This was the theme tune for the 'Bond' film 'Live and Let Die', Paul McCartney and Wings did some great tracks around this time, albums, 'Band on the Run', 'Venus and Mars', the next tracks to check out by him should be' 'Band on the Run' and 'Jet'.
Have this album with all this music on it.
Best Bond theme ever!
I love "Jet".
@@MrTheCamel Absolutely.
Hmmm..that’s debatable. 🙂
This was the theme song for a James Bond movie by the same name.
Yes from 1973
He was robbed!
Yesssiiirrr
So cool. Up there with the better Bond movies.
So many to choose from to.
@@theodoreritola7641 yes , happy 50 th anniv. Great film great song 🥃🚬👍
Seeing Paul perform this song live is just amazing
At the appropriate time ( in outdoor gigs) fireworks 💥
@@fayesouthall6604 He had the fireworks indoors at the concert I was at lol
Must see live!
Wow. Would love to see that. ❤😊 I've always liked this song
Saw it at Candlestick in San Francisco and it was 🔥
Paul McCartney was commissioned to do the opening number to the James Bond film, Live and Let Die. Watch the opening of this film with the music. It is very theatrical for a reason. McCartney is extremely versatile. He has also written classical music. Brilliant artist! He adds a lot of pyrotechnics to this song in concert.
Those pyrotechnics were there in his set at last year's Glastonbury as well.
He has written pretend Classical music.
1973 was an interesting year for Paul, he did this single for the Bond film, and recorded "Red Rose Speedway", and his masterpiece "Band On The Run", quite a great run!
Band on the Run is the best!!
@@Houston727Gal agreed
Band on the Run is the first album I ever bought myself. Absolutely fantastic album!
Have they reacted to Band on the Run? If not, they should!
Paul McCartney is an amazing artist. It seems like there isn't anything he can't do. Band on the Run is great, but he has some masterpieces that are deep cuts and most people never hear them. Go down the McCartney rabbit hole, you won't regret it!! ✌️❤️
Amber picked up on the theatrical feel of the song. Not only was it the opening theme song for the James Bond movie “Live and Let Die” but was also used in the soundtrack during the film in some dramatic moments. Paul wrote this in a single afternoon and had it recorded a week later. Just amazing.
George Martin wrote the orchestral arrangement.
A brilliant soundtrack album. George Martin used repeated themes and I cannot watch the movie now without smiling when I enjoy identifying the tracks.
@@willdwyer6782 He should've got composer credits for this one.
@@bobwoolerOriGinal He did. Check out the credits in the description on the official RUclips video.
@@willdwyer6782 Just checked it out, he didn't. Only credited as an arranger, not songwriter (composer).
The song was orchestrated by George Martin. It was the first time Martin and McCartney had worked together since Abbey Road. The producers were so impressed with Martin's scoring, he was hired to do the movie soundtrack.
Yes, it's important to mention George Martin's involvement in this amazing song
George Martin had a huge influence on The Beatles music. The best of the best!
When I was 12 years old, I went with a friend to see this new "James Bond film" featuring Roger Moore (his first film as James Bond ) This song that Paul McCartney wrote is probably the best movie theme ever written for any movie, and also solidified Paul as my favorite 'former' Beatle. Nearly 50 years later I still love love this song so much!
l never rated this song. As far as pop stars writing film themes go l think Ballad of Virgin Soldiers by Ray Davies is the best.ruclips.net/video/xx_cU7R87tU/видео.html&ab_channel=Pelacanyes%28DavidPanades%29
Saw this when I was 11. Was my co-favorite film (with "The Seven-Ups") until "Dog Day Afternoon" and "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest" got me into art cinema.
Saw it the Park Lane theater in Palisade Park NJ with a couple friends. Great memory.
I would wager Goldfinger to also have one of the best theme songs.
Written by Linda McCartney
One of the best James Bond theme songs. As far as hits, McCartney had the most, but EVERY single Beatle had at least TWO #1 songs on the pop charts as a solo artist, which is INSANE...
@Wilt Chamberlain is the GOAT Is that across nations?
@Wilt Chamberlain is the GOAT Cheers, I was just curious 😁
@Wilt Chamberlain is the GOAT It's definitely Billboard hot 100.
Harrison was the first to do it with MY SWEET LORD, then later with GIVE ME LOVE (GIVE ME PEACE ON EARTH), then much later with GOT MY MIND SET ON YOU.
Ringo did it with PHOTOGRAPH, and YOU'RE SIXTEEN.
Lennon did it with WHATEVER GETS YOU THROUGH THE NIGHT, and (JUST LIKE) STARTING OVER.
And McCartney has done it at least a handful of times, but his first two were UNCLE ALBERT/ADMIRAL HALSEY, and MY LOVE.
All four would score some close #2s as well as other top 10 hits, and some #1s that didn't count (for example Ringo had another #1 with IT DON'T COME EASY, but it wasn't on the Billboard hot 100).
made it to #2
only James Bond song to hit #1 was View to a Kill...
@@louisquiles5783 Yeah unfortunately this didn't get to #1 (although it was #1 on Cash Box and Record World charts--not Billboard) but McCartney still had about TEN #1 hit singles on Billboard...(btw View to a Kill was a great Bond theme song)
You guys gotta check out “Yesterday”.
It’s a Beatles song written by Paul & is the most covered song in history with 2,000+ cover versions
Also "Eleanor Rigby" - I think they'd really like the orchestra.
Summertime is the most covered - Yesterday is #2.
@@murrayspiffy2815 No, "Amazing Grace" is #2. BTW, "Summertime" has been recorded over 67,000 times. "Yesterday" has been recorded approximately 7,000 times.
This won the Oscar for best song. 👍
I saw it live, Wings over America at the Fabulous Forum. 1976. ✌️
I was there, too. Remember the explosions! Great concert. I saw more recently at Dodger stadium. He was amazing.
@@stangovers7441 I'm still kicking myself for missing that show!
Paul has had an amazing solo career: per Billboard Mag, in the US alone not including the Beatles music, he has had 9 #1 songs, 37 top 40 hits, 7 #1 albums, 14 Platinum records/albums and 24 Gold records/albums
He has also composed a few classical peices.
Like I have said,Plant had a horrible solo gig,he had a 12 year run w Zep,other than that ZIPPO.
Paul received a well deserved knighthood for his services to music. His title is SIR Paul McCartney. But few refer to him as that.
You need to see a video of Paul & Wings doing this in concert. When music gets fast, there are fireworks & lazer lights! Very exciting!!
Now that you've dipped a toe into James Bond theme songs, once again I'm going to suggest Dame Shirley Bassey for Female Friday. She's an iconic Welsh singer (from just down the road from me) who sang the theme songs for Goldfinger, Diamonds Are Forever and Moonraker. Her voice and stage presence are out of this world, honestly guys, you won't regret it.
100%!
Awesome choice!!!!
absolutely co-sign on this. in fact you may discover some of the best musicians had huge hits making Bond themes
I had to look her up after your post, i of course remember the classic Bond themes that she sang and how awesome they were and likewise her vocals. I found a video of her performing Diamonds are forever, now at 85 years old and still as great as i remember, thats really impressive.
YES TO GOLDFINGER!
McCartney is a Genius.
ALL James Bond theme songs were commissioned by artists of the time when each movie came out! It was an honor to be asked to write and perform a James Bond theme song. There’s been many many great artists who have contributed to the James Bond franchise over many many decades with their “Theme Song”. Definitely worth a deep dive into James Bond theme songs!! ✌🏼❤️
Paul has always challenged himself. Maybe 20 or 30 years ago, he actually wrote a bonified, real live symphony and it was actually well received by the Classical Music community!
John always had the soul, Paul could write a melody in his sleep, George was the most spiritual, and Ringo is vastly underrated as a drummer. ✌🏻
Ringo actually had several solo hit songs.
john had Zero soul ...zero..lol........ nasal voice, stiff on stage , dominated by his woman, yet still beat on her like the punk he was.....lol He held McCartney back.
@@LiberalsArePoop well, yes, but he had a lot of help from his friends.
Today is Ringo's birthday. He's 82. Happy Birthday Ringo!
Absolutely agree about Ringo ! I've heard people bash his playing but Ringo always played exactly what the song needed. No more no less. Never over embellished or added unnecessary fills just to show off. Then take into consideration the amount of musical styles the band covered. He played all of it perfectly. Established a great pocket with a little personal flair. Under rated indeed.
Masterpiece--I agree. I've loved this song ever since I was a kid.
Seeing this live with the explosives and fireworks and the jumbo screens makes the song even more incredible than it already is.
J & Amber, you'll love his "Silly Love Songs" and "Band On The Run"!!!! A musical genius!! edit-
"Silly Love Songs" was Paul's response to John Lennon, who said that he wrote too many silly love songs!
Great bassline by Paul!
They reacted to Maybe I'm Amazed.
All of these! Yes!
@@tombeyerlein3813 thank you. they spelled his name MCartney in the title, so my search for McCartney didn't show the song.
I love his bassline on that song!
Yes, Yes, Yes!! Fantastic song - Silly Love Songs!! Paul had a ton of diversity... probably more than any of the Beatles. And the Bass runs... J will love it!! 🙂 @RobSquadReactions
I saw Paul sing this live 30 years ago. It was amazing, complete with fireworks.
It was theme song of a James Bond movie by the same name.🎶🎶
Now you have to check the movie out. 🎬
I knew when he slowed down with violins Amber would sway off her chair. Loved your reactions. Buckets of Maple Syrup love from Canada ❤️ ❤️ 🇨🇦🇨🇦
As a Canadian.. I agree.. They are both wonderful
I saw Paul sing this live at Austin City Limits in 2018. Still with fireworks, and VERY amazing!!!
Just saw him 3 weeks ago in Baltimore, and he’s still using full pyro, fireworks and lasers for this. It was awesome!
I was going to say check it out live. It brings it to another level.
It’s so awesome! You know the show will keep on being amazing when “Live & Let Die” starts. It’s glorious!
Paul absolutely had the best solo career as a musician. John obviously was taken so young so we don't know how that would of worked out. Me and my wife seen Paul in 2013 in Detroit and it was Amazing. The man played 3 hours and sounded amazing ( in his 70s). As for this song you guys Nailed it, it was composed ( by Paul ) for a movie.
And written in ONE day
John and George had better careers than Paul I'm sorry.
He had the best solo career ever! Nobody had the same career after left a band, any musician I believe...
@@Madferit91 by what criteria?😂
Paul, the man of a thousand voices.
Live versions of this song are incredible.
This is Paul McCartney in his own band called the Wing's with his wife, Linda. They had a number of hits on their own
Another movie suggestion, "Live and Let Die" a James Bond movie. There was an entire orchestra playing on this song.
The opening theme song (and credit sequence p) to every James Bind movie is iconic. They have made careers and it’s the ultimate prestige to be invited to do one! I have several that I really like, but this one has to be my favorite!
@@Houston727Gal I hear you. For me though, Shirley Bassey doing _'Goldfinger'_ is the best of the James Bond themes,....aside of course from the character's personal, instrumental, theme because that it so iconic it isn't fair to think about putting it on a list.
Or GOLDFINGER
As a high school freshman this was one of the songs we played in marching band for our halftime show. All the tempo and time changes made it incredibly challenging, but we nailed it and took home first in several contests. So much fun and a great song!
Paul McCarthy wrote this for a James Bond movie and won an Academy Award for it
Theme songs from James Bond/007 movies are almost always big hits made by well-known artists. Think Shirley Bassie/ Goldfinger, Carly Simon/The Spy who Loved me, Adele/Specter, etc. Paul McCartney, a well known hit maker, was brought on to add interest to a movie starring a new James Bond, Roger Moore. Big songs add to the box office sales for movies.
Adele's song was Skyfall and was indeed awesome, as are the others on your list. 😉
@@jasonsabbath6996 Thanks for the correction -- as the politicians say, "I misspoke."
No Time to Die
So many of Bond themes were hits, the last three were written and performed by Sam Smith, Adele, and the brother-sister team of Finneas and Billie Ellish, and all three won Grammys and Oscars for best original songs….and Dame Shirley Bassey recorded three including Goldfinger - all are classics
Gladys Knight too!
Amazingly, when Paul's song was first presented to the 'Live and Let Die' film producer, he asked which female artist they had in mind to do the song. Paul said 'no way is anyone else doing my song'. Seems inconceivable to me that any film producer would reject having Macca sing this truly amazing film theme!
Paul actually wrote a song that was named Song of the DECADE in Europe called "Mull of Kintyre." Amber would absolutely LOVE it! It's gorgeous.
You really need to see this song live to fully appreciate it. He's got mad pyrotechnics going on, and its so heavy!
I saw Paul last month, at Fenway Park, in Boston.
Performed this song, accompanied by great pyrotechnics 🧨
I saw him in The Garden (when it was called that). Had nose bleed seats, but was wonderful. Played almost 3 hours. When he played "Yesterday" he showed pictures of the Beatles and everyone had tears.
My family and I saw him last month in Baltimore, Camden Yards. We saw the same wonderfully pyrotechnic version of "Live and Let Die "!
Uncle Albert/Admiral Halsey will definitely intrigue you both. Paul is a genius, so so many great songs. Band on the Run is great, Silly Love Songs is just plain fun.
Amber would love the horns in Silly Love Songs :)
Yes to all of those
And add the 3rd part of that "Uncle Albert/Admiral Halsey/Smile Away".
Uncle Albert is my favorite Wings Songs. Can’t agree more
You should both re do this song with the recent live version he performed at Glastonbury. 81 years old, the oldest performer to ever headline the premier worlds music festival. The performance of this song was astounding. The music with the stage show and pyrotechnics is something that will blow you away
That was spectacular 😊
I saw this performance on RUclips, it's amazing! I can't believe his energy at his age.
I remember being so impressed by this song when it came out. Of course I already knew who Paul McCartney was, first a Beatle and now basically the king of pop. This impressed because it sounded great AND because it sounded like it belonged in a Bond movie. It showed that McCartney had an untuitive grasp of musical genres and could move between them pretty much at will, while still putting his own unique stamp on it. If I'm not wrong then this began a trend for most later Bond films to include a pop artist influencing some of the score, but I don't think anyone else ever hit the nail on the head so precisely.
Paul's a musical genius. He interwove a ballad, a hype orchestral mix and a reggae break all into one song. Cohesively!
George Martin was as much responsible for this song as Paul McCartney - know the history
@@scottmjohnson1980 Just two clever genius artists put together!
❤ Paul McCartney!!! This was the theme song to the James Bond movie in 1973 'Live and Let Die'
There are any number of reasons to love each of the Beatles' solo careers, but when you talk about both critical and commercial success, the only possible answer can be Paul.
Yes Paul is the Goat!!!!
The interesting thing about the James Bond movie "Live and Let Die", there are parts of this song used throughout the film's symphonic score. The collaborator on this song with Paul was Beatles producer George Martin who also scored the movie.
I think that was the point. Mac wrote a song with lots of different moods & speeds, so that bits could be used for lots of different scenes.
Took my family to a Paul McCartney concert years ago, and we had my two young nieces with us. They were probably 12 and 10, not paying much attention just fooling around on their cell phones. Then they started playing "Live and Let Die." At his concerts when he says the "die" an explosion of pyrotechnics would go off, and at every strong note emphasis. I'll never forget their eyes went wide immediately, and from that point forward their eyes never left the concert. Circa 2005.
I saw him in April in Winston-Salem and this song was probably the high .oint of an all around excellent show for me. Both for the music and the light show. And the sound, which was amazing all night, especially considering it was in a football stadium.
Yeh I saw them July 4 at RFK DC 1980s forget which yes, was so cool when they did this one...
Saw Paul like 5 years ago. Big Beatles fan, never got into his solo stuff too much. That concert shocked me, so amazing, and he played over 2 hours.
@@jwbrkr21 And even as old as he is, by the end of the concert he looks fresh and like he wants to keep going while the band looks absolutely spent :P
I saw Paul in ‘91 at the Vet in Philadelphia, Pa. It was my favorite concert of all time! It was like three hours of Beatles (for the most part), with me in the 16th row CENTER! Anyway, when he played Live and Let Die, after he sang the title like 25 cannons fired off on stage!! It was unbelievable how loud and gut WRENCHING that effect was!!
I would give anything to see this being recorded at Air studios London. I walked past Air studios the other day and could even start to comprehend the importance of that building to the music and movie community.
“I felt like I was sitting in a theater.” In a sense, you were. This was written as the then song to the James Bond movie of the same name (Live And Die). The Bond movies, especially the older ones, are always dramatic and action packed. This song fit the movie perfectly.
Don't know if you've ever seen ANY of the James Bond movies, but IMHO, "Live and Let Die" was the best one that starred Roger Moore (the second of six actors to play him). Of course, Sean Connery will always be the original, so if you decide to do a James Bond movie, do "Goldfinger". It's a classic.
^^^ this
Third, actually. There was George What's his face that played Bond in "On her majesty's secret service." So bad, he was booted off the franchise.
I’d say start with Doctor No and work through in order of release. And yes, no one will ever top Sean Connery.
I always loved Sean Connery( sexy🤭)
Agreed. I'm a Sean Connery guy but Live or Let Die was great and certainly one of the best Bond movies.
SO GOOD! A moment in history! The blasts from Trombones and the violins with the lower trills. So much to do, so little time
Another great Paul McArtney tune is Mull Of Kyntire. Awesome song done once Paul went solo. Little heard on the radio, but fantastic tune.
I love the story where a studio exec said, upon hearing the song, that they needed to cut the "What does it matter to ya?" section, because he didn't like it.
To which another exec responded with something like: "Sure. You can be the one to tell a Beatle how to write a song."
In this life, you got to know your lane!
Love it.
Linda wrote that bridge. She went with her favorite reggae sound.
@@Necile2 Oh brilliant - I didn't know that. It's better than Cook of the House.
One of my fav McCarthy songs is Mull of Kintyre, which features his acoustic skills. The 80-yr old McCartney played a three-hour headline set at Glastonbury last month, some of it joined by Grohl and Springstien. It was watched live by over 4million online. It was phenominal. The guy is unequalled since he first played in the Quarrymen in 1957.
he wrote and performed a classical music piece too. paul could do anything.
If you want another chance with this, listen to the live version, where you'll really get that "BOOM"!
Yes, a cool song that jumps all around. It so fits with the James Bond movie of the same name! And Guns and Roses (who you know!) did a hard cover of it.
Great song. The GNR version isn't as good, but it's still a great take on it and well worth a listen.
I love this version but I also love the Guns and Roses version.
Another great song from a James Bond movie is the title track from 1977's "The Spy Who Loved Me" with Carly Simon killing it.
This is an absolute show-stopper live, I've seen it make a grown-man cry.
This was great. PLEASE DO “OH! DARLING” by The Beatles for one of the best McCartney vocals. Great backing harmonies too
Thank you for your fun reaction! This is the theme to the James Bond movie of the same name and is, in my opinion, the most exciting movie theme ever written. Paul masterfully crafted a song that captures the essence of a James Bond movie. If you get a chance, make sure you check out a version of Paul singing this song in concert, it's a real highlight of his live show with fireworks, explosions and lasers. Your channel is great, keep up the great videos!
Funny your should react with theatrical since this was the theme for the Bond movie "live and let die" and was very likely written for the movie. Paul McCartney and Wings (or solo) I believe were the most successful of the post-Beatles bands/groupings. Perhaps not solo, but I cannot judge that. When i was growing up (Middle to Freshman), my favorite songs were "Listen to What the Man Said", "Helen Wheels", "Band on the Run" and similar.
Y'all should see him perform this live if you want to see something "theatrical". It also went perfectly with the Live and let die Bond film.
"Live And Let Die" is the *best* James Bond song *ever* !😃💖👍
Saw paul McCartney at dodger stadium with a guests Ringo and Joe Walsh, who are in-laws.
I saw Paul live in concert and when he did Live and let die, it sounded like cannons fired, there were explosions and fire, pyrotechnics. It was awesome. You can’t get that same feeling from listening to a recording.
By 14 years old Paul was playing 6 instruments very well to rip out melodies and perform. Guitar, bass, drum, piano, trumpet and sax. Of course at 16 he wrote I'll Follow The Sun, When I'm 64, Love Me Do and I've Just Seen A Face. The latter he would play on piano at family gatherings. During the Cavern Club days when the power went out Paul would entertain the crowd on piano. Paul is a modern day Bach and Beethoven with tons of melodies flowing out of him.
I heard him say that he and John wrote over 300 songs together.
I remember seeing him in concert in the 80’s and when this came on the stadium literally shook.
it was written as a theater song, its the greatest james bond song of the movie of the same name. When he plays this song live, the explosions on stage blow your eardrums out
I get so so moved and happy whenever I watch you two hear a new artist/group. It amazes me how much so. Thanks kiddos
I have seen Paul do this song live many times, and the pyrotechnics are astonishing. His current band (Rusty Anderson, Brian Ray, Abe Laboriel Jr., and Wix Wickens) has been recording and performing with him for twenty years now-longer than any other band line-up that he has ever worked with. They are an amazingly cohesive group of excellent musicians.
Such a great lineup behind him, and Abe is a BEAST.
They are a phenomenal band!
"Astonishing" (pyrotechnics)?
How about if you weren't expecting it, it will scare the living Crap out of you...
I've seen Paul 4 times, the first time was my first concert for Wings Over America (great way to start), but he always brings the house down with this one.
Living Daylights Aha and Duran Duran View to a Kill..
Guns N' Roses recorded a cover of 'Live and let die' in 1991, and made it a huge hit that year.
This was the James Bond movie theme in 1973 for the first Roger Moore 007 movie 'Live and let die'. Paul McCartney was approached by the James Bond producers and he quickly wrote this song... he credited his (late) wife Linda McCartney for adding that reggae section of the song.
I saw this performed live about 6 years ago. It was awesome and included so many fireworks that after the song you could barely see the stage. A great song.
The instrumental part always reminds of the Overture from the Original cast of Jesus Christ Superstar. Ringo is my favorite Not only is his first solo album great even the non radio hits. But the joke not many people got when you put the album on the turntable. Paul was the most talented. John most thoughtful. George most understated. Ringo most fun
I totally agree! Definitely Jesus Christ Superstar vibes!
Ringo, the most fun. I agree!!
"Jet" and "Band on the Run" are my favorite Paul McCartney songs.
ME TOO! ❤💯
This is the theme song for the James Bond movie of the same name. I believe this song won an Oscar.
It was nominated but lost to Barbra Striesand and The Way We Were.
It lost to "The Sting"
He has an Oscar for Let It Be with The Beatles
He was twice nominated and Live And Let Die
@@jamesscully529 I was sure it lost to The Sting, but now I'm not sure
In concert, fireworks were timed after he sang the words 🎶Live and Let Dieeee🎶 and exploded when the two deep kettle drum beats hit and kept going through the music breakdown.
So it was like 🎶Live and Let Dieeee🎶....BOOM...BOOM...🎶Live and Let Dieeee🎶....BOOM...BOOM... And then the sky would open up with a crazy amount of fireworks until the next verse.
My dad took me to see him in Memphis for the Off the Ground Tour back in the early 90s. That concert was amazing.
If you get a chance to see Paul’s live version from his “Got Back” concert you get goosebumps!!
It feels like you are in a theater watching an action film because this is yet another song with ties to a movie you should check out on your movie reaction channel. This song was the title and theme song for the 1973 James Bond film "Live and Let Die" starring Roger Moore. There are so many Bond films with great theme songs that you may enjoy. "A View to A Kill" (1985) featured a theme song by Duran Duran, starred Roger Moore and featured Christopher Walken as well as Grace Jones. "For Your Eyes Only" (1981), also starring Roger Moore, featured a title track by Sheena Easton who might be a good candidate for "Female Friday". I'm sure your viewers could name about a dozen more that are just as good.
"You Only Live Twice" by Nancy Sinatra and "Man With the Golden Gun" by Lulu are also great songs, and then there is the all-time classic, "Goldfinger" by Shirley Bassey. If Rob Squad ever does any kind of focus on classic movie themes, these would make a banger of a Female Friday all by themselves.
@@jonm1114 , Shirley Bassey also sang the Bond movie theme "Diamonds are Forever"
And Thunderball, by Tom Jones!
@@patriciakeith6755 and Moonraker
A View To A Kill was when the theme songs started going downhill.
You guys should react to more Paul McCartney, especially with Wings…
"Band on the Run", "Live and Let Die", "Jet", "Silly Love Songs", "Junior's Farm", "My Love", "Goodnight Tonight"
🎸🤘
Second Silly Love Songs it’s still my favorite Wings song.
Love Take Me Down to the Streets.
You listed 7 of his songs, yet somehow left out two of my favorites: Let 'Em In, and Coming Up.
“My Love” is another beautiful song on this album! Great song!
I'v been to many concerts, but the one that had the biggest impact was seeing Paul and his band in Berkely in 1990. The timed explosions through LIve and Let Day were awesome.
Had the “Best Of Wings” cassette as one of my first tapes when I was a kid. Would be fun to see you give “Uncle Albert / Admiral Halsey” a listen.
Paul McCartney did this song for 007 James Bond Movie - Live and let Die!
More Paul McCartney and the Wings - Band on the Run - Listen to what the Man Said - Uncle Albert - JET - With a little Luck - Goodnight Tonight - Maybe I'm Amazed - Let em In - My Love - Silly Love Songs
& Coming Up -(Live from Glasgow version) ⬆️⬆️🆙️🌷
Like we don't know. He was also in a band called The Beatles. Have you heard of them? They had a minor hit record, and then slipped into obscurity, never to be heard from again.
I really enjoy listening THE music and also your comments and enthusiasm! Love you even more!!!
Linda McCartney co-wrote the song and was musically responsable for the reggae part in the middle. She was a big reggaefan! And it worked perfectly in this song!!
You HAVE to see them play this song live. THE FIREWORKS and EXPLOSIONS! It's truly spectacular! 🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩
Yes!!!! I was thinking the same exact thing! They should watch a live video of it!!
Yes, I saw McCartney in person a few years ago. Could feel the heat from where I was sitting. Great times.
I jumped in my seat when the explosion happened!
This song live with the fireworks...EPIC and always one of the best parts of a Paul McCartney concert. If you can, a life must to see. It's a once in a lifetime experience.
Paul IS the Beatles... Period.
#whythisgirllovesherpaul ❤️
This is one of my favourite Paul McCartney songs. Gotta love a Bond theme song.
Yea,...Paul McCartney ❤️🔥
Watching the opening credits to “Live and Let Die” with the head/skull fire…Lord, my child self was “aaaack!!” 🤣
Awesome song and awesome movie. And yes, listen to “Band on the Run” and “Silly Love Songs.” We played the latter in middle school band back in the day. 😁
This was from post-Beatles band, Wings, and was the theme song for the James Bond film of the same name.
Personally, I like Paul McCartney the best and he's had the most successful post-Beatles career of the four. Of course, there's no telling what John Lennon might have created had he not been murdered.
I can’t believe I get to say I saw him perform this live in 2008. Truly bucket list kind of stuff. Glad you guys vibed so much with it.
Paul was untouchable around this time.. Runout had it that he read a Fleming Bond Novel and composed this song in a few minutes thereafter.. Nobody does that but a genius.
He always has played this song in this key and could still hit that High C note (Helllll) live until recently.
For his vocal range try :I'm down, Monkberry Moon Delights, Oh Darling...
Include: "Helter Skelter"
Just saw him in Knoxville! He’s freaking Amazing! This song is the theme song for the James Bond film Live and Let Die.
Love all of Paul's work with the Beatles & solo with Wings. I had so many of his records. "Band On The Run" is one of the best. But so many other great songs such as "Jet", Live & Let Die", "Listen To What The Man Said", "Silly Love Songs", "Let 'Em In", "My Love", "Helen Wheels", "Let Me Roll It", "Junior's Farm", "Maybe I'm Amazed", "Venus & Mars/Rock Show", "Mull Of Kintyre", "With A Little Luck" etc.
This tune went with the film of the same name Soooooo well, in fact I feel you could not have one without the other, what a film, and what a tune, they don’t do things like this anymore, it belongs in 1973 but is also just timeless 👌🏼
It is incredible to see this song performed live! Holy cow!!! It’s all pyrotechnics and feeling it’s just indescribable
This is one of my favourite McCartney songs. I have seen the Bond movie (you two need to react to it, btw!), and when I saw this man in concert (best show ever!), this was the ENCORE!!! This song rocks, and is AMAZING to see live! You totally need to watch the Bond movie to get its meaning!
My favorite Bond, Roger Moore and it’s my favorite Bond movie.
The top of my head blows up when I've seen Paul do this in person.😄
My favorite beetle is all of them but Paul is good let's not forget Ringo he got a couple of hits on his belt too
To my knowledge Paul McCartney had the most hit songs after he left the Beatles. That being said, they were all really great.🎉
Now on your Movie Channel, you'll have to review "James Bond: Live & Let Die" film this was scored for! It's a WILD film. My first time seeing it was in a hotel in 1978 in NYC when my parents took a trip, so I tuned into a channel, and the movie was on it! Unforgettable song and movie!
You hit it on the head Amber-Paul wrote this for the James Bond flick Live & Let Die. You really need to hear My Love, Band on the run, Uncle Albrert, Listen what the man said & back to his Anazing Beatles gem Here, There & Everywhere & the amazing A Day in the Life. Regarding who had the greatest solo carry it would be Paul McCartney.
Paul and Linda wrote it.
Fall of '73. Great times.
So many instruments at play in this one, too. Love it. And the change-ups!
The Beatles were an amazing group, obviously, and all four members were extremely talented. For my money, Paul McCartney tops the list. McCartney's vocal range is second to none, and as others have commented he plays several instruments and is a songwriting/composing mastermind!
