In the snowboard world, getting in and out of closed terrain that normally wouldnt be accessible unless you are really good, and not caught is key. Its called SWIFT SILENT DEEP. These electric dirtbikes bring your previously just imagined riding spots that you could never get away with riding on a 2 stroke because of the noise alone to fruition. You can get in, rip a sick jump or couple of turns and vanish, leaving nothing but rubber marks. Sounds like an absolute dream to me. 🤷♂️

Watching this saddens me like when this sport went from 2t to 4t bikes. The only difference is this will be the death of the sport since I don't think anyone is going to want to watch a bunch of nearly silent bikes go around the track. With out being able to hear the roar of the engine, the thump in your chest as the bike goes by, and the smell of the race fuel being burned (my favorite is still 2t exhaust) this is going to be a lot less fun to watch. Watching awesome riders do things on 2 wheels I can only wish to do will not be enough to have me show up and watch, or tune in on tv since all I will be seeing is great riders yelling at each other as they try to pass and not run into each other. Sad days ahead.
Seeing this pilot riding an electric motorcycle, which doesn't make any noise, completely took away the fun, I was looking at something that didn't show where the pilot was accelerating or showing his riding intensity, in short, for fans it became somewhat disappointing to see an electric motorcycle.

As far as it killing the sport, you really believe that? I think it’ll change it significantly, but actually do the opposite of killing it. The sport will die as we know it, but it will most likely strengthen it as a whole. the biggest killer of the sport so far for the whole 40 years I’ve participated in it has always been sound. Even when people complain about dust it’s still typically the noise being a bigger problem. With zero noise people could ride in their yards in places never before considered. I don’t really know what direction that will take it,but I really don’t think it’s going to be death. These bikes will take over even more than the way the 4 strokes did. I by no means like the idea of that, but I also miss the races when it was all 2 strokes. I also love riding 4 strokes now. I think it would be awesome if the introduction to racing with E-bikes was separated from gas motorcycles, just so gas doesn’t disappear except for the 5-10 guys at the track that hold out and try to keep the noise alive. Pro racing will be interesting listening to the guys yelling at each other mid race.😂😂

In my opinion, electric is definitely gonna have its place and will be great for noise restricted areas and open many doors.. that being said, I don’t think ( or want ) they will ever take over ama pro supercross or motocross. Atleast in my life time. But I do think that if Stark wants to have a factory team race the pro series that the ama should allow them..
4 strokes took over so the electric bikes could do the same. As the guy mentioned above the 2 strokes now have to race a class higher which is just ridiculous. The only issue I have with a 4 stroke is the sound. The 2 strokes sound so much better and the sound is critical to the fan base as well as small kids who will be the future of motocross. An electric bike is silly but there will be someone out there that likes them. This goes to show we can’t drift far from what a true race bike should be. Hell they restricted the sport for the damn 4 stroke making their own classes and making two strokes step up to the next class. Such crap and the reason so many have no interest anymore and not gaining new fans. The sport is a tough blue collar sport yet the bikes are not affordable to them so the bikes from the beginning are falling into the hands of the wrong kids. Middle class and poor kids need a chance to ride and race
@terracer I tell you that the two strokes are far superior than any 4 stroke. This is way they make them race a class up and restricted the pro class to 250 and 450 now. I really don’t have an answer but I know it’s not the EPA because after some research it was Honda and Yamaha pushing these 4 strokes and why I don’t know because Honda had the best 2 stroke ever. I turned my back on motocross in the mid 2000’s and next thing you know all the 2 strokes were gone. It was sickening. If the EPA was behind this then they wouldn’t be making 2 strokes still which they still do. The other issue is no one wants to buy them only to have to race a class up which is not fair and just stupid when you think about it. If it’s a 250 then it should race the 250 class period. Also if you think of all racing the EPA can’t do anything to them such as all car racing and also superbikes and all those out out a heck of a lot more fuel in the air

I have a question. Was the rider yelling at the other riders as he was going to pass to let them know he was there? Could they really hear him if he was?
Right about now the officials are asking, "What are we gonna do about these electric bikes?" Personally they seem like fun but a race of whisper quiet bikes, just wouldn't attract me to a day at the races. Also part of the emotion of racing is the sound. I'm an Old 2 Stroke guy who use to race in the 80's and saw the introduction of 4 strokes and 2 strokes fazed out. We use to have a 4 stroke class where people mainly raced YZ two stroke frames with XR Honda motors, long before the companies were making four stroke racers, my point is that we had a separate class for 4 strokes as the main bikes were two strokes, I think Electric bikes should have their own class, we should though bring back 2 strokes, perhaps race 380cc 2's against the 450cc 4's
9.29.23 Where is this race at? How did 661 beat the Stark on the start? Like seeing the Stark racing and beating the gas bikes. The test will be how the Stark will hold up doing more races. Is this the Open Pro Class?
It's clear gas powered dirt bikes will be slow noisy antiques very soon...a gas powered bike will be a complete joke...give ele another year and gas bikes will simply not be able to keep up ....😂..just the way it is...
For this race the bike was actually dialled down to match the horsepower of the four strokes. If this was cranked up to its max the gap would be ridiculous. Hard pill to swallow for us but it looks like this may be the very near future. Its a sad day for Mx
I don’t think its’s necessarily a sad day, this may be faster, but motorsport, for most people, js about fun, not performance, and the level of fun that ICE provides will never be matched.
Comparing an E-bike to a fuel burner is like comparing an BBQ to a microwave oven, a microwave oven will cook faster, but no one ever wished for a microwaved steak. Just because you can, doesn't mean you should.
What a joke. Now put it up against a good 2-stroke. They made 125 2-strokes run against 250 4-strokes and 250 2-strokes run against 450 4-strokes because 4-strokes are so heavy and slow. Remember that the AMA/Harley Davidson had 2-strokes banned in flat track racing because Ray Abrams beat the 750 4-stroke tanks with a measly little 350 2-sroke twin. Had the same power as the Harley but weighed 100 lbs. less. It wasn't close. Take a good modern 2-stoke engine like the BRC Yamaha and KTM based 500 engines that have a balance shaft, EFI and even electric start, put it in a modern frame and suspension and it would destroy the 450 4-strokes (you can even bore the 450s to 500) and the battery powered kiddy toys.
Video after video of the start varg just truly impressing me even though I love the smell of two strokes. But times are changing and Stark has truly built a competitive bike. Now if they can just get those batteries to last a full 3 hours for a GNCC race you will see a lot of people racing them. Great ride by the way you are the got past him easier if he wouldn't have did such a good job blocking you but as soon as you got the first chance all he saw was your rear end ride by😊
Even if they are faster,I don’t care!! It’s not fun to ride or watch for the crowd.imagine a race with no engine sound, the smell of a race engine…just a field full of vacuum cleaners sound🤮it’s over for me if that happens! Don’t promote these electric dust busters!!! It’s a shame for the sport
For people that are still hide behind ICE (internal combustion engine) just wake up to embrace and get on board with EV advancement. That winning bike is just 3-phase motor and old lithium-ion battery. There are stronger EV engine and lighter solid state battery coming soon
Ok now have a refueling race, see who wins. Or better yet, a cross country race, that requires refueling at least twice. Then compare costs. So with the elec to compete, it would HAVE to be a battery swap, as there is no time to charge. At a cost of at least several hundred dollars per battery, the obvious winner will be the gas powered bikes. You also hear VERY LITTLE about battery and elec motor life, from the pro elec crowd. That ALL adds to total cost of operation. Electrics can be fun, but this thing of forcing it down peoples throats as the salvation of the planet is a total lie. Especially as power grids get weaker and weaker as more plants are shut down, just imagine trying to take a trip, only to find the grid is down, or like we see here in CA, the governor asks you not to charge, so people can have AC.
EV has no power band just 100% hp at all RPM unlike a combustion engine has a curve. The day when someone figures out battery side will be the end of combustion engines.
Technology that help people do better, will always come out ahead. Visualize dog fight between Wright Brothers plane and an F15, you are with serious face and tell me it’s about the pilot?
You cannot compare motorcycles against each other like this. One of the previous comments stated it’s the rider, not the bike. This is perfectly correct. Take the electric bike and give it to another rider and the electric bike will lose, possibly proving that e-bike are not up to par. Do a proper test. Same rider, same track, same conditions, timed laps, same tires, etc. this video proves nothing!
So, 250 two stroke gets “beaten” by 450 4 stroke. So now their going to do it again, pit a bike with better hp output against another for the win. Apples and oranges, they need to bring back 500cc two strokes to compete again!
It's fast but it's quiet for me that means the voices will get louder also it's a safety hazard, but running a generator on cheap pump gas rather than expensive race fuel, 🤔
It is what it is if that’s the direction this sport is going then that’s the way it’s going get used to it , just like I’m not a fan of four strokes as growing up with 2 strokes I associate the smell of 2 stroke exhaust with Sunday , race day!, doesn’t mean they are not good but that’s not what I was used to

Completely soulless machine. Never will care for them or own one.
You can't ride 2 or 4 stroke either.😂😂😂😂
You can't ride anyway that's why you'r watching the races.🤣🤣🤣
So rad! Excellent riding Nico and Jeremy! ⚡⚡⚡⚡⚡
That was like bringing a stealth fighter to a cesna airplane race. The lack of noise alone gives it a higher advantage. You just have to keep looking forward and speed up if you here noise behind you and focus on getting around the noise in front of you full control and concentration on voing faster and faster. That would have beenore of a challenge had you raced each lap trying to beat your fastest time having movingvobstacles showing up. That machine is amazing.
Your title should probably give proper credit to the varg! People need to understand this is no Sur-ron.
Riders win, not bikes
Not always
Start is better for electric, no clutch
Really? Please explain Doug Henry coming out of nowhere leading every lap in 1997 to beat all the top pros in supercross on a yz400 while everybody else was riding 250 two strokes?
Sorry, to butt in, because I’m not here for the argument. Electric bikes will dominate. Also, Doug Henry didn’t come out of nowhere, he was a 125 champion. That’s all I had to add, proceed. 😁
@@jad2484 shit rider on fast bike loses to fast rider on shit bike

Rv, jh, TC etc etc would whoop you on an 80 if you had a 450 or some stupid ass battery bike that can't work in anything that's not Perfectlygroomed
Every thing is getting more and more boring. Its even some assholes out there destroying classic cars putting electric engines in them. Soon some one will take out a Merlin from a Spitfire and make it electric.
Just doesn’t vibe the same… something about the sound of a gasser. Not to mention it’s dangerous not hearing where the electric bike is at, your screaming didn’t do a damn thing… E bikes are alright in thought I suppose, but not a big fan! Good race!
I think around 4:46, a 2-stroke had caught him and passed him... that's why there cut in the video at that point Lol
That is a little suspect. I’m not sure though.
Coen was very unpredictable. Doesn't look fun to be behind him lol
I still prefer my CR 250 2 stroke. Yes I've had 4 strokes, several.
I will never to get used to, or enjoy, that awful whirring sound.
If they make changeable battery packs ( r/c cars, tools, etc). That you could swap between motos , the gas engines are finished.
Love watching electric dominate Ice. I hope people watching understand how much better electric vehicles are. Electric is what any ice car guy has been tying to make their car with bigger exhausts turbos etc. but way simpler and just so much better. I destroyed a $350k Porsche turbo on a hiway mountain race with my Rivian, could have done it still even with this electric dirt bike in the box…
Ma non dire cazzate😂
@5:57 Some kid clearly yells out "Electrics Suck!"
I would like to see a few comparable pro's run the varg up against a 450 or 500 2-stroke.... and then swap bikes to get a better understanding of which actually does dominate...
There are some videos out now doing just that!
Plenty of RUclips videos for you to search
No need to be upset. Now you have a 3rd choice when it comes to dirtbikes. 4 stroke, 2 stroke or electric.

It’s a spectator sport and without spectators watching at the track, on TV and online, it would be in trouble. I don’t think the fans want to hear 40 electric bikes squeaking around the track. 😂 They want the roar of engines. That said, I think there is a place for adding an electric class.
Supercross gets way more attendance because it's in stadium located in cities moto tracks get less attendance because they are far away from cities.
They have to be far away because of noise
The Supercross E 50 class is one of my favorites. No hearing protection for the kids and you can actually talk about the race during the race.
Exactly...the sounds of horsepower not the purring and whining
Whatever YOU think.....
We owe a great debt to the heroes of the ICE era. The noise! The spectacle! The dexterity required to deal with throttle, clutch, gears, etc. It was an age of legends. Hard men with the courage and crazy to push the sport to the edge of the possible. Nothing is lost, or forgotten about the ice age. It was and always will be special. It will just be the second fastest way to enjoy the sport of motocross going forward.
Well said.

Wow. Almost like it’s instant power, with no clutch, and no gears to shift. Although fun to ride in my opinion, the day motocross goes to EV in sanctioned events is the day the sport dies.
Not for all people.😂😂😂
Electric is fast just like flipping a light switch... gone by by suckers.
@@mittiejackson3427 hahaha literally if you can physically handle the bike it’s like Darth Sidious in Star Wars III Revenge of the Sith “Unlimited Powerrrrrr”
They’re like 600 ft lbs of torq. Insane. I hear that they’re going to make some sort of brake on the handle bars that acts kinda like a clutch in the way of slipping it to scrub off some power.
@@chadsanner792 Yelp, when I raced back in the 70's and 80's racing didn't start till 1:00 pm.
I want to know what number gearing he ran? Another pro rider rode one in the woods and it was set on 2 or 3 and he said that was almost to fast. I think it goes to 6 or 8! Insane! Cant wait to ride it, my son ordered one it should be here in November yee yee!
It to fast for that gasoline bullshit.
Please don't let electric bikes take over. The sound and the smell of racing fuel is part of the mx experience. Ahhhh!!!!
Thanks for stating what many are missing.
Smell this .
Or let the same cc 4t and 2t run with each other???? That’s what we all actually want to see
No clutch, no shifting, no way.
@@zackk695 let's see middle class and poor kids get off there LAZY butts and work and buy a bike and lay down those x boxes and skate boards. All they want to do is walk the streets and show off tennis shoes.... the hell with them lock them up and feed them beans.
You can keep all that 2 stroke noise and smoke.
I have a question. Was the rider yelling at the other riders as he was going to pass to let them know he was there? Could they really hear him if he was?
How is the classes sorted? I mean is there some way to equate the capacity of an electric bike so it's comparable to cc's?
Horsepower maybe. then dial the Electric bikes to match the 4 strokes
anyone else notice at least half the track marshalls not paying attention, just staring off into space? that was sweet though.
661 was on an electric bike also.
Is it you or the bike?
Your a very good rider!
It's clear gas powered dirt bikes will be slow noisy antiques very soon...a gas powered bike will be a complete joke...give ele another year and gas bikes will simply not be able to keep up ....😂..just the way it is...
Was 661 also on an electric bike (see 1:38)?
YES
actually will open the way for mx tracks in suburban areas that will be electric only and won't get closed down due to noise.
I'm sold. Where can I get one?
For this race the bike was actually dialled down to match the horsepower of the four strokes. If this was cranked up to its max the gap would be ridiculous. Hard pill to swallow for us but it looks like this may be the very near future. Its a sad day for Mx
I don’t think its’s necessarily a sad day, this may be faster, but motorsport, for most people, js about fun, not performance, and the level of fun that ICE provides will never be matched.
Change is always bad
Damn that thing is rolling 🤣😲
Well, so much running the hell out of your bike to get the blue exhaust badge 😂 i dig these electric bikes 🤙🏻 always gonna be a gasser fan tho 🤘🏻
This was really satisfying to watch. Well done!
Amazing we all lost so many spot cause of the noise and yes not having clutch is one less thing to worry
This is definitely a game changer can’t wait to see where we’re at in say 5 years this is going to be like formula1 on dirt 😂
I'm a 2 stroke MX BIKE person but strangely enough. I think electronic MX will be faster and ,a lot better for indoor motor cross
These are all GEN 1 MX-e bikes... The GEN 2s are now the end of the ICE BIKE.Alta=Gen1 Was :Innovation, Stark Varg=GEN 2 is :Domination
Comparing an E-bike to a fuel burner is like comparing an BBQ to a microwave oven, a microwave oven will cook faster, but no one ever wished for a microwaved steak. Just because you can, doesn't mean you should.
......so pithy
If a guy yells at me when he's going to pass me I just might go and punch him the face after the race

Take a good modern 2-stoke engine like the BRC Yamaha and KTM based 500 engines that have a balance shaft, EFI and even electric start, put it in a modern frame and suspension and it would destroy the 450 4-strokes (you can even bore the 450s to 500) and the battery powered kiddy toys.
take it home, plug it in. I'm sorry.
I'm not surprised that the E-bike had that much power, but rather, that it could do it that long on one charge! That was incredible.
Do you think they run on AA batteries or something??
crazy enough i bet its not even at 50%

Video after video of the start varg just truly impressing me even though I love the smell of two strokes. But times are changing and Stark has truly built a competitive bike. Now if they can just get those batteries to last a full 3 hours for a GNCC race you will see a lot of people racing them. Great ride by the way you are the got past him easier if he wouldn't have did such a good job blocking you but as soon as you got the first chance all he saw was your rear end ride by😊
Like an aluminum baseball bat.. the 'tink' just isn't like the crack of the wood.
the growling engine sound is half of the race experience.
Im always gonna be a 4 stroke person no matter what but this thing looks fun
LOL, will the AMA disallow these new electrics to race against the comparatively underpowered four strokes?
Thing is, if all the bikes were electric, none of the neighbors would complain about the noise/smell. Could have more tracks in more places...
Technology that help people do better, will always come out ahead. Visualize dog fight between Wright Brothers plane and an F15, you are with serious face and tell me it’s about the pilot?
80hp vs 60hp...after a year e bike will 9verheat and burn..simple
That was boring as hell. The guy riding the electric bike did a great job just flipping boring.
It's fast but it's quiet for me that means the voices will get louder also it's a safety hazard, but running a generator on cheap pump gas rather than expensive race fuel, 🤔
Other than sounding like a Barbie Jeep toy, it's pretty cool.
The death of all motor sports. The dentist drill! ZZZzssss!
