When I was around 8 years old, my "friend" stole my bike. He removed the basket and the bell and tried to pass it off as his. When I went to his house to take it back, he told his mom that I was trying to take HIS bike. When I tried to explain that I had proof it was mine, she told me to be quiet and she was taking me home and having a talk with my mom. My Mom let her rant and then told her to turn the bike over. They didn't know that my mom wrote my name in permanent marker on the bottom of the chain guard.

I went shopping one afternoon and left my powerfully built Staffordshire Bull Terrier dog Sam outside the supermarket. When i came out not even 10 minutes later, he was gone. For three weeks I searched for Sam but no one had seen him. He had been trained by me to obey commands in Maltese as well as in English, so he was a special dog. I trained him in both languages. Three weeks later I get a call from a friend called Terry, who said he saw my dog Sam in a pub nearby in the possession of a black man. The man said he had owned the dog all its life. So to prove that the dog actually belonged to me, Terry asked the pub owner to help him prove the dog Sam was my dog. My friend Terry spoke a bit of Maltese too thankfully. So Terry gave the pub owner a piece of paper with 4 commands written in English on it. Then Terry said "I will tell Sam the commands on the piece of paper, one at a time, but I will tell Sam the commands in Maltese". He said "if the dog obeys the Maltese commands, then the guy who stole the dog would have to teturn it. But if the dog didn't understand the Maltese commands then the dog theif could keep the dog" The dog theif agreed and they used the pub owner as Judge.
So, my friend Terry told Sam to sit in Maltese...the dog sat down. Then he told Sam to lay down in Maltese, the dog lay down, then he told Sam to play dead in Maltese, the dog play dead. And finally he told Sam to bunny hop like a rabbit in Maltese, and the dog obeyed him and hopped around until Terry told him to stop.
After the pub owner agreed that the dog did indeed belong to me, the man who stole my dog Sam, cried his eyes out. When he gave me my dog back he begged my forgiveness and asked if Sam had any puppies. Well it just so happened that we had a breeding pair and Sam was soon going to become a daddy for the second time in four years.. The man whole stole Sam had really looked after him well, and I was grateful for that. So when Sam's puppies were born, a litter of 5 males and one huge female, I gave one male pup who looked like its daddy, to the dog theif. He wasn't a bad man to my way of thinking, and I became good friends with him. Turns out that he just loved dogs but had no money to buy one, he was after one of that breed (that breed goes for prices in the £100+'s) This all took place in the middle of the 1980's in Brixton. South London. This was before it was common practice to microchip pets. Oh, and contrary to what some people say, Staff Bull Terriers are only vicious when provoked like any dog, or any animal for that matter Generally speaking they are extremely loving and affectionate dogs who are intelligent and are easily trained. If you raise them to gentleness then what you put into them is what you get out. That is the same with animals the world over, and about people too for the most part. I won't be offended if you don't comment on this story as its rather long and boring, in that way that true life stories often are. This is the first time since the event took place that I'm thinking about it. Perhaps I should write a memoir for my childrens childrens children. Call it "Life in 20-21st centurys" lol no one would buy it hahaha

I was on a street with my wallet in my plant's pocket. I was buying some snacks after school in a store when group of children suspiciously encircled me. I went out the store after buying. Went home and I realized my wallet was gone. I wasn't worried at all cause I have emptied the wallet before going to the store and transferred all my paper money in another pouch I was holding all the time. I knew those children stole it while I was busy strolling the corridor of the store. It was proven by a CCTV camera in the store.
Days later, a schoolmate returned my empty wallet saying it was found by children on the street.
Well, fact is, I was wiser than those young thieves before they could even rob me.

The idiot who stole my things sold it to a pawn shop around the corner from his apartment. When I found it at the pawnshop I told the people working there that it was mine. They didn't believe me. I thought I lost my earphones once. I didn't know it was stolen. The girl who took it heard me asking and told me it's just an earphone and I'm being stupid so I pushed her...she then pushed me back and she was twice my size so imagine how that turned out. She later confessed and wanted to return it and I decided I didn't want it back.

It's amazing that no one commented on the 50 year sentence of the man who stole fajitas. He's a crook, no doubt, but 50 years is essentially a life sentence for stealing food. Completely out of proportion.

I think it was in the late '80s or early '90s manhole covers in Scottsdale, AZ. started turning up missing. Seems the upscale city wanted to show just how upscale they were and replaced their cast manhole covers with aluminum covers but never considered how thieves might steal them for profit. Didn't take them long to go back to the old dull covers.

Also happened in CZ some years back, someone stole a whole news stand in broad daylight. And I also recall a story of about 20 truck loads of wood that disappeared without a trace. Nobody noticed even though it was stacked by a highway with regular police patrols going by. So if you want to go steal something, leave the balaclava at home, all You need is a reflective vest.

She found me on facebook from my name on the luggage tag I was too lazy to take off after a flight. The woman messaged me me saying she found it in her backyard. Not only did I get my backpack back but as I walked through her backyard I found most of my stuff scattered in her bushes.

When I was a kid I lived in Grant's New Meixco, i had just turned 4, I had gotten my first bike for a gift and was ecstatic to ride it. I was about to ride it when I was called in for dinner, so I parked it out side my house, 2 hours later I went outside to ride it and it was gone. I looked for it for 5 weeks with out prevail, so eventually I gave up. About 1 week after I gave up, my older brother walks into the house with my bike saying he found it behind a dumpster on the other side of town where his friend lives. To this day we have bo idea who took it.

Before I moved I was packing up my stuff and could NOT find this dragonfly bracelet. My step-dad-who's not much of a gift giver- gave it to me after a trip to Wyoming to visit his dad. It was beyond precious to me and I was devastated it was lost. A few months after the move I was pulling a drawer out of my jewelry box and it popped out of the back of it. There's NO WAY it should've been back there as I'd taken the entire thing apart before I moved looking for the bracelet. I'm so thrilled I found it, however it came back.

When I was in high school, a bunch of us were into Yu-Gi-Oh card battles before class and during lunch. Well, there was this guy, always and I mean ALWAYS had several of these starter and booster card sales packs and would sell them. We always figured something was up as he always had a supply. Turns out he was stealing them from Walmart and selling them at a 15% mark-up for starters and 30% for boosters.
Well someone found out he was stealing the cards and reported him not only to the school but also Walmart. Ironic thing is, instead of throwing the book at him they made him fork over the money he had been getting from his 'customers' at the school (I think he had been saving up all his money so he had about $5,000), plus he was expelled for the rest of the year.
Unsure if anything else happened after that. I never bought cards from him as my group and I traded cards back and forth assembling our decks. I still have my Dragon deck somewhere around here. Cards are probably all out of date though with the newer generations.
EDIT: Sorry about the double comment, the first was a half-asleep kind of thing.
