Nice vid! Please tell people that you should NEVER LEAVE YOUR BATTERY CHARGED FOR MORE THAN 1-1.5DAYS. To keep it happy it should be 35-55% when stored for more than a day or two. Otherwise the inner resistance of the battery will start to go up and performance/range will be lost. So wierd that all rc toys have storagemode on almost every charger these days but no ebikes have it.
You beat me to it! I could probably do it with my charger it would just take me longer than a regular battery! Are they discharging and balancing the cells with the chargers that come with these?
It's not 2 to 2 days. It's 1 to 2 weeks. Battery can %100 stay charged to full for two days without any issues. This isn't 2015 anymore. Battery tech is far more advanced now
You should not leave any EV charged at 100% unless you are planning to use it right way. EV's are most happy when the battery cluster is less than 90% charged. @@tintin6291

I wondered the same. I imagine the phone is primarily for adjusting settings. So if it breaks in a crash when out riding, you wouldn't be stranded. Just curious how robust it is in typical MX crashes. Hopefully replacing isn't mega expensive and probably will have options later for covering the screen to keep it protected more I'm sure.

quit your bitching the resale on your bike would be 3k in 2 years its lighter than a 450 its not that much heavyer than a 250 and the stark has quintuple the amount of stuff that can be done motor wise without spending 10k
I guess if the most boring race of your life is unreal. I literally tried to watch a video of a stark racing and I couldn't because it was so boring! Get your quiet machines away from a sport built on the sound and feel.
I think this is going to be" the wave of the future. " This is a great first attempt but as we all know its lacking in range. Most dirt bikes see more offroad time than track time so range (miles ridden) and time are the most important factors. The next important thing will be is it reliable. All this electronic gadget, trickery, wizardry works well on paper, but when put in production electronic parts fail and there is no telling when a sensor or controller or circuit board will let go . Can these electrical components handle the pounding and vibrations a dirt bike is subject to? I believe the biggest mistake Stark Varg made is that the battery is not easily changeable. Think power tools, I can change the battery on my Dewalt tools in seconds. I'm interested but the bike needs more refinement, and honestly being that this is a new manufacturer, I'll wait and see if they survive. I' m probably more likely to buy an electric dirtbike from the legacy manufacturers Yamaha, Honda, KTM ect... due to their history, engineering and financial strength. I ride out in the desert with my friends. We do 30-60 mile loops 3-4 hours at a time. The Stark Varg at the moment wont work for me. In closing I want to make a few suggestions. 1. It needs a quick change battery. 2. It needs more range. 3. It needs to weigh less than the current 4 strokes. 4. It should cost less than a current 4 stroke 5. I shouldn’t have to clip in my phone. I should be able to program 3 modes of power of my choosing and be able to select with a simple push of a button, in addition it needs a light to indicate your at 10% power left or whatever reserve percentage you choose. I'm interested but not ready to purchase. For now I'll stick with my 20yo KX500 which has never let me down or left me walking.
you gotta remember though that these bikes were only released a little over a year ago i say give them a little time and i hope they would take up on some of these ideas for the future models
its really cool. I'm sure they thought about what happens if you crash and that phone cradle get damaged while you are far from the truck. Would the bike be a brick. Or during a very muddy race I am sure the bike is sealed but you need a secondary place to keep that phone. Best electric bike I have seen though

Can someone confirm the range, based on what is shown in the video. One of the rides was 5 miles for 38% of the battery. Does that mean the battery runs out in 15 miles / 45 minutes of riding? I can't find reliable information about the real world range, no youtuber wants to talk about it.
Battery life is highly dependent on how you ride and what you ride. You should get 40 to 60 miles on a charge but obviously if you use 80hp you'll waste it in 30 mins.
I believe Stark Varg hasn’t thought of everything. I believe the countershaft sprocket is to close to the swingarm. So close in fact that it can get jammed against swingarm with small stones and mud. Which can break things. Please check and see if their is a remedy.
The closer the countershaft is to the swingarm pivot; the less the chain tension changes with suspension movement. That is not a bad thing. I think that your worries about rocks and mud wrecking things is more theoretical than real.

Rotating mass in the engine (on different axis) act like a gyro making the bike want to assume an upright position when the engine is rotating. 4strokes have a crank and valve train all rotating in line with the frame. 2strokes only have the crank. So 4strokes are more difficult to lay over into turns, especially slow turns, because of the rotating valve train is high in the frame. The electric motor will be low in the frame and will have reduced gyro effect (unless it spins really really fast, I'm not sure about that)
@@abpob6052 interesting. I knew there was some gyro effect I just didnt understand why it would prefer the direction of vertical. The stark motor would be small rotating mass and likely high rpm. It appears to have a single stage gear reduction.

I wish I could afford one. Can they be made street legal or are they legal. I'd want headlight and tail light. Turn signals eh don't need them. I'll hand signal if needed. Not that anyone really knows hand signals except vintage bikes riders.
Why would it need a clutch. It’s electric.
255 is not heavy
Great video.
Thank means a lot coming from The GURU! Thank you 🙏
How did you get the tools free with the bike? I have my pre order but the tools are an extra £500
no it comes with the bike like he said
@@nick_moto_5500 No they don't, that's why i asked. Check their site
So wierd that all rc toys have storagemode on almost every charger these days but no ebikes have it.
good to know! thank you for the comment and education!
Make a street legal supermoto version and I'll bite
Do a RUclips search. They have supermoto mods!
He is wrong in this video, you can buy ktm sumo wheels to fit this bike
are they street legal ?
great question, as of right now they don't make a street legal version. But ive already seen ppl modifying the to be ridden on street.
The phone feature is kind of dumb... just put it into a display.
what the hell does "instant power" mean I am pretty sure when I twist the throttle my dirt bike starts moving.
Is this street legal?
Not as you see it in this video, no mirrors for lights come on it stock. but ive seen them modded to be supermotos so many soon
Can I save a $1,000 by ordering cheaper brakes?
The death of all motor sports. The dentist drill! ZZZzssss!
hello, good video, i love the bike, but how do you know that it has "true" 80 hp ? there is video on yt stark varg on dyno, it has 67 hp in 80 hp mode. sorry for bad english
yes there are a few videos out now with the stark on a dyne and ive seen mixed numbers. Some of it seems to come down to if a slick tire is on the bike or a knobby. I believe its 80hp
@@the_motofam thanks for clarification
@@bojanfifa7904 someone did a dyno and got 68 HP in 80 Hp mode. Just saying.

I’d say 80 hp for most Varg users is definitely in the gray area………
I'd guess that 99.99% of riders could ride the bike faster with the motor set at 40 -50 hp than they could with it set at 80 hp.
Swedish enginerig 👍
🔥💯
They are imposing electrified motorcycles on us, something that most of us do not want...Long live the carburetor...
why didnt alta work out?
great question, it all comes down to a deal they made with Harley Davidson that ended bankrupting them
I have one. It won’t charge. Help me
STARK VARG
Only an hour of ride time , ya no thanks.
80hp is certainly going to cause battery wear and tear! It would be like running your cell phone at 100% screen brightness always
Lmao. That's not how this works bro.
80hp will put more stress on the mechanical components not the battery
how?

This as a supermoto would sell out.
Will probably come as an option with slicks
What happens if the phone breaks? How long will it take to get a new phone that way you can ride the bike again?
I wondered the same. I imagine the phone is primarily for adjusting settings. So if it breaks in a crash when out riding, you wouldn't be stranded. Just curious how robust it is in typical MX crashes. Hopefully replacing isn't mega expensive and probably will have options later for covering the screen to keep it protected more I'm sure.
Super gay could you imagine going to supercross or motocross and just hearing gay e-bikes.
exactly ,this sport is about sound and feel
theres a chance higher than snoop dog that this will have its own class even own event
its probably amazin bike beautiful and so on but i heard u cannot use it without the phone or stark varg app which mean in some near future that bitch will be hackable and even on the 80cv mode it will be 100% trackable and shit
If you ever get yours, they just delayed all orders yet again, ordered in Feb 2022, and now delayed until April 2024, frikin bs
Are you in Arizona?
I would hope to get a phone and toolbox, the bike is 19500 here in Australia, OUCH.
And not a word on power delivery without clutch...
This company is insane.
Going to buy one as soon as they can be registered for on road driving here in Dubai.
Why lie about the weight? It’s 263 pounds.
Awesome, Hope they end up having a clutch option like Electric Motion has.
the tool set is cool and all, but you also spent $14,000.
Absolutely awesome🔥
Street legal version??
That would be awesome! I haven't heard anything about street legal type, but I have seen ppl put street tires on them and ride them on the street (illegally 😂)
First time being excited to eventualy owning ev vehicle.
Many congratulations Stark Futur, to be tested but very promising 🙏
That bike sucks ass and is heavy as a tank. My Husky 250 weighs 228 lbs bud. Light and easy to ride. What do you think resale on that bike will be 3 years from now?? 4500-5000? Hard pass on that POS
quit your bitching the resale on your bike would be 3k in 2 years its lighter than a 450 its not that much heavyer than a 250 and the stark has quintuple the amount of stuff that can be done motor wise without spending 10k
AWESOME bike are they going to bring out an enduro version?
This would make supercross unreal
Absolutely agree!
Brother, you paid for the tool set!
no don't say nothing about adding tool sets for price
I think this guy is riding a dirtbike for the first time in his life!
No english can say the name right.. 😂
its really cool. I'm sure they thought about what happens if you crash and that phone cradle get damaged while you are far from the truck. Would the bike be a brick. Or during a very muddy race I am sure the bike is sealed but you need a secondary place to keep that phone. Best electric bike I have seen though
Your pocket.
Waiting for a street legal version
Android phone as a dash? that's neat.
Does anyone know the hightspeed...?
I'd get one if I had the money
how long does the battery last?
ppl say they are getting about 2 hours at the track
500 charge cycles. Then a new battery is about £6500

You should get 40 to 60 miles on a charge but obviously if you use 80hp you'll waste it in 30 mins.
i test rode on a slippery hard pack mx track and drained about 8% per lap ( approx 2km coarse , engine power set to 50hp which was plenty )
Look up the Josh hill stark varg vid ... 1hr 15mins of vigorous track riding and 40% batt. remaining
I believe Stark Varg hasn’t thought of everything.
I believe the countershaft sprocket is to close to the swingarm. So close in fact that it can get jammed against swingarm with small stones and mud. Which can break things. Please check and see if their is a remedy.
Needs a clutch also
The closer the countershaft is to the swingarm pivot; the less the chain tension changes with suspension movement. That is not a bad thing. I think that your worries about rocks and mud wrecking things is more theoretical than real.
@user-fz8fy4zl1c those are always close and have been since forever
Boring, stop destroying what we love, this sport is about sound and engine we don’t want a silent grass mower sound bike

@@nick_moto_5500 I am hoping for this, I tried watching a vid of a stark race and It was so boring without the sound or anything. I just couldn't watch it. I love my 125 2s and I hope they keep it in different classes. And even if it got to 450 class, even at like 50 horsepower mode, its still just no skill throttle only. This wouldn't only be boring but also unfair if they don't keep e bikes in their own class.
Great video!!!
Before you buy a stark get a beater 125 two stroke and live the raw old school moto dream then decide if you wanna zap zap haha 2 stroke or dieeeeee 👊😎
can't argue with that, solid advice TBH ✅
how much did it cost?
Out the door $14,000.00 USD
I'm trying to get one but do you need the 80 horsepower package to set it to 80 horsepower or can you set to 80 even if you have the 60 horsepower package
Good job clearing up FAQs. Im confused about the gas engine standing the bike up in turns thing. Can anyone explain this more in depth?
Would like to have it but not for 12 grand
That is what motorcycles cost
thats what every other bike cost from factory and ktms are in the 14 and 15k range the only cheep big bike you can get is a suzuki 450 in my area its like 7k
Motocross is not all about power. Even at the moment, riders are saying "The old ones were the best", EVO bikes now costing a fortune. We are at a point in MX history, a turn for the worst. People who buy into this will be able to look back and tell their kids/ grandkids that they helped destroy one of the most amazing sports a kid could do. The noise, the smell, the groundshaking starts of a GP and the time spent fiddling with the bikes with yer buddies on weekends, all part of the MX sport. Such a shame.
not that deep stop crying about what other people buy lmao. no one’s saying you can’t still have a gas bike.
Ffs 🤦♂️ with that mindset you are the sort of person to work for the same company all your life
Travis Pastrana said "im here for the power nothing else" ruclips.net/video/c4JhFpX-awo/видео.htmlsi=BPChWm_REZFXMVwT
how can we take it serious. If you only road it for 30 seconds. you have fiqured everything out about the bike in 30 secs. How it handles, how light it is how it corners. LOL really. Your absolutely amazing. What color are my socks sensei.
Hand brakes on a dirtbike is the most loser shit you could ever do. Just get a mountain bike instead 😂
it will be more fun on a dirt bike, compare what you can do on a dirt bike then compare what you can do on a mountain bike and honestly i wouldn't mind the hand break i can stand and use the rear brake (mainly because i don't have very much flexibility in my ankles due to a past injury) but i think it can bring back riders who have been paralyzed from the waist down go out and ride again without worrying about shifting
Gay!!!!
