The 10 second battery swap is probably the most important saftey feature of any electric bike. If there is a battery fire, you can make it a battery fire, rather than a bike fire.
Modern 450s are way overpowered for the average rider. Eli Tomac wishes the manufacturers would start making a 350F so it would be fun again. Josh Hill said the same thing. They are just on for the ride and trying to stay on the bike. They also say supercross tracks are just not big enough for modern 450s and that a 350 class would make it easier to jump for 250 riders rather than moving up to 450s. There would be fewer injuries and deaths too. When riding trails all my buddies are out of control on 450s and can't keep up with my 250 because they are fighting to stay on.
Everything you said was bible. I remember when Yamaha made the 400, then changed to the 450 and I was thinkin.."geez, are people complaining there isn't enough power..?"
I miss the 125 class. Skill is a bigger factor on smaller bikes and it's much more fun to watch. I remember the 85 and super mini classes being some of the best races to watch when I used to go to the track a lot.
Control setup... Replace the shifter with a Regenerative control so you can "down shift" going down hills, and then "up shift" to have it flowy on corners and fast stuff. Keep the power level as a switch on the bars. Braking setup like a MT bike. I don't think you need a clutch anymore.
I’m at the ‘infancy’ stage of exploring buying a frame with valid / clean VIN, and attempting DIY. Obstacles: because eBikes are still New, unclear as to process/possibility of street legal Dual Sport; and, I’m not necessarily electrically inclined (I can Fabricate w/o issue UNTIL anything electrical comes to play). These vids do Inspire ! 🤓
I would be interested in hearing how many miles it can go on a single charge before its un usable. My trail riding on my YZ250FX (2018) takes me anywhere between 15 miles and 20 miles. I spend alot of my time in 2nd and 3rd in tight tech trails. I would want to see that in order for me to commit to full electric.
When were done for a day of trail riding we usually cover about 40/50 miles, whether its long open fast powerline trails to single-track, in the middle of the woods. At least with the gas bike you will know based on how much fuel you have how much firther you can go.. And if you did run out gas, someone could have some gas with them or worst case someone could go get gas. But either way if you run out of battery, and you dont have another one you're going to be getting towed back which is never fun in bad terrain..
Probably going to see alot more urban and vacant land in suburbs riding due to these. Might end up with a new genre of riding kinda like urban dh mountain biking
There will be a market for electric bike parks, both in the countryside and in town. I have a Surron and I don’t get bothered by anyone apart from die hard traditional trials bikes types, who wouldn’t let me ride it at their ground, even though I was riding trials (at my level, which is very much learner!).
If they can keep prices a bit lower than currently projected, I could see this being a pretty cool product. Unfortunately at those prices you can almost get a varg and keep your 250f combustion. Still cool concept
Imma two stroke guy for life. But I have a 450 also. An electric bike. I wouldn’t know how to act on a quiet ass bike. But it’s a new era and you have to adjust
My Sondors Metacycle: Well, when it worked I didn’t like it much. I’m 80 and other than chasing my Pekingese I don’t ride in the dirt anymore. It’s now a BRICK! So I’m now going figure out what electric motorcycle is next. I’m thinking about the Zero FXE. I currently have a 72 Volt SurRon…WHICH WORKS! It’s fun but I don’t ride it like it should be ridden, trying to preserve these old bones.

How are the original batteries for the bike. The top battery killers are heat and vibration. Interested in the life cycle of a battery for e-moto, e dirt bikes.
I've mute the sound and you can never tell that it was an electric dirt bike.. it just run so smooth...aside from little flaws it just so good.. I was wondering if somehow the bike fall and it will not start again.. how durable it is as riders don't wanna stuck up in the middle of the forest
These would be great for enduro competitions. Just setup the stops for a quick battery change and mouthful of water. I used to ride a kawasaki kxf 450 petrol enduro bike and it was exhausting 😊😊
Very nice video review and super interesting product. However, some important stats are absent: 1) what was the before and after weight of the bike conversion? and 2) how many minutes were you able to ride like that on the 4.3kWh battery? Also interesting would be how far were you able to ride at a moderate pace on logging roads? Without that kind of basic data, it kind of feels like you are lying by omission.
What kind of power are these making? For the price it should significant better then the Sur Ron Ultra Bee? As the kit itself is around 10 K plus you need a bike to convert.
I wonder if a slipper clutch type mechanism wouldn't fix the issue when landing a jump at full throttle? Set it to slip when the tire tries to feed more power back through regen than the system can handle.

@@badgermetal Riding a "slow" bike fast is more fun than riding a fast bike slow.
Control setup... Replace the shifter with a Regenerative control so you can "down shift" going down hills, and then "up shift" to have it flowy on corners and fast stuff. Keep the power level as a switch on the bars. Braking setup like a MT bike. I don't think you need a clutch anymore.
Electric is incredible-remove clutch/shifting-add balance + awareness.
Clutch is fun though
Shifiting is part of the fun. EV while fast is boring. I drive a 6 speed car and test drove a couple of EV's and I was bored within 20 minutes.
@@Lukey-ts2xv clutch is essential
I’m at the ‘infancy’ stage of exploring buying a frame with valid / clean VIN, and attempting DIY. Obstacles: because eBikes are still New, unclear as to process/possibility of street legal Dual Sport; and, I’m not necessarily electrically inclined (I can Fabricate w/o issue UNTIL anything electrical comes to play).
These vids do Inspire ! 🤓
I dig the stealth of the bike a lot! I want one!
I love the smell of cam 2 in the morning.
Great idea putting in a well proven chassis
There is no way I would go see an MX event with electric bikes, no noise, no smell, not interested
@@Ukmongoose3 skiers used to hate snowboarders. It's tribal if you commit a little too much to a certain thing.
@@headmondronary2127 It was because they thought my bike was a handbag snatching tool, I think. But the funny thing is I am 66 and very well behaved!
Super cool! Gonna keep tabs on this one for sure.
Same here! This conversion kit is only $10k I'm so excited for this!
I’ve been thinking 2 xlx2’s combined would be killer on an bike.
Finally. A factory e bike I can support
Amazing, its the nobody knows you're having fun thats the best 👌 no noise
My Sondors Metacycle: Well, when it worked I didn’t like it much. I’m 80 and other than chasing my Pekingese I don’t ride in the dirt anymore. It’s now a BRICK! So I’m now going figure out what electric motorcycle is next. I’m thinking about the Zero FXE.
I currently have a 72 Volt SurRon…WHICH WORKS! It’s fun but I don’t ride it like it should be ridden, trying to preserve these old bones.
Do any of them keep the clutch? I've without any gears I would still like to have a clutch I just enjoy using it
In the video they xbmx guy said a clutch could e coming in the near future
yes a clutch would be awesome
Eather qith lefthand rear brake your hand is fine or with clutch like the french electric trials bike ..
Try an electric stove burner to soak up the regeneration, HAAS CNC does this. Obviously would need to be converted to the bike differently long term.
What happens if the reverse button gets pressed while riding? Like if a branch or stick hits it?
This bike is urgently required in Saudi Arabia. How much is its price? It is really a better and stronger beast than Surron strom bee
How heavy is the bike?
I seen somebody with one of these driving through Rio Vista one day. Looked exactly like that one dirt bike magazine test ride one from a few years back
I race the same series as these bikes and they absolutely rip. Holeshot every race
How are the original batteries for the bike. The top battery killers are heat and vibration. Interested in the life cycle of a battery for e-moto, e dirt bikes.
Looks awesome!
Would love to try a conversion like that.
Seems to be a golden mix.
Yo, great video. Love the conversion kit and how it can retrofit ICE bikes. Where are you testing?
I've mute the sound and you can never tell that it was an electric dirt bike.. it just run so smooth...aside from little flaws it just so good.. I was wondering if somehow the bike fall and it will not start again.. how durable it is as riders don't wanna stuck up in the middle of the forest
These would be great for enduro competitions. Just setup the stops for a quick battery change and mouthful of water. I used to ride a kawasaki kxf 450 petrol enduro bike and it was exhausting 😊😊
Unfortunately if we make the switch from gas to electric moto will be a even more expensive sport to compete in.
Much cheaper. Little fuel cost and little maintenance.
It looks like they merged the electric to the clutch system.
My luck id be 10 miles from my truck when that 1% fault happened. Electric is definitely the future though.
If this is the future of MX and Motorcycles in general, I think I'll go to mopeds.
That guy was shifting!! Wow !
As it is I’m interested.
Once the refinements increase and the price point comes down, it could be the future I might embrace.
I knew someone was going to do this.
What kind of power are these making? For the price it should significant better then the Sur Ron Ultra Bee? As the kit itself is around 10 K plus you need a bike to convert.
Cutting edge stuff. Very cool.
I wonder if a slipper clutch type mechanism wouldn't fix the issue when landing a jump at full throttle? Set it to slip when the tire tries to feed more power back through regen than the system can handle.
need one for my DRZ tired of carbs and fixing shit, electric is my answer
That is such a cool bike, I'd love to test one.
