Paul suggested to Micheal to invest his money in music catalogs.....The Beatles didn't own there own songs and Paul was trying to buy them back. But Michael ended up purchasing there whole catalog. They weren't friends after that.
I think this is one of the best songs of all time. I don't know how I could get more dopamine from a song than this. My husband often brings up that one time, right after we first got together, that I was playing this over and over and over and singing and dancing to it. I've been waiting for this reaction for a long time and I'm glad you loved it.
The woman on the truck with them and throughout the video is Paul's real life wife Linda McCartney. She died in 1998 from breast cancer. She was in his band Wings Paul formed in the 70s. She also helped get him out of an emotional slump when the Beatles broke up and got him writing music again. Paul wrote the song "Maybe I'm Amazed" about her in his way of thanking her.
Paul McCartney was being called "The Voice" in 1963. His versatility makes his voice a chameleon, raspy, soft, sweet, rockin, Paul does it all. This is one reason Michael, and Stevie Wonder both did duets with Paul around the same time. This led to a big riff between Michael and Paul, after Jackson's company bought the Beatles music publishing rights for many years (until legal troubles made him sell them back).
Guys, you REALLY NEED to watch "A Hard Day's Night" (The Beatles first film) -- it will give you insight into the early days Beatlemania, it has a great soundtrack, and you will know them each a bit better (and it's a comedy). There is SOOOO much more in The Beatles catalog, just imagine they had 27 number one hits between 1963 and 1970
Both of you will want to check out Paul McCartney's 1970s work with the Rock group, Wings. Especially their 1976 hit song/music video, "Silly Love Songs".
Paul and Michael were so close at this point in time and recorded two other duets together. The relationship broke down after Michael brought the back catalogue of The Beatles music. Paul also has a great duet with Stevie Wonder called 'Ebony and Ivory' which is definitely worth a reaction by you guys. 👍👍
@ 2:45 when Michael comes in on the verse, I love how Amber smiles, and that smile is warranted! Its MIKE! Michael Jackson simply had that Midas touch. I miss him!
Paul McCartney and Wings is definitely a rabbit-hole that is such a delight to go down. "My Love" is like butter! Michael flirting with his sister, LaToya, in the bar cracks me up.
Please do a reaction to the Beatles song "Oh! Darling". Paul really shines and shows a whole new dimension in range. Oh my gosh, you will both LOVE it!!
Paul has to be the greatest modern musician...at 80,playing a 3 hour set ,38 songs at Glastonbury to rave reviews is something beyond comparison. 38 songs and some people complained about those he didn't perform !!! What a repertoire and man.
Sir Paul McCartney was the only concert I've ever actually cried tears of joy, and happiness!! Best birthday present ever from my sweet wife! Seeing how moved, and emotional I was ...was all the thanks she needed!!
You've seen pictures of the blonde lady (Linda McCartney) before when you reacted to Paul McCartney's "Maybe I'm Amazed" video. He dedicate another song to her called "My Love" you should react to.
Michael is a genius insane amazing artist !!!😢 when he started to sing immediately i get a big bright smile all over my face and begin to move my head to the music he is incredible !!! I can't find enough words to describe him i could write a whole mj bible how amazing he is but all i could say is he is unreachable !❤❤❤❤❤ we will always love you mike beautiful soul.
Loved this song the first time i heard it on MTV, was 7 years old, felll in love with it! Alittle interesting cameos, the blonde throughout the video is Linda McCartney, & the pretty lady Michael gives the flowers to at the end, is a very young Janet Jackson! Couldn't have gotten 2 better singers for this!!
The song…and Bill Wolfer will confirm, who was Rhodes player for MJ, Stevie Wonder, Quincy, etc actually was created by Michael Jackson more so, but Michael and Paul sat and wrote the jist of it on guitar and lyrics. Wasn’t set to be recorded. Michael went to Bill Wolfers house when back in states, Grease was on tv, MJ loved the movie so he plopped down and watched and when was over, he showed Bill the tape (just guitar and their vocals) and Bill said “is that Paul McCartney?” MJ said yes. Well MJ and Bill used a 4 track with rhythm arrangement using LM1 drum machine, Bills Rhodes piano (modified to sound like Stevie’s piano), bass using a minimogue, etc, MJ wanted a road map for musicians, so MJ and Bill did the 4 track. Michael went to Cherokee Sound studio, on MJs own dime and initiatives. MJ directed the sessions producing it. They brought in Nathan Watts and Ricky Lawson and nailed the track in no time (them 2 are/were incredible session players), David Williams did guitar parts, couple weeks later MJ called Bill back to do some strings over dubs, MJ wanted that slide string sound on that sharp 9 chord on that first happens on the 2 minute mark, (MJ was a genius), and Bill used a Yamaha CS80 for that sound. Bill came back few days later to see what MJ was doing with it at Cherokee, and MJ had Ernie Watts and Jerry Hey etc doing horns, had harmonica player. Bill said “MJ this is an elaborate demo”, and MJ laughed and said “I want this to be the record, and take it to London”. MJ said “he wanted Paul to hear it as MJ heard it in his head, and did t want it to sound too white.” (Too pop). When MJ went back to London he broke out the tape to let Paul hear it and first thing Paul said was “is this 24 track”, and MJ said “yes”, Paul replied “did you bring it with you?” MJ said he wanted “yea”. MJs plan and work worked. And they used everything Michael did and only added their vocals. Nate watts was amazed Paul didn’t replace his Bass with Paul playing Bass. More to the story but in short yes was a team effort, but Michael did most the work. About 80/20 composing and writing. Again Michael was just something special.
What you saw in this music video at the beginning, was what was called a "traveling medicine show". A group of people would be trying to sell a tonic medicine, that the salesman would promise to give the user strength and healing powers over various ailments. A member of the show, unknown to the people, would pretend to be a buyer of the tonic medicine, use it, and pretend to have amazing results from the use of the tonic medicine. Those in attendance who are convinced that the tonic medicine will help them, buy the bottles of the tonic medicine from the salesman. Most of the time, the "tonic medicine" contained alcohol, and sometimes other drugs that did not help the user, but got them addicted to the "tonic medicine", such as being laced with cocaine, or hashish oil. These "traveling medicine shows" worked all across the United States during the 19th Century and Early-20th Century, until the Food And Drug Administration worked to shut down their businesses. The bigger medicine show operators then started selling "patent medicines", such as Hadacol. It was a liquid vitamin supplement, with 12 percent alcohol. It was sold in drug stores, and were very popular in "dry" counties after Prohibition, since it was classified as an "over-the-counter" medication/vitamin supplement. Hadacol was a sponsor of various music tours in the late-1940s and early-1950s, For a year, Hadacol was a sponsor for one of Hank Williams' Sr.'s tours. The Federal Trade Commission went after Hadacol for false health claims, and with the combination of bad business practices the company went bankrupt. The only "patent medicine" still being sold today, despite its 12 percent alcohol content, is Geritol, which is sold in liquid form, and tablet form.
Ooooo love this song!! Sister Latoya and Paul's late wife Linda were also in this. I'm not sure if y'all have reacted to this one yet, if not y'all should check out Michael Jackson's Earth Song. The message of the song is just as relevant today as it was when he performed it....if not more so.
I love when two phenomenal artists that you would never clump together come together and blow our socks off. This is one of the best duets ever. I said that about Barbra Streisand and Donna Summer and I'll say it about this duet too.
So in 2019 McCartney came to Atlanta. I've been a fan since the 70's (born in 71). The show was over 3 hours, and he played Beatles songs, Wings, some new stuff, and solo stuff. Now the tour had limited dates, so many people around the southeast came in for the show. A family of 4 (husband, wife, son, daughter) were sitting in the first few rows, and they caught Paul's eye. Why? Because they were wearing replicas of the costumes each of the Beatles wore on the Sgt Peppers album cover...he called them up on stage. Found out they had driven from Kentucky to see the show as it was the closest place he was playing from their home. The costumes were spot on, and apparently the mom had made them by hand. The kids were only like 10-12 years old. He calls them up on stage and just talked to them for like 10 minutes. The little boy tells Paul that when they wore the costumes to school all the other kids made fun of him and his sister...So what does Sir Paul do???? He gets someone to bring him a sharpie, and autographs each of the costumes, and then has the family sit about 15 feet from him on the side stage for the rest of the show. As he was signing the costumes, he looks at the boy and says "let's see if they make fun of you now...these should be worth good money" F'ING LEGEND!

That was is wife for a very long time, but they did get divorced it's one of the biggest payout in a divorce in music history. Linda made out ,and it broke Paul's heart he really still loved her. MJ and Barry Gibb did a song together as well. Much love to you and your family 💕Brandi Modrak 💕❤
It was during this time that Michael asked Paul if he had any advice for a young artist. Paul told him to buy an old song catalog and he'd be able to make money off rereleases. Michael replied "I'm gonna buy YOUR songs." Paul laughed halfheartedly, thinking he was joking. Not long after, Michael bought The Beatles catalog that was up for auction, beating out Paul. When Michael died, the catalog was given to Michael's primary creditor, SONY, who owns it until this day. EDIT: I'm behind on current news about it. Thanks for the updates everybody.
@@julieholland9639 Paul was still of that generation of musical artists that didn't care much for long-term money from music publishing and left all that to their managers. Those musical artists thought that recording and touring would make them enough, but the revenue from those comes and goes far too quickly compared to people *_decades from now_* continuing to pay you for permission to license a song for a cover or for use in a movie or a TV show (and you getting a percentage every time those get played).
Omigosh!! I haven't heard this song in forever. I had forgotten what an absolutely fantastic piece of music it is, what an amazing collaboration Paul and MJ had, and also what a *fun* music video this is! It got pretty heavy rotation on MTV back in the day. Thanks for this awesome throwback, guys!

You could totally do a Two for Tuesday theme with actual Duet groups and the one-off collaborations like this one. As others have mentioned "The Girl Is Mine", also by McCartney & Jackson... "Ebony & Ivory" by Paul McCartney & Stevie Wonder... "Easy Lover" by Phil Collins & Phillip Bailley... and anything from Robert Plant (from Led Zeppelin and had an amazing solo career) & Alison Krauss (Bluegrass/Country) who are currently on tour!
GRRREAT IDEA!!!! There's such a wealth of material there! First choice, Dr. John & Ricky Lee Jones singing "Makin' Whoopie", Bryan Adams & Cher "I Finally Found Someone", Barbra Streisand And Neil Diamond "You Don't Bring Me Flowers" (but it has to be the live performance at the Grammy's).
Tina Turner, after her divorce from Ike, did several great duets during her Private Dancer come back tour. Among them was Bryan Adams "it's only love" and David Bowie "Let's Dance". Tuesday Duets a great idea.
McCartney's voice has a four-octave range, and he can do everything from sweet ballads to hard rock. I think most of your Beatles videos have been songs where John took the lead, but there are a multitude of great records written and led by Paul (and George).
Going back to 1978, Paul had a song called "Girlfriend" which he intended for Michael to sing. It first appeared on "London Town" in 1978 by Paul's band, Wings. MJ did his version the following year for his "Off The Wall" album produced by the legendary Quincy Jones. In 1982, one of the first singles off Micheal's "Thriller" album was "The Girl is Mine" which was the first hit combining Paul and MJ. Then in 1983 Paul and Michael had two songs on Paul's "Pipes of Peace" album, the big hit "Say, Say, Say" and "The Man". If you enjoyed this one you should definitely give a listen to "The Man" and "The Girl is Mine". BTW Paul had more success in the decade of the 70s than the other three Beatles put together. He was even in the Guinness Book of World Records in 1979 as the most honored man in music

Just wanted to say I met Paul many times at his father’s house and he and Linda were the nicest people you could want to meet. I think Paul is very bright & had he not been one of the Beatles he would have succeeded in whatever profession he chose. He was to denounce Alan Klein & although that split the Beatles two years later they admitted Paul was right. I’m so glad he and John made their peace before John’s murder. I think this broke him, luckily he had Linda to give him a reason to come back.
Hi everyone✌️ Pau is a man of 10 000 voices👍😉, he just turned 80 a few days back. In his heydays, he could sing anything. If you give one day reaction tribute to his birthday, try Monkberry Moon Delight, it is from his solo album Ram, he sings there with his late wife Linda. Second suggestion would be Helter Skelter,it is the Beatles song, Paul wrote it becase he heard that some band just wrote the hardest song, so he didnt hesitate for too long and wrote Helter Skelter. And the third suggestion would be She"s leaving home, nice storytelling, it is a nice duet with John Lennon. Paul read in a newspaper about a girl who has gone missing, she left home and so Paul wrote She"s leaving home. Try those 3 songs and you will not be dissapointed, have a nice day✌️

When this was on regular rotation on MTV, it was the best of times. So much good music from those few years of early 80s. At this time Michael and Paul were good friends. After MJ screwed Paul out of his own catalogue of music, by outbidding him, then they were no longer such good friends.
Paul did not want to pay the asking price and with yoko turned it down, then MJ bought it. There is a video here on RUclips that tells the real story. Paul had the money he was just to cheap.
When they made this video, Jackson asked McCartney for advice on what to invest in. McCartney suggested buying song rights. Jackson told him "I'm going to buy your songs". Later Jackson bought the publishing rights to the entire Beatles catalogue.

I've been waiting for this reaction for a long time and I'm glad you loved it.
Dopamine??? Really? You must be easily amused...
@B Gallagher Definitely does amazing things for the brain. :)
@@glassontherocks I am entertained by some weird things but most of the time I'm pretty depressed, so I really notice a good dopamine boost. :)
This led to a big riff between Michael and Paul, after Jackson's company bought the Beatles music publishing rights for many years (until legal troubles made him sell them back).
yes - and it was Paul who suggested to Michael that he got into publishing... only for MJ to grab the rights from under his nose!
@@handy905Wow you guys REALLY don't know this story. Smh
I thought that was Tom Jones?
@@handy905 Paul could’ve bought it himself, but he didn’t want and Mike told him he would before he did,
MJ did Paul dirty.
I love this colaboration!! Latoya Jackson is the saloon girl in the video. The woman with the show is Paul's wife, Linda.
Guys, you REALLY NEED to watch "A Hard Day's Night" (The Beatles first film) -- it will give you insight into the early days Beatlemania, it has a great soundtrack, and you will know them each a bit better (and it's a comedy). There is SOOOO much more in The Beatles catalog, just imagine they had 27 number one hits between 1963 and 1970
That's a great suggestion
I was going to make the same suggestion, after you wondered about the Beatles personalities! It's a very entertaining movie.
Great suggestion! They would love it for sure.
Absolutely!
And a 13 year old Phil Collins plays a cameo in the movie .
Both of you will want to check out Paul McCartney's 1970s work with the Rock group, Wings. Especially their 1976 hit song/music video, "Silly Love Songs".
Great song❤
Let's not forget Paul McCartney solo career and Wings. "Listen to what the man says", "With a little Luck", "Band on the Run". For starters.
"Live And Let Die"!!!😃💕🎶🎸🎧🎼🎺🎵
All of these songs. ♥️
@@frauleinmonaThe second best James Bond song (after the original, of course)

You have to hear the Beatles...."The Long and Winding Road"...A Masterpiece...
A definite MUST!
Thanks for bring this up. It saves me the trouble. Michael out bid Paul and Yoko for the rights. Paul never forgave Michael for that.
@@larrygrebler5054 Paul had his chance to buy the music and he didn't, that's all on him.
@@mechajay3358 Paul and Yoko were trying to negotiate for a better price when Michael jumped in. I'm not blaming anyone, just stating what happened.

That was a HUGE hit at the time. Awesome song.
It was HUGE. To exist in 1983 & not hear this was impossible. This was a mega hit!
Facts it was playing
Please do a reaction to the Beatles song "Oh! Darling". Paul really shines and shows a whole new dimension in range. Oh my gosh, you will both LOVE it!!
Paul has to be the greatest modern musician...at 80,playing a 3 hour set ,38 songs at Glastonbury to rave reviews is something beyond comparison.
38 songs and some people complained about those he didn't perform !!!
What a repertoire and man.
MJ was the total package. As gifted a singer and dancer as we ever seen.
Oh man, this song was massive!! It's a banger. Their other duet they did at that same tim, The Girl is Mine, is a ballad but just as good!!!!
And as usual, Pauls fantastic bass playing is great and under appreciated.
This is making me soooo happy! This was so popular when I was in grade school….love MJ
What a great song and video thanks for bringing it back!
Glad you got to this one. It's really a good song, by two of the biggest artists of all time.
This was such a wonderful collaboration, they really showed their own distinct styles in the verses and put them together so well on the chorus
6:35 Paul popping out behind Michael repeating the "Baby!" always gets me 😂
Paul's voice is like velvet here, love, love, love it.
For another Michael Jackson collaboration, you got to do Scream with Janet Jackson
Heck yeah! Great video, talented pair of siblings blend so well together.
And right after this Michael buys Beatles catalog!! Paul all confused like “how u gonna buy Beatles?” 😂😂 str8 like that!! Love this song 💕💕

As he was signing the costumes, he looks at the boy and says "let's see if they make fun of you now...these should be worth good money"
F'ING LEGEND!
Wooow Mike will be still this awesome, gorgous humanbeeing LEGEEEEND we love you angel❤️

By the way, the blond is Linda McCartney, Paul's long time wife and love of his life
That was is wife for a very long time, but they did get divorced it's one of the biggest payout in a divorce in music history. Linda made out ,and it broke Paul's heart he really still loved her. MJ and Barry Gibb did a song together as well. Much love to you and your family 💕Brandi Modrak 💕❤

@brandimodrak461 wrong. Paul and Linda McCartney never divorced. You are thinking of Paul's second marriage to Heather Mills.
I absolutely LOVE your reaction!! I could feel the vibe in your soul. All smiles. They don't make music like that anymore!! RIP MJ
That's a great way to kill a friendship.
It hurt their friendship. Paul got really upset when Michael approved using Revolution for a NIKE advertisement.
I thought Paul finally bought them from Sony
Paul has more money than God how can he not obtain it???
@@julieholland9639 Paul was still of that generation of musical artists that didn't care much for long-term money from music publishing and left all that to their managers. Those musical artists thought that recording and touring would make them enough, but the revenue from those comes and goes far too quickly compared to people *_decades from now_* continuing to pay you for permission to license a song for a cover or for use in a movie or a TV show (and you getting a percentage every time those get played).
This was a monster hit...6 weeks at #1 at the very end of 1983. Just between Michael Jackson's Thriller era and the Jackson's Victory era.
What do you think of the Jacksons' VICTORY album? My favorite track on that album is "One More Chance"
“The Girl Is Mine” by Paul and Michael is another great duet to check out, guys!

They filmed this video in Los Alamos California. Just a few miles from Neverland Ranch and Santa Barbara.
When they were there it was craziness
That was filmed at Neverland before Jackson ever purchased it. Paul and Linda McCartney were leasing it at the time and Jackson later bought it after the Thriller album took off. Back when this video was filmed it was called The Sycamore Valley Ranch.
All the old westerns Bonanza, Gunsmoke, even Twilight zone had an episode with some wonder potion being sold from a covered wagon like this. And they were all a con job lol. This was an ode to that era
One of my all time favourite songs

Paul and MJ are perfect. I saw Paul a few years ago in Jersey City and Michael in Jersey - Off the Wall concert early 80’s. ❤❤
McCartney's voice has a four-octave range, and he can do everything from sweet ballads to hard rock. I think most of your Beatles videos have been songs where John took the lead, but there are a multitude of great records written and led by Paul (and George).
Paul also performed with the Preservation Hall Jazz Band (New Orleans) doing When the Saints Come Marching IN, He plays Louis Armstrong"s trumpet
MJ's voice is like mineral water flowing through a stream on a bed of caramel. His voice alone took on a new energy in the song

He was to denounce Alan Klein & although that split the Beatles two years later they admitted Paul was right. I’m so glad he and John made their peace before John’s murder. I think this broke him, luckily he had Linda to give him a reason to come back.

A good way to maybe explore the Beatles is to randomly react to the songs on the album “ONE” a compilation of all of their number 1 hits.
all TWENTY SEVEN of them!!
Hi everyone✌️
Pau is a man of 10 000 voices👍😉, he just turned 80 a few days back.
Try those 3 songs and you will not be dissapointed, have a nice day✌️
During the filming of "Say, Say, Say," MJ visited Paul Mccartney who was staying at Sycamore Valley Ranch. A few years later MJ bought the Ranch and turned it into Neverland. When this was on regular rotation on MTV, it was the best of times. So much good music from those few years of early 80s. At this time Michael and Paul were good friends. After MJ screwed Paul out of his own catalogue of music, by outbidding him, then they were no longer such good friends.
More accurate to say that Paul *thought* they were friends.
