The entire idea of them being charged is a joke. There is no such thing as a Vitamin K deficiency vaccine and no vaccine they would have given the kid would have solved that.
